I've had two vacuums for as long as I can remember- a larger one for deep cleaning, and a smaller one for furniture and quick jobs. This one replaces both vacuums. It's easy to operate and quick to change between an upright and a compact hand held vacuum. I have long hair and this vacuum makes short work of cleaning it without the hair getting tangled in the brush. The soft roller makes this unit really effective on bare floors. The one thing that makes this vacuum stand out is the above floor capability. The canister and wand detach from the floor nozzle making it easy to clean ceiling corners and air vents. The only drawback is the unit takes a little getting used to when maneuvering because it is top heavy.

I recently picked up one of these Shark Apex UpLight vacuums with hopes that it would be a easy lightweight option to help keep the hardwood floors clean. I will start out with some positive things I think this vacuum does well for its size and price. The duo brush system does work well on hardwood floors and the vacuum has pretty strong suction for its size. The brush head motor is a little weak in my opinion as it seems to struggle on more plush carpets, however it does keep spinning so it works OK. The cord is quite long which is nice so you don't have to constantly move plug to plug, probably the longest cord on any vacuum we have owned. The vacuum is very mobile and can lay pretty much flat making running it under furniture much easier. Has a HEPA filter that is easy to access and clean. Their claims of a self-cleaning brush roll appear to be true no hair tangled up after going around the house a few times. While the canister is a little small it is easy to remove from the vacuum, empty, and clean. The vacuum did require some assembly but that assembly could not have been easier so I am confident anyone can knock it out. There are only a few small nit picky complaints on this one overall. I think they could have done a better job in regards to the accessory holder for the vacuum. The included solution comes off very easily and is not permanently fixed to the vacuum in any way. At this point I just leave it off and grab the attachments from the closet if needed. The extension tube for when you are using the vacuum in its "lift away" canister-only form is a bit stiff and a little short so not quite as easy to use in this configuration as I had hoped. As mentioned above the brush head seems a little weak, not sure if this will affect longevity but it does do a good enough job. Overall a great vacuum for most, although might not be the best primary vacuum for those with larger homes. Still very happy to have it around the house and would recommend it.

The Shark Apex Uplight Lift-Away DuoClean is agile and easy to handle. The attachments are versatile and easy to use. The cleaning power suction is impressive. The hand held could be a little lighter. I also think there should be an on/off button near the top handle for easy access to the power button.
