Great Multi-Surface Cleaner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bissell's CrossWave Max Wet/Dry Multi-Surface Cleaner is awesome and everything I could have wanted in a cleaner. I've been searching for a "mop" for my kitchen for year - I've gone traditional, fancy traditional (the ones that ring themselves out), those disposable-pad ones... everything!!! And I couldn't find one that got my floors clean-clean. This does. The first opportunity that I had to use it was when my dogs came in after a muddy run in the back. It cleaned up the prints beautifully. Usually I feel like I'm just pushing the dirt around on the floor. This actually picked up the dirt and cleaned it away. I used it to spot clean an area room at my friends house and worked amazingly there too. I'll be honest if I wasn't a bit skeptical that it would really be able to clean an area run too, but I was happily surprised that it was able to do such a good job. A few things to cause about this - Bissell has an app that they want you to sync the cleaner too. The app is terrible. I keep getting a message that says the firmware needs to be updated (fine, whatever - update). I've done this like 6 times on separate occasions - it updates the firmware, starts you over at the beginning of the setup and then tells you it needs to update the firmware again. It is an evil loop of annoyance. I just skipped this part after I couldn't get it set up and went to cleaning. The only other thing I will mention is that the front, clear plastic part that covers the brush cracks very easily. I noticed the other day when I was changing out the brushes that it was already cracked and I haven't banged it into anything hard enough to do damage, so just be aware that it may be a weak spot on the cleaner. Overall, I love this cleaner and am very happy with it for all its features.

Does the Job of 2 machines in one
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using a corded floor and rug cleaner, I like the idea of one machine that does both rugs and hard floors. Takes up a lot less room than 2 separate machines. It vacuums and washes the floor at the same time though I prefer to use a good strong vacuum first to get the heavier dust and dirt up, then use the Bissell CrossWave Multisurface cleaner. I like the fact that the Bissell CrossWave Cleaner does area rugs as I don’t have wall-to-wall carpet, just area rugs in my home. It’s strong enough to clean without pulling the rug all over the place. There are few aspects that I find a little trouble with: It’s fairly heavy and to put it in the docking station for charging and cleaning, the Cleaner has to be lifted almost 6” up to get it connected properly. The battery only lasted for about 20min and took almost 2 hours to recharge enough for me to use again. It is self-cleaning for the brush only. There are several other parts that need to be dis-assembled to clean the machine properly. The brush does get somewhat clean, but there is still some dirt left, especially washing a mudroom floor. There are 5 parts that need to be dis-assembled after using the cleaner-The dirty water tank, filter, debris strainer, the top of the dirty water tank and the brush. All must be left out to dry before re-assembling and using the Cleaner again. Less parts to clean would be better. If you don’t have a lot to clean at one time, it does do a very good job with little effort. But make sure you can lift it to put it back on the docking station.

Wet and Dry, sign me up
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my home we have wall to wall ceramic tile flooring with a few area rugs. The primary reason is we are dog people and our dogs shed. My wife is always sweeping up dog hair and mopping up muddy paw prints. When I saw the Bissell Crosswave wet/dry vacuum I thought our prayers were answered. After a few weeks it's living up to expectations with a few caveats. Out of the box it's a very handy cordless vacuum with decent enough battery life. It's extremely easy to assemble. We had it together and working on our never-ending dog hair drifts in no time. There are a few features that may be gimicky to some but also useful. The Crosswave has a companion app for Apple or Android that keeps track of charge, filter life, brush life and solution fill. You can also run through a cleaning cycle that helps flush waste from the roller. The app also has tutorials on how to get the most use out of the Crosswave. While the app isn't absolutely necessary it does help maintain the vacuum. The app is pretty easy to setup and it will walk you step by step through the system as it connects via wifi to the vacuum. What I love... - Wet dry feature great for hard floors - Easily switches between hard floors and area rugs - Does a great job of picking up pet hair - Solution tank marked clearly to show water to cleaner ratio (small area or large area) - comes with an extra roller so you can have one drying after cleaning cycle while using the other Not so good but not a deal breaker... - Head slightly narrower than most vacuums but I'm sure that's to help aid in wet applications - My Lab's hair tends to clog near the collection canister, maybe it's the angle of the port in conjunction with the length of the hair - Passive charging base takes up floor space - would prefer to charge and stow but you still need to find a place to stow the base. I guess you could shove the whole thing into a closet after charging. Prefer the other solutions of just plugging into a charging brick but the base is pretty much a necessary evil since it does aid in the cleaning cycle. All in all I think we'll be using the Crosswave a lot, especiallly when the wet season comes around. Maybe I can talk my wife out of putting a beach towel by the back door now.

Wonderful Cleaning Tool
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product cleans messes in a snap. It's really easy to use and clean. The roller brushes do clean themselves. The only small negative is that I wished it swiveled better but other than that, I really like this unit and would definitely recommend it.

Truly Clean Floors
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After mopping, I used to think my floors were clean; boy was I wrong. If you want complete assurance your floors are truly clean, then I cannot recommend the CrossWave Max enough! I tested it on hardwood, laminate, linoleum, tile, and carpet; each and every time I've been impressed with how nice my floors look. The dual tank system guarantees that only clean water is used. The docking station with the self-cleaning cycle ensures the rollers will be clean and the batteries charged for the next session. Note: I did find that the concentrate that came with the system left my hardwood a bit sticky, so the next time I just cut the amount of solution in half and the stickiness went away. Highly Recommend!

Works great on hardwood
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We used this almost immediately on our hardwood floors as we had guests w/ children who had just managed to spill - of all things - honey! It cleaned it up beautifully. The manual and quick start, however, are nebulous as to whether or not you can use this unit on *carpet*. Manual & quick start say "area rugs" yet the unit's control panel setting says "carpet". So we haven't braved running it on our carpet just yet. Dry mode seems to work just OK; it seems this unit is really built to work more as a wet vac than a dry one.

Overall great wet/dry cleaner!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max is the newest CrossWave from Bissells line. It is a wet/dry vacuum, so it vacuums and mops at the same time. The price retails for $399.99, so when I purchased it, I expected it to work well. There are several things I love about my CrossWave Cordless Max. Firstly, I love that it is cordless and I don’t have to worry about carrying a cord around with me. My favorite thing about the cleaner is that it vacuums and mops at the same time. This is so helpful because it saves me so much time and energy. I get both steps done at the same time, and cleanup is easier since there is no mop bucket. Another feature Bissell added is the two tank design. The vacuum dispenses clean water from the clean water tank and puts the dirty mop water in the dirty water tank on the front of the machine, which is amazing because it means you are never mopping with dirty water like with a traditional mop bucket. Finally, the machine comes with a charging and cleaning base. When you’re done cleaning, you put it on the base, and it cleans itself! Something I don’t like about the CrossWave is the battery life. It only lasts about 25 minutes, and I feel this should be improved considering the price tag of the cleaner. Lastly, because you don’t ring the brush roll out like a traditional mop, it tends to soak up water. When I put the cleaner upright after using it, sometimes it leaves a small puddle of dirty water from the brush roll being soaked. This does get irritating because I have to go back and clean up the spot of water it left. Overall, I think the pros outweigh the cons for the Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max. There are many benefits, and if you’re a busy person who hates cleaning the floors, this could definitely be for you.

Versatile Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the CrossWave Cordless Max Multi Surface Wet Dry Vacuum! I am able to vacuum and wash everything I need without having to worry about plugging in a cord or running out of battery! It works on carpet, tile, wood floors, laminate, linoleum, and area rugs! It displays the battery level so I know how much is remaining! My favorite feature is the Two Tank Technology! This keeps clean water and formula separate from dirty water! The Bissell app alerts me when the filter needs to be cleaned! It has a self cleaning cycle that cleans the brush and tank! It also keeps track of cleaning history and the formula! I am incredibly impressed!

It’s just eh
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maybe it’s the type of floors I have, but the longer I’ve had this thing, the less effective it seems to come. I’ve owned this expensive piece of equipment for about 2 months now. The first time using it was amazing. I saw so much picked up off my floor, and the water was black! But I also learned to not use too much water or the wheels would leave dirt wheel lines everywhere. The longer I’ve had it, the more common this became, and I use slim to no water. Also, half the time the stains / spots don’t come off the floor. I’ll wiggle this thing around hoping the little rubber pieces in the brush hit it, but if there is anything stuck on the floor, I have to use my nail to pick it off then go over it with my bissel. Mind you, I clean every single piece and wipe down the machine after every use. Oh, and I HATE THE STAND! why didn’t they make a stand that has a tray you can remove?! If you use the self clean option and any pet hair or dirt was stuck on the brush, guess what?! It doesn’t go into the machine.. it goes into the stand! You then have a swampy nasty mess to clean up after every single use. It takes longer to clean this than it does to clean the floor... I’ll clean the floor and once everything dries, I see lines everywhere. Its so annoying. I’m not a fan of that. I go as slow as possible to see if it sucks any better, but not really.. I’m just hoping it’s the floor type, and if I ever have tile floor, I’ll be able to use this stupid thing again. I love the concept.. maybe older models are better with the cords. My mom raves about Hers, which is why I bought this thing.

DON'T BUY THIS JUNK - Review after 10 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first, the machine was ok. I am sure any of the good reviews you are reading is since they posted when they first purchased. Just ok for the amount of money it costs but I figured it will do for a house quick clean for my area rugs and hard floods. It sounded like the dream machine when I first got it. The brush self cleaner is worthless. You have to take the whole machine apart and clean it, let it dry if you want it to work at all the next time you use it. Not convenient whatsoever. Then it will leave dirty puddles of water everywhere. Really awful when you are cleaning a rug with light colors in it. After a few months mine lost suction all together. They sent a replacement. That one was worst than the first. It hardly sucks water out of the rugs and my hard floors are so streaked I had to go over them with a mop. The streaking was just trails of dirty water not being sucked up. I contacted Bissell AGAIN. They sent ANOTHER replacement. EVEN WORSE! My rugs were left sopping wet, Streaky floors. And I went back and forth with Bissell over and over again about how terrible this machine is. When I told them about the rugs, which I have 4 different rugs, different brands and nothing out of the ordinary I get this answer "It would be best to consult your rug manufacturer with questions on cleaning instructions." and about the streaks, I get this answer "You might not be using enough fresh formula while cleaning. Please make sure to hold the trigger to leave an even finish on the floor—using too much formula may also cause this issue to occur, go over the area without pressing the trigger to suction up all water" Really? I used the correct amount of formula and of course, I went back to suck up the water. It was an excuse, after excuse why this machine is supposed to work right. Well, it doesn't. Save your hundreds of dollars, save yourself the heartache. Stop buying Bissell. They don't stand behind their products. Get a Hoover or Dyson. (FYI I did purchase on Amazon but I vowed to post my review on this rip off of hundreds of dollars anywhere I can since Bissell doesn' care one bit. )

Died after being used 4 times, no help from Bissel
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're thinking about buying a Bissell Crosswave I have to say that I do not recommend it. I didn't use mine very often, I used it a whole whopping 4 times in the time that I owned it. I just tried to use it to clean my floors for the Holidays and the Crosswave was dead. It beeped, then paused, then beeped 4 more times and 2 red lights illuminated on the front. That's all it will do. It will not turn on at all. I contacted Bissell support and they assured me that they were 100% committed to finding a solution for my problem and that they always stand behind their products, then they told me there was nothing they could do because it was out of warranty. Then they offered me a very insulting 20% off the purchase of a new Crosswave. As if. Garbage. These things are garbage. This is a known issue, you can search the internet for the problem that I have described and there are MANY people with the same issue and no solution. This seems to be a known issue with Bissell and they are doing nothing about it. I very strongly recommend that you do not purchase a Bissell Crosswave.

Stopped working. Junk.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased it at the beginning of the year and after 2 months it stopped charging or turning on. Called support to see if I was doing something wrong and they told me to bring it to a local repair center because it was under warranty. They kept it for almost 3 months waiting for something from Bissell. Finally I got a call and they said Bissell just sent a new one and I could pick it up. A few months later I have the same issue again. No charging and no turning on. For almost $400 you would think it would be better than this. Now I am stuck with a broken machine I can't return. The reviews saying the machine starts to smell is true. It smells like something died in it after a little while. Its junk. Wait till the 2nd or 3rd generation when they work out the bugs and save your money.

OK but not for me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.used it for the first time today. The canister leaked when putting in, so the floor was super wet. Also, many areas there were stoke marks of dirt that did not get picked up. I use a steam cleaner and it works much much better.
