    Most Powerful Cordless I've Used

“Cordless” seems to be the rage these days in vacuum cleaners. Most of them sacrifice cleaning power for the convenience of not having to drag a cord around with you and repeatedly plug in and out in different rooms. This LG really rivals the suction power of any plug-in cleaner I’ve used. After I’ve vacuumed with my reliable corded cleaner, I went over the carpet again with the CordZero and was surprised what I found in its dirt cup when finished. The ‘stick vacuum’ concept makes it very maneuverable. Other manufacturers of stick vacuums have a charging stand which must be mounted on a wall. Sometimes that’s inconvenient. The LG stand can be mounted the same way, OR it will stand on its own. This makes it much more versatile. If you’re working in one part of your house, you don’t have to constantly go back to where you’ve hung the charger, you can just bring the stand with you. Also, it charges two batteries at the same time. One in the cleaner and one mounted below it in the stand, so you’ll always have two charged batteries available to you, and you won’t have to try to remember in which cabinet you placed the extra battery, it’s always charged and ready for use. The cleaner has three filters and all of them readily accessible and easy to clean. If the filters get dirty enough to impede performance, the cleaner will let you know by alternating the speed of the device to get your attention. LG says the battery life is 40 minutes per battery at the standard speed. Using the cleaner at maximum turbo speed it’s more like 8 minutes per battery. If you’re unfamiliar with battery operated cleaners like this, that actually is pretty good. And you’ve always got that second battery available to just slide in, and can be charging the other one while you’re still using the CordZero. On the negative side, we just put new plush carpeting in our bedrooms and the CordZero is noticeably harder to glide around the floor than our other machines. My wife tells me the reason is that it’s really getting down into the carpet pile and pulling up dirt that other cleaners miss. Looking in the dirt cup, I can see she’s right, but just know that if you’ve got lots of thick carpeting to clean in your home, it may be more tiring than you’re used to. On the other hand, it floats along bare floors and rugs with ease. Also I would have appreciated some LED lights illuminating the floor. At this price point, I’d think that would be an included feature which it is not. Bottom line though, if you’re looking for a well built, solid, cordless vacuum cleaner that WILL do the job of a corded cleaner, you’ll be well advised to get the CordZero.

Maybe the best stick vacuum made

If you are in the market for a stick vacuum, the LG CordZero could be your best option. You'll have to decide if the function and features warrant the price, but you often get what you pay for, and this is no exception. The purpose of a stick vacuum is not to replace your larger upright or canister vac. Stick vacs exist to make it easier and more convenient to do a quick job where pulling out the monster might not be appealing after a day at work. And due to their size, stick vacs are more convenient for doing stairs, automobiles, or any tight area where a larger vacuum just won't get the job done. That having been said, there could be some situations where a stick vac is all you need. Feature-wise, the LG has a lot going for it. For starters, it comes with a storage/charging base that does exactly what you'd think--it stores the vacuum and charges the battery on the vacuum, as well as the second battery. It can be freestanding, mounted on a wall, or placed in a horizontal position out of the way on the floor. It is well thought out with storage for the extra nozzles. Emptying the dust bin is a simple process, and the filters are easy to get to and washable. Again, well thought out by the LG engineers. If you have pets, you'll find that emptying the dust bin is a 2-step process. Fur gets trapped in the top of the bin where fingers cannot reach, so the dust separator has to be removed each time. It's a little complicated since you need the crevice tool to remove the dust separator, but you get used to it and it only takes an additional 15 seconds or so. One of my concerns was battery life. Manufacturers often stretch the truth when it comes to battery life, but LG was actually on the conservative side. They claim you'll get 30 minutes per battery with a power attachment connected and the power setting on normal. I actually got almost 32 minutes on a charge. Of course, putting it on high will decrease batter life considerably. However, I've found the normal setting works just fine on hard floors. So, can the LG CordZero replace your larger upright? I tested the LG against my Shark Duo. I live in a hostile environment for vacuums. I have 2 dogs that are heavy shedders--a Golden Retriever and a Husky, so I depend on my vacuum cleaner to take the "dog" out of the house. I tested both vacuums on a 5x7 piece of carpet. I first vacuumed the carpet in both directions with the LG CordZero with the power carpet nozzle attached and on high. I then vacuumed the same carpet in the same manner with the Shark. While the Shark did pick up additional dust and fur, it was minimal and far less than I expected. Just for fun I vacuumed the carpet again with the LG and while I didn't pick up any additional pet fur, it did pick up additional dirt. So, my conclusion is that while I'm not quite ready to get rid of my full-sized vacuum, the LG CordZero comes really close to providing the same cleaning power as a larger vacuum. If you live in a small to mid-sized apartment with minimal carpet, the CordZero is probably all you need to keep things clean. Well-designed and with powerful suction, the LG CordZero is quite possibly the best stick vacuum made.

Kinda weird that we live in a time where a vacuum cleaner can cost more than a large screen TV. Seems you wanna go cordless with any power you're gonna have to drop some cash. The LG CordZero is my fourth cordless and out of all of the others it's best performer on carpeted floors. Hardwood or tile, not so much. You have to buy an optional attachment for that. With two batteries you can even vacuum on high power and get most or all of you house in one session. The biggest drawback of cordless vacuums in general is that they just don't have the same power as a corded vacuum. It's mostly fine on hard surfaces, on carpets it can be a bit of an issue. Even using the turbo setting on the CordZero I could still go over the spot with my corded vacuum and pick up leftover dust. The CordZero performs better on hard surfaces, but since there's no option to turn off the beater without buying another attachment I ended up having to chase trash around that was being tossed by the beater. At the price point it would have been easy to just have a hard surface option like so many other cheaper vacuums have. Instead you have to buy the attachment. The biggest fault, in my case, is the shape of the canister. The space between the filter and the canister is so tight that dust constantly builds up and gets stuck there. I have a contact dust mite allergy and having to put on a pair of gloves or grabbing the attachment to remove the filter is a hassle. A tapered filter might have fixed this problem. The LG CordZero is mostly a good vacuum, but the two issues make it a limited use item for me. Dual battery, suction, and light-weight make it almost perfect. But the dust constantly getting caught in the canister and the lack of a hard surface option built in really dings it.

Very Compact Vacuum with Great Suction!

I love the form factor of this compact LG vacuum stick. It's surprisingly powerful for something that looks like a toy. That said, it's practically a mirror double to the popular V8 model. In comparison, the LG is a bit more expensive but comes with 2 battery packs for up to an hour of actual usage and the unique feature of a collapsible stalk that makes it easier to operate for people of all sizes. It certainly collected more debris from our 9x12 living room area rug than I thought possible. Granted our Corgy uses it as his personal hangout, I vacuum every weekend with a Shark P50 and assume it's clean. Frankly, I was in awe of the way this filled to the rim with hair and dust. Which brings me to a problem, the container capacity is too small. I wish they could have given it an elliptical shape so it might hold 50% more and not detract from it's impressive style. The batteries are actually only good for 30 minutes or less since most of the time, this will be used with the power nozzle. I like having the power options of high and turbo, though I barely used them since the normal mode worked well for most needs. The only other thing I might miss is the lack of LEDs on the brush. Really useful when maneuvering in shady spots. I love the charging stand and it's secure locking for both the cleaner and accessories. I think this is a great addition to the cleaning regimen and, when the price comes down, it will certainly be worthy competition.

The first thing I noticed about the LG CordZero Bagless Cordless Handheld/Stick Vacuum is how beautifully it is packaged. A little TOO beautifully. It’s like taking apart a kit. You have to take out cardboard frames and peel off little stickers protecting the finish off of everything. Then the attachments are in like a fast food drink carton, which I thought was cool at first. I quickly realized that it wasn’t a permanent carrying case of any kind. To me, that would have been nice to carry attachments from room to room. After I spent 10 minutes unpacking everything, I started putting together the unit. You have a stand for both batteries (two batteries! Yay!) and the vacuum to be stored on, along with the attachments. The instructions say you can do a “freestanding” application, or you can screw it to the wall like a permanent charging station. However, it’s not really “freestanding”, as they recommend anchoring the stand to a wall even if you have it sitting on the floor. Um, no. I just have mine standing in the hallway. Next, I tried out the actual vacuum. I have back issues, so my larger floor vacuums are very hard to handle and cause a lot of pain. This unit is much lighter to use and glides well across my carpet. It picked up a LOT of dirt. What really disappointed me was the emptying feature. I expected to release the chamber, have the dirt/hair fall into the trash, and that’s that. I had to put my hand in the chamber and release all of the debris. NOT what I am looking for in a vacuum. It felt so gross. Everything just sort of wrapped around itself and got lodged. That is why I took away the star. I want something no fuss, no muss. In all, the unit is beautiful and stylish. The red is quite attractive. It doesn’t take up a lot of room and comes with two batteries which is always helpful. However, be prepared to have to help it empty the chamber of the crud.

I'll keep this one short. I have a large house, around 3800 square feet. It sucks to vacuum... I'm always having to switch outlets. We have been using an upright which does a great job on carpet but not so great on hard floors. I have around 2,000 square feet of tile, so I need a vacuum that can pick up the dust and crumbs that always seem to end up all over the place. The LG CordZero, while rather expensive, is hands down the best cordless vacuum I have owned. It does a better job on my tile floors with the hard floor attachment than my Shark Navigator Deluxe. It might be one of the best hard floor vacuums I've used, period, and that includes the old canister vacs I had back in the day. Using the LG CordZero on carpet with the carpet attachment is not quite as good as the uprights I have, but it is good enough. I still occasionally use the Shark to vacuum the carpets because it does seem to extract more dirt from the carpets. Battery life is excellent, in my opinion. I can vacuum my entire house, carpets and hard floors, on the two batteries and still have enough juice on the second battery to keep going. This is at the higher suction power. I'm sure if I kept the suction down lower, they might last even longer. But being able to charge a battery while using another one is fantastic. I also love the stand the LG comes with. The vacuum hangs nicely on it, and it charges the battery while it's sitting there. You just can't beat the convenience or ability of this unit. Yes, it is rather pricey, but it is a great performer.

I have been thoroughly impressed with the LG CordZero so far. Although it is lightweight, it feels remarkably well-built and sturdy. Te included stand is a great feature since the vacuum will not stand up on its own. I did not attach the base to the wall as suggested in the instructions but have had no issues whatsoever with it feeling like it would tip over. The integrated charging port is an added bonus. Never have to worry about a dead battery again! That said, I have yet to run the battery completely down and I regularly use it for 15-20 minutes at a time. (The included second battery is great as a backup just in case, but I haven't really had a need for it so far.) I rarely use the "turbo" mode (or have need to) because the suction on the normal setting is sufficiently strong to pick up the majority of things that fall to the floor. The dust cup capacity is small but is about what you'd expect on a machine of this size. Since getting the LG, I have relegated my larger vacuum to only being used when I want to deep-clean the entire house. Otherwise, this little gem is so easy to maneuver and powerful enough for daily cleanups that it's become my go-to cleaning machine. The power head is on the small side so large jobs can take a bit longer, but the size comes in handy when working in tighter locations. It's also low profile enough to easily get under all but the lowest pieces of furniture. Simple and convenient to use, I would highly recommend this vacuum.

This is a great vacuum. It’s nice and compact. The length adjustments work great for those hard to reach areas . The rechargeable battery is very convenient . The power from the vacuum picks up very well. We have a dog that sheds a lot. So far I’m pleased with the results. I also love the color!! Easy to store due to the compact size. You will live this vacuum.

With two children and two dogs in the house, I find myself reaching for this unit frequently. I was shocked at how simple a vacuum could feel to use when the basic act of having to un-wind the power cord is not part of the equation. I love it! Between no power cord and how light this unit is in the hand this thing is great. Great comes at a cost though: it is not as powerful as a corded vacuum. For a large number of vacuum related tasks this is ok for us but we still have to break out the corded vacuum because our 150 pound golden lab dog sheds like he's cloning himself every few hours. This vacuum does a great job with what I would describe as the top layer of dog hair, but the hair is usually multiple layers thick and even on its most powerful setting this vacuum does not have enough sucking power to cope with the volume of hair shed from this dog.

Best stick vac to handle twin toddler messes

Let me start this review by saying one of my first jobs in college was as a commissioned appliance and vacuum salesman for a now almost-defunct major retailer. I used to be kind of a nerd for vacuums (as lame as that sounds). I was unreasonably excited to get this LG CordZero Ultimate stick vacuum. My aging upright (a HEPA filtered top rated model from my old job) still works wonderfully but wasn’t the best for my current home with engineered hardwood floors and kids’ toys everywhere. First impressions upon unboxing: 1) I’ve had the opportunity to use a few stick vacs from other brands, and they either feel cheap and flimsy or they had poor battery life, or both. The LG CordZero is priced like a premium vacuum and it feels like it. Construction is still plastic but it feels sturdy and well made. 2) With the matte grey model you get a special tool for hard floors vs carpet. I’ve used the ‘combination’ tool from another top brand and while it was better than previous versions, it wasn’t anywhere near as good as the LG power floor tool. The “power punch” tool is really cool and works well on upholstered furniture. If you have hard floors, it’s well worth it to get the top “matte grey” LG instead of the matte red which doesn’t include the hard floor tool. Usage review: 1) Suction: I have zero complaints about the suction power. It’s not as powerful as my top rated corded upright, but it’s far better than any battery powered vacuum I’ve ever used. Even at the lowest power setting I feel like my downstairs hard floors are very clean. The mid speed and “turbo” settings are icing on the cake and work well when trying to pick up spilled Cheerios or cracker crumbs (common in my home with young twin boys). I even put the LG CordZero to my ultimate test and vacuumed the carpet around our dog crate. I did one pass with the lowest suction, and didn’t any noticeable missed fur. I then emptied the bin and went over it again with the turbo setting, and there were a few stragglers that got left behind, but there definitely was nothing left after Turbo. No tangles in the power carpet tool either. Kitty litter also was no problem even at the lowest setting, nothing kicked around by the tool, just straight up the tube into the bin . 2) Ergonomics: the telescoping ‘wand’ tube is well executed. I liked that it doesn’t use a trigger like other stick vacs and just has the ON, (-), and Turbo/(+) buttons on the back where you can hit them with your thumb. Battery life is no concern so there’s no reason to have a trigger you need to hold down. See (3) for that. The button placement is kinda bad for emptying the bin – see (4) for my workaround. Sound profile is not ‘silent’ but it’s also not very loud and is not unpleasant. Just sounds like a quiet vacuum. Weight is ‘just right’ – not so light it feels flimsy but not heavy enough to be tiring. 3) Battery life: My biggest concern moving to a cordless vac was not having enough juice to do my whole home in one go. Also, having to swap batteries could be a pain if the design isn’t up to par. LG advertises 30 minutes of battery life with the power tools and lowest power mode, and I feel this is pretty accurate. I can do my whole home on one battery with the lowest setting and occasional “turbo” use. Having the second battery enables a good ‘deep clean’ once a week where you can use the higher power settings without fear of having to take a rest break in the middle of the day. The stand can charge the extra battery at the same time as the one in the vacuum itself. Swapping them is effortless. 4) The charging stand is pretty stable and easy to use. Only had it not seat properly the first time once or twice in 10 days of use. Ours is not mounted on a wall, the base is easily heavy enough to keep it steady when clicking it into the base. 5) Emptying the bin: This is my only real complaint with the vacuum but it’s also my complaint with any bagless vac and especially stick vacs. All the filters in the world don’t prevent dust from going everywhere when you empty the bin into the trash. With lots of pet hair in the bin, you really need a slim tool of some kind to get the hair out of the upper parts of the bin. I’ve used a coffee stirrer and kitchen knife. Since this is also a problem with any other stick vac I’ve used, I won’t deduct any stars for it. A minor frustration is the power button placement encourages you to accidentally press them when emptying the bin. After two or three uses I just made sure I removed the battery (which is effortless) before emptying the bin. Problem solved. Overall: This is the best stick vacuum I’ve ever used by a country mile. At the same time I received my LG CordZero Ultimate, my parents got the top “animal” model from a competitor to replace an older entry model from the same brand. Having used theirs around the house, I would take the LG 10 out of 10 times. My old upright is going to be lonely in the closet.

I definitely have more likes for this vacuum than I do dislikes. When I received it, it was packaged nicely and easy to assemble. I was able to test out right away because it was partially charged. It sounds so low compared to what most vacuums sound like. I almost wondered if it was even vacuuming up any trash, but when I looked in the canister there was trash in there and the floor looked nice and clean. I love that quiet feature. You can change that to stronger suction too and it works great. The only thing, like all of these cordless vacuums is that the battery wastes faster on full force suction. Honestly, you didnt really need to use the full force suction on just regular daily trash from having kids and dogs. I love that there is two batteries and you can switch it when it runs out (which will happen for bigger jobs or your whole house depending on how big your house is). I have a 3 bedroom and my living room is not that large so I can do my whole house on one battery unless I'm moving furniture cleaning than I have to grab the other battery. I also love that the wand can go short for storage or extend for use. The holder is a brilliant idea so you don't have to put it on your wall and you can move it if you change your mind on the location. It holds the extra battery and the vacuum with the battery on. I love that! It is not a huge vacuum so you will have to empty the container often. My one dislike about this vacuum is that you have to use a pencil or little stick or brush to empty out the canister for trash that doesn't just easily fall out. It has to be swept out using something skinny. Not cool. Other than that, I really like this vacuum. That detail alone could make someone go with another brand or style because it can become an inconvenience when you are trying to clean and your stuck trying to empty out the canister because trash is stuck at the top. I would have deducted only half a star, but it wouldn't let me. That is the only reason why I deducted a star because of that issue. Other than that, it is a great vacuum that works really well.

The LG CordZero bagless vacuum is light weight, rechargeable and easy to reconfigure so that you can make clean up a breeze. The unit comes with two inter-changeable batteries so that you can use one while the other is recharging in the stand. Also included in the box are three different vacuum heads - one with a brush designed for use on carpet, another for hard floor surfaces and the last upholstery. There is also a crevice tool. That is a lot of stuff to account for but the simple solution is the stand-up storage stand/recharging station that comes with the unit. Ergonomics are good. The heads swivel easily as you vacuum and the wand can be extended to match the user. The head unit is detachable and can be used as a hand vacuum or you can extend your reach by using one of the wand segments. All of the attachments can be used in this mode, even the full size powered heads! The only downside is that the battery life is pretty limited if you run the vacuum in "turbo" mode. Also, pay attention to the warnings about getting pinched when you change out the pieces! Overall this is a quality product with an obvious attention to detail and design. Buy it!

Loved everything about this cordless vacuum, except cleaning. It’s sleek looking, we’ll built and comes with a stand that does not require drilling into your walls.
