Mind you I've had this for about 24 hours, but this machine is amazing. There are no delays in response to any of my peripherals, and there's not the tiniest bit of heat produced by spinning disks. I'm completely confident that this machine will last a long time to come. Also the size is perfect - not too big that I need to put it on the floor and large enough for modifications and additions down the road.

My 10-year-old PC decided to die at the same time everyone was buying new PCs because of the Coronavirus, so the pickings were slim. Although this PC did not have all the specs I wanted, it seemed close enough and the price was good. If you use Microsoft Office programs, do light gaming and photo or video editing it will do well. It also has plenty of ports. There are four USB 2.0 ports in the rear, and in the front, there are four USB 3.1 ports, a USB Type C port, and a 3-in-1 media card reader. It is incredibly quiet, fast, and boots up in less than 20 seconds. But if you want a faster graphics card or additional RAM, it can be a challenge. RAM & SSD speed are very fast but the “weakest link” in this PC is the embedded Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics card. As one benchmark I ran said, “This GPU can only handle very basic 3D games but it's fine for general computing tasks.” The PC has available slots to add a GPU but it only has a 180 watt power supply, so the upgrade choices for graphics cards is limited unless you want to change the power supply, and that’s an issue unto itself. The power supply in this PC is non-standard. I was told by two BB employees that a certain PS would work so I bought it. Unfortunately, it was physically too large to fit in the case and even if it could, it had incompatible cables. The ONLY power supply I could find that is compatible with this model is one that can only be purchased directly from HP. It’s a 500-watt PS, part number L05757-800 and costs around $140 delivered. The good news is that (unlike the PS included) it has all the connectors you need to power an add-on graphics card. This information isn’t available on the HP site but it actually does include the 8 pin, 6 pin and 2 pin connectors so that almost any add-on GPU will work. One caution though. The PC case restricts the size of the GPU to about 10” long and about 3½“ high. Installing the 500w PS was simple and it fits better than the original. The motherboard provides power to the components so there’s only three cables from the PS to the motherboard that have to be connected, and they are clearly marked. The one addition that should be simple is adding RAM. Good luck. There is one available slot to add an additional 16 GB stick but it’s impossible to find the memory to insert there. Again, it seems like the only source is directly from HP, but they are out of stock. The part number for the additional 16 GB module, according to an HP chat tech is 934255-800. You could, of course replace the one module with two matching 16 GB modules. The 500 GB SSD looks like a memory module and attaches directly to the motherboard, so there’s no “cage” to add an additional SSD or HD. So adding another drive to this PC requires the purchase of a drive enclosure. I purchased a SanDisk 2 TB SSD, Best Buy part number 5969504 and a Corsair SATA drive enclosure, part number 6033200. Installation was quite easy and straightforward. Overall, I am very pleased with this PC. There were some challenges in getting the information needed to add some components but hopefully this will make it easier if you wish to make it even better.

    Open Box Sold as New

The equipment itself is up to specs. However, when I opened the box I was missing the wireless mouse and when I turned it on it had another person login. Before I could use it, I had to go into the recovery boot and do a system reset. It seems that what was sold to me as new was a return or an open box and it failed to have been reset or even cleaned. With the coronavirus outbreaks having a piece of equipment not prepared for resell, is bad. Had I not needed the equipment for work and had the time to return it, I would have. Shame on you Best Buy. It even had a dongle from the other persons devices.

I needed a new PC and after doing a lot of research I chose this HP i7 machine. I wanted something fast and something that was going to last awhile. I have had this for a little over a month and no issues at all. It was very easy to set up and get going on both my wireless network and then switched to my LAN cables. This thing starts lightning fast. I press the on button (only flaw that I see on this PC is the tiny and thin on button) first and then turn my monitor on. The PC is already at the log in screen before the monitor (brand new 32" HP monitor) is even ready. It takes maybe 3-5 seconds to get to the log in screen. It shuts down just as quick and all my programs open extremely fast. I have had no issues at all with this PC and so far very pleased with the purchase.

This is a nice PC with two features which I was seeking. (1) It has an Intel i7 chip. (2) It has a solid state drive. These two make for a nice quiet machine which boots up very quickly and processes files and applications nice and fast.

I like everything about this computer except for the integrated graphics card, which is an Intel UHD Graphics 630. This card is simply inadequate for most popular games. You can go to gameplay.intel.com/CPUSelectedGameSearch/Index/134905/1 for a list of games that are playable or unplayable on this computer. If I had to do it over again, I would spring for an upgrade to a model with a discrete graphics card with at least 2 GB dedicated video memory. That being said, for 90% of what I do, research, writing, spreadsheets, presentations, and photo processing this machine is excellent. I particularly like the 512 GB SSD hard drive, given the the HDD drive on my former 10-year old computer crashed three times in the first month of this year; thank goodness for backups. This computer is very fast compared to my old one, particularly noticeable in photo processing.

It is fast enough and versatile enough to handle a variety of tasks. The only negative I can see is that it does not have a traditional hard drive. I wanted to upgrade storage to 1tb and bought a 1tb SSD drive thinking I could just swap it out. I had to virtually disassemble the case to mount the new SSD drive. I could not locate the original drive, it must be integrated into the motherboard. There is only one open expansion slot. What you buy is basically what you will use as long as you own it. I would have liked more USB ports by I got by with a hub.

I am incredibly happy with this computer. It's fast and has worked flawlessly since I got it. I am not a gamer, so I don't need an expensive video card. This machine works very well for browsing the internet and using Microsoft Office and I am sure it has enough power for more intensive applications. I would happily recommend this product to anybody. The price is great too for a machine of this caliber.

I waited (on purpose) before submitting this review because I wanted to post a review after using the product for a little while. Let me start with this, I am a teacher and when we were switched to distance learning, I figured out real fast that my old home computer could not handle the volume of computer applications that I needed to use in a regular day. This ENVY Desktop has been able to handle it all. I have multiple windows open at any given time. I have been able to have "virtual" real time meetings with both my students and my colleagues while having the online platforms open and working, along with any other documents I also needed at the time. There has been no lagging or freezing with this model. This was an upgrade from my previous HP desktop. I did pay more for this model, then my previous model, but it was well worth it. I have had other brand towers, but in the end, I usually come back to HP. So far, so good!

This unit was easy to set up and has performed well so far. It is much quieter than the computer it replaced. Applications span the range from web browsing to mathematical computations for engineering calculations. This machine is not used for gaming or video streaming. It looks good on the desktop doesn’t take up a lot of space.

I've been using this PC for a month now and I'm pleased with it's performance; especially for the price. Sure there are much more expensive computers, but for my purposes of web browsing, light photo editing, and MS Office usage, it fits the bill perfectly. Don't expect to play any graphics intensive games on this since the integrated video will hold you back but do expect to get speedy performance on light-medium duty applications. If someone was thinking of this purchase, I'd recommend uninstalling the multiple HP applications that come preloaded. They're unnecessary and are bloatware.

I've had this desktop for 3 weeks now and so far it is working great. It is quiet , fast and has a lot of connectivity. I did have to buy a camera and speakers which I knew I had to do. I bought a 32inch Samsung display and used the HDMI to connect it. The resolution and enormous size makes it great to look at 2 screens simultaneously. So far the 512 GB SSD seem to be more than enough for the basic programs I use. I also bought a 500 GB external SSD drive to store non essential data such as music and, pictures. Oh, It was easy to connect everything and get it working in just 1 hour or less.

Fast and quick. I bought this computer to replace my aging I3 laptop. So far no hiccups, runs smooth and fast. It comes with McAffee AVG but I did not install it due my previous not so good experience with it. It could have earned my 5 star but 2 things I feel needs improvement. The disc drive door occassionally pops open even not in use and the power button is below the surface of the computer. It requires longer finger nail to press it. Overall I still rate it 4 star.

So i'm not into PC gaming (yet), but I wanted a computer I could upgrade the RAM and add more storage as well for school. I've never opened up a computer before, but after watching so many YouTube videos on adding RAM, I tried it and I must say, it was pretty easy. The downside however was I had to buy a set of 16gb Crucial DDR4 RAM sticks. The 16gb that's pre-installed already was HP branded and I did not want to wait 2 weeks to receive my upgrade. I didn't want to mix the brands with one another so if you don't mind spending the extra $ then go for it. Also the location of the RAM sticks was a bit tricky to get to. If you know how to remove other components of the computer then this would be irrelevant to you, but for those like me who never have opened a computer, as long as you have a steady hand and you are patient enough you'll be able to insert the new RAM sticks into the motherboard. This desktop is super fast and I have it connected to 2 of my ASUS 4K 28inch Montiors I use for console gaming. I like to watch YouTube and Movies on my desktop and having a multi-monitor setup with this machine is AWESOME! I get 4K visuals with the integrated graphics in this computer, that was a priority for me as well. In conclusion, if you want a fast computer just for school work and to watch videos at the same time, with no lagging, (cause lagging is BIG annoyance for me), this computer is a great choice. On another note, the desktop looks a lot nicer in person than it does on the website.

I've always bought HP Envy products and have been very satisfied. This was my first experience with a solid state drive and I'm amazed by the speed and performance of this desktop. Now working from home, an i7 with 16 GB memory and a 512GB drive has certainly taken my productivity to another level. It is so quiet and has exceeded all expectations. The price was also very attractive, on sale for $719 with an additional 10% discount from my job. I highly recommend this desktop.

I bought this in early January because my old PC ran Windows 7 and had previously run into problems with Windows 10. It made more sense just to buy a new one. This has been an excellent upgrade for home use. It's fast, both as to starting up and as to doing everything I want to do. The only two negatives in my view are that it doesn't come with enough storage and its peripherals aren't very good. Storage: Of course I know I can add more drive space, but a 512 GB SSD as the sole drive is really skimpy, especially if (as I do) you have large amounts of high-rez music and digital photos. For the moment, I have all that stuff stored on an external hard drive I used to transfer data from my old PC. At some point I suppose I should install another drive inside this PC, and I found it mildly annoying that Best Buy's product listings were vague as to what exactly the machine can take in that respect (in fairness, I don't know if that's on Best Buy or HP). I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. The other negative is the terrible keyboard. The wireless keyboard that came with this PC is the worst keyboard I've ever used. Too small for my hands, keys too close together, function keys don't work as expected unless you hit the "fn" key (which should not be necessary on a desktop PC, only on a laptop). Thankfully, this problem is very easy to overcome by attaching a regular wired keyboard, which I did within a week. I would not hesitate to buy this PC or to recommend it, subject to the proviso that I would also recommend you buy a better keyboard at the same time and be prepared to upgrade the storage. Best Buy shipping was quick and reliable, too.
