Great little Chromebook keyboard!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little Chromebook keyboard. It syncs easily and quickly and is surprisingly comfortable for me to use considering it's small size. I needed a 10 key and this gives me that plus Chromebook specific keys. I've been using it via bloothooth and it's surprisingly fast for a bluetooth keyboard. I have noticed that the screen brightness buttons and play/pause button are a bit mixed up but there is likely a way to reprogram them, I just haven't spent the time to figure it out. That's really been my only minor issue up to this point.

Love this keyboard for my chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great keyboard. I love how easy it is to connect via Bluetooth. I used it for my Chromebook and my iPhone. It worked perfectly from the get-go. It’s easy to type on & my hands never get fatigued. A word to the wise: the key clicks are not 100% silent, but they’re barely noticeable, and it’s not backlit. Also, if you have a case on your iPad or your phone, they may not fit in the incorporated slot.

super convenient, and easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love how easy it is to use rhis keyboard. It's very simple to connect to any type of device. For PC's or devices without Bluetooth, there is a USB reciever in the battery compartment. For Bluetooth devices, you simply have to hold down one of the two device buttons for three seconds, to put the keyboard into pairing mode. Then , go to your device and connect to the keyboard through your Bluetooth settings. When trying to connect, a code will pop up on your screen. All you have to do, is type the code into the keyboard and press enter, you are now connected, and can quickly switch between active devices by selecting the correct device on the keyboard. The keyboard also comes with 15 FN keys for quick shortcuts to your devices functions. ie,.. volume, play, screen brightness, back button, lock, menu,..etc. Although this keyboard was designed for Chrome, it can be used on anything. The keyboard has virtually every keyboard layout programmed into it, and the layouts can be accessed by holding down two keys for 3 seconds. Windows,.. "fn" + "P" Mac,.... "fn" + "O" (this is not a zero) iPhone,.... "fn" + "i" Chrome,.... "fn" + "8" Android,.... "fn" + "9" The keyboard does have two keys that are assigned to the Google Assistant and Chrome Apps, while the layout is set for Chrome. These keys change functionality based on the layout selected. ( see attached pics ) Aside from all the cool key features this keyboard offers, the next best impressive thing is the battery life. Under typical use, they are projecting 2-years of use with standard alkaline AAA's. (it takes 2 batteries) That is some pretty impressive power usage. Switching between devices is very convenient, no need to open up any settings, or do anything else ( provided your 2 devices have already been paired ) . Just simply hit the device button you want, and start typing. Go back and forth between the two devices as often as needed without skipping a beat. The keyboard is compact, and has a very low profile, but feels very sturdy, the keys feel soft to the touch, and are relatively quiet, with just a light sound, depending on how hard or fast you are typing. Even though it is compact, it doesn't shift around at all when placed on a level surface. There are rubber stoppers on the bottom of the device to keep it from moving, but there is also a nice weight to it, which adds to holding it in place. I have actually typed this whole review with the K580, while it was sitting on a newspaper on my kitchen table, and it hasn't budged an inch. It really holds it's place very well. But does offer an impressive wireless range of slightly over 32 feet, for people that might like to lounge on the couch or anywhere else and still be able to use your devices.

Works with EVERY DEVICE I tried; iOS, TV, etc
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most of us reading this are likely all too familiar with the act of juggling multiple devices requiring screen input. Most of these devices have different input methods, between phone, tablet, laptop, PC, Smart-TV, media streamers, etc. In fact I’m typing this review on a 10.5” iPad Pro, linked to this keyboard. I wasn’t expecting it to work considering the Chrome OS identification in the product title, but to the contrary, it works great. The paring process is simple too - just press-hold one of the 2 grey quick connect buttons [1] or [2] for 3 seconds, (It will blink white to indicate it’s in pairing mode) -Next enter your Bluetooth settings on the device, click connect / pair, -then type a 6-digit numerical code on the Logitech, followed by Enter. That’s it! For giggles I wanted to test on other devices, and repeated this process with a half dozen different devices including * iPad Pro * Alienware gaming PC desktop, * MacBook Pro laptop, [one extra step, MBP had me tap a button next to the shift key, to identify it’s mapping) * Android Galaxy S8 phone * IPhone X phone * Sony XBR smart TV (complex WiFi password and searching YouTube, anyone? ) In fact, I could not find a device it would NOT work with, and did not even need to use the included under the hood mini USB stick. The feel and “click-iness” of the keys is near-perfect. Responsiveness is extremely fast, just like I’m using a wired desktop or built-in laptop keyboard. The Chrome OS shortcut buttons also worked on unexpected devices, screen brightness, play music, mute etc. PROS + scissor mechanism, trumps butterfly design used by others + dual-device support, w/ quick access [1] [2] grey keys (see photo) + seems to support ANY device accepting Bluetooth input (incl iPad) + good weighted feel to keys, with comfortable travel + super easy pairing, Press-hold 2 seconds to pair with new device + claimed 24 months on single pair of AAA batteries + phone cradle works great (my tablet too heavy) + ultra-slim form factor for ease of portability + standardized typing agnostic of device CONS -weighted tablet will topple keyboard (mine is 2017 with sloped edges, new design may be seated keeping iPad erect. -would love future version with touchpad -backlit keys, using in dark requires tactile familiarity CONCLUSION I’m truly very impressed by this keyboard, albeit my expectations where that this is for Chrome OS, but was pleasantly surprised. I can’t find anything it doesn’t work with. Well worth the price, I just wish it had backlit keys, but that would eat batteries and cut into the 2-year duration on a pair of AAA batteries.

quick pairing, true numeric keypad, smooth key fee
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Logi K580 keyboard is made for chrome but works just a well with android smartphones and tablets or windows PCs. The fact that the keyboard has a dedicated numeric cluster is always a plus in my book. This alone would have added an exra point if it were possible!. The top row has dedicated keys; previous page, refresh tab, dim-brighten display, play/pause, mute, lower-raise volume, menu setting drop down, The tactile feel of the full size buttons is perfect. all in the right place. Like other Logitech keyboards, there is a handy slot for your cell phone or tablet, but because the keyboard is so light, a heavy tablet caused it to fall backward.. Just so you know. Very quiet, perfect for use in public. Also as the ability to switch between one device and another, just by pressing one of two grey keys on the top row. Makes texting a message easy when your phone is nestled in the keyboards upper slot. Comes with a typical LOGI USB receiver for PC connection. Works and pairs easily with Bluetooth devices. Worked with my Motorola android phone and lenovo chromebook. Battery is replaceable and claims to last a year or two. I can believe that I put it through the paces over the last week to see how I liked it. And yes it worked very well.

Pretty Cool
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech - K580 Multi-Device Chrome OS Edition Wireless Membrane Keyboard in graphite is a pretty cool. The outside of the box states that there is a keyboard, 2 AAA batteries, a USB receiver, and user documentation. At first, I wondered where the batteries and the receiver were, that they had been left out of the box, but then I realized that there was a compartment, the light gray area at the top. That I figured out that I needed to slide that light gray lid back and ultimately off, pressing upward. So, when you look at the light gray oval recessed area at the top that you slide off, that recessed oval area can be used to stand your cell phone up in as you use the easy switch button 2 to type your texts or whatever else you might type on your cell phone. You can find the top row has 2 light gray buttons labeled 1 and 2, just to the right of the up volume key. The only problem that I found is that that tray for the phone is not wide enough if you use an otter box to protect your phone-it is not wide enough and you would have to take the outer part of that box off. This keyboard is not costly, but it does have quit a few really good features. As their brochure says, it is "crafted for Chrome OS" with fn buttons that bring up Chrome shortcuts. However, the thing that I liked the most is the multi-device connectivity. Through a USB receiver I have button 1 connecting the keyboard to my desktop computer and through button 2 I used Bluetooth to connect to my android Samsung S7 cell phone. I love using this to type my texts. It is a sleek and compact and very easily transportable in a backpack or brief case to literally be on the go. It is quiet to use and the brochure also states that the battery should last up to 24 months of use because there is an auto-sleep feature built in to preserve the battery life. Clearly, I have used this keyboard for less than 1 week so I cannot vouch for that. The keyboard is flat and does not have any risers so I purchased a non-skid keyboard riser and have put it on to give it a little more comfort.

Perfect Chromebook/Phone keyboard!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech K580 Chrome OS Edition wireless keyboard is the perfect keyboard for your Chromebook and or phone. You have two options to connect this keyboard to your Chrome device, phone, or PC, either Bluetooth or the small unifying receiver that you need to plug into a USB type A slot. All my computers and chrome books recognized both devices right after I plugged in the receiver and the BT pairing was a breeze as well. You can BT pair up to two devices and switch between them with the two gray buttons on the keyboard. Typing on the keyboard takes a little getting used to when you are coming from a windows-based keyboard, but if you are used to the Chromebook keyboards then you will be right at home here. For example, where the windows key is usually located you have the google assistant key now and the Caps Lock button is the search button (which acts like the windows key on the PC). On the Chromebook device this works perfectly though. The travel on the keys is very minimal and is very quiet to type on as well and it is a pleasure to use. Battery power is provided in the form of two AAA batteries and they should last a long time. There is an auto sleep feature of this keyboard that will allow that to be the case and, in my opinion, and experience with Logitech products, they do last a long time and you never have to worry about replacing batteries that often. I do enjoy the 10-key addition on the keyboard and still keep the design small for the limited amount of space that I have on my desk. I love using this keyboard and it does make typing out emails from my phone so much easier while I am at my desk. I do have a Galaxy Note 10+ with a slim case on it and it does fit. In the picture I have my Note8 with a slim case for reference. Pros: Long battery life Compact design Quiet keystrokes Well-built and sleek design Phone cradle in the design FN + F keys work well BT or Unifying receiver options Price Easily switch between 2 BT devices Cons: None!

If you love your phone, but hate typing on it.....
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay so I was looking forward to this coming out for so long, because this is EXACTLY what I need. I type a lot on my personal and work phones, but it gets old trying to type a lot of information and quickly, on the phone keyboards. It just isn’t something I enjoy doing. But it is necessary, at least for me. So, my quandary. Do I get out the laptop to do a logical reply to an important email, or can I type it out on a keyboard while looking at my phone’s screen? Well, this solves that problem! I am typing this on the Logitech K580 keyboard, which is the Chrome and Android version, despite the fact I’m using an iPhone XS Max and an iPhone 7. So I’m using this for both of my phones and it works like a charm! I’m so elated, this is exactly what I’ve needed for years. Been on travel or at a meeting and didn’t want to bring the laptop? Have to return messages or emails? Like to type out notes on your phone but hate trying to do on the phone keyboard? This does all of that. Frankly I know it can work with your computer too, it includes the dongle to do so. But honestly, this is all I need to complete my technology life at work and at home. My iPhone XS Max doesn’t fit in the cool slot because of my huge Otterbox Defender case, but guess what? I put it just in front of the keyboard using my Otterbox’s holster kickstand! And it is works so well. Screen can be pinched to zoom in if text is too small. Can change between work and personal phones with the touch of a key on the keyboard. The keyboard is similar to another Logitech slim model that came out and it is so nice. Thin profile. Looks great with the dark gray (mostly) with lighter silver trim. The battery is rated for 24 months, which for me would be impossible, but I’ll let you know if it works out given how much I type in a day. If I get a year, I’ll be thrilled. This keyboard has a full sized layout WITH a numeric keyboard on the right. Absolutely I’m in heaven with this! Take it for what it is worth, I’ve been living the nightmare of trying to type messages quickly and fully, with the phone’s built in keyboard, only to regret sending it because it was too truncated. This keyboard solves that. A must have for anyone going into meetings, returning a lot of messages, or someone who doesn’t want to always have to lug their laptops around, if they even have connectivity wherever they are going with it. 100% satisfied, this is such a great tool for helping make your life more efficient. I’ll be using this so much I won’t know how to live if it ever breaks!

This guy will show up every day for you
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Short and sweet, there isn't anything flashy or exciting about this keyboard. It is like the old car that is still around but doesn't look fancy. This keyboard is however so easy to use and setup. Everything is where it should be and it is a nice board. It follows Logitech design language and the color scheme is familiar in this compact low profile well rounded keyboard. It works with Windows and also Chrome and Android devices I've tested as well. The keystrokes feel eerily similar to those on the PixelBook. It is a tactile mushy scissor key press that you will be used to if you use laptops often. It is built of plastic but does NOT feel cheap. It is engineered to be strong and hold up to daily use. The K580 offers two ways to connect devices and you can be connected to them simultaneously which brings another facet to the multitasking game. Simply by pressing a button you can move between the USB receiver and Bluetooth. There are different ways to make this keyboard work with hot keys on different operating systems. You will have to search a little. The only thing I don't like is the lack of angles for the phone to sit in. The current angle is almost vertical if you have your phone in a case. It is a good idea that needs to be refined but other than that, there are no complaints with this device. In all, this is a buy!

Excellent multi-device keyboard for most users!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent multi-device keyboard, not only for chromebook. The marketing behind this keyboard is what sold me. In it you see it connected to a Mac, as well as other devices it’s marketed for. None of the specifications I read specified minimum specs for anything else other than Android or ChromeOS. The only thing that mentioned Windows was a pamphlet that came in the box. Nothing mentioned on the actual box. So finding out that it works with everything else (iOS, Windows, Chrome, Mac OS, and Android) was a pleasant surprise. Fair warning, OS specific keys don’t always integrate with one another. Integration is a breeze, takes a couple seconds to pair after holding the device key for 2 seconds. The rugged feel of the keys gives off a nice feel when typing. And the overall layout of the board makes it ideal for majority of users.

Slim profile, Great Design, Works with Everything
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a very good wireless keyboard that has worked with all the devices that I have tried it with so far (Samsung Galaxy S9+, nVidia Shield Tablet, iPad and Windows Desktop). From a keyboard perspective, the things that I like are: 1) Keys have nice surface texture and the clicky feeling when they are pressed 2) They layout and number pad 3) Dedicated keys for Google Search and Google Assistant Now, in terms of ease of use, here are the positives: 1) The groove to hold your phone and/or tablet is a great idea and very useful feature. I usually work on my desktop and have G613 for it. But I keep this next to me with my phone plugged in and I can easily respond to texts. This makes multi tasking really easy. 2) Pairing/connecting to devices is super easy. I have tried connecting it to my desktop via wireless adapter as well as bluetooth. Both mechanism are easy and quick. 3) It can connect to two devices at the same time and you can switch between them via dedicated keys for device select. Overall, this is a great, versatile wireless keyboard which works with everything. The design is sleek and practical. You can't go wrong with this.

Slim and Neatly Crafted Design
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, a bit about how I’m using the keyboard is for the five computers in my house. It’s amazing to be able to just plug in the USB adapter or use Bluetooth to keep it wireless. I love it, and at first I thought the cradle for my phone was useless but actually it was a great idea that Logi introduced. I actually found that typing on my computer and then typing on my keyboard for texts made it faster to multitask. I haven’t even tapped in on the battery life or needed to change batteries but I am excited for the longevity. My favorite aspects of the keyboard are how slim and easy it was to get up and running. You can also toggle between synched devices so I’m not constantly linking things up. Another score is a slot inside the keyboard to store the USB adapter. I’ve had many wireless mice and I lose those things. This can’t happen with the small compartment at the top. Great keyboard to save space, for a desk with limited space or even a college student on the go!

Simple, Portable, Effective
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recieved Logitech - K580 Multi-Device Chrome OS Edition Wireless Membrane Keyboard - Graphite as a review item from the Bestbuy Tech Insider Network. After using it for few days, and conclude this keyboard is pretty cool. It's pretty standard affair, a dongle to plug into a ChromeOS, Windows setup to have a slim keyboard. I used it on my 65" Hisense Android TV and was impressed with the plug and play aspect, which makes typing in login or searching the Play Store quicker, when voice control sometimes doesn't understand my requests. Additionally, the Bluetooth option is very simple to use. You hold down one of the 2 device switch buttons for a couple seconds to start pairing. Find Keyboard from list on phone, tablet, etc. and enter the passkey and that's it. It'll also give the option to go in and learn the key combos to navigate using the keyboard with the phone, tablet, etc. Generally using the Keyboard is enjoyable and simply effective. Pros: - Logitech - Thin, no fuss design - Can control a number of functions of my phone which is super useful - The two "Device Switch" keys are very useful for when I have the dongle plugged into my PC and want to switch to my Galaxy Note 10 over Bluetooh - Num Pad is VERY useful to me and I love that it's there. - Device holder slot is useful, can hold phones portrait and landscape, if using a tablet, I feel it could fit about an 8" tablet max in portrait only. Cons: - The virtual keyboard on an Android phone or tablet will still show up on the screen which is annoying but not the Keyboard's fault. (Maybe something I need to do to on my phone). - Thin plastic design gives worry to longevity. - Device holder can't be used with thicker cases i.e. Otterbox Overall, this is a great keyboard with great range uses, even used it to right this review connected to my Samsung Galaxy Note 10. This will be my go to keyboard when Samsung releases wireless DEX.

For Chrome OS and Android
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard design is slim, modern, and amazingly quiet. soft keys are very responsive. It is designed to work with Chrome OS devices and Android phones via Multi-Device keys (1 and 2 gray colored) to switch between two devices after 2 devices are assigned by each key already. Available shortcuts to work on Chrome and Android; Google assistant, search key, volume control, brightness. I like the fact that this keyboard has 2 ways to connect wirelessly either via 2.4 GHz USB receiver "stored in the top gray cover where battery is inserted or Bluetooth considering Bluetooth for Android phones. according to Logitech manual, Keyboard battery lasts 24 months. Compact, quiet, versatile, and lightweight. My HP Chrome laptop is happy now!!

Nice solid and practical keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am both a Windows and Chrome OS user. I use a laptop and a Chromebook for my everyday and work related tasks. I am finding myself using my Chromebook more often as their quality and Chrome OS has been more practical for me and my needs. At times when I need to be more mobile where I don't use my laptop or Chromebook, using my phone or tablet with a keyboard would be helpful. That's where I see how, again, practical, the Logitech k580 keyboard is. Pros: Layout: very similar to a Chromebook so if you are familiar with Chromebooks, you no longer have the Function keys at the top. From the top you will find: ESCape, Previous Page arrow, Refresh Current page, Full Screen, Show all opened windows, Decrease Screen Brightness, Increase Screen Brightness, Play/pause, Volume off, Volume On, Raise Volume buttons. Next to those you find new buttons which switch from either connecting to a laptop or a mobile device (tablet or phone). What is also great is the Google Assistant button (where a Windows key would be on most keyboards) at the bottom left near the Space bar. I'm glad that they kept the keyboard as close to a Chromebook, or Google Chromebook as possible. -Slot for your phone. There is a 6.75" slot at the top of the keyboard for your cell phone. Once connected, I was able to place my iPhone XR there and able to resume typing with no fear of it falling out. -USB connection. You can remove the light gray portion at the top of the keyboard and you will find the battery slot and a USB connector for your laptop or Surface computer. I found this very helpful because you have that option of utilizing the Chrome OS keyboard on practically any type of device. Again, I like the simplicity that Chrome OS keyboards provide for my daily needs and I don't have to keep looking up what the Function keys are supposed to do (now I do know). -Solid Build. This keyboard is pretty solid build and has some weight to it. It doesn't feel cheap nor do I fear it will break easily in my bag. Cons: -The slot: I like having a case for my cell phones and the slot does not allow enough space (unless you have a very slim case) for you to slide it in. Overall, I am very impressed with the K580. I am finding myself using it everyday!

Must Have ChromeOS Keyboard!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup Setup was very easy and this paired immediately to my Google Pixel Slate tablet. There are two pairing keys located at the top of the keyboard for setting up multiple devices. I set the Slate up on profile 1. Keyboard Layout The Logi k580 is a nice solid ChromeOS keyboard. The size is compact while still providing a full keyboard experience. The silver bar at the top paired with the black body matched most devices this would pair with. The keyboard layout for the most part is a standard QWERTY keyboard with number pad to the right. There are special keys that interact with ChromeOS specifically. There is no CAPS LOCK key. Instead, it is replaced with the ChromOS App Launcher shortcut which I found to be very useful. Where you would normally find the “Windows” key or “Command” key on a PC or Mac keyboard, this one has the Google Assistant button. This is also useful when calling upon the assistant to help with specific web pages or to ask it a question. The top row of keys where the F keys normally would be are swapped for other functions, such as; brightness, volume, app switching, full screen mode, screen lock, and even a hamburger menu key. I found all of these keys to provide an experience on ChromeOS that almost eliminated the need for touch or even a mouse. You can do EVERYTHING within the OS with just key presses. At the very top of the keyboard is a tray for a pen/stylus or a place to put your smart phone for easy texting. This is especially nice since the Google Slate offers no solution for the pen. This gives it a home so it does not roll off the table/desk. Using it with a smart phone can be multi tasked with a PC or Mac by taking advantage of the dual profile keys. Press 1 for PC and Press 2 for smartphone. This is nice since for quick texting where pulling up messages in a web browser is not an option. Battery and Charging This was a bit confusing as to where the batteries are located. The top part of the keyboard (where the tray is located) slides up revealing 2 batteries and a USB dongle for non-Bluetooth devices. Conclusion If you are a ChromeOS or Android user, this is an excellent accessory for these devices. It offers a wealth of quick shortcuts to navigate ChromeOS and plenty of usability opportunity for Android as well. I highly recommend this as a must have for any ChromeOS setup and a very nice to have with a PC or Mac setup if using an Android smart phone.

Exemplary ChromeOS Keyboard
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this keyboard. It is very premium. Though I have only had a few days, I wanted to go ahead and review. It's a perfect addition to any Chrome device (especially a Chromebox, which is my main reason of purchasing, or a convertible Chromebook). The key travel and spacing are great! I love being able to switch between texting on my phone and my Chromebook with a button click. If I had one niggling complaint - the slot that holds the phone/tab/etc just doesn't allow the device to tilt back very much. My iPhone 8+ stands pretty much straight up, so it makes it a bit hard to see, but this is minor to me. Top notch, Logitech!

Logitech keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard itself is very quiet and there are no annoying clicks as you type. The keys are very smooth as well. The only downside to the keyboard is the lack of a caps lock key? I use capitals often for various projects and really miss the feature.
