Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the AirPods Max's sound quality, comfort, battery life, design, color, connectivity, fit, and transparency mode. However, some customers find them to be a bit pricey, heavy, and expensive. Additionally, the case could be better quality and the volume could be louder.

I want to say that it took me about two months of researching to validate the price market of $500. I spent countless hours watching YouTube videos and reading reviews because I needed some reassurance that my $500 purchase would be worth every penny. Every review and video is consistent; this product is about quality. You get quality sound, quality noise cancellation, and overall great quality music experience with the spatial audio feature. I picked these up since my AirPods Pro got killed in the washing machine. I used those everyday and figured this was an opportunity to upgrade. The first thing I noticed was the quality of my favorite sounds. This also did really well with gaming; the spatial audio really shines here. Another thing which I use these for is SLEEP! These are actually very comfortable to wear; regardless of them being “heavy,” they are oh so comfortable when using to sleep. I have a partner who sleeps late at night and likes to keep the TV on, so the noise cancellation just takes out all the sound when I pop in some sleep sounds like rain or space deck videos on YouTube. Only issue I ever had was the Bluetooth (I have my headset connected to about 6 different devices; both mixture of Pc and Apple) there are times I have to reconnect my device by holding down the Digital Crown since it won’t pickup the device from previous connections. Overall, it’s based on what your expectations and preferences are for headphones. This one really just set the bar for me. Also, I would highly recommended trying these out at the very least being that you can just refund it if it’s not something you’re happy with. All out honesty; $500 is a lot for a pair of headsets, but I can’t complain because these headsets have become part of my everyday life. If the price tag is too much, I would recommend sticking to the AirPods or do some research on other alternatives.

I was given some AirPods (wireless) as a gift. I use them, but I’m not a big fan of earbuds. I have a pair of Bose soundlink headphones. They sound pretty good but wanted a pair of noise cancelling headphones. I tried the Sony Xm4s in the store and I didn’t care for them. I feel their base is overkill. Didn’t like the bose 700 either. To be honest I’m know audiophile, but I felt the sound of my apple AirPods wasn’t bad. I had made a comment to my wife before the apple air pod max were released that I wished apple made some over the ear headphones. They did!! I’m very deep in the Apple ecosystem. Apple Music, MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone 12 Pro Max etc. I know their products are pricey but they last. I love the sound and the build quality of my air pod max headphones. It makes my Bose soundlink headphones sound cheap. Spatial audio is awesome!!! Really no words to describe it. I know these are pricey, but I just love the vintage style and build quality of these headphones. It reminds me of my cameras. I have a Nikon D3 and Nikon D750. The bullied quality of my D3 makes my 750 feel like a toy. Build quality is important to me. I don’t know if I would recommend these for someone that is not invested in Apple. If you are, in my opinion these are worth it. You pay for quality.

These are excellent but worth > $500? Not really enough of a benefit and my Bose and Beats over the ear headphones have similar quality.

I debating buying these for about a year before actually purchasing them and let me tell you… I am beyond happy with them. As far as battery life and connectivity they are absolutely flawless. The audio quality is just absolutely out of this world! Exactly what i had expected if not better! The unboxing bit of it of course feels like any other apple product and it felt rather luxurious unwrapping such gorgeous headphones. Now for my FAVORITE part, the options for noise cancellation and transparency modes are insane! Theres an option that almost makes my hearing better, it amplifies the audio outside of the headphones and can be really helpful when youd like to listen to music but still have to interact with others. I also really enjoy this feature for the feeling of safety in public with them! One of the things that originally deterred me from buying them was a review i saw where they commented on the weight. The weight is not too heavy, but you can tell theyre durable. I think these are perfect for anyone between the range of everyday commuter to people that need accommodations while in public. I could not recommend these enough. If i could spend the rest of my life with one piece of tech, itd be these.

Purchased this product for my wife upgrading from some older style headphones.. and I must say we were VERY impressed. First the overall comfort - it is light weight and comfortable to wear for hours on end. Great battery life and overall the color just pops which makes this a very modern attractive product. Lastly the music output/quality is amazing compared to other brand on the market. The price is a bit much but well worth the purchase especially while on sale. 10/10 would recommend.

For Apple's first attempt at over-ear headphones, these are a pretty good set of headphones. I want them to be great headphones, especially being in the Apple ecosystem. I do like them, but they need to figure out the battery issue. Noise-canceling is awesome. Transparency mode is awesome. I do wish there was some adjustable settings in-between those two but for now it is all or nothing. These things are heavy compared to most other headphones, but they are comfortable on the ears and the headband (goofy as it looks) is comfortable as well. The phone call quality is excellent. The audio quality is pretty good as well (not an audiophile, but sounded good to my ears). The build quality is nothing short of spectacular. Unfortunately, the battery issue is real. I cannot understand not having an on/off button, but I could accept that if the headphones properly conserved power, which they do not. When I don't put them in the case, they will lose 10-12% per night (about 14 hours from the time I stop work until I start again in the morning). When I put them in the horribly designed, handbag case it is even worse. I lose 20-30% per night in something that is supposed to conserve power immediately. For now, I have just taught myself that these are a device that needs to be charged every night, just like my iPhone and Apple Watch. It should not be like this. Either Apple needs to fix the power conservation mode or allow for one of the buttons to turn them on and off. Here's hoping to a software fix soon. Other than that one, major issue, these headphones are near the top-of-class in everything else. Unfortunately, for a lot of people the battery issue will be a non-starter. You will need to decide for yourself if that is the case based on your use and needs.

    Price and Comfort are Obstacles

Disclaimer: Fully invested in the Apple eco-system but also fiddle around with other OSes and devices. Sound quality: These have great sound for Bluetooth headphones. They are crisp and have great bass. Sony's have sounded muddy to me anytime I've listened to them. Sure, they hit hard but it distorts and muddies everything up. Bose do not have good bass thump but have great performance on classical music. These hit the sweet spot on both ends. Yet, it isn't perfect. They simply do not get loud compared to other headphones. I'm not going to knock them to much for this fact. Comfort: I've been wrestling with this item on my headphone list. These are heavy and I definitely have head fatigue. I'm sure this isn't the case for everyone but for me they simply are too heavy for long periods of wear at this point. I'm going to give them a few more days to see if things improve, if it doesn't then I'll be returning them. Eco-System: if you aren't fully in the Apple ecosystem stay away. You can pick up good enough Bluetooth headphones for far cheaper. Case: well it's not much of a case. It's bad. If it is anything like the Apple keyboards for iPad Pros then it will age disastrously. Verdict: At $550 before tax, the AirPods Max have great sound quality for Bluetooth headphones, I've wanted to love them but I find myself reaching for my AirPods Pro far more frequently due to their portability and comfort. They have a great build quality but it is the choice of materials that make them uncomfortably heavy. As a result, I believe these are a premium product that only the true Apple loyalist will embrace fully. As for this tech lover, I simply am not sold on these due to comfort and price.

The AirPods Max deliver premium sound quality, industry-leading noise cancellation, and seamless integration with Apple’s ecosystem, making them a standout choice for audiophiles and Apple enthusiasts. With a sleek design, durable build, and comfortable fit, they provide an immersive listening experience enhanced by features like Spatial Audio and Transparency mode. While their high price and slightly heavy weight might deter some, the overall performance and Apple-centric features justify the investment for those seeking top-tier wireless headphones.

The apple airmax sound great and are super comfortable. They connect to my phone instantly and the noise-cancelling is great. The style is sleek but the downsides are the case isn’t the most practical and the price. Definitely on the pricier side.

I have twin girls and had to purchase 2 pairs. I was hesitant spending $550 per headset but can tell you it was worth it. The sound is crisp and the noise cancellation is excellent. My girls love them and use them everyday … even for homework.
