First let me say if you’re second guessing DONT! I watched YouTube reviews read every review in the comments and compared this laptop to many others for about 2 weeks before making this purchase and I’m overly impressed. The touchscreen is fast and responsive, it feels great and easy to set up and use. Great for school or work from home jobs. Overall I’m completely satisfied with my purchase!!

I brought this laptop almost a year ago, I love it because is very light and portable. Run faster, the software and applications are great. The only problem is broken easily from the two sides where is connected with the keyboard very easy, I can use it like tablet but it’s losing the internet connection. I couldn’t buy a protection plan when I purchased and now is trash. Everything else looks good

      Jamie,

We're sorry to hear about the connectivity issues that you've had with your computer so far. If you'd like to improve your WIFI capabilities you can try these steps:

      1. Download and install the latest Wireless Card driver. (https://dell.to/2th3Tpe) After updating the driver, re-establish the connection with the Wireless Access Point and check the wireless performance.
      2. If the issue persists, proceed to step 3.
      3. Power-cycle the local network. Shut down the Dell system, the Wireless Access Point/Router and the Modem. Wait a minimum of 60 seconds before powering up the components in the following order:
      4. Power ON the Modem, and wait for it to boot fully.
      5. Power ON the Wireless Access Point/Router, and wait for it to boot fully.
      6. Power ON the Dell system.
      7. Open Network and Sharing Center
      8. In the left side navigation pane, click on Change Adapter Settings
      9. Right click on the wireless connection icon and select Properties followed by the Configure button
      10. Under Wireless Options, select the Wireless N mode
      11. For Windows 8 or later systems click the Advanced tab and look for 802.11n Mode on the right you will be given the option to Enable or Disable. If the mode is not visible you may need to update your drivers and firmware.
      12. From the drop-down menu, choose Disable followed by Ok
      13. This should restore the wireless download and upload speed. Internet speed can be tested at http://speedtest.net.

      Best,
      Bryan

Great Laptop For The Price! My husband loves it!

This was purchased on Cyber Monday Week And was very reasonably priced so I got it for my husband. He really likes it and is able to use it for work. It has enough memory for his purposes and is fast and easy to operate. It is a nice size, larger than my Microsoft Surface laptop but still very comfortable for use. It comes with 6 months of anti-virus protection which is a plus. The only thing that might bother some people is that there is no back lighting which makes it seem dim to me even when it’s set at its brightest setting. My Surface has it which I love. I couldn’t see well enough with this one but it doesn’t bother my husband at all. If your eyes aren’t sensitive to dimness for typing, this might not bother you either. If it does, you might want to look for a laptop that has backlighting or something similar to help you see the screen easier. Just my honest opinion.

My mom has rheumatoid arthritis and osteo arthritis, her desktop became obsolete and after some research I thought that a laptop would be better. This one is great for her, because of the touch screen, she has been taking advantage of it, more than I do with my own laptop. Also it is light weight, so she can move it around the house and use it wherever she feels more comfortable sitting this day. The speed is also amazing!

I loved the size of the screen, the touch screen capabilities & the 8GB memory. Unfortunately, I bought it for my son and he wanted to use it for photoshop & gaming. He said it not have the capability to play the games he wanted. So, since I already have a computer and could not afford to keep it for myself, I reluctantly had to return it,

I got this for Black Friday and the price was great for my parents who just wanted to browse the website and check the email. Touch screen with this price was good for them since going thru using mouse is hard for them. I did need to set it up since Windows OS goes thru the settings which is cumbersome. You do need MS account and login... I know this is really not the OEM issue but Microsoft. That had been done but again if you do not do that, you need cell phone to login. I hope Microsoft will change these for people who do not use Microsoft online services....

Nice starter laptop. Battery drains when using it for an extended amount of time. Barely lasted 3 hour while transferring files over from my previous PC and phone, but I'm sure it'll last if it's idle. The 128 gb of SSD bis very small, however, so I recommend you upgrade it. I went with a 500 gb SSD from Samsung, and instill paid less than $400 for everything. A laptop with that type of storage usually comes with the Intel i5 or i7 and costs at least $600.

If you don't know that you need to set up the second hard drive, then you will only have the 128 GB SSD. Make sure to format the second one, and you will have a lot more space. Windows runs smoothly, can dual-boot Linux if I want, touchscreen is still working a year later. Has stood up to abuse for a year and keeps on going. My only complaints about it are with Windows, not the laptop itself.

I put off making this purchase for as long as I could not wanting to deal with the setup & remembering passwords, etc. I found soo much comfort in dealing with my dying 10 year old laptop. This has turned out to be a pleasant experience. I breezed through the setup and almost everything transitioned over. Also l love the new - at least for me -functionality of this laptop. Getting used to it has been an adventure which is fun. Originally I gave this a "Good" but as I write this I will change it to "Excellent" because it has already met & exceeded my needs and expectations.

This is a really good computer for the price. I bought this for my daughter's school work and it performs just fine for that. I wouldn't recommend this for gaming, graphics design, or running multiple applications for that matter. The touchscreen is a wonderful addition to this laptop so you don't have to have a mouse to scroll through your various apps and websites. Overall this is great laptop for the price.

Bought this machine for my mom for Christmas. Her old machine was 10+ years old. Very light weight and sleek. She loves the touch screen. She did purchase an external hard drive for additional space, but that’s been great because she doesn’t have to travel with the laptop all the time, she can just use the external and share things by plugging into our machines.

I bought this laptop because Win 7 will be going bye bye very soon. I write and record music, and I have a lot invested in my “old” top of the line Win 7 laptop. Going forward, I plan to use my Win 7 laptop as a stand-alone computer, totally off of the internet/home network. I bought this Dell laptop to handle everything else that I use the internet for. I haven’t started using my new Dell laptop yet - been too busy to get it set up and transfer files. From what I can tell, Win 10 will take some getting used to (which will eventually happen). Also, it seems like a lot of Microsoft and Google stuff that I don’t use are built in - kinda like bloatware. Hopefully I’m wrong about that ... I guess time will tell. People who are heavy into social networking and all that entails would probably like this laptop. I’m not that kind of person, which is why I only gave this laptop 4 stars.
