Very Smart Vacuum with a few flaws
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is awesome at what it does. It was very cool watching it map my house in the first pass. The app allows you to see where the vacuum is cleaning live. For the most part the vacuum is very good. I love being able to schedule specific rooms on a specific day, and the cleaning lines in the carpet it makes. It gives the home a very clean feeling. Only issue I really had with vacuum hence the 4 stars was with the app. I really wish you could add extra rooms without having the recreate the entire map. I had a room it totally missed except for the sensor detecting a patch of it. I can use the manual area clean the vacuum it. But I cant do the one touch area cleaning. Also it sometimes will get stuck under dresser when the wheels lift for clearance.

I never knew how much I needed this in my life!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start by saying, I was one of those people who scoffed at others with their robotic vacuums. I've heard family, friends, and co-workers talk about theirs, all while I thought "what a waste of money". Well after having my Ecovacs Deebot for a couple of weeks now I have to say - where has this been all my life? The time savings alone is huge. You have the ability to setup schedules, start cleaning remotely or manually, and schedule do not disturb times. It's so nice to come home and have the entire house vacuumed and mopped - yes mopped! One of the first things I was impressed with is what's provided in the box. This may seem minor, but to find Ecovacs included an extra set of side brushes and a replacement filter was a pleasant surprise. Not many companies provide you with replacement parts these days. Kudos Ecovacs, well done. This is a solid, well-built machine. Absolutely no part of this device feels cheap or flimsy. It seems Ecovacs put a lot of intelligent thought into the design, build, and features set, and it shows. This is high quality piece of technology. Setup was incredibly easy. There is some minor assembly required, such as snapping in the side brushes. Nothing laborious or requiring tools. Honestly the hardest part of getting the Ozmo T5 ready to go was deciding where to place the charging base. Total setup time was approximately 15 minutes, including unboxing, installation, and downloading and setting up the app. It is recommended to fully charge the vacuum prior to first use, and while each user will have a different experience, my initial charge took approximately two hours and it was ready to go. You should expect the first cleaning to take a little longer than subsequent uses, as the T5 will map out the environment. The main level of my home is approximately 1200sf, and the initial cleaning lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes. All cleanings since have been around 1 hour 10 minutes. It should be noted, for those with multi-level homes, the T5 can map out and save three different map areas. You also have the ability, from within the app, to clean specific rooms or areas. This is helpful if you don't need to clean the entire house, just a specific room or area. Another impressive feature is the ability of this device to not only vacuum carpets, but also to mop floors - simultaneously! The T5 can differentiate what type of surface it is cleaning and self-adjust. For thicker carpets it will increase the suction, while automatically decreasing suction on less thick surfaces, whether that be carpet, tile, hardwoods, etc. Incredibly, the T5 can also sense if it is on a surface that requires vacuuming versus mopping, so you don't end up mopping your carpets. How well does this robotic vacuum clean? I'm glad you asked. AMAZINGLY! Look, a vacuum can have all the technology and cool features in the world, but if it doesn't perform its basic level functions well (vacuuming) then what's the point?! I vacuumed my carpets and swept my hard surfaces two days prior to the first use of my T5. While I won't give the specific brand name, I have a higher end traditional vacuum. I was totally shocked at how much the T5 was able to clean. I honestly expected to find very little in the on-board container. What I found was a nearly full container. We are a pet-free home and only one child, so I can't attest to homes with heavier use or pet hair. This vacuum is considerably more quiet than its traditional counterparts. I have been able to watch TV without increasing the volume. I should also mention the lines left on carpets are straight and very aesthetically pleasing. Something nearly impossible to obtain with a traditional vacuum. Very straight lines, and none of the "V" or "rainbow" patterns. Should the T5 encounter an issue it will give an audible "verbal" notification, as well as a notification to your phone or device via the app.It will also notify you when cleaning has started and ended using the same methods. The T5 is very good at working through and around obstacles, without damaging itself or your home. I was surprised at the spaces this vacuum was able to get into. Under beds, couches, chairs, etc. and moving around obstacles. I've had only one experience in which I needed to intervene. This was a charging cord left on the floor which wrapped around the main brush. The T5 paused cleaning, gave me a verbal notification, and made its way from under the couch to the center of the living room floor. I simply removed the cord, and yes it was incredibly easy, then the vacuum continued on its way heading back to the spot where it had previously paused cleaning. I am incredibly satisfied with my Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T5 robotic vacuum. This is totally my go-to now for everyday vacuuming and mopping. There is simply nothing bad to say. If you are in the market, or on the fence about purchasing a robotic vacuum - do it! I have no qualms about recommending this amazing piece of technology. You NEED this in your life!

Its Ok
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum does an OK job. It does a great job vacuuming and picking up trash around the house, dust, hair and just the everyday mess. Its a pretty quiet machine, unless you put in on max suction then it gets pretty loud, but for the most part it doesn’t bother me.It Maps out the cleaning area nicely and it does go around several times. You do need to download the app in case you encounter a problem it will tell you there whats wrong. You can also operate the Vacuum from the app as well schedule clean ups, set Vacuum power (suction)and adjust several other settings. I let my run during the night so my toddler doesn’t mess with it. The best part is that as soon as its done doing its job it goes back to the charging dock.As for the mopping, I don’t think it does a great Job. You are only supposed to add water to the Reservoir, You cannot add any floor cleaner. I do find my floors(Tile) still dirty after its done mopping. Even on simple stains on the floor it doesn’t get them out. I give it a 3 stars. Great Vacuum just not a great “mopping”machine.

Amazing vacuum/mop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this thing. It’s incredible. Its super smart. It’s draws a map of your floor plan in the app as it drives around so it doesn’t miss spots, marks where carpet is and adjusts suction or doesn’t mop there and even marks chair legs and cautiously drives around them. The app meanwhile has all kinds of setting adjustments like suction power, mop water flow, and the ability to set cleaning schedules just to name a few. Although I got this as a timesaver, I’m addicted to watching it draw out my floor plan while working and seeing it interact with obstacles. It does a really good job of sweeping In front of itself while mopping from the back. It even ran over a blanket that was hanging down, got stuck, lifted itself off the blanket, backed up and then kept going. If you have pets and/or hard floors, you know how dust, fur, crumbs, and dirt just pile up over time. This vacuum mop Eliminates the need to dust, sweep, and vacuum weekly. Once I stop watching it in amazement, it will be an excellent time saver and a great help around the house. A true 5 star product!

Works well but App issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This robotic vacuum actually works pretty well once you can get the app installed on your phone. It wont completely replace your upright vacuum in my personal opinion, but it will keep things tidy in between deep cleans. The fact that it can mop as well is great and works fairly well. Again every now and then you'll likely still want to hit the area with a traditional mop to get any little crevasse that the robot might miss, but overall does a pretty thorough job. Includes a replacement filter, 5+ mop/dust pads, the mop attachment, and a brushless "direct suction" attachment for hardwoods/tile. Took about an hour to cover 500sq/ft of vacuuming in the rooms I set it loose in, that included learning the floor layout. This robot can learn multiple areas and multiple floors of your home so should work for most. The set-up for a multi-floor home isn't the most straight forward process but once you find the setting its easy to get going from there. Now in regards to getting the app on your phone is something they need to work on. Their current "Ecovacs Home" app is not actually available in the Google Play store. Only the older Deebot software is available which does not control the newer ozmo t5. I ended up getting the app directly from the manufacture website as an .apk file. This allowed me to install the app and get the robot functional but I had to change security settings on my phone to allow a .apk file not downloaded from the play store to be installed. Not sure about the Apple app, I don't have an IPhone. I see this as a fairly major hurdle for most and I think it would result in some just simply deciding to return the vacuum instead of figure out how to install the app which is unfortunate as the vacuum/mop works fine otherwise. Functionality wise its great, just make sure you know how to install a .apk file not downloaded from the play store if you are an android user. Hopefully they fix this soon.

I thought it was going to be better.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pretty excited, and my expectations were high for this product. When I finally received it I couldn't wait to get started! Open the box and read the directions to how to operate the bot. It took me a little bit longer to get started, because I didn't know how to use QVC on my phone to scan the bot for the app. It actually didn't do a bad job cleaning and mopping, but my home has the sunken living room which makes it a little more difficult because I have to put the bot on the sunken part. I did like the fact that when the battery got low, it recharged and finish where it left off. I did see parts that it couldn't reach and it missed a lot a places because of it's size and it could not fit tables, chairs, furniture Ect. For the most part it did clean up the main areas and the mop feature was great! I believe they cut your cleaning time in half, but you still have to clean because of furniture and places that it can't reach. I'm going to try to do some adjustments and probably watch a video to see if there's something I'm doing wrong. I do like it though and still would probably recommend it to a friend, because if you have a single level, it will do most of the work for you.

Last Robot Vac You'll Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had two Robot vacs before this, Bobsweep and Neato D5. While the Neato D5 said it uses Lasers, it still seemed to vacuum randomly and always had missed spots. The D5 also struggled on area rugs and carpets. I won't even mention Bobsweep because it was a cheaper model. This T5 tops all vacuums with it's precision mapping and cleaning. I have a husky who sheds a lot,and the automatic boost on rugs and carpets really do a good job of getting that thick fur out. The no go lines work really well as well as spot cleaning. The set-up was super easy. The price is really high, but if you buy this, you'll never have to buy another robot vac in the near future since this has all th current bells and whistles.

App & Mapping are Frustrating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve tried to do an entire map of my house three times now to no avail. The first time, I didn’t know it needed to be in ADVANCED MODE & CONTINUOUS CLEANING to create a map. It’d be nice if the app walked you through that important detail first instead of having to figure it out by googling. The only thing it tells you to do before you create a map is to tidy up. The last two times I’ve tried to map it said a brush was tangled (when it wasn’t). Both times it happens literally right before it’s almost done mapping & then it says “Creating New Map.” And you have to wait 6 hours between charges just to start all over again! It’s all very frustrating—why can’t a robot save the map it’s started to create without having to start all over? The vacuuming has very good suction. I haven’t gotten to the mopping yet because I just want to get a dang map done for once. I wish I’d bought it through Amazon because I’d have returned it by now. (I missed the 15 day cutoff for Best Buy). So now I’m stuck with it.
