Runs pretty fast. Battery could be better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this for about a month now. I use it for streaming, school, etc. Good storage and very sleek look but it is prone to getting finger print marks on the outside. Good price for the 8gb ram and intel processor though. Switch it from s-mode in less than five minutes when you get it - google it. Good speakers too and webcam is not bad.

Best laptop ever
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to use, love the storage and the touch screen. My very picky child that made me purchase 3 different laptops has not complained once about this one but only gives praises, so I’m very happy they were a great match.

Really good computer.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good computer. For Zoom too. My Zoom meetings can last up to 2hrs. It's a great computer for basic work. Screen leaves quite a bit to be desired though. It's has a plasma screen reflection feel to it. It's not crisp clear LCD/LED type screen. Also, the exterior is a fingerprint magnet. But it doesn't bother me too much... especially for the price. Price is good for what you get.

DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is good looking. The screen is nice and bright and the colors are great. THAT IS THE ONLY GOOD THING I CAN SAY ABOUT IT. The specs on this computer are all at least 2Xs as good as the computer I'm replacing so it should be faster and better on all counts. Like I said, the only thing I found to be better is the screen and graphics. I've had nothing but problems but I continued to use it to see if I was rushing judgment. Well, that was a mistake because Best Buy only gives you 15 days to return a $500 computer. So now I'm stuck with it. BUT YOU AREN'T! Do not buy this junk. It freezes constantly, won't connect or stay connected to the wi-fi, I have to constantly restart it, it takes me literally hours to get it back working and even then it's so slow that I can type a whole line before it starts showing it on the screen. Most of my work is online so I end up losing work that I've completed because the computer freezes or disconnects from the internet. There have been a bunch of times, I try to put the cursor somewhere to correct a mistake and no matter what I do, the cursor goes somewhere else. Then the computer will start highlighting things, making things bold, etc. on it's own and try as I might, I can't get back to them to fix them until I re-start the computer and start all over (losing any work in the process). I'm not sure I've remembered all the issues but I think it's clear this computer is a nightmare. Also, on a side note, don't type on it or touch it in any way or you will end up with messy fingerprints that don't wipe off easily everywhere! So all the casing on the sides of the keyboard and the cover are so messy this computer looks like I've owned it for years and it's been through the wringer! I purchased it 27 days ago. Kind of hard to get it to show in the pic but I included one so you can kind of see what I mean. I'm very disappointed. I've been buying Dell's for years and have always been happy with them. I may have to re-think that.

Posted .Tammy2772,
Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about your experience with your new Dell computer. It's possible that there are software and driver updates available for your computer that you can check here: https://dell.to/34QvdLl.
If you are still having connection issues we'd recommend the following:
1. Download and install the latest Wireless Card driver. (https://dell.to/2th3Tpe) After updating the driver, re-establish the connection with the Wireless Access Point and check the wireless performance.
2. If the issue persists, proceed to step 3.
3. Power-cycle the local network. Shut down the Dell system, the Wireless Access Point/Router and the Modem. Wait a minimum of 60 seconds before powering up the components in the following order:
4. Power ON the Modem, and wait for it to boot fully.
5. Power ON the Wireless Access Point/Router, and wait for it to boot fully.
6. Power ON the Dell system.
7. Open Network and Sharing Center
8. In the left side navigation pane, click on Change Adapter Settings
9. Right click on the wireless connection icon and select Properties followed by the Configure button
10. Under Wireless Options, select the Wireless N mode
11. For Windows 8 or later systems click the Advanced tab and look for 802.11n Mode on the right you will be given the option to Enable or Disable. If the mode is not visible you may need to update your drivers and firmware.
12. From the drop-down menu, choose Disable followed by Ok
13. This should restore the wireless download and upload speed. Internet speed can be tested at http://speedtest.net.
Lastly, to help with your performance issues we'd recommend running the Windows Performance Troubleshooter:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
3. Click Control Panel.
4. Click System and Security.
5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
8. Restart the PC.

Good Value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Value if you are considering between a PC and Chromebook You get MORE: 128 GB SSD = Fast Windows Boot time 1TB HDD = PLENTY of storage to store pictures, phone backups, etc 8 GB memory = Standard Usually 4GB; good performance Touch Screen = Usually a premium feature for higher end laptops Performance: Runs Office 365 WELL Multi-tab on browser performance is good too Battery Life is pretty good Overall a good build with just enough processing and memory to do the everyday tasks. Video resolution is not that great 1366 x 768, but you could always use an external monitor through the HDMI port. Physically the laptop feels sturdy and solid. This laptop will do 90% of the things a student or remote business user needs. Plays streaming videos back very well. Don't forget to take the device out of Windows 10 "S" mode.

Great laptop for home use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this Dell touch screen laptop to replace a 6 year old Toshiba laptop that screen went dark. Very satisfied with the speed and ease of use. Plenty of memory and storage for my needs. Only possible drawback for some would be the lack of a cd/rom drive. Not an issue for me. Good price at Best Buy. Ordered the laptop online and received the unit in 3 days.

A good bang-for-the-buck laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, this laptop offers a good value. The specifications are just right for what I need it for. It has ample resource to run all of the application that I need and the HDD storage is more than adequate. If I do need to upgrade storage, it's easier since the operating system and applications are stored on the separate SSD. Upgrading the HDD will not compromise the system. I can just replace the HDD with a bigger capacity when the time comes. Note - DO NOT use the SSD for storing files, it should only be used for installing/running the OS and Applications. Use the HDD for storage! Because the OS and applications are on the SSD, boot up is quick and application response is smooth. The laptop comes loaded with Windows 10 in S Mode but you can switch out of it to be able to run the normal version of Windows 10 Home. You can google it, to find out how. The touchscreen is a plus but at this point, I do not see the need for it since the lid cannot be flipped. Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with my purchase. The price vs specs ratio made sense to me, so I went ahead and got it. Almost a month in and no issues to report. Would I recommend this laptop? A solid YES. You get what you pay for and this is worth the purchase. I don't expect for anyone to trust me on this but this is my my background: CompTia A+, Network+, Server+ Linux+ Certified. How long will this laptop last with MY usage? I don't know. Technology is ever changing and if I don't decide to upgrade to a faster CPU or more memory and this lasts for at least a year; For $399? I'm happy.

Good Low Cost Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for low price. Its fast. Having a SSD drive for the operating system and the large HDD drive for file storage and as the 3rd party application drive works great and prevents speed issues. Great for average use. Intel graphics card is good, could be better, but for average use, it's great. If you plan to use the laptop beyond average type use, I would go higher quality or upgrade the graphics card. 8GB Memory is good for average windows 10 usage. I purchased upgraded memory to 32 GB for under $50 and installed it myself easily. (Be aware if you do self-install, you ay loose warranty benefit).

Needed purchase during Covid 19
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a laptop to work from home and needed one with a touch screen, SSD storage, 1TB memory and an amazing price. This laptop has been working great thus far and has satisfied all of my current work from home needs and has also allowed me to save my nonprofit organization information on here as well. I recommend this laptop as it works great from anywhere and for college students it brings great memory, it's a touch screen and processes very fast as an I3.
