Got this little wireless unit and the first thing I did was to charge it. I just pulled out the wall charger and plugged it in the body of the mixer. When I was ready to use it, I looked on the unit for the little picture near the mixing holes to tell me which mixing blade went into which hole and then started mixing my pancake batter on slow. There was very little sound, the mixing speed was slow enough that my powder from the pancake batter did not go flying all over the kitchen, and it mixed the batter really nice. It was easy to use, it was not heavy to hold, the handle was small enough to hold without a problem. I always wanted a KitchenAid mixer and now I am glad I waited, because now it is cordless, lightweight, sleek looking, quiet, and just everything I have been wanting in a mixer. I hope it keeps the charge and the battery will keep on charging for 20 years. That is the only other thing I can ask for.

KitchenAid products are the standard that all other companies are measured against. This mixer is second to none! This handheld mixer is awesome. It is stylish, compact, portable, and cord free. It packs plenty of mixing power for a handheld unit, which for my use was outstanding. So far I've used this mixer in the preparation of pancakes, cookie dough, and muffins with outstanding results. It handled the thorough mixing of ingredients with relative ease with no bog-downs. Run-times were good with plenty of battery life to spare. The only item that I hadn't tested this mixer on was dough mixtures for bread or pizza. One of the best things about this mixer is not being tethered to an electric outlet. You're free to move about the kitchen and you'll definitely enjoy the extra mobility. How sweet is that! Another great feature is the fact that you can place the unit in an upright position when not in use. You no longer have to place the mixer flat on a plate in between your mixing routine. This mixer in my opinion is a good addition to ones household. It is excellent for light mixing tasks and performed well. A great product which is a good fit for my home. I'm really satisfied with this product, after all its a KitchenAid!

The Kitchen Aid Cordless Hand Mixer adds flexibility in the kitchen that I didn’t think I needed - It makes a huge difference being cord-free! For starters, the design is plastic with a matte black finish that looks great and feels like it will hold up to some abuse. The mixer has a flat bottom which allows it to stand by itself over a bowl. I believe plastic was a design choice to minimize weight and this pays off because it did not seem to weigh more than my corded mixer even with the addition of the lithium batteries. It doesn’t seem like the battery is removable, I hope that there are service options in the future replace the battery if it gets to that point to avoid throwing away and replacing the product. Out of the box there is the mixer, two helical beaters, and a charge adapter. There is a button on the hand mixer to eject the beaters and a slider for power. Integrated into the power slider is the port for charging which disables the slider. This seems unfortunate since you cannot use the mixer and charge it at the same time, however I believe the battery life makes this a none issue. I had no issues making mashed potatoes, whipping egg whites, and making whipped iced coffee all in one kitchen session. Leaving the mixer to run it took an insane 1 hour on speed 6 before the battery ran dry. If you are a power user, I was able to get it back to a full charge in 2 hrs. While the charger is not inconvenient, one handed operation can be tricky. It would be beneficial to have a charging dock that the mixer sat on so that you could simply lift pick it up rather than fiddle with the power adapter. Like other Kitchen Aid mixing products, it has a slow start that helps prevent splatter and throwing your dry ingredients out of your bowl. I felt that the 7 speed options offered a good range of power. Low was just the right speed to gently mix ingredients and high was suitable for applications like whipped cream and egg whites where you are trying to incorporate as much air as possible for a fluffy texture. Overall, the performance and battery life make this a great replacement to an existing corded mixer with power to handle everything from mashed potatoes to thick buttercream. The added capability of being cordless is (pun intended) the icing on the cake.

I got this to replace a 19 year old mixer that I loved because it had a retractable cord. Now I have a cordless!!! Its cute, small, easy to hold, and lightweight. I mixed egg whites for an angel food cake and it whipped up nicely. While that was baking, I decided to try it on making a Dalgona coffee and again, it was great. Very quiet- my cats didn't even have to leave the room and I didn't need to turn the volume up on the TV! The 7 speeds are smooth switching and get very powerful at 7. I charged it over night- green indicator light stays on when fully charged. Then I let it set for a day to see if it held the same charge, and when I plugged it into the charger to see how much 'juice' was left, it was still fully charged. **Why I only gave 4 stars** I was taught to put the beaters in before plugging in and that way you do not accidentally turn it on when your hand is near the beaters. You CAN'T DO THIS with this mixer simply because it is cordless. You put the beaters in to a live mixer. I do not recommend this for kids to use alone. Maybe thats my own paranoia but... And, now I have to keep track of three pieces- beaters, mixer, and power cord.

In my experience cordless devices simply don't have the same amount of power to them that corded ones do. This mixer breaks away from that stereotype and has just as much "ooompf" behind it that a corded device would typically have. The battery life has proven to be awesome - I haven't been able to kill it even after having used to make several dishes. Also, the device feels hefty - like it's going to last a long while - again, in my opinion many portable devices have lost that trait recently, but not this one! It's a welcome addition to any household that makes home-made meals!

I wasn't sure what to expect from something like this in a cordless form but I am impressed. We all know the cord is the most bothersome thing about using mixers so the obvious appeal is there but of course, how does the rest of the product hold up? Turns out, very well! The power is all there and it still has variable speed settings like your regular mixers yet it's lighter, well balanced and definitely more compact than your average mixers. It's also fairly quiet, too. As for the blades, at first I thought having just the one pair would be disappointing but they made up for it by making them heavier duty and designed in a way that it's multi-purpose so in the end it's actually a benefit. They lock in and pop out nicely. For the few things my wife and I made so far this thing has performed admirably. It certainly whipped heavy cream and cream cheese in no time. It's simplicity allows for even more uses than usual. For example, I usually use a fork to scramble my eggs in a bowl before cooking but I'm not as skilled as others and can only whip it so fast. However this was so easy to grab and use I tried it out and it did the job great. Considering how quick it is to use I just may find myself mixing things more. PROS: * Compact & well balanced * Single set of multi-purpose blades (less attachments to worry about) * Easy to clean * Color coded battery indicator light for charging and status * Charges quickly CONS: * Something simple to store the blades/charger would had been nice, but not a big deal.

Good mixer for cookies, cakes, falls short

For this review, will just cut right to the pros and cons to help anyone considering purchasing this mixer. Pros: Lightweight Easy-to-Use Fast Charging (like if it were dead and you wanted to do a quick cake mix) Stands with beaters over most bowls (like if you need to pause or add ingredients) Multiple speeds and the slow start is nice for avoiding messes Is built solid and has a clean low profile design and fits in a standard drawer Cons: Lacks versatility The high speed is not near enough to do whipped cream in any timely fashion (and no whip anyway) No other tools included (for whipping, dough, etc.) It's powerful enough for cookies and cakes or any lighter batter but it doesn't do as well as a corded mixer for heavy bread doughs or mixes and the included beaters aren't the right ones for that anyway No storage case to keep mixer and charger together and charger doesn't easily stand out different from any other one No visible battery level indicator - there is an LED light that changes color but it does nothing to tell you what the battery level actually is Overall, I'm just not that impressed with this mixer where it's only real feature is that it's cordless. Aside to that, it's underwhelming in just about every other way and I have an older corded handheld KitchenAid that has a carry case, extra tools and is pretty versatile. I'm not sure I could recommend it where it's lacking in so many areas and have it taking up precious space in the kitchen.

    Great Mixer

I love Kitchen Aid. I got my stand mixer several years ago and it is built like a tank. I keep it on my counter and use it frequently. When I saw this cordless hand mixer I knew I wanted it. It feels like the same “tank” built quality that I expect from KitchenAid. It is heavy but not too heavy. First thing I did was charge it. It has an indicator light showing it is charging and goes to steady solid green when ready. When you turn it on, I love the way it starts up slowly and builds speed. I’m always slinging confectioners sugar over the counter top so this is a very nice feature. There are seven speeds and it runs through them smoothly. It is very quiet and and feels steady in my hand. Of course, for me, the cordless feature is my favorite. Cords are always a problem and get in the way both while using AND for storage. I didn’t notice any lack of power in this unit. I haven’t had to recharge it since I got it, but I have only used it a couple of times. Every cook needs a good hand mixer for those times when you don’t need the big stand mixer. I’m looking forward to having this gem for a long time. I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a good quality hand mixer.

This cordless hand mixer from Kitchenaid offers a lot of performance in a convenient cordless package. The mixer features 7 speeds and comes with a set of wire mixer paddles and the power adapter. It’s very straightforward to set up, just make sure the correct paddle is going into the correct hole! Being all DC powered, the unit is quiet and the cordless operation super flexible. The unit doesn’t quite have as much raw speed or torque as a corded mixer or the flexibility of using different paddle types. It does have enough power to shred cooked chicken breast for a pulled chicken BBQ (thanks Alton Brown) and for most typical tasks like mixing batter or light dough. Whipping cream or mixing thick dough or other similar tasks might be better suited for a corded hand mixer or a stand mixer that offer more speed and torque. One minor quibble is that I wish the charging port was some form of USB instead of a proprietary port and power supply, if that cord shorts or you have an issue the mixer is pretty much dead. Also having a sealed internal battery that will wear out means this unit isn’t going to last forever like your grandma’s old one from 1970 that still keeps going. Overall, this is a capable mixer with cordless convenience that will meet most people’s needs.

I just recently found the love of baking - pies, cookies, cupcakes.. And I used to mix ingredients manually before getting this handy dandy cordless hand mixer. It is definitely a life saver! No more tired arms manually whisking thick batter mix! I love that this mixer has 7 speed levels so I can switch speeds depending on the batter I am mixing and because this is cordless, it is so easy to carry this around the kitchen without worrying about tangled cords or getting pulled from the outlet, so convenient! It is lightweight but powerful enough to do the job and it is very easy to use, I think kids will have no problem using this. It is also easy to clean and store when not in use. I'm so glad I got this mixer! Makes my baking life so much easier.

    A Nice Mixer

The KitchenAid cordless hand mixer is a nice mixer for everyday baking use. The seven speeds provide plenty of power and it is very nice to not have a cord always getting in the way. Having a lithium ion battery as the power source, the power of the mixer is rather constant as the battery runs down, until the battery is nearly completely drained--just think about newer power tools, it is the same type of experience. The mixer features a light indicating the strength of the charge. The light stays green until it's down to 30% power, at which it turns yellow. There was no discernible difference in power at the 30% level. I was able to make one batch of brownies and another batch of chocolate chip cookies on one charge, and the battery indicator had not dropped to the "yellow" 30% state of charge, meaning there was plenty left to go. Like with other battery operated devices, it's always good to know in advance when you are going to be using it because that way you can make sure it is fully charged up. Nothing is worse than needing a battery operated device and seeing that the battery is dead or near dead. Sometimes you just can't wait for the recharge. The soft start / stop feature is a nice touch to prevent splatters.

This KitchenAid cordless mixer is a great addition to my appliance game! The mixer is sturdy, but not too heavy. I was able to use it straight out of the box to mix up some brownies, the speeds were consistent throughout the mixing process. It took about an hour to top off the charge and lasted perfectly for me to mix the wet and dry ingredients for a couple batches of cookies. I personally really like the fact this mixer is cordless, inevitably the cord always falls into whatever I and mixing! I look forward to using this mixer on more cooking projects, I would definitely recommend if looking for a new mixer!
