Fabulous touchscreen and very compact
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my computer. I have hand injuries, but with the touch screen I can manage quite well. I will never go back to a regular computer without a touch screen! It is light, Travels around the world with me very well. I use the Nightlight feature to reduce blue light.

Sweet midrange PC!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is such a great deal! I don’t do anything too demanding with my PC’s so I don’t require a lot of processing power, but I do want something that will keep up with technology for a few years. The i5 is a great 4-way processor that will hold up well. I got a good 9 years out of my last laptop equipped with one (it still works, it’s just getting slow for the times). Love the solid state drive; paired with windows 10’s efficiency, there’s practically no boot up time. I hit a button, input my pin, and I’m back at work. I also do a lot of multitasking: multiple chrome browsers with multiple tabs each, file manager, word, and excel are always open, so having that 12 gigs of RAM was essential!! It’s been several days and I haven’t had the had the slightest issue or hiccup with anything. I’m sure it could handle a little more too! It’s got a touch screen as well, not something I foresee myself needing much, if at all - hence why I opted not to go with the 360°, tablet 2-in-1 model. This model was over $200 less expensive and even packed in 50% more RAM. Anyway, for an average user, this PC is a great deal, and I’d highly recommend it!

!! Great Laptop !!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure why this laptop has average reviews? It works great from start, its quiet, fast, and light weight. I did had to optimize it a bit but I do that will all of my computers. Oh and I did read a couple of reviews regarding Wi-Fi not connecting or disconnecting from modem/router? I've had this laptop for about a week now and honestly I haven't had any issues with connecting to the internet.. sounds like a user error.

Dell guy giving this HP two thumbs up!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Usually I'm a Dell guy, but the model I wanted was always sold out. Soooo, I gave the HP a try and I am very satisfied! Seems to be just as well built, light weight for the size, and didn't come with a ton of annoying extra SW that pops up all the time and I won't use. Got this for my mom and glad I went with the SSD, 12 GB mem, and i5 processor, as she was complaining about how slow her old computer was (over 5 years old desktop). Can't make that complaint now! Very glad I went with the touchscreen as well, since Windows 10 is very touch friendly, and she had been just using her iPad more than her old computer. Now she can use this and have more functionality, be able to touch the screen instead of using the mouse when she wants to, and be able to take it with you when needed. Oh yeah, full number pad on the keyboard, and the keys don't feel small or crunched together with it being a wide screen.

Good computer, but S mode limits productivity
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My laptop suddenly quit during class one day. Because I teach part in person and part online, I had to replace my computer immediately. This was the only computer available in my price range. It does exactly what I need. The display is a good size. The computer is extremely light. It uploads and downloads lessons, plans, and activities quickly and easily. The setup was quick and easy. The only downside is S mode. I know it is supposed to protect the computer, but as long as the computer is in S mode, I cannot download some of the programs and activities I need for school. One example is the driver to connect to the printer at school. It says if I leave S mode (where my computer is kept safe) I cannot go back. I feel like I am stuck between keeping my computer safe and running smoothly and getting my job done well while I am at school.

Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop deserves 4 and 1/2 stars, but I went with 5 to make up for the previous 2 less than stellar reviews. It's a good price for the specs included. It's also not a base model, this is somewhere in the middle. Anyone who buys a laptop without a dedicated video card and gets bad gaming performance deserves what they get. I purchased this for school and coding. Also wanted to install and play around with a couple of Linux distributions. I did notice the fans going a little bit too much for simple browsing, but there are a lot of updates running in the background. I performed a clean install of Win10 and it's much quieter now. Also the m.2 drive used here may be causing the over heating issues. At some point in time, it needs to be upgraded anyway. Aside from that I'm enjoying it. My only gripe with it is the lack of a back lit keyboard which should be standard now-a-days but that may be tied to the price point as well. The letters on the keyboard keys are huge, except for the F keys, which I have to squint at.

Great Basic Laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a backup for my PC, the price point for this laptop was spot on. This is my experience: First I updated to Windows 10 full version-the S version supplied did not meet my needs. -That update had no issues. Second-tested WiFI- i have a good wireless router and had no problems with WiFi connections, even at some distance. The Wifi router is a component you want to have a newer model that accepts the latest WiFi standards etc i believe. Fan noise- as another person reviewed, it ramps up when downloading/installing software, otherwise it was not noticed. So far, after 3 days of use, and installing various apps I am happy with this purchase. "This is a review of my personal experience so far".

One of the Best Laptops!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went shopping a month or so ago for a reasonably priced laptop, I looked online and a couple of stores, found this item to be the most economical for me and loaded with great features. I probably could have saved a few more dollars if I looked really hard, but considering my limited IT knowledge as far as loading my data from an old laptop, this was beneficial for me because I have the Geek Squad Total Protection program, so it didn't cost me anything to do that. Additionally, being a member of Geek Squad I got upgraded virus protection and I added Microsoft 365. They uploaded everything for me and gave me my laptop ready to go when I picked it up. The speed of this laptop is unreal compared to my older one, plus this has touch screen capability as well. I have yet to use it to much as I really on the keyboard most of the time. At any rate, I love my laptop! The sales personnel on the floor were also knowledgeable of the product, but they were busy due to the tax-exempt sale, nonetheless, they were helpful any answering questions, as was the Geek Squad Team.

I love HP
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP laptop is my go to laptop with great quality for the price. Love the features and very light and easy to use. I would definitely recommend for someone who needs a personal everyday laptop. Pay attention to the gigabytes. If you have a lot of photos and files, you might want to look into the storage size.

Give it a chance - good quality for a good value
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased a previous laptop whose mic no longer worked, and so I returned to the store to swap it. Unfortunately, that model was no longer in stock, and it would be in stock in a week and I needed a laptop for class and I wasn't going to walk out of the store without one. I passed by this particular model initially with the idea that if it was a value laptop it wouldn't be as good, but since it was the only laptop in stock within my budget range, I begrudgingly bought it, already having experienced how nice that initial laptop I bought was. I formed an opinion too quickly. This laptop does everything you need it to do. So what if it doesn't have designer high quality speakers? I can still hear my classmates and the professors just fine, and the camera quality is good too. I'm not used to touchscreens on a laptop yet, but when I do use it on this laptop it works just fine. Plus, the battery life is good, where it takes about 5 hours estimate for me to need to go back to my charging station. I do recommend this laptop.

Really good insides with just a basic shell.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is perfect for what I need. I use it daily to run quickbooks and office programs. It's very fast and was a breeze to setup. It has great insides with just the basic shell so nothing fancy about the appearance. I'm still trying to get used to not having an ethernet cable connection as that's what I usually use but that's certainly not a deal breaker. It's lightweight and fairly thin compared to my older version that's only 2 years old. This is my first touchscreen laptop so im anxious to see how well it holds up but so far it's been used daily for a little over 3 months and has been great with no issues.

Please with Purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After scrutinizing and researching online I finally went to the store and went through the display options one by one. This computer meets all of my needs and is an excellent laptop for individuals in transition from old tech to new. Given its USBC and USB Ports as well as the full keyboard including a number pad and large touch screen I could only ask for better screen resolution which honestly is not necessary for my needs. The Processor seems to be keeping up well with my "multitasking" as advertised. The keyboard is not backlit and it does not come with any Microsoft 365 Products. A one-month trial is given along with Windows 10 in S mode which is easily changed to Windows 10 by following simple instructions at no fee/cost. All in all for this price point and in comparison to what is available at the time of my purchase I am extremely pleased.

For a mid-range work laptop, it's excellent
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited several days to post a review, after reading some of the less than stellar reviews. All I can say is that there must be a few bad ones out there. The one I received is excellent. I'm not having any issues with WiFi, overheating, loud fans, or poor screen. In fact, I would say that it's exceeding my expectations. When it first started up, there was a time that the fans did spin up, but it was when it was downloading all of the updates that have occurred since the laptop was produced. But once all of the updates were complete, it's been nearly silent. Overall, this laptop is fast, quiet, stable, and has a great screen. The only minor complaint, which I knew about going in, was that it doesn't have a backlit keyboard. If I could swap out the touchscreen for a backlit keyboard, I would. But the styling, speaker sound, screen clarity are outstanding for the price point. The issues that others have complained about do not exist with my laptop. I would recommend that anyone that has had an issue with their laptop, exchange it for another one of the same model. This really is a great computer and you will be thrilled with it. It won't be a good gaming computer, but for business purposes or for general web surfing, photo editing, and document producing, you can't ask for much more for a sub-$600 laptop.

College student experience w/ laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is honestly a better laptop than I expected. Overall, the performance is pretty good. As a college student, there are days when I use it for 10 hours. What's weird is that there are days that I use it for 10 hours and the battery will go from 100% to 20%. Other days, I use it for maybe 6 hours and the battery will go from 100% to 40% pretty quickly. (I use my laptop for the same things in these two situations). There are times when it overheats slightly and times when it doesn't feel hot the slightest bit. As for the keyboard, I love that it's pretty soft and comfortable to use. The audio could be better, it isn't super loud. Sometimes the brightness messes up, like it will be at a second level but get dark so I have to reset the brightness and it will tend to fix on its own. Honestly if you need a cheap laptop to do normal school work, this isn't the best but it also isn't the worst buy. It gets what you want done. I don't regret buying it in all honesty.
