So far so good. I only use this machine for coding Java, for school. That's it. No surfing, no browsing, no nothing. The reason for 4 starts: my ctrl key is fading away. I've only had this thing not even 2 months and the paint is chipping. Not a huge deal but if you're a heavy user like me, being a beginner at Java, then get ready to fall in love with your clunky plastic keys. Also, the touchpad is terrible. You'll need an external USB mouse. Other than that, it's a solid little machine. Oh and the display quality also blows. Having used the Apple ecosystem and 5k retina iMac for years, yeah, you can see why I'm not impressed. But it's cool. Maybe I'll take my Java further and eventually buy a PC that cost more than $400. But for now, this one is good. Thank you.

Better than I expected for a laptop at a low price point. Fast start up. Decent display. Easy to take it out of S mode. No complaints. Very satisfied with this purchase.

this laptop is very easy to use, it is smaller but just as powerful or more powerful than other laptops I have had.

This laptop is a great item for the money. It has a 128 gig hard drive so there is plenty room for updates! It’s fast so I don’t have to wait for it to open my apps. I am very satisfied. If I were to purchase another laptop it would be the HP.

Needed a computer asap. So I got this one, and till now it's still my favorite.

Great for school and watching movies, you can also upgrade the ram for faster speeds. The laptop is already smooth running with opening applications and running multiple processes in the background.

I brought this back on February 25th , yesterday (May12,2021) the computer was working fine now today (May13,2021) it won’t even cut on. I put it on the charger it seems to be charging but the screen isn’t cutting on when i push the power button.

I recently purchased this lap after searching for days for a simple matching in the $500. I was skeptical about this laptop given the price and the specs. But I was pleasantly surprised by the speed and responsiveness. Even after switching from Windows S Mode to Windows 10 Home the machine remained responsive. I was able to get a little over 4 hours of battery life during normal use. If you are curious, you CAN upgrade the RAM as there are two DIM slots, one of which contains a 4GB RAM stick. I added RAM from my broken laptop to this one with no problem. There's also a 128GB SSD in M.2 format that is removable. No complaints so far. Highly recommended.

I was on the hunt for a laptop replacement, when mine died. I had two desktops die on me while I was still looking. I was ready to buy a different HP laptop, but it wasn't in stock and needed a replacement ASAP!!... Then I noticed this one...on sale $50 off and it appeared to be the newer version of the out of stock laptop. Best of all... it WAS in make use of the usbCstock. I had to spend a little bit more to qualify for the 12 month no interest payment plan. It's very quick..no need for more memory as in the reviews for the older model...Only real downside: it says "ethernet & wifi" and also lists an ethernet port in the specs...NOT TRUE..no ethernet port..so I grabbed a usb to ethernet adapter @ Amazon for about $18+...That used up one of the few usb ports on the laptop. I also purchased a usbc to usb cable from Bestbuy for $10+ to make use of the USB C port. Bestbuy should update the info on the spec page..and maybe even give me a credit for $18+ for the adapter I had to buy. All in all..a Killer deal on a killer laptop!!

It is a great laptop for getting started with school or home projects!

I just got my laptop and first off, it came 3 days earlier than I thought it would, I live near Houston, Texas, so I expected for it to come until September--fast delivery! The packaging is very well done, the whole thing is compact but also very secure. The laptop is covered by strong foam. It comes with a charger(2 piece) and thats all. The laptop isn't gaming end but its handled a few games pretty well(Terraria, Roblox and Geometry Dash), the download speed is great too. The feel of the laptop is amazing, though its a laptop so the keyboard and mousepad are ehh. Overall, I think it's great for the price!

Perfect computer for someone like me OLD (70) who needs a reliable, easy to use computer without gobs of extras. Great monitor and I love the way the keyboard feels! Get one!

This is a great-looking , powerful enough, notebook that really maximizes what you can get on a budget. 2 USB slots is a little chincy, though it does include SD, and some other cool connections. This laptop comes with S-mode installed. it's really easy to ditch it, and you'll have to, but it is a minor inconvenience. S-mode seems to ONLY allow downloads from the app store, so if you need to download some software off the net, or even open something via USB you are out of luck unless you switch out of S-mode. I find S-mode to be less secure, as it is very constricting as to what you can do to combat any security situations. It takes security out of your hands and put it into a box that cannot see, or really have any idea of what security actions may need to be taken. It's like a driverless car, which sounds good, until you find out that others are trying to purposefully crash into you. In those instances, you kinda want the steering wheel. I feel like I am being home-burgled without a weapon perhaps- something of this nature. The computer is great, S-mode is only for absolute beginners to computers. Again, it takes two seconds to switch over to home version so no big deal.

Purchased this computer for my 6th grader. After reading reviews on various sites, i.e., pcmags, consumer reports... thought I was making a sound purchase. Unfortunately, it kept freezing and flashing "you are having internet issues:. Had our local internet provider check our service - no problems. Had her use my HP computer which is a year older but has an Intel i3 processor. No problems at all. No freezing, no downtime due to computer issues. It's not a bad computer, it just didn't work for the type of applications she had for school (and of course during this pandemic, every child is internet schooling). My real issue comes with Best Buy's 15 day return policy. I purchased the computer in advance of school beginning in order to ensure she had a computer. School began 17 days after purchasing and by 19 days we knew it was the computer and not our internet service. Best Buy didn't want to return it - I don't think they were very happy even exchanging it even though we purchased a computer 2+ times the cost (as suspected when I initially purchased they were on short supply of affordable computers). Best Buy needs to relax their policy during this pandemic and give parents at least 30 days to determine if the computer meets their child's needs.
