Not worth the money

Better off with a broom
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is actually kind of terrible. It doesn't pick anything up. Unfortunately it took me too long to figure this out and I missed the return window.

Not worth it.

Another Shark win
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My other vac is the Shark Cordless Pet Plus Lightweight Stick Vacuum which I reviewed a bit over a year ago. The Pet Plus has held up fine over the year. I ended up getting the Vertex to use on a different floor in the house. Both units are pretty much the same and I can use attachment across both of them. Most of the pros and cons remain the same for both units. Pros: - Simple Roller Maintenance (Hair does NOT choke up the roller) - Removeable battery - Motor head can be used without the multiflex wand (perfect for stairs) - Sufficient run times even using the Turbo mode - Easy bin emptying and the bin can just be washed - *The addition of the multiflex wand is terrific. Makes getting under tables and chairs much easier. Also STORAGE. Both units are top heavy because the vacuum sits on top. Being able to fold over itself makes it store balanced and more compact. Con: (still the biggest single gripe I have with this unit): - No dock or storage for the attachments. - At least a single attachment point on the vacuum itself would make quick grab and swaps easier. Grabbing the Vertex over the Pet Plus there is no discernable other than the fact that the multiflex wand makes getting under furniture (if your furniture has the clearance to begin with) easier. I also appreicate that I can put awayt he redundant tools from both sets. For now due to lack of a decent storage option All the attachments are stored in a cleaning caddy with some additional items for cleaning.

Pet Hair Troubles Resolved
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark - Shark® Vertex™ DuoClean® PowerFins Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum - Blue This is a powerful cordless vacuum. It is free-standing, so no wall mount necessary. I found it easier to maneuver the vacuum on hard surfaces than on carpet surfaces. The multiflex wand was useful in cleaning under furniture. I was able to vacuum under my furniture without bending over. The multiflex feature allowed me to store the vacuum in free-standing mode. The suction of this Shark Vertex is excellent. The vacuum quickly sucked up large debris like cereal and fine debris like sand from hard floors and carpet surfaces. I also found that it cleaned up my dog's hair without entangling the hair in the rollers. However, I found you have to regularly clean the rollers, especially around the roller mechanism, to prevent a reduction of roller/vacuum performance. There is a trigger boost that gives you more suction power. I found I did not need to use it too often. I was able to continuously use the vacuum using the main head for approximately 30 minutes on just one battery charge. The battery is easily accessible and can easily be replaced. The adaptors (crevis wand, anti-allergen dust brush, and combo upholstery tool) are quick connect and easy to use. I recommend this Shark Vertex for any serious house cleaning.

Baby Shark, doo, doo, doo
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark® Vertex™ DuoClean claim to be the most powerful handheld vacuum is a legitimate claim. It is the most powerful handheld vacuum cleaner I've used. However, it does weigh more than most handheld vacs. BUT it does so much more than other handheld vacuums. You can use it for bare floors and carpet. It does channel hair to center to be sucked up and it also makes it easer to remove the hairs that don't make it through. Although it isn't as powerful as my "corded" Shark Rotator Pro, It is great for wood and tile floors! The low profile head makes it really easy to get under furniture and the inverted hinge allows you to vacuum under furniture without having to bend down. One of my negative view would be that the attachments don't really have "attachment" points on the Shark® Vertex™ DuoClean itself, but if you don't use them often, then you can store them in a safe location. The other one is that having the canister and motor on the top end, makes it top heavy and not stand vertical, HOWEVER, that is alleviated by folding it in half for compact storage. Having owned other brands of vacuums, including high end, high dollar brands and models, The Shark brand of vacuums are my favorite. So again, Shark does not disappoint with the "Baby" Shark® Vertex™ DuoClean.

Good performance, bad convenience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the vacuum itself performs admirably on both hardwood & carpet for a battery-powered unit, it lacks the convenience of typical uprights in that there is literally *no* on-board storage of attachments. Need to switch to the brush for your couch? Go run and grab it. Need the low-profile attachment for something? Go run and grab it. Not even a storage *bag* for them is provided. The unit *must* be folded over in order to stand by itself, which puts the battery charging port literally on the floor. Have fun plugging & unplugging that. The other option is to remove the battery each time and plug it in anywhere you wish. It's very lightweight; you can remove the entire floor unit and easily carry the vacuum in one hand. Though it can be a bit awkward as you're holding the entire canister and battery in your hand instead of just a handle & wand like a typical floor vacuum. We're still not sold on whether/not this will replace our Shark DuoClean for heavy-duty tasks (like vacuuming the entire house) but for quick usage here and there it's got better performance than your typical lightweight "stick vacuum" (we've got one of those as well) which we appreciate.

Ok in a pinch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works fine for light clean up and it is nice to be cordless. There is a light on the head part with the rollers that turns red when the rollers get jammed. I didn’t see anything about this light in the directions. It was reasonably easy to take apart and fix. Had to reach in to pull dog hair out of the collection container. The head is too wide to fit under my couch.

Shark Vertex Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum works just fine. The debris container is small and the dust sticks the the wall so you can't see inside.

Terrible product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this product is terrible. do yourself a favor and invest in dyson. the accessories that come with this product do not work. In addition to this unit, I purchased the motorized hand tool for close to 100 dollars and it does not work at all. I called shark customer service (which was horrendous)..we did a video call and they agreed that the product wasn't working and would provide a full refund and that I was responsible for the cost of shipping to send back after I already paid $15 to have it shipped to me in the first place. the battery on this unit does not last 60 min. I can barely vacuum 800 square feet of space on one charge. I can't stress enough to not waste your money on this product. if you try to return it. it will cost you even more!
