    A sleeper hit!

As someone who tests a lot of new gaming mice I was curious to see what the MX518 Legendary was all about. It doesn’t take somebody long to notice that it doesn’t fit with the rest of them and has a old look to it. You’d be correct as it’s based off the old MX510 which released all the way back in 2004. This updated model features Logitechs Flagship Hero sensor so under the hood it’s vastly improved. The shape is what sets this mouse apart as it pioneered ergonomics and even to this day is still a shape I really enjoy and have no problem transitioning to when I’ve been using more slick and lighter mice. Main buttons require a medium amount of force to actuate and feel crispy and consistent, side buttons leave a lot to be desired, but get the job done for regular usage. Scroll wheel is very old-school and not as defined or quiet as newer encoders. It will feel different depending what direction you’re scrolling. Overall the build quality and QC on my unit is amazing. This is a mouse I’d highly recommend if you aren’t looking for something that has to look modern. If you enjoy the shape this will be a sleeper hit for you with a amazing sensor to boot and great value for everything you get!

Great mouse got even better with new sensor, great value. One thing left to ask for is bullet marks design like in classic I have used 11 years ago. If you have big hands like me you will love shape of this mouse.

Logitech improved upon a great series of gaming mice with the G MX518. Same classic shape which works well for larger hands and my preferred mouse grip style. The new Hero sensor is extremely accurate and doesn't skip. Rubber mouse cord unlike some other G models mice. But works really well and I might not even do a paracord mod. Top of G MX518 is smooth without any texture with rubberized sides to the body. I prefer this over G500/G5 finish and also it's much lighter than those mice. Logitech G MX518 > G500 > G5 > MX518

Very Similar to the Original 518

Just got the new G MX518. It looks and feels good. A bit shiny as the original 518 looks flat in comparison that I have had for a long time and is still up and running. Its been my favorite mouse so I decided to get this one as backup. Can't say much about durability yet but time will tell. Logitech warranty has been excellent in the past but notice this one comes with a one year warranty compared to some older mice that had a three year warranty. Overall it seems very similar in feel to the original and although I have not weighed both on a scale for comparison, the weight feels very similar to the original so I am pleased with the purchase. If you have used the original 518 and liked it like I do, then you will like this mouse too. Cheers!

Shape: The shape is great for a 1-3-1 grip. It's a larger mouse and the shape of this mouse is comfortable for palm, claw, and fingertip users. It's a safe shape and not too bulky. Cable: The cable is nothing to brag about. It's a thin rubber cable. The cable is slightly longer than the market average. Scroll Wheel: The scroll wheel is bad. It feels cheaply made and squeaks. The mouse wheel has an alright click, but still does not feel great. Feet: The feet are smooth. Unless you really care about it, you do not need to shop for any aftermarket feet. Buttons: The buttons are okay. They are less prone to double-clicking as they use 20M Omron as opposed to 50M. The buttons are satisfactory, but not special. Coating: The coating is glossy. I don't mind this. It feels nice. If you sweat a lot, this mouse may not be for you as glossy coating can get really dirty. Weight: This mouse is not what you want to get if you're into lightweight mice. The weight comes in at a little above 100g, which feels like a brick if you are used to much lighter models. The mouse, however, has great weight distribution so it may not feel like 100g. The weight has been reduced from the previous version. I would recommend this mouse if you're looking for a cheap deal. This mouse goes for $20 on sale which is great value. This mouse, while heavy, is definitely viable for FPS and MOBA games.

Ordered as 'new.' The package I received was probably a previously returned item. Box was torn, sealing sticker was peeled off. And it doesn't work without jiggling the cable. This is going to be returned.

I’m a big fan of this mouse but it may not be for everyone. A few things to consider: Asymmetrical - fit will be important to try out and it’s probably not the best choice for left-handed users. Sensor - top notch, especially for the price Cord - a bit stiff and not wrapped in a paracord. Scroll wheel - probably the only true negative I can point out. It’s dated. Modern scroll wheels have a much more satisfying feel. Also, there is no infinite scroll option if that is important to you. Design - a bit controversial for some. No RGB. Some people may not like the metallic gradient styling but for fans of the original, it’s a nice throw back.

My favorite mouse shape ever. Fits my hand and mouse grip perfectly. Awesome sensor. Owned the original MX518, G5 and G500 For the price it is fine but if they made a premium version with better plastic and paracord cable I would upgrade to it. At $40 (MSRP) build quality if fine. I paid $20 and an totally happy with it.

This was a staple mouse back in the day and now it's back, but with an upgraded sensor. The mouse itself is very lightweight and feels okay in the hand. It is meant for more of a claw-grip style, so if that's your preference, this might be good for you. I managed to get this on sale and while it is nostalgic, I have ended up just deciding to give this to my parents instead to replace my old backup mouse that has led lights that are unable to be disabled (seems it is an issue with the PC's motherboard and Windows 10). I prefer palm-style mice with a heavier feel (still rocking a Razer Deathadder and Logitech G502 with all the weights in). The MX518 mouse also doesn't have a braided cord, so the other two mice feel a little more premium in that respect. Overall, I still think this is a good mouse to buy.

I was but a teenager when the original Logitech MX518 was released to market. I remember gladly paying a premium (back in the day) for it and spending MANY hours as my daily driver on CS1.6, Quake 3, and DotA. That mouse has since died years ago. So when Logi announced they're bringing the 518 back with current generation hardware, I HAD to get one. Summary: if you're not looking to be an aimbot in FPS games, the Logi G518 is impeccable for general use and casual gaming. It's supremely comfortably to palm grip and is built like a tank. However, it's heavy compared to contemporary competitors. If you want a bit of nostalgia in a comfortable shape that hasn't changed, it's worthwhile to scoop one up. Like all Logi mice with the HERO sensor, I've had absolutely ZERO issues tracking ranging from 400-1600 DPI.

Saw this on-sale for a terrific price. I had already read/watched multiple very positive reviews plus my original MX-518 was still going strong (and my all-time favorite mouse) so I jumped on one. The main thing that makes the 518 in general different than most of Logitech current game-oriented models is its shape. It's smooth and on the large side plus has dead-space on the sides to rest fingers or grab/lift the mouse without activating any buttons. The differences between this particular mouse and the original are as follows: 16k Hero sensor, very nice Omron switch's on all buttons and a shiny black finish. Also its slightly lighter. Bottom line if you liked the original you'll love the one even at full-price and if it goes on sale its a no-brainer.

It's nice to have an old friend back. The MX510 was my favorite mouse back in the day. This MX518 has a better sensor, familiar shape, and just works well. My only complaint is I don't remember the mouse wheel being so noisy on my old mouse. It's squeeky.

When Logitech discontinued their line of mouses in this exact shape I was quite disappointed. I've since gotten used to their newer shapes (502) and have switched mostly from a palm grip to claw grip. But using this again brought back a lot of nostalgia. I still very much like the shape. However the feel of the dpi change button and scroll wheel are significantly worse than modern Logitech offerings. The left/right click feels good and the thumb buttons work well enough. So for a kind of budget mouse with good tracking I would still recommend, especially if you remember and liked this shape from yesteryears.

Moderate weight with a very comfortable right-handed ergonomic shape to it. I have S/M hands and my whole hand sits comfortably on it and is never aching or in pain after extended use. Responsive. Buttons are where they need to be and are accessible, (though, personally, the middle mouse button is a bit tough for me. I choose to use the side buttons instead). Scroll wheel has a tactile clicking that helps give you feedback for scrolling. No complaints; very happy with the product.

The Logitech G MX518 is an ergonomic mouse with great gaming performance. The curvy body of this mouse will lock you hand into a very comfortable palm grip. It uses Logitech's Hero Sensor which is very good for having pin-point accuracy in games. Cons: Rubber cable that doesn't feel as nice as some cables on newer mice, Black Teflon feet are out dated and should be replaced. You can purchase aftermarket PTFE feet to improve glide performance. Pros: A great value of a mouse, great for anyone wanting to try out a gaming class mouse for the first time. Comfortable curvy form melts into the hand and almost makes you forget the mouse is there.

For my somewhat big hands, this mouse feels nice overall. For the price this mouse has great value. Over the holidays Best Buy was selling this for $20 new. Fantastic price. The Hero 16k sensor is accurate, I can track targets accurately, and I can flick quickly to an enemy without issue. I've heard of double-clicking being an issue with Logitech mice, but my MX518 has been working fine.
