Almost five stars
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give this five stars, but I feel like my D5 was a little better as far as the navigation goes. Customer service for these guys is amazing. They help me immediately and very efficiently. The robot is great, it has automatic cleaning mode for determining vacuum power on a certain surface. I love the HEPA filters. And especially with the sale that's in no brainer by. The app with updates is only going to get better. The reason I'm not giving it five stars is because sometimes the navigation it will get lost. And the map is a little crooked compared to previous models. But with no go zones, i don't have any issues with rugs that are thicker. The robot doesn't like thick rugs. It messes up. It's navigation. Connection issues compared to my D5. D5 once it was on my Wi-Fi never had to be reconnected, but this one does pretty frequently. The robot is tucked away perfectly under a TV stand and will function from there. Also, I love picking this robot up and placing it anywhere I want and starting a cleaning run. It doesn't. Great job and everything looks nice after. Quality of this is top notch, very easy to maintain and clean, simple.

D10 Neato Robotics Vacuum with LIDAR mapping!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Neato D10 is a new advanced robot vacuum from Neato Robotics. It has LaserSmart SLAM technology LIDAR that allows mapping of a home or office and clean even in the dark. The HEPA filter captures fine dust particles as small as 0.3 microns. Neato has designed the robot with a wide flat edge and added a new brush to improve the vacuums ability to pick up dirt and reduce noise compared to it's previous vacuums. Neato claims it will clean up to 2,700 sq. feet on a single charge and vacuums up to 300 minutes runtime The vacuum has a large 0.7-liter dirt bin. There are 3 vacuuming modes: Eco mode for general vacuuming, lower noise and longer run time, turbo mode for those areas that need a deeper cleaning and Max Mode for maximum power and deeper cleaning at the expense of shorter run time and more noise. The vacuum has a convenient auto-recharge mode. When it needs power to complete a job instead of charging fully it will calculate how much power it needs to finish , charge up, and then go back to cleaning right from where it left off. . Setup is easy with the MyNeato app. It is available for Android and IOS. Unfortunately for me there is a bug that affects the setup of Wifi with Android 13 on my Pixel Pro 6 so I had to use my backup iPhone to do the setup. After the setup was complete I was able to use the App normally on my Pixel. Neato is working on a fix. With the MyNeato app you can control and monitor the D10 from anywhere. You can use zones to set up to 16 areas and choose the cleaning mode for each one. You can make cleaning schedules to let the vacuum do its work at a time convenient to you. On the first run The D10 maps your entire office or home it then returns to the base and uploads the maps. My vacuum could not find it's base at first. A quick online chat with Neato support resulted in moving the base slightly and it has worked since. There are a few rules for base placement: 1) The charging station must be on a straight wall 2) It must not be in a corner or closer than three feet/one meter to a corner or door 3) It must not be in direct sunlight 4) It must not be placed under another object / piece of furniture 5) It should ideally be in a room with a quiet / unchanging environment so that further difficulties can be avoided (e.g. not near chairs that are moved) 6) There should be at least one meter/three feet of space to the right, left and front 7) The robot should be able to scan the charging station from several points in the room The D10 did a great job cleaning my office carpets even though I have a cleaning crew vaccum maually the D10 vacuumed up a goo deal of dirt and dust. The vacuum was able to navigate the many chairs and obstacles without getting stuck. The map created was extremely accurate. I run the vacuum at night on turbo mode using scheduling. I did a manual run to assess the noise level of each mode, eco mode is quiet, Turbo mode is louder but not too noisy and is probably ok for normal use. Max mode is loud and should only be used if you need a really deep clean. Neato Robotics has released a really nice vacuum, I recommend it if you are looking for a robotic vacuum.

Truly intelligent, powerful, and sleek robot vac
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, I wonder why all the negative reviews about this robot vacuum. At least here, I can share my experience using this Neato D10 for three days compared to my other high-end brands that cost about the same. What I liked about this Neato robot vacuum was the design and quality I noticed the minute I unboxed it. Looks great and feels heavy. The charging dock is slim, so it does not take much space, and I did not need to use double-sided tape to stick to the baseboard. The robot returned to its charging dock, and the dock did not slide and remained firm. The cleaning brush is attached to the back of the charging dock magnetically, so it does not get lost, but I found it a hassle as I had to move the dock to take the brush, so I kept it in a safe place. It is equipped with a HEPA filter and powered by a strong battery that can run for 300 minutes. The built-in speaker that announces the setup steps and any audible error/info is loud and clear. Buttons on the top are easy to use, the big one is for Start/Turn on and Turn off, one for audible prompts, and there are two LEDs, one for the battery indicator and one for the wifi. The setup was super easy using the MyNeato app on iPhone. I had to create an account to use the step-by-step instructions in the app that are easy to follow. Lunching the vacuum for the first time took almost 55 minutes to navigate and map my living room and the dining room. I have to say that the laser (LIDAR) navigation and mapping is much better than the camera as its detection was way better even in the dark. I had experienced and gone through many issues with a vacuum with camera navigation, especially during dim light and even constant bumping into the furniture. This Neato worked flawlessly, and from its first run, it avoided bumping into the furniture only a few times which is impressive. However, I made sure no cables were on the floor to avoid getting stuck. The vacuum is powerful enough to manage its way out of the narrow areas, and I had no issues like getting stuck or mismapping the area. It offers three cleaning modes eco/turbo/max. I ran it on max mode, and the cleaning outcomes were marvelous; even those tiny pieces of nuts were sucked. It performs for up to 300 minutes; thank you for the big battery. Like any other vacuum, it returns to its charging dock to recharge and continue its cleaning session if the battery is about to die. Noise is acceptable, even on max mode. Lunching and returning to its charging dock is smooth and finds its way without bumping or getting lost. The Neato D10 has a D-shaped form factor that looks great, especially with the aluminum-like color that gives it a premium look. My other three robot vacuums at home have the self-emptying feature, but this Neato does not. Nevertheless, its D-shaped gives it more room for a bigger dustbin than my other brands. But what I did not like about this Neato D10 was that the app is glitchy and gets unresponsive several times. When I tested the "Locate" feature, I had the locating sound beeping, but I could not turn it off in the app until I turned off the vacuum completely. I deleted the app and reinstalled it again, but it seemed hopeless. The vacuum is excellent, but its app is annoying. Other features in-app such as history, creating routines, editing maps, and more maps, are functional with some unresponsiveness here and there. The No-Go zone feature worked as meant to be, and my vacuum never reached my No-Go areas as I selected. I feel this Neato D10 is underrated since I did not experience any issues except that its app needs some work, and I'm sure the company will pay attention to this and fix it in their future firmware.

Straight and Great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our 4th robotic vacuum, going way back to our first Roomba maybe 10+ years ago. and I have to say, this one so far, has been the best of the bunch. Setup was pretty easy, only took some time to get all the protective plastic off. pairing with the app, did take me two attempts, but was pretty painless and easy to do. Setting up the docking port, I tried first to have it under a bench (just the layout of the room), didn't work so well... so did place it against our fireplace base, and is just fine there. Now to the fun stuff. The app, is pretty good... I wish it would get optimized a bit for iPad, so I can use the larger screen to layout my zones, but that is a nit pick on my part. I think in time it will be nice, when you can better refine zones (not just 4 point rectangles), so I can better refine it. But it is very good, that after the first running, I get my map, and then can zone out where I want it to go and not go (saves me from worrying about it going into laundry room, or bathroom, where historically these robots have issues). I LOVE that I can set schedules per zone, as there are some rooms on the first floor, that just are not used often, and don't need to waste the time every day to vacuum those, and on the flip... there is one room that is used extensively every day, so this can get refreshed each day. it is a quite running unit, not overly loud. the dirt container is on the smaller size, but not much can be done there unless we want to make the units much bigger. I like some of the advancements, where it can LIFT itself up a bit to try to get unstuck if it gets into a pickle. I like how it turns off the vacuum power, when it is returning home as well. Some other neat little things... The shimmy when it goes into the base, not sure if it just cosmetic, but is a little nice touch. And the tones and sounds it makes. The advantage of having it fully wifi enabled is great, because I can get notes on my phone about what it is doing and when it is stuck. (and so far it hasn't gotten stuck after the first initial mapping). The #1 thing that I really love about it... it vacuums more like a human. seriously. How many of us vacuum in a random pattern, and leave lines on the carpet going every which direction. I LOVE!!!! how this robot, leaves STRAIGHT lines, that are parallel to the walls (see picture, and zoom in a bit). It does a good job cleaning, and leaves the GREAT appearance when done.

Good Choice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, the first unit I received had problems... It never mapped the entire first floor, it never docked properly, it wouldn't charge, it would sometimes just got over the same area over and over, the dust bin wouldn't close properly... I called Neato Tech Support (without them knowing I was a Top100 Contributor in BB TIN) and the support was fantastic. Immediate access to a live tech all three times I called and the agent was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Long story short, I was able to get a new unit and it was a complete 180 from the first one. This one charged, was meticulous in mapping and did a great job on both carpet and hard floors. Our main floor is about 2600 total square feet and I purposely shut doors to our bedroom, my office and my wife's office when it ran it's first few cycles. We also have a very large sunken living room. The unit was very good at "learning the layout and it did a great job at identifying the curved edge into the sunken area. The app is decent. You can set routines, create custom no-go zones, start a cycle, adjust power / eco ratios... One area (and it's probably a minor complaint) is the dust-bin seems relatively small. But us having two dogs and two cats, the bulk of the volume is animal hair. I'm for pet-free homes it would be plenty. End of the day, it does what a robo-vac should do and it does it very well. As you can see in the pictures, it does a nice job on the carpet and you can see the tracks where it did a thorough job. The hard surfaces also were thoroughly cleaned. In all a decent, smart robo-vac option.

NOT PERFECT BUT GETTING THERE!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start off, I did not have high hopes for Neato D10 because of my experience with the Neato D8, which was horrible and probably the least intelligent robot vacuum cleaner that I had ever tested, but I can honestly say that whatever Neato did with the D10 has paid off. It is still not perfect but it’s getting there. The D10 has come along way from some issues that I dealt with the previous D8 model. My D8 would get stuck everywhere, randomly get lost and I would have to manually place it back on its charger, and at time would not even work. The new D10 has fixed majority of those issues and so far, has been doing a good job. So, lets go over some of the features, Pros and Cons of the new Neato D10. Unboxing and Setup: In the box you will receive the D10 Robot Vacuum Cleaner, the Slim Charging base with built-in cleaning tool, and two extra HEPA filters. To setup the Neato D10 you will need to download the neato app. The new neato robot vacuum cleaners require the new “My Neato” app. Setup process was so much smoother compared to the D8. I was able to verify my account and download the update and get cleaning. So far so good. Features: Laser Mapping Sleek Design Powerful suction 3 cleaning modes – ECO, TURBO & MAX ECO – LOW SUCTION, COVERS LARGER AREA TURBO- MORE SUCTION, COVERS LESS OF AN AREA MAX- MAXIUM SUCTION FOR A DEEP CLEAN, COVERS EVEN LESS OF AN AREA Large Cleaning Roller Small Side Brush Low Profile Large Dust Collection Bin Ability to set a schedule, No-go zones and Clean Zones Usage: After the download was complete the robot rebooted itself and started its first run to map my floor plan and do some cleaning. This is where I had started to run into issues with my D8, but my D10 did this whole process flawlessly. I ran the vacuum cleaner on turbo mode, and it did the first cleaning and mapping in about 1 hour and 11 minutes and did not get stuck anywhere nor it did it get lost, and we have a lot of furniture where we thought that it would get stuck, but it did not. The Neato D10 has great suction, a large disposal bin and a unique “D” shape design, allowing the robot to get into corners easily. This robot vacuum cleaner has laser navigation, which allows it to be more precise and can even work in the dark, where other robot vacuum cleaners rely on camera-based navigation that require light to operate. But even laser navigation has its pros and cons. Since I already mentioned the pros, now the cons. Even though the laser navigation is more precise with the floor mapping, it is unable to pick up small object and wires, things that my other camera-based robot can pick up and avoid. I have already had a few instances where the robot got something stuck in its rollers and you must manually remove the object before it can proceed. This robot also requires you to manually empty its dust collection bin, which a lot of robot vacuum manufacturers are moving away from. Most robot manufacturers are now offering self-emptying bins, which in my opinion is great feature and something Neato needs to work on if it hopes to compete. PROS: Laser Navigation Large Roller Brush Large Dust Collection Bin Sleek Shape and Design Fast Charging Great Suction CONS: No auto empty option or station Requires you to pick up small objects and wires Overall, I am really impressed with the Neato D10. The D10 is a huge improvement over the previous models and is no longer plagued with the issues of the past. I have run my robot multiple time and it had performed well, but I think Neato does have some catching up to do it wants to stay competitive.

A better alternative
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Robot vacuum are gaining ground nowadays. The main catch here really is the price point as for some they may cost an arm and a leg. Neato Robotics offers a more affordable option when it comes to robot vacuum cleaners. Now is Neato Robotics a case of you get what you pay for or is it a value for money deal. Let’s find out. And for this review I am going to evaluate the Neato Robotics D10 robot vacuum cleaner. First the Neato Robotics D10 like most robot cleaners is D shaped wherein the flat side fronts so that corners in your house can be cleaned. Out of the box you can find the main unit which weighs around eight pounds. A charging base, a power adaptor, two extra filters and some documentation. Setting up the unit is fairly straightforward. Just plug in the charging base and attach the vacuum, cleaner to the base. Download the app on your cell phone (available both in iOS and Android) and follow instructions. Once connected to the internet, first the vacuum cleaner will do is perform a firmware update which will take around 15 minutes.Once updated your vacuum is ready to do it’s first cleaning, You can start using the vacuum by using the app. Do note that the first time you use the app, it will cover as much space as possible. You must remove all obstacles on your floor too since the Neato D10 is also doing a map of your house. As such such this may take an hour or so and in some cases the unit may run out of power. Once the first cleaning is made, you can now partition the map so that you can either clean the whole house or cleans portions of your house. Also you can father program the robot to have no-go zones in certain areas of the house. And you can further customize your D10 by making a schedule when to clean your house. There’s not much to it really for the D10 since it is quite easy to use and pretty much customizable as per your cleaning needs. As for cleaning, the Neato Roboitics cleans as well as the competition. It’s main advantage really is its price comparison to other cleaners out there. That said, the Neato Robotics is a bang for your buck smart robot cleaner. And I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Good in it's own ways
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Neato Robot is a well constructed device. It arrived nicely packed. In the box you will find the vacuum robot and some accessories. There is this little tool that looks like a comb. It is used to remove the hairs that get stuck to the vacuum brush. And it also comes with 2 HEPA filters. The instructions are explained very well and they are easy to follow. I love the fact that the vacuum lasts up to 300 minutes, that's close to 4hours, more than enough to clean my entire house in 1 run. When it comes to cleaning it does an excellent job in that department and is also very quiet. Setting it up with the app took about 15 minutes. Once setup just send the robot for a run and it will create a map of the house. The app is very intuitive and easy to use. You can also create multiple cleaning zones and no go zones as well. During my experience the vacuum got stuck on the carpet a few times. I had to lift it over and put it back on the floor. I'm not sure if it was because the carpet was too thick. It is advertised to do both hard floor and carpet. It also got stuck under the sofa. I understand the logic of the shape which makes it easier to clean flat corners but it also makes it a little hard to get into thighs areas. Overall it is a very well made robot and it does a cleaning job very well. It has some good technology that some others don't have, like LIDAR. It is quiet and it has one of the longest lasting batteries than any other cleaning robot I have used. It uses HEPA filters, it's easy to use and clean. In the box you get the vacuum, charging base, cleaning tool, 2 filters and manuals.

Pretty good
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 7th Vacuum robot I’ve gotten over the past 4/5 years. I have to start by saying they keep getting better. The best 5 years ago is not as good as the average unit is today. The improvements in mapping functionality using Lidar have been the biggest Improvement, and then units that have a huge home base to hold weeks of “whatever the robot has eaten” are game changers. This is the first Neato robot I’ve tried and I plan on using it in my master bathroom/bedroom (if I can train it properly). So, I started with my 240sq foot master bath, with about 150 sq ft of cleanable floor. It has a round 8’ rug in the middle that is nearly 1” thick. Older robots would have never negotiated this, but with today’s robot having much bigger front wheels, I didn’t think there would be a problem. First, I set up the Neato software on my iPhone. No issues, setup was simple to understand, and worked perfectly (it only works with a 2.4gHz Wi-Fi network). You can either have the robot clean and map at the same time, or just map initially (no vacuuming done). Just mapping alone took 7m in my bathroom, mapping and vacuuming took 14-15m. The only reason to map only is if you plan to include no-go zones in your map (which I plan to use in my bedroom, with an oriental rug which has long fringe on it that needs to be avoided (more on this later). The two maps were virtually identical. Their software made it easy to name different zones and to set up-no go areas (see images). The first vacuum pass did a great job getting into corners and around legs/doors with the 2 spinning edge brushes. The robot moves close to walls but rarely touches them, it knows its edge brushes extend out about ½” from the robot. I made 3 passes using the low, med & high vacuum setting. It gets into corners better than round robots do, but only with the mid or high “vacuum” setting does it suck sufficiently (I can’t recommend the low setting). Three passes totally filled the dust bin. But there was no warning that it was full. This is something they need to improve in their software (refuse to run if bin full, and notify the user when full – if it does this it failed to do so for me). After 2 passes my 8’ rug was cleaned perfectly, my tile floors no longer had any dust bunnies. It did a very good job. The third pass left behind some dust bunnies, due to the bin being full (user error? Not sure). After emptying, problem solved, morale of story, empty after use. I mapped my bedroom into the map and excluded both ends of the fringe from the cleaning area (allowing cleaning in center. I watched it carefully begin vacuuming and the no-go zones prevented it from getting to one corner of my bedroom, it did a great job on the tile floor under the bed and furniture. My no-zones were a little larger than needed, but they effectively prevented the Neato 10 from eating my fringe. The side brushes and vacuum exhaust moved them around a bit but no damage. I’m still not sure I trust it unsupervised (in case the rug might have moved). I’d planned to store two maps, one with just the bathroom, the other with both rooms. But their software currently only supports saving one map (says the feature is coming – loose a star - but fixable. So, it works well, not knowing if the bin is full is a problem, and single map is a problem. I miss not having a big bin, but that why I’m now planning on just using this in the bathroom, where it did do a great job.

The best robot vacuum I've tried.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've tried a couple of different cleaning robots, but this Neato is the first one that's been "intelligent". The others just sort of ran around bumping into everything repeatedly and cleaning the same spots over and over, often without picking much of anything up. The Neato earned it's place in my house on it's first run. I was impressed with the way it "saw" obstacles and adjusted it's path along curves and corners. It did run into a couple of hiccups on the way. I've got a chair with a low base with four curved legs that lay flat on the floor at the ends, and the Neato tried to drive up them, nearly getting stuck but always somehow managing to right itself and continue on its way. It mapped, seemingly partly visual and partly by trying things out, my home with surprising accuracy, and it picked up a similarly surprising amount of debris on its first run. I have a cat who somehow manages to track litter across the house, and it's extremely annoying to step on these hard bits while moving around the house barefoot. I didn't find a single bit that the Neato had left behind, though I did find a few lighter pieces of debris (like a bit of candy wrapper) that were probably so light the Neato just pushed it aside. It's easy to empty the machine (the chamber just pulls off the top) and it's got what seems to be a good filter. The debris chamber is large enough that I think I could probably set the thing to run 4-5 times a week in my house before needing to empty it. Your milage will vary, of course. You can set a variety of zones, both for cleaning and to specify where the robot should not go, and you can set schedules for cleaning each zone (or several specific zones at once) or the entire map. One feature of my home is a curved step-down area separating the living and dining areas. Previous robots I tried became extremely confused by this. Never driving off, but constantly checking the curve for the drop. The Neato just sort of "saw" it, navigated around it, and that was the end of it. In testing, I placed a large box in one of my cleaning zones, and the Neato handled it without a hitch. It saw the box, cleaned around it, and finished it's cleaning routine without issue. When the Neato is done, it drives itself back to the base and backs itself into place. It sort of wiggles it's way back, which is weirdly cute to watch. The biggest con is that my cat has no interest in riding it. Most unfortunate. Neato makes an excellent robot vacuum and I'd recommend this model for anyone looking to automate their floor cleaning.

Strong and semi smart
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Neato Robotics - D10 is not just a simple machine. It has many levels of function and complexity. Don’t buy this if you want something simple. If you are technically challenged, this also may not be the vacuum robot for you. The look of this vacuum robot is pretty cool and I prefer it over the regular oval or circle shaped vacuums. It’s kind of heavy which to me means the parts used to make this machine are of good quality. The app is pretty understandable. There areas that allow for greater quality in function but you don’t have to use to get a good vacuum. The dock is small and can be place most anywhere. I’ve found that when the vacuum robot gets stuck and won’t go in to a certain room or area of the room. A quick fix that I’ve found it turning the unit off and moving the dock to a different wall. That allows the sensors to approach objects at a different angle. I have uneven tile and old carport. Because of my busted flooring the vacuum can’t do it’s job correctly. That one less star is for me and the vacuum because it has tour up some edges of my rugs. This vacuum is strong.

Powerful and Quiet Smart Robo Vac
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Neato D10 is a powerful and quiet smart robot vacuum that maps out my home as it cleans. The smart app functionality was something I was blown away by on a competitor machine and the Neato app does as good if not a better job of "line sketching" its way to mapping out your floor plan. What I mean by sketching is it literally looks like it was Cel shaded or that Aha video where numerous line-driven sketches form out your space which is neat-o. The unit is well built, heavy and substantial, which you don't have to worry about after initial setup and taking it out of its box and cloth bag. Just sit the base against the wall, give it 12" on any side (this is so the Neato can clean around its own base station if needed), place the robot on the charger and let it charge to full before using it. After that, load up the app, name your robot and let it get to work! After having used these robotic vacuums enough to know, I try to force them to stay to a room initially to help mapping accuracy, but also so I don't have to clear the entire house floor plan for them to get started cleaning. As the robot learns 1 room, I will then remove barriers (boxes or strollers) that are blocking the progress of the robot so it can do other rooms. Realistically, this D10 will stay mostly in my Kitchen and I'll run it almost daily without having to really remove anything out of its way. In terms of usage, the D10 is very powerful and quieter overall than the unit I have from a competitor. It also seems to take a more natural approach to cleaning and mapping so it is not straying all over to try and map the boundaries of the room, it will stay in the general area and clean until that area is mostly done, then it will move to new areas and define its borders. The only thing I do wish is that the D10 came with an empty shoot in the wall mount so I don't have to empty it as much, but the unit is large enough and holds quite a bit, so emptying it is going to be infrequent anyways. Very cool unit overall, I'll have to see what kind of maintenance it requires over time and see how much new rollers and brushes cost, as those do tend to wear out over time and need to be replaced to keep the robot vacs running well.

Quiet and powerful. Almost as strong as my Dyson!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the Neato D7 before this. I upgrade and gave the D7 to a friend. Wow. This thing is much better. More powerful, quieter, the room scan is better and the navigation is better. It definitely works better than my brother's iRobot i9. It gets al the way into the corners and against the walls. All in all, the new look is great, but the small upgrades make this worth every penny

Has potential…one day.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been with Neato since the beginning and was excited and eager to upgrade my D7 when I saw the D10 was released. How times have changed, and not in a good way…let’s just say the D10 is now back with Best Buy and I’m back to my D7. The D10 looks like any other Neato but has a dark pseudo metallic finish and the lines are more sleek this time out. That wasn’t a factor for upgrading…the Max power setting, longer battery life and the “updated” app were. Set up as easier in the new app than my previous D7…I’ll give the app that..but that was it for improvements. The app UI is far clunkier to use that the older Neato app and the D10 was missing key features that my older model already had, eg., Easy Care, multiple maps and the remote control.manual function. I wrote Neato and they confirmed they were missing and “may” be added eventually…whaaaa? So I spend $800 on a new/improved model that has missing functions…ok…sure.plus, the map that is created on its initial run is all crooked and skewed. I have really nothing positive to say about the app and hope Neato makes serious improvements. Performance wise, the D10 has great suction power. The battery was amazing and in low speed is claimed by Neato to last 5 hours. That’s the good stuff…the D10 has memory issues… even after several full house cleanings, it still bumped into stuff constantly like it had never been there before. And with no Easy Care option yet, they were decent bumps. Plus, the No Go areas I set up had to be reset several times, as the D10 would not remember them. At that point, I gave up. Just wasn’t worth the $800 or my frustrations. The new D10 has real potential but not until Neato gets its act together and reworks the app ( to look and function like the old one that worked perfectly), fixes the software so the missing functions are returned, fixes the No Go zones and the D10 actually remembers the map it created. Until then, forget it. Talk about a huge disappointment after being such a champion of the brand. At least my D7 stills works well.

Great robot if you know how to use it
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great robot vacuum. Works better than Roomba or Shark, I tried both of them. This one is really powerful and leaves no pet hair on a carpet. I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. Looks like ppl just don't know how to use it. 1. Let it go around and scan your home, it will create a map. 2. It's not a human and if you have furniture etc there will be a couple of places where it gets stuck, it's normal. Create "no go" zones for those places or move things around to make them easier for the robot vacuum to deal with. That's it. Great robot vacuum, especially with the current 499 price. I put 4 stars only because it's not self-empty system, but otherwise no problems at all.

Overall very good, with room for improvement
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This isn't my first rodeo with a neato, it has been a few years though so I was looking forward to this new robot vacuum. What's in the box: vacuum, docking station, extra filters and a getting started guide. Setup: Actually, very easy. I have had other robot vacuums (or IoT devices in general) that are not always easy or user friendly to set up. This, I have to say, was very easy. Plug in the dock, peel off some protective layers on the vacuum, download the app and follow the instructions. It even uses bluetooth for the initial setup and wifi sync, which makes it very easy. All in all It took less than 10 minutes from opening the box to the vacuum on the app. Use: The first time you use the vacuum, you need to have it run a mapping session. Once the mapping session is done, you can set no-go zones, and name other zones. The app, though, still uses basic boxes for setting up zones, and doesn't automatically create zones like other brands. This is both a pro and a con as it is very customizable, but isn't quite as fast. Once they are set up, its just set and forget though. Vacuum: The smartness of the neato hasn't improved much over the years from what I can tell. It still uses the front bumper quite a bit as it can't judge distance as well as compared to some other brands with visual type cameras rather than just the LIDAR. With that said, it still navigates well and doesn't (very often) get stuck. The vacuum power has 3 different suction modes, and doesn't automatically adjust if it is on carpet or solid surface. I have wood floors, so it just runs on eco mode and manages to pick most everything up. The little side brush doesn't always spin though, and seems to not spin more often than it spins. there are a few rooms I have it skip because I'm afraid of it scratching the transition between rooms as it is a little bit of a hump; however, I don't think any robot vacuum could jump the hump that I have very easily, so not faulting the neato bandito. Battery life: Great. It cleans approx 700 square feet and only uses 25% or so of its battery. It can go back and re-charge and continue if you have a larger floor plan and need more battery life. Cons: There are a few things I feel this is lacking for its price range: Auto emptying dust container being the biggest one. And slightly better navigation that doesn't rely on the bumper as much. Overall: Vacuum works well and respects boundaries once the floor is mapped. There is definite room for improvement as the technology feels a little old on this, but is still a nice vacuum.

My map always comes out crooked
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For some reason no matter where I put my dock, the map always comes out crooked. There needs to be an option on the app to either straighten out the map or be able to rotate the squares you add to mark different areas. I also have a hard time connecting it to the app if I delete it and try to start over.

Total Disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So disappointed in this robot. I had a D7 that worked great when working but I had to send it in for repair three times before it finally quit connecting to the app. Neato customer service told me it was my internet. Funny how it had always connected for 2 years. I purchased the D10 because I thought the upgraded and new app along with the described features would be great. Boy was I wrong. The D10 has only made two complete cleaning runs. It has gotten stuck half way under my furniture, stuck on the edge of an area rug because it thinks it is near an edge such as stairs. It stops often saying it has a navigation error. When it cleans, it cleans well. But at this price point I want a robot that will complete a cleaning run without my help.
