I figured going with Dyson, given the quality of their products, was a safe bet. I was wrong. The High Torque brush worked once. The “hurricane” motion/mechanics stopped working as well. I went online to see if I could troubleshoot, but there were no obstructions of hair or fibers to clear. However, that did allow me to notice that the screws on the brush head were stripped. For a unit sold as new and not refurbished, that was unacceptable. I tried to return it to Best Buy and explain they had sold me a previously opened and obviously used product, but they wouldn’t take it back. Given all the items I buy from them year-round as well as purchase the Geek Squad add-on every year, I was disappointed. I’ve since called Dyson and sent the entire unit along with brushes directly to them. They’re replacing the unit once they receive the broken unit which all-in-all equals about 2 weeks, also inconvenient. Needless to say, I won’t be swayed in the future to purchase add-ons like Geek Squad or be sold by brand alone because in the end, a great brand can still produce a lemon.

The High Torque XL cleanerhead on the V15 Detect is engineered to automatically adjust itself to the flooring it's on, with a dedicated brushbar motor that's activated with the trigger is pulled. It's very peculiar to experience the intermittent spinning in the brushbar.
