Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Crayon Digital Pencil's ease of use, appealing price, and generally good battery life. Many appreciate its compatibility with iPads and the convenient charging. While some found the shape unconventional and noted the lack of pressure sensitivity, the overall experience for drawing and note-taking is positive for most users.

Apple Pencil for 1/2 the price I was skeptical but I’m glad I decided to get it Bc it’s super easy to pair n charge + it amazing for drawling or sketching but equally great for notes.

I purchased this pencil to make simple drawings and writing, also text selection and other basic stuff, and it’s working wonders. The tip is pretty fragile and any drop or hit to the tip will bent it and alter its function, having to replace it (fortunately any Apple Pencil tip will do, even Chinese ones). One super positive thing about this pencil is that it doesn’t need to sync with the device or anything, so it can be used on many devices at the same time (perfect for children in school I guess, for sharing). The major drawback: no pressure support, so artists are losing here.

Just as good as the Apple Pencil. It does not have the chat feature nor can it be wirelessly charged on your iPad but for 50 to 70 more dollars I would rather just charge it for 15 mins. Unless you’re a graphic artist it lacks the tap the pencil feature that the apple has. But again it is the same internal components without a magnet change coil and it’s cut out the accelerometer that makes tapping it to switch to another tool. Those two features may be worth it to some but for light use, this is the same and it uses apple tips and a lightning connector to charge.

At first, I was skeptical about the comfortability of holding this stylus because of its flat shape. But, after trying it out for a week now, it turns out to be very comfortable to hold. My main use for it is to take class notes. I have the iPad 9th generation, so there is a tapping noise when I write on the screen compared to the soft tip of the Apple pencil. However, that aspect alone isn't a deal breaker, because this stylus provides very stable and accurate marks on my ipad so I am satisfied with my purchase.

I think the crayon is mightier than the pencil. Easier to hold, so much easier actually. I would avoid taking the pencil to meetings because I'd end up typing instead. With this, I can see myself using throughout the day. You do not get to have the eraser or tapping functions though. I don't mind, well worth it.

This was a less expensive option to the apple pencil and works great with the ipad. Only issue is, the pencil uses a the lighting cord for charging and the new ipad useds a usb-c cord.

A Digital Pencil for the Rest of Us

When I first opened up the package for the Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil for the iPad, I was a little put off by the orange rubber cap and stylus tip shroud. I was used to the smooth and solid feel of the Apple Pencil. However, after spending some time with the Crayon, I quickly became comfortable with the grip and feel of the rubbery touch for my fingertips while also providing a firm aluminum grip of the body. Combined with the flattened shape, which prevents it from rolling off the desk, I soon fell in love with the comfortable feel of this digital pencil. Aside from the comfort of this device, it is a solid contender for the digital pencil space for the iPad. I always grumble a little when my iPad forgets about the Apple Pencil, and I have to plug it into the iPad slot for pairing. This is not the case with the Crayon. Just turn it on, and the iPad automatically connects via Bluetooth. However, you do have to make sure to un-pair the Apple Pencil if you want to use the Crayon. Charging of the Crayon is a breeze. Lift the orange cap and plug a standard iPad charging cable into it. Mine took around 20 minutes to charge fully. If you need a quick charge to hold you for approximately 30 minutes, you can plug it in for a couple minutes for a quick boost. The battery life is around 7 hours, which is 5 hours less than the Apple Pencil. That being said, you can turn off the Crayon to make it last longer. You can’t do that with the Apple Pencil. Personally, I like being able to charge the Crayon with a cable. I’m always fearful of snapping the connector off the end of the Apple Pencil or worse - destroying the connector in the iPad itself. The Crayon is just as precise as the Apple Pencil when it comes to drawing and writing. It supports palm pressure cancellation, which is an absolute requirement for me. While it does not support stylus tip pressure for ink flow, and other painting options, it does support tilt for thicker lines. I tested mine with Pixelmator, Paper, GoodNotes, Linea Sketch, and OneNote without any problems. The precision was just as good as the Apple Pencil us and I’m not a graphic artist who needs the stylus tip pressure support. If you’re a professional digital artist, I would say stick with the Apple Pencil, especially if you’re already used to the stylus tip pressure support. For the rest of us, I highly recommend the Logitech Crayon. At a lower price point with a quality feel and a comparable precision, this is a deal hard to pass up. Pros • Palm Pressure support • Quick charging • Does not roll off the desk • Microlight status indicator • Can turn it off when not using • Automatically pairs with the iPad • Tilt support for thicker lines • Comfortable to grip and use • The tip is just as precise as the Apple Pencil • $30 cheaper than the Apple Pencil Cons • Stylus tip pressure not supported • Shorter battery life than the Apple Pencil • Requires a cable for charging • Requires 2018 or newer iPad

If you don't want a headache after using it for a few months, spend $30 more dollars to get an apple pen. This pencil is a troublesome. It will stop working at some point. Considering the difference in price between apple pencil and this one, this pencil is not worth buying.
