Perfect for College, Stuck Mousepad
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop in the fall of 2021 for college. It performs great and is perfect for note taking and online classes. It is very fast, lightweight and has done great thus far. The mousepad has started to stick and has become an inconvenience. It works by just tapping the desired side of the mousepad, but it won't click anymore so I am unable to highlight, click and drag and perform other necessary functions. Other than that, it was a great purchase! I paired the laptop with the Bamboo stylus and they are the perfect pair!

best budget hp laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its really nice laptop for college work, i have picked up an open-box from the BB store nearby to save some money. So far i am very happy with the laptop. Its slim, light weight yet very powerful and in my few weeks of use i have found no issues. Upgraded windows 10 to 11 immediately since it was free and everything seems to be working really well. The display is little glossy so naturally it has relfection when you use it outdoors. But it very crisp and sharp to read anything on the screen. Blutooth and wireless card are the latest and worked like a charm with wireless headphones and my home wifi. Very quiet even in some heavy use, not sure if its the new windows or the i5 process that handles everything exceptionally well. The 2-in-1 functionality i have tried and is very cool, though i prefer to use it mostly as a laptop and not tablet. Backlit keyboard is a blessing, since the letters on the key are white and hard to see in bright day light settings. Battery life is ok i think, not that great but thats how most laptops are to my experience. Just keep your charger handy if you take it out and intend to work for longer hours. Trackpad is big and very responsive also, although the click feels ok. Overall i liked it for everyday normal usage as a personal laptop and can recommend it to anyone.

HP Pavilion 14 combination laptop/tablet
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP Pavillion 14inch 360 combination was a good choice for me and recommended by the Best Buy representative. Easy to start-up with voice instructions. Simplest start-up so far. I like that it’s a touch-screen laptop and a tablet. I bought the HP Tilt Pen, but the jury is still out on it. Not a lot of instruction on how to take advantage of the “tilt” to shade while drawing capability. It’s fast and has 1/2 terabyte of storage.

Terrific computer
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop for my business. It is lightweight, fast, and flexible. The touchscreen is really handy and the fact that it can be set up in horizontal or vertical is pretty cool. The screen can also fold all the way back against the keyboard so it can be used like a tablet. It has plenty of memory and disc storage, great speakers and a built in camera. Really enjoying this laptop!

Good value for money and functionality.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this HP for school. It does everything that I need it to. The touchscreen is nice and responsive, and the keyboard is precise and clicky which I like. The ability to flip it over to tablet is super cool. Comes with all of HP's "extra software" which kinda sucks, but other than that it does the job well. If you are looking for fast school laptop, this is great. It is not a gaming laptop and lacks in a few key areas to play some of the newer games well. Overall a very good laptop for the money.

Decent upper midrange laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second laptop purchase this year. Bought a higher end ASUS laptop to be my main windows device. This I bought because I wanted a smaller laptop that I could install Linux on to keep my fingers in that game too. While I wait for the latest version of the distro I plan on installing. I can review this as a windows machine. I also bought this open box, and during Memorial Day weekend. So, it was considerably less than full price. For what I actually paid, this is really good. At full price, there are two negatives. No backlight keyboard, which should be standard in the over $800 range, and the hinge is somewhat floppy if you have it open a bit beyond 90 degrees and then pick it up. Then it will flop to around 180 degrees. Both of which are quibbles. The keyboard feels good to me, and very much like the great keyboard on the Elitebook I have for work through my company. I would prefer that the tops of the keys were a bit textured, but the smooth and kind of slick keys are the style these days. Let's get into the positives. Performance is smooth, and gets close to the i7 ASUS I own. The trackpad is accurate, does multi touch gestures very well, and better than the one on the Elitebook I have. Frankly, several weeks in, this is the first laptop I haven't quickly paired a mouse with. That is saying something. The screen is reasonably bright for indoor use, but outdoor it isn't so great when the sun is high in the desert sky here in AZ. Touch screen works as expected. Audio is fine for the size of the device, I use this in tent mode a fair amount, and the speaker positioning is better than on my more expensive 2 in 1. The whole chassis is thin and light for the product class. You have to go up to the Envy line, or the XPS for Dell, and the Yoga 7 and 9 series for Lenovo. The Yoga 7 series is the closest comparison, and Whichever one is on better sale price any given day would be the better choice. Although the front edges on this one is less sharp than the Yoga. Which is something I appreciate. The fingerprint reader, coupled with Windows Hello works really well too. Also, this has a much more solid body than anything that is priced lower. There is a core i3 Pavilion that Best Buy has for 549 at full price that I was considering, but that has a body that has way more flex, and possibly less durability than this. At the sale price, the choice between the two ended up being a no brainer for me. I expect to get 5 to 6 years out of this, and have no regrets in this purchase.

Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is great for small business tasks, browsing or watching movies. I’ve used it for all. It’s very responsive, the battery charge lasts quite a while and it was easy to plug into a Dell docking station without any issues. Highly recommend!

Solid performance for a solid price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop just as I was beginning a teacher credential program. It has been absolutely perfect for everything I need on it. The 16gb of ram makes multitasking a breeze and its processor is strong enough to do a multitude of things. You won't be gaming with insane graphics or anything on here but it is enough to run games at low graphics setting or even emulators. The screen could be brighter and the battery could last longer but I keep my charger with me and I can also seem to find a place to charge nowadays. The folding/tablet feature and touchscreen are nice additions but really even without these features, this laptop is a solid choice for those looking to get the essentials done: writing papers, emails, video streaming, video conferencing, and more.

good for a computer dummy like me
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am in the generation that has trouble with new computers. This one is very much like that old one that died; so, it was rather easy for me to learn. There are many improvements which I have not conquered yet; but, I feel comfortable with it , which at for me is saying a lot. The screen is sharp and easy to read. I did not need the additional numbers on the right hand side as I do not use them. This made a smaller size which is fine for me. I will never be great ; but this is a good basic computer that meets my needs.
