    Exceptionally quiet and effective. The only drawback, imho, is that it has no pre filter for large dust particles. This may shorten the effectiveness of the filters

    First, anything Shark is likely to be fantastic but I never take this for granted and was very excited to give this a try. In recent years I have become more sensitive to air quality so I set it up in our bedroom. Speaking of setup it is super easy. Follow the quick set up guide and make sure to take the filter out and remove the plastic as directed. The unit actually detects air quality and in auto mode changes the filtration rate accordingly. Seriously this is a thing! I unscientifically tested this with various airborne substances and it is fast to determine air quality and to change the filtration rate and to tell you how clean the air is!! I was really impressed. For me, this feedback is really important. You can turn off the indicators for nighttime or to reduce distraction if you like - again shark thinks of everything! It is very quiet - nearly silent on the lower settings. Even on high it is extremely quiet emitting low level white noise of moving air and doesn't disturb us though very light sleepers may notice. I am not suggesting that you put it in your bedroom but it seemed the right choice for our household. So for me, I have noticed much less irritation and less need for allergy medication - not being a Dr. this is not medical advice but I couldn't be more happy with this product and I am confident to recommend it to anyone that is concerned about air quality due to specific medical reasons or just general health concerns for you and your family.
