Great little printer!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best printer for my needs! I love that it doesn't have the ink cartridges and can't wait to see if the ink lasts as long as it is supposed to. It prints faster than my old one and it is smaller and doesn't take up much room. The print quality is great! So far so good!

Epson Printer a cut above.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to follow setup instructions. Wifi response time is a bit slow to respond, however once printing the quality is good. Happy with the purchase especially the ink life time compared with their competitors who soak customers with ink cartridge life and cost.

Epson Printer Not Quite as Great as Shaq Indicated
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased the Epson ET-3850 in February 2023. We previously had an HP printer, but it would often print with lines on the paper, so we needed something with better quality printing. We us our printer for personal needs, but often use color printing and scanning capabilities. Like other reviews, we found the set up to be cumbersome. My husband is an IT professional, and yet it still took him a couple hours to get it all set up. Once set up, we had lots and lots of wi-fi connectivity issues. For some reason the printer would lose wi-fi connection, and the only way to get it restarted was to restart the computer, printer and run the diagnostic - sometimes multiple times. Due to the continual wifi connection issues, we have reverted to using a direct connect cable. Note that the cable is an "older version" with one square end and one USB end - luckily we had an old one of these laying around. My husband works in a different room, so having to use the wired connection for printing each time is inefficient. And the fact the control panel isn't touchscreen is a nuisance, but not that big of a deal. We do really like the compact size of the printer, and the ecotank for ink works very nicely. I have printed quite a bit in two months, and have only used 1/4 of the ink. The print quality is very good, and the speed is pretty good on heavy color powerpoints. Generally, I would say print quality is better than the old HP, but the wifi issue is much worse. And our old old Brother was the best of all three, but it was very large and took a lot of room on our desk. But I think I'll go back to Brother next time.

Good choice for a small business
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice printer/scanner ,the eco tank ink does last a long time. Easy to install and software is top notch. Only complaints are the ADF jams regularly and the controls are basic.

Perfect size and easy to install
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love that it's small, it has all the features I needed and easy to install. The best part I only needed to purchase paper to print as it comes with the ink.

So worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best printer I've ever owned as a teacher! I'm still making copies on my first round of ink and I made two sets of centers, as well as printed a set of writing curriculum and centers for opinion, narrative, and informational. It's also very easy to use with my phone. After I take pictures of my students for their projects they are so easy to print!

Great Printer So Far
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer replaced a several years old Workforce 520 that was great but was starting to give me trouble. I really like this new printer and think the EcoTank system will save money in the long run. Setup was somewhat convoluted as I needed to connect directly to my iMac (new M4) with the special Epson USB cable that I had fortunately kept from my old printer. I did try setting this up via wifi but for me this did not work (after getting it setup on the network others are able to easily "find" and connect). The print quality is very good and so far I am pleased with the purchase.

Great EcoTank printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent printer for the price. I was able to take advantage of printer recycling which also saved money. This is my second Eco Tank printer, and I would never want to go back to replacable ink cartridges again. Set up was easy. Wireless and air print both work well. Printer is fast, and prints come out looking great.

Home printer, great features, reasonable price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced my PIXMA which I had for a long time and liked. This was less expensive and I like the ink refill system. I like that it is compact does duplex printing, prints quickly, has a feeder in addition to the flatbed scanner. I need to learn how to do a few more things yet but it seems reasonably intuitive.

I would pass on this one
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great product...when you can get it to work correctly. For me, that's only about half the time I'm trying to print something. I like that it prints on both sides of the paper and that the screen will walk you through several processes if you need help. On the other hand, it jams often, it needs cleaning just about every time it's used, and is very finicky about connecting to household devices.

Excellent MFC at this price point
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this printer. It actually was pretty easy to set up, even though Epson seems much more PC-oriented rather than Mac-oriented (which I have). It was easy to load the ink tanks and not messy at all. It is taking me some time to get used to how Epson uses the LCD screen, but overall the prints are excellent and it's easy to use.

Excellent purchase a refurbished one and save $$
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first bought a refurbished one. It was defective. I returned it and they said there were no more available so I bought a new one. Then I saw online there were refurbished ones so I returned the new one and got a 2nd refurbished one. So far so good! I really like it by the time I set up the 3rd one it was a breeze. I like BB warranty, etc. They stand behind their products. I do recommend this printer.

Epson Eco Tank - don't regret purchase.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it. Easy to set up. For home office use. Quality of prints is excellent. Have made a decent number of copies and if I would have been using my old cartridge printer, ink would have gone down half by now. Ink level still almost full.

Excellent Printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Epson printer to replace a HP Officejet pro. Although I’ve only used it for a couple of months, I think the Epson is better than the HP. Set up was relatively easy. Ink capacity seems huge. Physical foot print is small and the printer is attractive. Printing (wireless) works well as doe Air Print. Scanning is also vey easy to use. Copying works well, BUT there is no tough screen. You need to use buttons. Printer was not cheap (initial cost) though. I’ll need to evaluate life cycle costs later as I expect the ink cost will be low.

Affordable printing at last, with a tradeoff.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ET-3850 delivers in its main promise - affordable inkjet printing, at last. It is a disruptive product in what had become a stagnate market segment. In this new business model, the cost of designing and building a printer is recovered at purchase, rather than through ink cartridge purchases down the road. Contrast this to the HP ‘razor blade and razor’ model, which enticed many users, myself included, to eventually buy 3rd party ink cartridges that void your warranty. The tradeoff here is that the ET-3850 is clearly built to a price point. Compared to the HP OfficeJet Pro printer it replaced in our home, it’s a lightweight. The functionality and economy are so good that this seems like a fair tradeoff, but there are some design elements that can seem cheap. Among these are the front panel, a faux honeycomb that looks worse in white than it would in black, which is an option but does not seem to have hit the USA market yet. My unit (or units, I bought two) also had poorly aligned product labels, and issues with the online the product registration, which I had to work out with Epson by email and, eventually, by phone. With that out of the way, let me tell you what Epson got right. The ink system is genius, from the large, keyed bottles that automagically stop filling when the tanks are full, to the transparent ink tanks that let you see how much ink is left. I did find it a little curious that the ink level in the ‘maintenance box’ (a $10 consumable item that captures any purged ink) is shown with a graphic that represents remaining capacity rather than fill level, which is the opposite of how ink levels are shown. Once you understand how this works it’s a non-issue. The app you use to setup the printer works great and is a nice innovation. For those without a computer, this is very convenient. But it’s also a win if you will be connecting a computer or connecting this printer to your network, because it decouples the printer setup and any connecting issues you might have. This is the step up model from the ET-2850, gaining a 250 sheet bottom feeding paper tray (vs. a 100 sheet rear tray), an auto document feeder, an Ethernet port, and faster printing. It runs $100 more than the ET-2850, which seems steep but was worth it to me.

Very Nice Inkjet Printer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The network setup went smoothly with no issues. I used a network cable to attach it to my router. The EcoTank feature for filling the printer with ink is simple and pretty goof proof. It is bound to save money over time since all you have to purchase is ink to refill the ink tank. I also like the large paper capacity. The only drawback I have experienced so far is that the LCD screen IS NOT a touchscreen. Seems like Epson missed the opportunity to have a super nice printer here since most printers in its category have a touchscreen. The printer that my new Epson 3850 replaced had a touchscreen. So, I find myself trying to use the LCD screen as a touchscreen instead of using the button panel to the right of the touchscreen. I will eventually get used to it, but a touchscreen should have been designed into this printer. No real complaints. The Epson 3850 appears to be an excellent printer.
