Corded power in a cordless vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark - Cordless Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away is an impressive cordless vacuum. It is the most powerful cordless vacuum in our home. Unboxing was a simple task. Everything was delivered in perfect condition. Each piece was protected by a heavy-duty paper-type bag along with cardboard supports to facilitate stable, damage-free shipping. Assembly was an easy-to-follow five-step process. The removeable battery is a welcome feature, should it ever need replacement. There is a handy battery charging stand/cradle included. It has three suction cups on the bottom to keep it in place and upright. Strictly speaking, it is optional, but it is very convenient. It positions the battery so that charging status is readable at a glance using the three-segment led semicircle around the battery top. A full charge takes approximately 3.5 hours. The floor nozzle has LED headlights that do a great job illuminating the floor ahead. They really take the guesswork out of identifying bits that need to be picked up. Vacuum operation mode and battery status are communicated via a large, easy-to-read display on the handle. It clearly displays remaining battery percentage, the selected floor type, the suction power setting, and also filter status. Three convenient pushbuttons select all functionality. Motor speed/suction level is selectable. The default speed is called “Deep Clean.” It is the middle power setting and is suitable for most every task and type of floor. There is also an “Eco” mode that maximizes battery life, but the reduction of suction performance is pretty noticeable. I would only use it on dusty solid surfaces or to pick up messes like pet hair, etc. The third suction setting is “Boost.” It does a great job with stubborn debris in a carpet and pulling dust from the corners. Obviously, the battery life takes a hit (I watched it drop 10% in under a minute), so use it in moderation. We used the vacuum for 40 solid minutes, and about 37 of those minutes were at the default suction. Battery level was still at 10% when done. Then I just placed the battery in the charging cradle, and it was ready to go for next time. The vacuum does a great job regardless of floor type and even performs well along baseboards and under the edges of counters. Its suction rivals our corded vacuums. The Shark - Cordless Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away also converts from traditional upright floor vac to a handheld canister-style vac. Simply depress a button, and the vacuum pod separates from the floor nozzle; hence the “Lift-Away.” It is lightweight enough to use comfortably on the stairs and furniture, and it also tackles overhead cleaning tasks with ease. The included attachments ensure the right tool for the job as within easy reach. There is easy access to the two onboard air filters. They can be cleaned with warm water and reused after they have been allowed to completely air-dry. The brush roller does a good job of picking up hair without wrapping and tangling it around the roller. If it needs cleaning or replacement, it is easy to remove and replace with a simple pushbutton release. Overall, I am very impressed by the Shark - Cordless Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away and recommend it without reservation.

Awesome Cordless Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Cordless Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away is a pretty awesome cordless vacuum. I have owned a few cordless vacuums over the years and this one is most certainly the best. The vacuum looks great and was easy to assemble. It comes with a large cylindrical battery that charges in a couple of hours. Once the battery was charged, I was able to vacuum my entire house on full power (boost mode) within 30 minutes without the battery going dead. The battery has a longer runtime of 1 hour in the lower suction power ECO mode. The performance of the vacuum in Boost mode was equivalent to my Shark full-size upright corded vacuum. The vacuum is lightweight and easy to maneuver. My house is a mixture of hardwood floors, ceramic tile, and carpet, and the vacuum did an excellent job of picking up dirt and dog hair from these surfaces. It has a self-cleaning brushroll and I have not noticed any hair wrapping around the brushroll like I do with my other vacuums. It has a nice, easy-to-read digital display that clearly indicates the remaining battery life and the various modes that the vacuum is in. The vacuum is versatile and, by lifting away the pod from the brushroll, it was easy to transfer the vacuum into a handheld vacuum or a vacuum with a long reach stick. The vacuum has LED headlights to light up the path as you are vacuuming. The capacity of the dust cup is not super large, but it is large enough to vacuum a good size house before needing emptying. It also comes with a few attachments (Crevice Tool, Pet Multi-Tool & Anti-Allergen Dusting Brush) that adds to the versatility of the machine. As an added bonus, the vacuum has a HEPA filter that does an excellent job of capturing dust and dander as you vacuum. The Wife Acceptance Factor (WAF) of this vacuum is good...it has replaced our corded full-size vacuum as the household vacuum of choice with no complaints. Highly recommended!!

Versatile vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum has several really nice features. The battery has much better life than my Dyson. Suction power is more than adequate. You can easily switch between Eco, Deep Clean, or Boost modes. It is a simple push of a button to switch from hard floor to carpet. The battery charges relatively fast compared to others I have used. The best part of the vacuum is the fact that it doesn't get long hair tangled up in the brush head. It is all funneled into the trap. I always hate cleaning hair out of my other vacuums, so this is a huge plus for me. Another great thing about this vacuum is its versatility. You can change it from upright to hand-held to long-reach to carry. With the available attachments you can handle any situation you can think of. My only complaint is that with the 3 attachments it came with, there was no attachment bag included, nor was there a way to attach them to the vacuum. So now I just have loose attachments that I have to keep up with, when it would have been so easy for Shark to include an attachment bag with the vacuum. I would still recommend this vacuum.

Almost perfect! An excellent cordless vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great vacuum for small needs, and I think it is terrific! I’ve been impressed with tech and innovation from other SharkNinja products and this Vertex vacuum is no exception. I need a vacuum that could handle a small apartment, tuck neatly out of the way, but always be on call when I need it. The Lift-Away cordless model fits the bill and I recommend it highly. The stylish design is very modern, and similar to that other very expensive brand on the market. The materials used seem to be first quality, and everything snaps together easily and quickly. Set up is a breeze, I was up and charging the battery within 15 minutes of unpacking the box. Instructions were clear, and there is plenty more information online should you be interested. Once charged the battery popped out of the cradle and directly into the vacuum effortlessly. It just worked… The power button pushed, and the vacuum sprang to life! There are different power modes available, from light duty to full-out “I got a dirty carpet” turbo mode! The different levels allow you to adjust to the type of cleaning you need to accomplish. Of course as would be expected, the more power you use the faster the battery will drain. More on that in a minute. My floors are linoleum in every room, except tile in the bathroom and carpet in the bedroom. In the living room there is an area run. The adjustable power settings made it super easy to go from linoleum to carpet, to maximize efficiency while still accomplishing the task. The power brush head could also be turned on and off with a switch on the handle. The pick-up power is impressive, easily enough to clean my carpet, and of course the hard floor areas. Navigating the area rug was expectedly tricky as the ends often got caught up in the power brush. But that just proves it’s doing its job well. I was very impressed by the amount of dirt that ended up being captured and also loved the ease of removing and emptying the container quickly The build construction is excellent, especially at this price point. I anticipate it holding up for a long time. The noise level of the Vertex is not bad, it gets a little noisier in Boost mode. But overall I find it quieter than a plug-in style vacuum. When in full upright connector mode the Vertex maneuvers easily and quickly. It’s weight distribution is well thought out, and I had no problem going from room to room, under chairs and around corners. The swivel base made getting into corners and tight spots easy. The bright LEDs on the front of the base lit up those dark spaces so I was able to judge quickly whether the dirt was picked up or if I needed to go over the spot again. The attachments that come with the Vertex aren’t an overwhelming variety, I found just the right ones were included for this type of vacuum. An attachment for tight spots, a small head for miscellaneous surfaces, and a dusting brush. The one thing that was missing was a bag to keep them in. I thought that was a little silly and an oversight, but not a big deal. Fortunately I had an extra bag hanging around that I was able to use. PROS Outstanding build quality In Boost mode - it has a powerful pickup In non-Boost mode it is quiet Easy to maneuver on the floor in tight spaces Ingenious design to go from floor vac to portable vac Easy to empty canister Stows away easily Different power levels adjust to need and extend battery life Informative display Easy to transform from one use to the next. Just snap, click and away you go! CONS A little noisy in Boost Mode In Boost Mode the battery gets consumed quickly. Use it sparingly. If you don't touch Boost mode you can expect an hour of use. If you use Boost mode - maybe half that... In Boost mode you can watch the battery power bars drop in real time. A little pricey (but cheaper than the competition) Missing a storage bag for the accessories Summary This cordless vacuum is amazing, it’s perfect for my needs, and I am seriously happy with it! It’s a keeper!

I like it just wish it had a little more!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this is a wonderful vacuum cleaner especially for stairs! I love the different modes that it has to save battery but I wish it came with an option to purchase an extra battery with it. The part I've always had difficulty with with my previous vacuums, is vacuuming the stairs. I love the fact that you can dismount this from the main part with it being as light as it is, and vacuum the stairs with ease. I also love the different attachments to help me get the areas over my blind and windows without having to worry about getting tangled up in cords. I think would also be nice if this was a dual vacuum, meaning that you could also have a plug attached that you can use in areas you really don't need it to be cordless so you can save your battery life at times. I think this will make this vacuum that much better! I could typically do about four rooms before the vacuum is completely dead or suction gets weaker. Overall I believe this is a really good vacuum and really lightweight! I already recommended this to a few of my relatives who went out and got one.

Finally corded power with a battery
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent vacuum. There is more than enough power to clean any type of rug properly. There is an additional boost option I haven't even needed to use with both regular and thicker pile rugs. It also works great in a more low power mode for hardwood and tile floors. In the past several manufacturers including Shark have made claims of corded power which was questionable at best. This absolutely can replace a corded vacuum. You can tell they put lots of time into the design. The battery is removeable unlike other brands which is so handy because you can put the charging dock anywhere. We have 2 dogs and pet hair is a non issue to clean up and so far no clogging or tangles at all. It's also a nice machine for portability. I cleaned my baseboards easily and lint behind the dryer and it worked great. The runtime seems great. I cleaned my entire 2,000 house and used about 75% battery. I'm always super skeptical about claims that manufacturers make especially with cleaning power and battery life and so far the claims they advertise are true. Nice work Shark.

Another Shark, Another Winner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Is my second Sharp Vacuum. Assembly took less than 5 minutes. Love the overall design including the color. Easy to maneuver and fits good under low areas with the pod lifted away. I usually pick up vacuums when done to transport them to storage and this vacuum has a nice built in handle and weight balance when carrying around. Very easy and simple to use functions. Has both floor and carpet settings and a turbo speed boost selection. I have used it a few times now and still shows 100% power available. The Hepa filters have easy access. Battery charges in a charging cradle and easy install to vacuum. There are a few updates that I would like to see (minor annoyances) The vacuum does not provide tool storage. Has good suction when using lift away but had to roll over small loose debris a few times. Seems like the vacuum head could use a little more weight to keep pressure on carpet. I still feel this is a major step in the right direction for cordless vacuums and shark has always been a innovator. Love their products!

Great Vacuum that Stands on its own!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own another stick style cordless vacuum which I use often for floors but it will not stand up on its own because the motor is at the top and makes it very top heavy. This new Shark style has solved that problem! It will stand on its own! The vacuum looks and acts like a traditional plug in unit with a hose that allows it to be used as a canister style vacuum. The LED headlights not only work well, they are an unusual but welcome addition to a cordless vacuum! Charging of the battery is done by removing it and placing it in the table top charger. For my use, that works well as I don’t have an outlet in the closet where I store the vacuum. It takes about 3 hours to charge then shuts off automatically. Inserting and removing the battery is extremely easy. While I have not calculated the exact run time per charge, I would say I get at least 35-45 minutes of run time using the middle (default) speed. The soft rollers in the brush head are excellent for cleaning my vinyl laminate flooring as well as my carpets. The rollers turn slow in the hard floor setting and won’t scratch your wood or vinyl floors. In carpet mode the rollers go much faster and almost sound like a beater bar on carpets. I usually use the middle default speed and find it works amazing well and saves battery life. Occasionally I will change to high speed for short periods where something won’t pick up. I really like the ability to remove the power head and use the vacuum as a canister for use on stairs and furniture. It lifts off easily and clicks back on easily. I also like to remove the power head when I need to get the power brush head under low furniture! Suction power is good but not as high as a plug in vacuum when using the attachments. However suction on floors and carpet is very good as the soft rollers really pick up dirt off the floor! Surprisingly the edge cleaning ability is also very good with the soft rollers. I like the large dust collection container as it’s easy to remove and easy to empty. Conclusion: I really like this vacuum. It’s well balanced; it will stand up on its own, has decent suction and cleans floors very well. The battery life is good. The battery level remaining display on the handle is excellent to keep you informed of how much is left. The ability to change brush head speed and suction level on the handle is also very convenient. All parts click easily and securely together. Overall I have to say it’s a well built and versatile vacuum. And you won’t miss the cord! I would recommend!

Versatile Cordless Multi-Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Small and lightweight, this cordless vac makes daily cleaning easier since it is easy to use without a cord and has pretty good battery life. Several suction and power settings provide options available for your specific task. I really like the lift away and stick modes as I have more than one flight of stairs to clean. Th lift away mode makes it easier to navigate while also reducing weight and not having to use the entire unit. Nice feature also is the self cleaning brush. Kinda not a fan of taking vacuums apart to clean out hair and such. This is a nice little unit so far!

Very good cordless vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this item at no cost from the tech insider network to provide my unbiased opinion. I have 2 other shark vacuums at my house including the apex duoclean, which has been my favorite standard corded vacuum I have used in years, including ones from Dyson, samsung, and Orek. Comparing this to the standard vacuums, this is very similar the suction and power of the apex. The battery life on low I could easily see lasting 1 hour, but generally I run medium to high and that banks me anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes of mixed use runtime. The recharge time is between 3 to 4 hours. This is comparable to the Samsung cordless stick I have tested (jet 70). The suction is very good, with filter access and cannister dumping very logical. The conversion to cannister to stick is easy, and the unit is fairly light. I Plan on making this my stairs unit that can be maneuvered better than my other vacuums, but there is no powered handheld tool like my big apex vacuum, and trying to use the head on this in stick form is clunky, because it has no way to keep it on and at a comfortable angle, it wants to dangle straight. The weight is a bit heavier than the samsung unit, but the head on this is great at getting everything from crumbs to threads and pet hair. Overall, very nice unit, competative pricing and functions. The attachments are all good (crevas tool, blind tool, non powered brush). I Would recommend this to anyone looking for a good cordless unit. Powerful enough it could replace a corded one

Awesome little machine with serious power/suction
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me say I have tried plenty of vacuums and previously have been a Dyson fan, but sadly disappointed by them in the past few years and discarded my house of all things Dyson recently. However it did make room for this little machine which I was happy to see Shark has stepped up its game and gone head to head with the likes of Dyson and others and created a cordless unit for all types of floors with serious suction and power. This unit has all kinds of bells and whistles and its nice to see another manufacturer taking the lead on vacuums since Dyson has fallen short and gotten too expensive. This unit not only has detachable tools, it is easy to handle and is small enough to carry and move around the house. It holds a good enough battery life, although wish it was a bit longer. The one issue I will say is my biggest complaint with this unit is its dirt receptacle which is very small and dog hair wraps itself around an inner spool and you end up having to pull the wrapped hair out by hand which is odd. Other than that I would highly recommend it.

Portable with full-size ability
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this vacuum. It's very close to a full-size vacuum, but no cord required. It has everything you need to clean your carpets, floors, and furniture. You have 3 speeds, and can enable or disable the main brush depending on the surface you're on to save the battery. Speaking of battery, I was able to clean roughly 750 sq. ft. of carpet plus my kitchen and dining room area on a single charge and still have some juice left. You can tell how much juice you have left by checking the IQ display. Depending on your situation, you may need to recharge the battery every time for the next time. This requires removing the battery and placing it in the charger which is small enough to put in a corner somewhere out of the way. Basically, you may need to plan ahead. You can also remove the main body of the vacuum and have just the hose connected. This would be extremely useful for cleaning stairs, cars, or otherwise tight spots. The only complaint I have is that the attachments that come with it do not have a spot on the vacuum to store them. Likes: 1.) Powerful, cleans very well 2.) Enough power to get most jobs done in one charge 3.) No cord Dislikes: 1.) No storage space on vacuum for attachments

Love the light !
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, so I love the light, I feel like I can see every single particle. It also actually fits under the couch. I don’t really like that I have to remove the battery to charge it each time, does not come with an extra battery or filter rollers etc.. I do like that it can stand without falling and I don’t need a holder like my other vacuums. Battery life is decent and I love the hose and tools it comes with. One con is when putting it on the high mode to clean it can get very noisy. Other than that I love it better than my LG vacuum!

I really wanted to hate this vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to hate this vacuum, I really did. Just because of the price point. Its the same cost as a full sized corded one. However, there are so many pros to this. Its one of the largest dust holders ive seen for a cordless vacuum, it lasts to do my house on one battery, when we move we might need to get a second one. The suction is alright, but when trying to conserve on battery you lose on that a little, run at high and its all the power / suction you need. Shark does it again, with making the dual bottom brushes with zero m, and extra pick up needs. Overall best cordless vacuum out there in my opinion, one of the higher prices, but worth it.
