Functional, but do you really need it?

This is an impressive and imposing device. When I first received it, I was definitely intimidated by it. It is large, heavy, and has numerous pieces. The first recipe that I tried was the Buffalo Cauliflower Bites. This is marked as an “advanced” recipe, and it definitely is. I was expecting to have the device make things easier. However, after an hour and 45 minutes, they were tasty. I then when to a beginner recipe (roasted Brussels Sprouts with Sriracha Mayo) at it was much less difficulty. I’d recommend starting with the easy recipes to get a feel for how the machine works. The actual operation isn’t that difficult. You simply select the type of cooking you want to do, set the temperature and time, and it is generally good to go (unless the recipe calls for manipulation of the food mid-timer). When this is called for, you definitely need good oven mitts, because pulling a metal basket out of a 390 degree chamber is not easy with just pads. What is this good for? I don’t really know. It is definitely more utility if you’re interested in a pressure/slow cooker. However, other functions are redundant with a toaster oven, stove, or regular oven. I’m struggling to figure out who would need something like this. Perhaps this is something good for a college student who doesn’t have access to a full kitchen? Or maybe a camper if you don’t want to heat up the place with the oven? Beyond that, I’m not really sure who the target is for this.

    Great All Round Cooker

Overall for a machine that does so much, bake, saute, pressure cook, steam, and air crisp(air fry) it does surprisingly good. The pressure cooker is a great addition for any kitchen that does not already have one, and it is a good space saver if you need both a pressure cooker and air fryer (although they call it air crisping). Heating times are reasonable and for a multi purpose machine it's pretty good at what it does. The only thing I would say is it's not quite as good at air frying as a single use machine, but it is good enough to get the job done.

    Good but Complicated

The Ninja cooker is a great cooker that can do a lot. Slow cook, air fry, dehydrate, and more. That’s also the slight downfall of this unit. It’s not just set it and forget it depending on what your cooking. The included instruction manual provides some great recipes, but I’ve been afraid to try something new as the unit can be complicated between the many cooking choices and two lids. I think once you get used to cooking with the unit, it can replace a number of other appliances. Cleanup is simple as much is dishwasher safe.

Worked well for a while but then it kept giving me Pot signs and would stop working unless that sign stoped.

    Really Good, But...

I really like this. It is as great as everyone says it is. However, my neighbor has the next model up (OP302) and it has a dehydrator that this model does not. If I cared enough to haul this 30 pound beast of a cooker back for a refund, I'd probably pay the extra twenty bucks for the next model up so I could get a dehydrator. Not unhappy with this, but if you'll use a dehydrator, get the OP302 model instead of this.

    6 quart + 8 quart Better ++++

I have a 6 quart and an 8 quart. The 8 quart is taller & will accommodate a large roasting hen or small Turkey. I also like making large batches of homemade soup & freezing it. The 8 quart allows me to make more.

    Works-But not for long

I can't say this is anything special, except it does have the air fry capability, but now that Instant Pot has the accessory air fry lid, even that doesn't set it apart. Ours was purchased when they were fairly new to the market and paid over $225 retail. We used it for 18 months and it has quit working. All totaled, retail cost, tax and shipping, it figures out to about $15 a month. It just isn't worth it. Getting in contact with Ninja has proven impossible. I should have known when they warranty their blender system for 24 months and this pot for only 12, there was something wrong and it couldn't be expected to last. It simply costs too much money for its expected lifespan. You can spend less on another brand and get the same functionality. I'm giving it two stars because it did function for a while, but then so would almost any brand.

So many things in one machine

I've had my foodi just about 2 weeks now and I'm in love. I've made so many things in it already including a couple recipes from the cookbook and even my picky kids loved the food I've made. So far it looks like I'll be using my foodi multiple times a week. It makes cooking enjoyable and easy. Tonight my bone in chicken breasts weren't completely thawed and before I got the foodi that would've meant making an alternate dinner but with the foodi I just popped that frozen chicken in the foodi, pressure cooked it for about 17 minutes then finished it by air crisping for about 15 minutes. From frozen to done and on the table in less than an hour. Amazing!

The ninja foodi is an excellent 1 pot beast! You can do so much in the foodi. Its great for quick snacks like Chicken Nuggets, Pizza Rolls, and Mozzarella Sticks. Gets them nice and crispy. What is great about the unit is the 1 pot recipes like being able to cook Mac and Cheese and then bake breadcrumbs all in the same unit. The nonstick coating of the pressure cooking pot makes clean up a breeze.

    Excellent unit

My wife. and I have had this unit for 2 months now and enjoy using it for cooking the both of us. It is flexible in what you can cook with it. The only downside we have had is the the pressure cooking with the height of our cabinets is challenging and the short power cord means you can't move it very far from a power outlet.

    Great but Lid issue

Pressure cooker will Still cook even when lid is Incorrectly placed, causing a risk of exposure and injury. My elderly parents might put lid on incorrectly as already have. Pressure cooker shouldn’t continue if lid placement is wrong. Otherwise, great food and crispy results. Love it

I do not know what all the hype is about. I can do better with my slow cooker. My chicken didn't taste any different. And that was after all the prep needed. I was really looking forward to this, but now it's going back. Also like one other, How do you clean the fan. Not very sanitary.
