Not quit baked
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a tough review for me to do. I was looking for a simple laptop that I could use strictly to surf the internet. By all accounts the HP DQ3000DX should fit the bill, but there are a few things that keep it from measuring up. When unboxing the HP dq3000dx my first impression was it was heavier than I had anticipated. I was amazed with the overall look and features it includes. The body of the laptop is made of plastic and has an inexpensive feel to it to keep cost down I suppose. Feature wise, the HP includes all the usual connections, multi card reader, 2 USB-A, 1 USB-C, HDMI output and a mini jack for headphones. The keyboard layout is comfortable and responsive, with good feedback. The screen is detailed enough for this price point. The operating system is Windows 11S to keep out unauthorized apps and maintain security of the system. Memory is handled by eMMC,( embedded MultiMediaCard storage), at 64 gigabytes. The downside for me is the speed at which the commands are executed. When launching a webpage there is almost a five count for the page to load. When having more than one page open on Edge, the secondary page never loads or takes an extraordinary amount of time to load. Pages that do load seem to freeze and say “ Page is not responding, do you want to wait or close”. At first, I thought it may be because I signed into my MS account and One Drive was enabled. So I reset the HP back to factory and signed into my MS account without One Drive and the behavior was the same. I checked to make sure all of the Windows updates had been complete. What I found was there were apps running in the background from HP and other bloatware. Once I went into the Apps Start up Mgr. and shut off all the apps from starting when the HP was turned on, the speed was better, but not great. When you look at task Mgr, the CPU is constantly at 100%. For my needs this is a pass. It is just too slow to do basic computing or internet surfing.

Great Slick modern Microsoft budget PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been a while since I have owned an HP PC. Let's get through setup... Setup was super easy. Charged it up. Fired it up and went through the step by step process. Windows updates took a bit. But nothing out of the ordinary. Comes with MS Office for 1 year free. Nice. Just gotta remember to either cancel or get a othe license cheaper elsewhere. Usability. Size is nice. Keyboard layout is nice. Not too compact to where you hit keys your don't want. Also peripheral availability is good .. USB C X1, USB A x 2, HDMI, headphone Jack, SD Card. Typical screen for budget laptop is a bit harder on the eyes. I wished companies made screens a bit better. Battery life is great. 5 straight days of about 4 hours each day and battery is still good. Internet use is good. Speed is pretty good online. Camera video calling is good. No issues. Color is nice. My wife really liked the nice clean white color. Overall. Great budget PC. If you are looking for a PC that is pocket friendly look no further here it is. Good job HP.

It does the job for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the HP 14" Laptop in the beautiful Snowflake color, and I absolutely love the aesthetic—it gives the device a sleek and stylish touch. In terms of portability, this laptop is lightweight and easy to carry, making it great for on-the-go use. However, I wish I had paid closer attention to the storage and memory specs. With only 64GB of storage and 4GB of memory, I’ve found that I quickly run out of space, even without downloading much. This has made managing files and apps a bit challenging. I may need to invest in a memory card or external storage to help with file storage and make everyday use more seamless. That said, it remains a convenient, compact option for those prioritizing portability and basic computing needs.

HP 14" Laptop - Intel Celeron Review
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP 14" Laptop - Intel Celeron - 4GB Memory - 64GB eMMC - is a budget-friendly laptop with a starting price of around $169.99 [3, 8]. It is lightweight (around 3.2lb) and has a long battery life (up to 11 hours) [2, 3, 6]. Users consider it to be easy to use, attractive, and compact [2]. Here are some key points to consider before buying this laptop: Pros: Lightweight and easy to carry around [2, 3]. Long battery life allows for all-day use [2, 3, 6]. User-friendly and easy to set up [2]. Affordable price point [2, 3, 8]. Cons: Lower performance due to the Intel Celeron processor and 4GB of RAM [2, 4, 5]. This means it may struggle with demanding tasks like video editing or gaming [2]. Lower storage capacity (64GB) may not be enough for some users, especially if they plan to store a lot of files or videos [2, 5]. Lower resolution display (1366 x 768) may not be ideal for users who need a sharp picture for tasks like photo editing [2, 5].

Good quality for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this HP on Black Friday, open box, excellent condition for $100. It has been a couple months, and I can't complain at all. I worked from home for two weeks and had no issues. I am going back to school, as well, and had a Mac for years that suddenly stopped working. I needed a quick, affordable solution, and this product gave me just that. It can be a little slow, and sometimes the mouse will stick for a few seconds, but that is to be expected for the price. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a laptop with a budget. Decent battery life, nice display, and the color is a plus, as I have always been a fan of rose gold electronics.

Great general-purpose laptop, excellent with Linux
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty average entry-level laptop - lightweight, excellent battery life. It could use more RAM and a bigger eMMC drive - but Windows 11 Mode S (for stripped-down, I'm guessing) runs fine on it. Where it really shines is if you create a recovery drive for Windows 11 and install Linux on it. I installed Linux Mint 20.3 on it, and it turned this laptop into a screaming beast! I have no idea how well it would do as a gaming laptop - probably pretty poorly - but as a general-purpose laptop running Linux, it shines. 4GB of RAM is plenty for Linux, and the eMMC drive, as well as the system bus, is pretty snappy! I wish the screen was 1920x1080, though, but for something you can take anywhere, it's a perfect laptop!

I wish it had more storage…
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP 14—dq3000dx laptop is an excellent choice for those who need to complete basic tasks. This valuable option is not made for everyone. If you need to do more than surf the web or use basic apps like email or word/notepad, I would look elsewhere. Even if you need to do basic task but are planning to do multiple things at once… I wouldn’t choose this option. You basically need to use one program for this laptop to be efficient. A good example to showcase how this system operates: I downloaded one program that I use for basic needs and connected it to my network drives. It took what felt like half a day to complete this task. Most laptops low to mid-tier could do this in the matter of minutes or seconds. Not this laptop. It does have a nice 14-inch screen that is sufficient for daily tasks along with 4gb of ram, a basic Intel Celeron processor, and 64GM eMMC. I do not recommend eMMC hard drives but in this case it works. Everything here is to meet basic standards of Windows 11. The body is well built and so is the keyboard and trackpad. The laptop also has a built in SD card reader which you will most likely use owning this laptop. There is not much storage on the eMMC drive and it wouldn’t allow me to download a 11gb file. So having the ability to add in a SD card and it is not in the way/visible is helpful. It really should come equipped with a 128 GB hard drive. I cannot rate this laptop more than 3 stars due to the hard drive situation. While a value laptop, you should be able to download a file that’s only a few GB and not need an external solution. This is a great option; however, if you need something on the go and don’t want to worry about your primary laptop getting damaged, or again if you just have the bare minimum basic needs.

Sleek, Good Looking and Very Functional
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Chrome 14a-ne1013dx Laptop: 14" Chromebook - Intel Celeron - 4GB Memory - 64GB eMMC storage-type is certainly a workhorse that most of us can easily use. This Chromebook came to me in matte white and I find that very aesthetically pleasing. As a matter of fact, I am a 66-year-old senior and the buttons on this machine are nice and big so, using this machine and any concerns over either visual acuity or fine motor skills is simply not an issue. This Chromebook is exceedingly portable, lightweight, cost-effective, and very easy to set up and connect to the user's Wi-Fi, download apps from the Play store and set up overall. The Led screen is fine for even the light gaming one might want to do on this Chromebook laptop, as well as to do email, surf the internet, shop, etc. There are plenty of built-in ports, including USB Type A (x2), USB Type C (x1), HDMI (x1), headphone/mic, and the charger. As a matter of fact, my Samsung Android Smart telephone also easily synced to this machine. Bottom line, this works for me as any tablet would. When my husband goes to sleep, the TV goes off so that our bedroom is dark and quiet. However, if I still am not ready to go to sleep, having this larger screen versus that of my smart phone to watch a show on either Netflix, Prime, Paramount+, whatever, is easily doable and the ability to connect and Blue Toothe my headphones was seamless. In fact, Blue Toothing in general is easy and seamless. I am glad that I have this to use.

proven to be extremely durable
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this laptop for my small kids and it has exceeded all my expectations. Not only is it incredibly affordable, but it has proven to be extremely durable as well. My children tend to be quite rough with their belongings, but this laptop has withstood their daily usage without any issues. What impressed me the most about this laptop is its ability to handle everything my kids need it for, without any lag or slowdowns. They use it for their school assignments, watching videos, and playing educational games, and it never fails to deliver a smooth and efficient performance. The screen quality is impressive, providing them with clear and vibrant visuals. Additionally, this laptop is lightweight and compact, making it easy for my kids to carry it around or transport it when needed. This portability has been a great feature for our family, especially during long trips or when visiting relatives. Another aspect worth mentioning is the battery life. This laptop has a remarkable battery that can last for hours, allowing my kids to enjoy uninterrupted playtime or complete their schoolwork without any interruptions. It has also been incredibly convenient during power outages or situations where a charging outlet is not readily available. In conclusion, this laptop has been a fantastic investment for my small kids. Its affordability, durability, and excellent performance make it a perfect choice for families with young children. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive and reliable option that can withstand the demands of daily use by kids.

Good entry level laptop for the money!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good entry level laptop. Even though the ram is 4GB and the processor is a Celeron (older generation Intel), the hardware is married to Windows 11 S mode, which gives the battery a longer life between charges. Additionally, the internet download speed is quite good. Screen has good resolution, and the laptop is lightweight. Bear in mind that Windows 11 S mode restricts which apps can be installed (only apps from the Microsoft store are accessible). This increases the protection against viruses from downloaded apps. If you are looking for a laptop for basic streaming, Internet surfing and email, this laptop is a good deal, and can well serve basic needs. A good alternative to Chromebook, as well. A word of caution: Stay away from the temptation to switch out of S mode, as this may prevent you from being able to install additional apps as the storage is 64GB eMMC. It may slow the laptop down, as well. Otherwise, it is a good product!

It does the job!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop when I started my online masters program in June. For the price, I think it does the job. All I really use it for is homework so, of course, I use the browser (Microsoft Edge is much faster than Google Chrome), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. It's definitely slow when it comes to opening something but once you're in whatever app (the browser, Word, PP, etc), it's fine. It is also pretty lightweight and you can tell that its a cheap computer, but worth it if you can't afford or don't need to invest in a decent one.

Ultimately not enough memory for my needs.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.recently purchased the HP 14" Laptop with an Intel Celeron processor and 4GB of memory. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this product, and one major drawback for me is the insufficient amount of memory. The laptop itself has a decent size and is compact enough for easy portability. The Intel Celeron processor provides adequate performance for everyday tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and multimedia consumption. Additionally, the 14" display offers a clear and vibrant viewing experience. However, the limited 4GB of memory is a significant downside. As a purchaser, I require a laptop that can handle multitasking and run multiple applications simultaneously without lag or slowdowns. Unfortunately, with only 4GB of memory, this laptop falls short in meeting my requirements. It struggles to handle resource-intensive tasks or run software that demands more memory, resulting in frustrating delays and decreased productivity. Furthermore, the laptop lacks sufficient storage space for my needs. With limited memory, I expected that the device would compensate with a more generous storage capacity. However, this was not the case, and I found myself running out of storage quickly, even with minimal files and applications installed. On the positive side, the laptop does provide a reliable battery life, allowing me to work or browse the web for a few hours without needing to constantly plug it in. It also offers a variety of connectivity options, including USB ports and an HDMI output, which is convenient for connecting external devices or displaying content on larger screens. In summary, while the HP 14" Laptop with an Intel Celeron processor has some commendable features, such as its portability and display quality, the insufficient 4GB of memory and limited storage space are significant drawbacks. As a purchaser, I would recommend considering alternative options that offer more memory and storage capacity, particularly for those who require a laptop for multitasking and resource-demanding tasks.

Small And Decent
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My boyfriend just bought this, since it was on sale. I didn’t think much of it, BUT this little laptop has a good processing speed. He bought it for his job, where he submits photos, does report reviews and make appointments . He is able to multi task on it . I would say up to 6 tabs before it starts processing a little slower, such as loads longer for documents or pages to load. It’s lightweight and a good size to fit in any tote/backpack . He carries it with him and the battery lasts a while. I would say this is a good purchase for anyone who needs it for basic needs, even to watch YouTube , movies or just browsing on the internet.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mainly to check my emails and watch online tutorials while I'm travelling. It's not a gaming laptop by any means, but it's nice enough for its intended purpose.
