This is replacing both my Keychron K3 v2 (brown switch) and my original MX Keyboard. I liked that Keychron required no software, however the battery life was only 2 days and Bluetooth was a hit and miss. I kept going back to my original MX Keyboard which I have nothing bad to say for that item. Now on to the MX Mechanical (Clicky). The battery life on this is amazing! It’s just like the MX Keyboard if not better. The Clicky\Blue is the loudest of the three; and trust me, you wouldn’t want this one in a quiet office environment. But I have this at home, so the noise doesn’t bother me at all. Personally, I just love the feel of blue switches over the reds. Browns indeed is a happy medium between the two and would have opted for that if I cared about noise and\or was in an office environment. The build quality of the frame is top notch. There I no flex to it. Backlit is very useable (though when lit, the numbers\letters\characters looked sharper on the original MX Keys – this may be due to the keys being further away from the LED on the Mechanical though) The key themselves are quite nice, though for whatever reason the original MX Keyboard has a more premium feel as you type. This is probably due to the slight wobble that slim mechanical keys usually have as I’ll describe below The only negative I can think of is that the keys are just a tad bit wobbly due to the small size of the actual switches and low profile keys (my Keychron K3 is also as slim, but has brown switches that covered the whole area making the keys firm in place). Also, it’s a finger print magnet, like my MX Master 2s mouse, MX Keyboard, and an old Logitech G keyboard I had, I’m sure these keys will shine over time. I just hope Logitech makes replaceable keys in the future (if they are not already available) While this doesn’t matter\affect the product any, my local stores only had Brown switch and those come in colored boxes (YouTube unboxing videos shows colored boxes as well). So I had to order the Clicky one at Best Buy online site; my keyboard came in a generic cardboard Logitech box, which I usually see these types of boxes used with “refurbished” items; but don’t worry, rest assured that it’s a new product. FYI – I still have the old MX Master 2s mouse and I need to use both Unify and Bolt receiver (Good news is that only one Logi-Software is needed to make adjustments for both devices). The Unify receiver will not work with Bolt devices and Bolt receiver will not work with Unify devices. I wish Best Buy would carry the graphite MX Master 3s mouse (they only have black and white) to take advantage of reward points and $15 bundle saving the sometimes have. Only Amazon or Logitech website carries the matching MX Master 3s Graphite color.

      Hello StarvMarv,
I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the MX Keys. It is indeed a pleasant keyboard to work with, especially if you have to type for longer times than the average user. So I got the “clicky” switch. I had been hesitant to go with this switch for this keyboard because I was worried it would be too loud, but it’s not loud at all and VERY satisfying to click. I type more because of this keyboard makes typing enjoyable. It connects to all 3 of my Devices and switches between them seamlessly. I would have gotten the mini instead but the full aize has a dedicated screen brightness button and it’s so convenient that im never going back. Having the number pad is a cool bonus. Just with it came in white like the mini now does.

I'm so glad I switched to a mechanical keyboard. Compact so it takes up a minimal amount of space. I don't miss the cable. Wireless is freedom. Keys are quiet. Best keyboard I've owned.

I upgraded from a Logitech MK270 combo that I used for working while traveling. I needed a new mouse and discovered the MX Anywhere, so I splurged on a matching MX Mechanical to be the total replacement. This keyboard is a good solid build, surprisingly heavy when I picked it up. The keys have a great tactile feel. Many other keyboards, even the mechanical, have a mushy feel for me. I am a fan of the Unicomp buckling spring keyboards, which I still use. The MX Mechanical makes a great companion keyboard for travel. I especially like the easy setup with the online Web Connect; I never liked installing software just to link the receiver to a different device. With Bluetooth and Logi Bolt receiver connection options, I can use it with my iPad and my work computer. This gives me a second option with my Magic Keyboard. My first MX had a sticky Backspace key, but Best Buy made return and replacement super convenient. The second keyboard (I type this with) is perfect.

Pros: Full-sized keyboard layout but still relatively compact Comfortable typing experience Illuminated characters on keys Has power indicator that will turn red when battery gets to 10% Classy, office-friendly style Has options for USB cable, wireless USB dongle, and Bluetooth Can pair with up to three devices using different connections Clicky keys have a satisfying click sound, but they’re not overbearing Useful software (key configurations, firmware updates) Cons: Software can cause Windows to hang during shutdown Illumination only works during certain lighting situations and cannot be turned on at all times

The professional version of my favorite keyboard

I bought this keyboard to work in my office because it’s closely related to my favorite keyboard of all time; the Logitech G815 Clicky. Despite technically having different switches, the clicky key switches are very similar to the ones on the G815 and are incredibly satisfying to press. The low profile keys are higer than what you would get on a premium laptop, but very reminiscent. I prefer the lower profile keys, as they allow for less wrist strain than full height keys. The battery lasts a very long time, and the backlights on the keys are clear and adjust to the ambient light. The light colored print on the keys make the backight unnecessary in bright light, saving battery. The special function keys are reprogrammable, but the default functions are all useful. You can pair the keyboard to three different bluetooth or Logi Bolt adapters. If you have a mouse that can use Logitech Flow, such as the MX Master 2 and above, the keyboard can follow the mouse across computers. Perfect for multi monitor setups with more than one computer, such as a personal and work device, or an editing bay.

This keyboard feels great to use. I enjoy using the the clicky type keyboards from logitech and this one is as great as the others I’ve used. Key strokes are smooth and have the right aamount of “click”. The keyboard itself is light weight so if you have to move it quite often like i did, you wouldn’t even notice. Pairs to any computer or laptop easily. Smartphones are just a few to pair, and they make it quite simple to do that as well. The keyboard keys are also really eqsy to. lean if that matters to you, like it did to me. Since i work with a lot of oils and chemicals I was worried it would get dirty.

Very nice keyboard, nice tactical response, and a slightly quieter clicky clack. Easy to type on and great back lighting options. The Logitech Options+ software seems to work well also. Good options to choose from. I had the MX3 keyboard before and it was a great keyboard but the new mechanical one is well worth it if you like the mechanical feel.

I was making excessive typos on the modern keyboards and longed for the old 'clicky' feel. To my delight Logitech is offering the MX series with 3 key feels, tactical, clicky and liniar. i chose the 'clicky' over the tactical and my typing has improved. The keys are back lit and can be set to turn on when yo are keyboarding. The MX is portable and will interface with up to 3 computers. There are several special function keys and the programmable keys are application specific. I would recommend this key board to a friend.

Build quality is great. Love the look and feel. Only reason this isn't a 5 star review, and this is niche, but this kb doesn't have a print screen and post break key. You have to configure those with software, which is fine except for the fact I bought this for my work laptop and am not able to DL the Logitech software to configure them. If you are using this for personal non-gaming purposes and don't need those keys then I would recommend.

    The Perfect Keyboard

I've tried both the Clicky and Tactile version of this keyboard. Functionality-wise, they are the same, obviously, but the typing experience is very different. Personally, I really loved the feel of the switches on the Clicky version, but the sound it made it feel less premium. It's a very high pitched click sound that most people expect from blue switches, but it assaulted my eardrums when typing really fast. Typing just a few keys is VERY satisfying, though. The Tactile version has barely any "clickiness" to the switches, but the muted clickety-clack sound was very soothing and felt more "professional". Even though there are barely any clickiness to the keys, it felt very mechanical regardless, especially if you type hard and let the keys hit the bottom board. Still, this keyboard is what I would call the perfect keyboad in all aspects (build quality, design, color, battery life, wireless connection speed/stability/options, multi-device pairing, etc.), and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. The switches are entirely up to personal preference.
