Roborock S7MaxV Is The BEST Robot Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Until there is a new “top dog” in the robot vacuum space, this Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is IT, the one to beat. I am a longtime fan and follower of Roborock products, with over a year of hands-on and in depth experience with other Roborock products leading to the S7MaxV Ultra. It hasn’t taken long to see that their engineers have learned from other makers’ efforts and innovated to create what others only can hope to achieve. What won’t it or can’t it do? It cannot go up or down a step, such as to a room that is one step up or down. It cannot vacuum baseboards or anything else that is above the floor level. It cannot nor should it be sent out to clean anything except bare floors or rugs/carpets that have any pile other than the lowest of the low. That’s not what this or any robot vacuum is designed to do. Its round shape makes it impossible to clean into corners. Finally, it cannot move furniture out of the way. That’s a pretty short can’t do list! What it CAN do is unlike any other of which I am aware or that I have experienced. **WHAT’S IN THE BOX** • Roborock S7MaxV with Auto Empty dock, some assembly required without tools • Self-washable floor cleaning pad • Replaceable dust bag for Dock **THE SETUP** Follow assembly directions. Download and install the Roborock smart phone app for iOS or Android. Create an account. Assemble the dock. Fill the clean water bin with water. I recommend distilled water to prevent mineralized water from leaving deposits. Place the S7MaxV Ultra on its charging perch to charge the battery before its first cleaning mission. The app is extensive, with numerous twists and turns. Find 2D, 3D and Matrix mapping information and decide what is best for you. One particularly useful setting in Object Avoidance. Here, the S7MaxV can be set to not get too close to an upcoming object or a wall, OR it can be set to use a gentle touch to determine that it has gone far enough. The latter is my preference. I want “her” to clean as much of the surface as possible so there is less follow-up cleaning to do. Time and space constraints prevent a comprehensive write-up here. Buyers are urged to dive deep into the app and all settings to become educated and expert with the software. This is not a simple set and forget product. Those who fail heed this advice are, I am afraid, destined to be less than satisfied with this product. On the other hand, expert users who are also tech geeks will come to appreciate the S7MaxV Ultra like nothing imaginable. And now it’s time to . . . **PUT IT TO THE TEST** ONLY because of my previous extensive Roborock product experience can I send her out on her appointed cleaning rounds. Expectations are reasonable. Everything that can be removed is moved from the floor, providing the most obstacle-free cleaning path possible. With all of this in mind, the S7MaxV Ultra did not disappoint for a moment. I set this Roborock to make three washing passes along with vacuuming. The VibraRise mop automatically raises when carpeting or a rug is encountered. NOTE - this and all robot vacuums should only be used on bare floors or on very low pile rugs and carpets. When she sensed the need, she docks mid cycle to wash the mop, dirty water into its tank, then filling the on-board tank with clean water. Then, out to resume cleaning where she left off. On my wish list is the ability to sense a full dust bin is full and auto-empty mid-cycle. An over-full dust bin can and will cause a clog in the emptying path. Trial and error! I hope my request for a fix will come in a future firmware update. Be mindful of the dust bin’s emptying path through the dock and its frequency. Only after the complete cleaning cycle has concluded and on the final docking will she empty the dust bin. Lift the lid, remove the dust bin and inspect for fullness before docking, but after cleaning. Users will learn of preemptive bin and filter care and prevent the learning curve that I went through, a clogged dust bin and clogged path to the bag in the dock. Feel free to manually empty the bin at any point during cleaning routines. I disagree that this is hands-free for up to seven weeks. The dirty water will become rather ripe. Users are advised to get to know their own inspection and dirty water tank cleaning cycle needs. Mine was, shall we say, a bit nasty. It is easy to empty and wash out, and easy to add clean water as needed. In addition, after each automatic cleaning cycle, inspect the underside of the robot and remove debris that can and will clog and impede the side brush motion. Remove the main brush to clear debris that will accumulate underneath it. Self-cleaning is not perfect cleaning, so users are urged to know the extent to which interventional cleaning will be needed. Full or partial cleaning cycles may be set. The user is in charge. Similarly, this Roborock can be sent out for to clean just room, a defined area or full cleaning, or, using the app’s remote control, spot cleaning can be accomplished. Have fun with the camera! Say hi to the family, visiting friends and the critters, from ANYWHERE in the world. **CONCLUSION** WOW! What a robot! What haven’t the Roborock engineers thought of? Very little, to be sure. This is as close to perfection as this reviewer has experienced. Therefore, while it is not perfect, it is perfection-adjacent and highly recommended SO LONG AS IT MEETS the user’s needs and so long as realistic expectations are understood. **WARRANTY** One year manufacturer’s parts & labor warranty

Complete solution for floor cleaning!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our 4th Robo cleaner between vacuums and floor mops and it is by far the most mature and complete solution we have used to date. Conclusion: This is a fast, easy to maintain, easy to schedule patterns, can mop with soap, vacuum floors and can adapt and clean in an efficient way for years to come without needing to adjust anything. I definitely recommend this solution. Design: this robo vacuum and mop combo is well designed, and can blend in with any décor if its exposed. the base is the charger and the cleaning station and has a 2 water tanks for clean and dirty water and one tank that houses the exchangeable dirt bag that results from vacuuming. the base does take some real estate though! its about a foot and half deep and about a foot high and almost a foot wide. if you have a smaller room or apartment this might not be a great solution for you. Setup: take out of the box, find a place to put the station in, take all stickers off the base and the robo vacuum, fill the clean water tank, attach the exchangeable dirt bag, download the roborock app, connect to your roborock cleaner, update the firmware if needed and you are good to go. App ease of use: the app for RoboRock is the most stable, fast and responsive app I have used on a robo vacuum to date. the features are great from setting zones, to remembering rooms to scanning and setting virual no go zones. the ability to set multiple schedules for different rooms and the ability to see whats happening in real time. the app is stable and very good. Water tank capacity: the water tank is enough to do a deep clean for almost 1000 square feet of hardwood. which is plenty and all you have to do is add clean water to the clean water tank and flush the dirty water from the dirty water tank. the tanks are easily detachable like lifting a small bucket off the floor. Mapping: since the robo vac has cameras and sensors and a fast processor. it did map the room in the first clean which took a little bit longer, but changed course in the second cleaning and used the most efficient and fast route to clean the room after the mapping was done. the vac also automatically tags obstacles and names them based on shape (thanks to AI I think). cleaning: this is where the vacc shines. we have 3 cats and a teenager who leaves more crumbs behind him than a cat sheds hair! the cleaning is very very good and the hard floors are always shiny after the cleaning and we are very happy with it. cleaning the vacc itself: the vacc cleans itself! and cleans the mop between floor cleaning cycles and you don't need to do any dirty work! this alone gives this mop 5 stars. operation on hardwood/ rug/ carpet mix: We have hardwood and carpet across the house and this roborock can recognize that and raise or lift the mop when it detects a rug to avoid any unnecessary resistance. we love this Robo Vacuum/ mop combo and look forward to using it for years to come.

Almost perfect automated cleaning
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros Mapping is quick and precise Doesn’t hit furniture and walls Recognizes most obstacles and avoids them Able to traverse higher room thresholds Low profile gets under most furniture Very little hair tangling Can vacuum and mop all at once Relatively quiet Speaks out when it has a problem Camera doubles as a security camera Dock empties and cleans automatically Local AI processing Can still do main functions without WIFI Cons Dock is very large Camera can be a privacy concern for some Doesn’t have a way to save spot cleaning zones Doesn’t support room cleaning order yet Still sometimes gets tangled on cords LIDAR thinks furniture skirts are walls Design and Features The basic design is a standard disc shaped robotic vacuum with the cleaning roller in the middle between the wheels. This makes the cleaning path smaller than the D shaped robotic vacuums and leaves a much larger gap on side which the spinning side brush attempts to handle. The mopping pad is on the back section and is the entire width of the vacuum allowing it to mop large sections without a problem. The top hinges open allowing access to the dust bin while the water tank is accessible from the back. The top has the LIDAR scanner which maps the room approximately 4 inches off the ground while the front has the structured light scanner, camera, and LED light to allow the camera to see in the dark and still perform AI detection. The cleaning base is very large but not as tall as others. You will need to find a large space in your house to place it, but thankfully it only needs about a foot and a half of clearance on the sides to work. In testing it worked fine in a space of 32 inches wide by 20 inches deep even though that is far less than the recommendation. There are separate tanks for dirty water, clean water, and the vacuum bag. While the vacuum section is not removable, the two water tanks are making it easy to bring to a sink for emptying and refilling. Setup and Performance Setup is straightforward. You just create your account via the app and connect the robot to your Wi-Fi. It will prompt to update if needed and then you can have it perform a mapping run. It takes about 45 minutes to map the entire house and then you can name your rooms. It does detect floor types, but you can also define them yourself in the app. It will automatically suggest room dividers, but they are adjustable. You can define no go zones, zones for only mopping, and zones for only vacuuming. You can also place furniture in the rooms to help better visualize the layout. Zones can be defined for cleaning but each time you browse to the zones section it automatically adds a new one. You also can’t tell it to vacuum a zone by voice or via schedule. Zone cleaning can only be done manually. Hopefully they will update to allow zone cleaning on schedule so you can have small, high traffic areas cleaned more frequently without cleaning a whole room. You can clean the whole house or a specific room by voice. Scheduling can clean the whole house or several rooms. The latest update says the option to choose room cleaning order has been added by so far it is not visible in the app. The floor plan can be viewed in 2D with each room being a different color, as a grayscale 3D map, or in what is called matrix which is like an AR version that only works on newer iPhones with a Lidar scanner. While 3D and Matrix are nice and help you better visualize what the vacuum sees, the most useful is the standard 2D map. Cleaning starts with the vacuuming announcing what is going to do. It will announce “starting selective cleaning” or “starting room cleaning” followed by “going to wash the mop” each time before it starts to work. It can be helpful to hear as you can verify what it is going to do. While there isn’t a specific setting to turn this off you can turn the volume down if you have a consistent fixed schedule. Strangely while the voice feedback for what it is doing is specific, problems are sometimes spoken as error codes. For example, when there is a problem with the dirty water bin or the clean water bin it has just said error code 39 instead of, please refill water or please empty dirty water. It would be nice to see Roborock further refine these error messages to be more descriptive in the future. Cleaning has been very good, but the full effect takes several runs. You can start by setting the vacuum to maximum suction and the mop to intense cleaning as well as set it to do 4 passes to speed up the process. After a few runs all but the most stubborn stains are cleaned off hard floors. On low and medium ply carpets it does a good job cleaning but doesn’t clean deep enough to create distinct cleaning lines. Also, because of the inset roller, the carpet isn’t cleaned as thoroughly up to about 3 inches from the wall so for those with pets you might need to occasionally do a manual touch up vacuuming against the walls. While the documentation says it can switch between mopping and vacuuming only on low pile carpet, it has done well on medium pile carpet and barely adds any moisture to it. When verified with an infrared camera the mop does touch medium pile carpet when lifted, but the amount of moisture it adds is already evaporated by the time it is starting the next row. The bonus of running a vacuum and mopping run in one is that on hard floors it vacuums up debris and them immediately mops leaving no chance for new grime to collect before mopping. This reduces the likelihood of leftover dirt and loose material from scratching the floor during mopping. The result is a clean, grit free floor with little to no streaks. One area that could be improved is, somewhat oddly, sensors. No sensors are included for dirt, full bin, or empty water tank. It would be nice to see future versions include a dirt sensor to know if more cleaning is needed in a certain area as well as a dust bin full sensor or water tank empty sensor. As it stands now, the S7 empties the dust bin and refills the water on a set schedule instead of as needed. It would also be nice to see an update to the charging logic to shorten cleaning times. In use, it cleans all but two rooms of the house on one charge. Then it returns to the dock to charge for several hours until the battery is fully charged only to clean for 20 minutes. Instead, since it knows how many square feet are left it would be great if it could charge enough to clean that remaining area and then finish the job. Surprisingly even though Roborock makes no claims of handling hair without tangling it has done an excellent job of keeping the roller clean with two dogs and two long hair family members. The only area that does collect hair is on the main shaft of the roller but so far it hasn’t caused damage to the roller whereas this has happened on vacuums made specifically to handle hair. Noise has been good with guest stating the vacuum is quieter than they would have thought, possibly this is because it doesn’t speed up the vacuum until it is on carpet which tends to muffle the sound more. You could watch a show or hold a conversation in the same room with it albeit at increased volume. It does also list a quiet setting, but no one could notice a significant difference in volume between modes. Probably the most important question for the S7 MaxV is how good the new AI is. The short answer is, nearly flawless. The LIDAR navigation means it knows exactly how close to get to furniture without touching or bumping, with the minor caveat being that bed or couch skirts are seen as walls. Combine that with the structured light camera, visual camera, and LED light and the AI recognizes most things even in the dark correctly and avoids as needed. You can also set it to save pictures of obstacles in the onboard storage so that you could inspect them later to see if it correctly identified them as well as instruct it to not classify an object as an obstacle in the future. Most of the time this works very well. If you are concerned about privacy, the AI doesn’t seem to send anything to the cloud as it worked just as well without an internet connection. You just can’t control it via your phone or voice assistant without internet. It was able to identify couches correctly as well as shoes and power strips. It even saw the dogs walking around and would pause so as not to get in the way. If the dog moved fast enough it would continue, otherwise it would check back later to see if the area is clear to clean. The one area that could still use improvement is recognizing cords lying flat on the floor or pieces of paper. On more than one occasion it would fail to recognize a charging cord and would snag on it and drag it around the room. It also sometimes sucks up small pieces of paper which have become lodged in the rollers. Still much better than average but still has room for further improvement. The camera can also be used for remote viewing if you like. By default, this feature is disabled and can only be enabled locally by holding down the buttons on the vacuum. After enabled it can be used remotely without pressing the buttons again. Audio and video quality is good, but reliability is hit or miss even when at home or on a good internet connection. The base has been excellent at both emptying the dust bin and cleaning the mop. It empties the dust bin through the roller. This seems have the benefit of cleaning the roller. After over a week of daily cleaning the mopping pad is also fairy clean with minimal stains, however the water used to clean the mop sits in the base and develops a smell. Cleaning the mop cleaning area helped. Final Thoughts The S7 MaxV Ultra is the closest yet to fully automated floor cleaning. It only needs very occasional attention with some periodic maintenance. If you have been wanting a robotic floor cleaner that takes most of the work off your hands without much fuss, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is hard to beat right now.

Roborock leads in innovation & customer support!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Roborock at the time of purchase in 2023 was the only robot vacuum that integrated a functioning mop in addition to being able to empty dirty water and refill with clean water. It was actually the first all in one robot vacuum being offered at this time. For a home with all wooden floors this is a great product! My mom actually complimented my purchase saying this was actually a great investment, compared to other expensive purchases like air purifiers. It’s funny how other companies soon started following suit building 3 in 1 or 2 in 1 functional robot vacuums! Also yesterday (3/30/25) I contacted Roborock customer service on a purchase I did 3 weeks prior, I messaged support explaining to them that I had accidentally purchased the wrong dust bags. The very same day I receive a refund for wrong dust bag and message saying no return is necessary of wrong item and link to purchase correct ones! Definitely saved me the trip and time! Point is there support team is more than willing to help and satisfy their customers with maximum support! I am truly a Roborock fan and hope to see the company succeed!

The Cadillac of Robot Vacs; Steep Learning Curve
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roborock S7MaxV is without a doubt the most advanced robot vacuum that I have had in my house. It lives up to its Ultra moniker by providing options that you don’t see on many robot vacuums, although it does cost a premium price. The Roborock S7MaxV is my fourth robot vacuum. I have two other vacuums in my house right now, one for the master bedroom, one for the rest of the upstairs, and now the Roborock downstairs. The Roborock cost more than the other two vacuums put together, which is something that has to be factored in when one is considering cost to value. For me, my downstairs is almost 1800 square feet of exclusively hardwood flooring, and the ability to have a robot vacuum that also mops when told to do so is A+. The Roborock comes in a huge box because it is unlike any robot vacuum you’ve owned. The charging base, which holds a dustbin (auto empty), a water reservoir for cleaning the mop and filling the wet side of the vacuum, and a waste water bin to collect the dirty water that is used to clean the mop mounted on the underside of the Roborock. Be prepared to supply some real estate to the charging base/dock, because it will take up a few square feet of room. Getting the Roborock ready to rock and roll (get it?) was relatively easy. Pull everything out, read the instructions, remove the tape from a few different spots, download and install the app on the iPhone, and sign up for an account, and it was time to connect the Roborock to the network. Keep in mind you will need a 2.4 GHz network for the connection. The Roborock will not connect to a 5 GHz network, which I discovered after ignoring the message that it needed a 2.4 GHz network. After I figured that out, connection to the network was quick and easy. There was an update that needed to be done and then I was instructed to allow the Roborock to explore my downstairs. I picked up anything that shouldn’t be on the floor and sent it on its way. I didn’t realize I had selected vacuum and mop while exploring, which meant the Roborock immediate started to vacuum and mop as it moved through the downstairs making up a map. I must say it did a fantastic job. Not only was my floor cleaned extremely well by vacuum and mopping, the map was extremely detailed and spot on when the Roborock finished. I did have a couple of hiccups. The initial pass, the Roborock seemed to confuse itself and just sat in the same area spinning around and around. After five minutes of this, I sent it home and then sent it cleaning again. It was good for the rest of the first pass, but when I used it again a day later, it did the exactly same thing in a different spot. Not sure what was happening. I picked it up and put it somewhere else, and it seemed fine after that. Weird… I feel like if there is any weakness to the Roborock it is the learning curve that comes with it. The manual is not the easiest to work through, the app can be very confusing with all its options, and due to the extras that the Roborock has, it can be a little intimidating to maintain and use. My other two robot vacuums are very much easier to maintain and clean, but they don’t clean to the amazing extent the Roborock does. It’s mopping function saves me from having to break out the Swifter after every vacuum, which is absolutely awesome. To me, the Roborock S7MaxV is like a fully loaded car, with all the bells and whistles. Some of those bells and whistles you might never use, but it’s really cool to have them. It even has a spotlight that comes on when it gets into areas that are dark! Other robot vacuums are like the base models, few added bells and whistles, but less to go wrong and cheaper. Which one is best? For me, the Roborock is the pinnacle of robot vacuum collection. It is the Cadillac that keeps my downstairs clean, regardless of three kids and a cat. Those other vacuums? Meh, they’re upstairs, out of sight, holding down the fort. Bottom line is, if you have a large floor plan, the Roborock has it covered. Have carpet and hard floors? No problem, the Roborock has them covered. Want to mop some spots but not others? No worries, the Roborock can do that. It can do anything you need it to do besides climb stairs, but even then you can store additional floors in the maps section and take it upstairs and tell it to do its thing and its cool with it. If you have the dough, don’t hesitate to get the best robot vacuum out there right now, the Roborock S7MaxV.

Defective dirty water draining out of the box
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First use after the product arrived yesterday, the water from mop washing won't drain into the dirty water tank at all. Like a defective water pump issue. Mop cleaning produces "Error 44 filter blocked". Followed steps from support posted by other users with the same problem on Reddit. The troubleshooting steps don't fix the problem. I'm not the only one. I've quadruple checked and certain a defect. Waiting to hear back from Roborock support on a replacement dock. If that support doesn't go well, will just request refund from Best Buy and send it back since it arrived defective. Will update this review as resolution progresses. Other than this fatal defect, the quick mapping, vacuuming and mopping on our 1000 sq ft of wood floors all went well. (Of course we only got a couple of rooms done prior to the mop cleaning triggering the failure.)

As if I designed it myself!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a roomba ten years ago and then updated to the 980 six years ago. Roomba was ok, always left me feeling like it could be better. Hated Vslam with a passion. Somehow Roborock entered my search this year and I was so curious, I waited until this s7maxv ultra was available again and pulled the trigger. Also mops, and raises mop, and self cleans, and camera with ai, and led light for dark spots and sophisticated app and regular updates and LiDAR. YES please! I swore I wouldn’t leave review before a week, but on third day I am so impressed I have to! If roomba is Tesla, this Roborock is Nio: LiDAR, better quality, solid passion and intelligence. Quick mapping in 5 minutes without mauling furniture. Vacuumed 495 sq-ft (it shows in app) in 45 minutes. Did it 3 times before mop (per instructions). Easy fill plain water. Nice. Made it do bathroom only with 2x cycle to test. Today I added Roborock cleaning fluid (1 cap for 3 liter water tank) and left for errands. Came back, everything vacuumed, mopped with mop-wash between rooms, intense setting, and it smelt slightly of lemon scent. Faux hard wood feels clean in kitchen as do bathroom tiles. Empty dirty water was super easy. Turn over Roborock and clean out hair from spin wheel, pop out rubber roller and side plugs, pull out long hair. Easy, everything feels premium. Literally pops out of the box when installed. App install and pairing was mindless (2.5g Wi-Fi). Add to Alexa was mindless. I don’t have to put cushions in front of delicate furniture. I’m not paranoid about leaving an item on the floor. Bathroom door was half ajar by mistake and it didn’t trap itself. This robo-vac is designed by people who clearly understand human beings and love to innovate! The stand and buckets feel premium plastic, soooo much nicer than aluminum. I have a lot of furniture that I moved between cleans, no issues. I have fatigue mats in kitchen, after clearing obstacle warning (with pics) in app, and clearing wrong carpet classification, no problems it climbs up and cleans all. I have low pile carpets and two medium pile rugs. No problem. With future firmware and app updates it will only get better. Apparently the Chinese version (g10) also has self-empty dustbin option and mop drying heater option which I hope will become available here soon. If you have long pile carpets then eww gross what is wrong with you can’t imagine creepy crawlies living in there, just tear them out and install hygienic low pile or wood floor and get this bot. If you got a faulty unit then get it replaced, this thing is awesome!

Great Performance After Rocky Start
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roborock S7 MaxV is supposed to be the pinnacle of robot vacuums currently on the market with an all in one approach. This robot vacuums, mops, self-empties, self-cleans the mop pad, etc. so what else can’t it do? Well, I have to admit when it works properly it works extremely well but unfortunately I am on my second unit because the first one was defective straight out of the box. I’ll dive into the details later. In The Box: - Robot - Docking Station w/ Long Cord - Extra Vacuum Bag (One Pre-installed) - Manuals Setup: Out of the box, it takes about 10 minutes to get the robot and dock setup. It’s a very simple process. The dock is large so make sure you have a place in mind before you purchase this setup otherwise you might be left scrambling. Once you place the robot on the dock it should start charging and you can then pair it to the Roborock app. Once this is complete you have access to a TON of settings to customize the cleaning experience, adjust the map, and make this robot work for you. Usage: The robot will first do a fairly detailed mapping session on its first cleaning cycle so don’t expect it to do everything on its first run. It took about 1 hour to map a 1,500 square foot area of the house. The app with automatically trying detecting the “rooms” inside this area. Given, I have had two different robots so its done this process twice it detected different rooms each time but you can adjust this yourself inside the app after a few runs. It will continue to map the layout after a few runs and eventually it will get to the point of knowing where everything is. You can manually add barriers, objects, and zones to customize the cleaning experience for you. Of this roughly 1,500 square feet, about 60% of it is tile and the rest is carpet. During a full clean including mopping and vacuuming, the robot will pre-wet the pad on the dock assuming the clean water take is full. Once the pad is wet, it will begin scrubbing the floor. Once it encounters a carpet section, the pad will lift and the vacuum will run. Then once back on hard floor, the mop will drop down and start scrubbing again. This is truly very neat to see because it works very well overall. You can set vacuum and scrub intensity inside the app separately. After so long as mopping the robot will return to the dock, clean the pad, and return to its cleaning cycling. In my typical cleaning cycle it will return to clean the pad twice which adds a few minutes but it’s nice to know the pad is cleaner than it would be if not cleaned during the cycle. After a complete cycle, the robot will clean the pad, dry it if you want, and then self-empty the vacuums dustbin into the bag on the dock. This is done all by itself! It is loud when it self-empties but good thing you can set when it empties and when it doesn’t. Overall functionality is great and it does a great job avoiding obstacles and cleaning the floors. When it comes to the water tanks, I believe you should be able to go at least 5 cleaning cycles before even having to worry about checking them. The vacuum bag should be able to go for a long while assuming your house is fairly clean and pet free. If you have several pets, it will obviously fill up quicker. This vacuum is truly hassle free as long as it works properly. Defective First Robot: I feel like I need to disclose the problems of the first robot to be fully transparent. The customer service was actually better than average. After troubleshooting the issue (Which took a couple days) I had a label emailed, the robot was sent back, and a new unit was sent out later the same day it was received! Anyways, the issue I experience appeared to be battery related as the robot would constantly back off the dock by itself and send charging errors through the app. The charging speed of the battery and how quickly it died was also an indication the battery inside was not healthy. The symptoms occurred within 3 hours of placing the first robot on the docking station. Several times a day it would back off the dock and sit about 2 feet in front of it. Sometimes it would end up about 4 feet away rotated at a odd angle like it started a cleaning cycle and just stopped in the middle of the floor. If you want to simulate this, you could unplug the dock from the wall, wait about 10 seconds, and the robot should back off the dock by itself. This is what my first unit did several time a day. I have had the second robot for over 48 hours so far and it has yet to show ANY symptoms of the first one. Fingers crossed this one works as designed because it functions really well. Pros: - Excellent Mapping/Navigation - Doesn’t contact most furniture/walls - Very little hair tangle on brush - Mop and Vacuum Combo - Mopping function quiet - Can provide on demand camera/video call function via app - Self-empting Cons: - Dock is large - Vacuum function can be loud on higher suction - Can get stuck under furniture at “perfect” height to fit under - LIDAR interprets soft objects as a barrier (Curtains) - Thresholds of a certain height cause issues for climbing (Especially hard surface to carpet) - Robot emptying into dock is loud (Sounds like regular upright vacuum) Overall: This is by far the most feature packed and advanced robot vacuum I have used. It makes it stand out from the crowd for sure but it also has a price tag to go with it. I really have enjoyed using the second unit thus far I was just disappointed when I had to use the warranty straight out of the box. I am hopeful that that is in the past and I am on to continually clean floors for years to come!

Feature I never knew I needed, Amazing!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I begin the actual review, a few words about me. I’m a middle age single man, living alone (unless the cat counts). I stay busy with work, hobbies I am passionate about like pickleball and live music, and have an active social life; and as a result, vacuuming and mopping have always been low on my priority list. I have a BobSweep automatic vacuum, but I’ve never felt it did a very good job and it’s gotten sparse use the last few months. The path it takes is just too random, it gets stuck too often, and doesn’t have a great amount of suction. But then the RoboRock S7 MaxV entered my life and wow! What a difference! Let the formal review begin. After unpacking the device, I filled the water tank (just tap water, no chemicals needed), downloaded the app, did the initial registration through the app, and turned it on. The first thing it wants to do is map your house, so I got everything off the floors, opened the doors, and let it scan. It doesn’t clean during this time, but simply runs around the perimeter of your home, using it’s built in radar to map the entire home, entering each room to figure out where everything is, what the floor type(s) are, and then returns to the base to fully charge itself. All the while, it talks to you, explaining what it’s doing: Cleaning the mop, returning to base, cleaning, etc. The cleaning functionality is truly amazing and in so many different ways. It knows if it’s on carpet or on a hard surface. It mops the hard surfaces and retracts the mop head when it’s vacuuming carpet. It avoids obstacles very well, although it did get hung up on my drumset’s kick drum pedal so I have to keep that up when it’s cleaning, but otherwise it’s been a champ. Besides the radar that it used in mapping the home, it also has a decent resolution color camera built in, and you can even view what it sees from the app, whether your phone is on the wifi network or even just on a 4G connection when you’re traveling far from home! It was fun demonstrating the vacuum to coworkers a few days ago, showing them the RoboRock’s eye view of my house as it cleaned. If the vacuum gets below 20% battery capacity during a cleaning cycle, it returns to the base to recharge, and can resume exactly where it left off after it’s done. I really like the functionality of app it comes with. I can create one or more schedules for it; I can have it clean the entire house or just certain rooms; I can create “invisible walls” of places I don’t want it to go, and can even take remote control and move it wherever I wish. Finally, I have to talk about the docking station, which is a high powered robot on it’s own. When the cleaner returns to the base, it empties the wastewater from mopping into the wastewater bin; refills itself with fresh water, and even evacuates the contents of the dust bin into the collector on the base! As with any product, there are things I wish were different/better. As a cat owner, the number one thing the vacuum picks up it cat hair. The dock’s bin that the cleaner empties into uses bags that fill up after just 4 passes through my home. So far, I have emptied the bag into the trash and re-used it, but that takes a bit of effort; I wish it was like my Dyson vacuum cleaner and just emptied into the plastic bin for easy dumping. But that’s my only constructive criticism. I am truly blown away by the quality of the job this does. As you can see in the photos attached to this review, it can work in challenging environments including dodging the drum set components, moving effortlessly in a room with hardwood floor and an area rug on a portion of it, and you can see the pattern in the carpet showing the consistent path it takes when vacuuming. Well done RoboRock! I would recommend this to anyone, especially those on the go for whom setting aside time for vacuuming and mopping is a challenge.

A Bit Pricey, But Best One Yet!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's just start with this, The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is easily the best robovac/mop we've ever owned. And the most expensive. It is packed with features that all pretty much live up to their promise. It both vacuums and mops very well, works around obstacles, and provides excellent mapping and programming features. The dock, while mammoth, makes it easy to clean up and maintain. Our house is a split level home with tile, wood, linoleum, and carpeted floors, with about 1300 sq ft on one level and 400 sq ft on the other. This makes it a significant challenge to robovacs. Add to that two dogs, assorted dog toys, power cords, and the usual detritus of living (backpack, purse, the odd shoe,...) and the challenge is complete. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is the first robovac (of many I've owned over the years) that I haven't had to pick up and 'prep' the house prior to running it. The onboard sensors (optical, Lidar, bump, and AI recognition) work spectacularly well at object avoidance. Programming options are extensive. The first time out the S7 MaxV maps the house. The rooms are color coded in the companion app and can be edited or split. Obstacles are photographed and available in the app for identification (or pick up). Vacuuming and mopping can be programmed by whole house (the robovac decides), room, or custom area. It seems to do a very good job of switching between mop & vacuum on rugs. However, we only want the tile in the kitchen and linoleum in the bathrooms mopped, limiting the rest of the house to vacuum only. That is easily set up after initial mapping. The mopper vibrates providing a scrubbing action and does an excellent job, best of any hybrid robovac/mop we've had. I'm a fan of docking robovacs, it makes cleanup a lot easier and makes it possible to let the unit run for a few days without cleaning every time. That said, the S7 MaxV Ultra dock is pretty big (see picture) so you need to have a place for it. It is worth it, with a clean & dirty water tank for the mop and a dust bin for the, well, dust. The dock will automagically refill the clean water in robovac. The dock also will clean the mop pad when the robot docks and empty the dirty water into the dirty water tank. The vacuum dust bin uses a bag, which makes it a little cleaner and limits the vacuum smell. In our house, the dust bin bag seemed to fill after a week of vacuuming and maybe stretch to two weeks before we throw it out and replace it. No robovac is perfect. As with ALL robovacs, corners and behind doors remain a manual vacuum chore. Until we get Rosie (for you Jetsons fans), the robovacs will all have limitations. That having been said, they are a big time saver. The navigation, automation, and AI features in the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra make it the first robovac I've had that I trust to run without supervision and pre-vacuum pickup. Battery life is excellent, the robot cleaned the entire house and returned to the dock with about half the battery left. It was also pretty fast, it seems to optimize it's cleaning pattern and eliminates the need to zig-zag over the same area several times. All told, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is expensive, but you get a lot for your money. It is probably the best and most autonomous robovac we've ever had, certainly the best mopper. I would highly recommend considering it.

Lives Up to The Hype
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This truly is THE robovac to rule them all. I've been using the Roborock S7 MaxV ultra in my 1400sqft two-story townhome almost daily for almost two weeks now. It has done an incredible job of keeping both my carpeted and tile floors clean. For the most part, the entire experience has been flawless with a couple of minor exceptions during it's first cleaning run. The Roborock S7 did get stuck once underneath one of my recliners. It also had a problem with getting back to it's dock. Again, this was only during it's first run where it was still trying to map and learn the environment. For both of those instances, the Robovac app notified me to please check on the device and free it from any obstructions. All I had to do both times was briefly pick it up off the floor and just set it back down. It automatically re-positioned itself and managed to finish it's cleaning session and return to it's dock with no issues. The Roborock S7 MaxV has incredible floor mapping and obstacle recognition which is made possible by it's LiDAR navigation. I've watched it several times easily breeze around tight corners, tv stands, coffee tables, underneath my dining table with several scattered chairs, and around fitness equipment that I have in the living room with no issues. Having both functions of a vacuum and a mop in a robovac has been a game changer. The vacuum easily has the most powerful motor out of any robovac I've ever tested (it has 5100Pa of suction which is insane for a robovac!). This robovac does a phenomenal job of auto detecting the surface it's cleaning. During it's cleaning sessions, the mop would automatically retract whenever it detected carpet. The mop head performance was also very impressive. I was honestly surprised by how well my tiled floors turned out. I became curious and researched the mop performance. Turns out the mop head vibrates 3,000 cycles per minute! I've constantly watched this robovac to see if it would mix up the surfaces and start mopping over rugs or carpeted surfaces but it has performed perfectly. It also has a strong headlight that automatically illuminates any dim or dark areas in it's environment. The charging dock truly is the star of the show here. The included 3L clean water tank, 2.5L dirty water tank, and dust bin makes it so that your cleaning experience is practically fully automated. I love the practical design of these tanks. They're basically small tubs with handles which makes it very easy to fill or pour water out. I've filled the clean water tank once and it's easily lasted over a week through multiple mopping sessions. When the robovac returns to it's base, it automatically empties it's dustbin, washes the mopping pad, and refills the clean water compartment inside the robovac. Roborock claims that the auto-dustbin emptying can go upto 7 weeks without having to change the dust bag. This robovac comes with one preinstalled 2.5L dust bag as well as an extra one inside the box. I think it's worth mentioning that Roborock recommends that you setup the docking station on a hard flat surface with clearances on either side as well as in front of the dock. For testing purposes, I placed the dock on carpet in my living room to see if the roborock S7 would have any trouble either dispatching from it's dock or returning to it's dock. Aside from it's first run, it has never had any issues leaving the dock or returning to the dock over a carpeted area. Figured this bit of information may be useful for those who may be limited on where they can place their dock. The Roborock android/ios application for this product is on another level both in terms of practical usability and features. This is one of those products where the the mobile app completely elevates the experience. I have to give kudos to the dev & design team. There are so many useful and practical features in the Roborock app. For starters, the app displays the battery level, the cleaning area size in your home, and the amount of time it will take to clean that area. It automatically draws an entire map of your home which includes all of the different rooms and areas. The app automatically labels all the rooms and the floor types for each room. It even places little icons that resemble things like furniture, tv stands, footwear, obstacles, dining tables, and several other points of interest. Very impressive. As the robovac cleans and makes it's way throughout your home, it visibly draws it's route on the map in real-time. Since I have two stories, it saves two seperate maps (it can store upto four). You can start, pause, resume, and return the robovac to it's docking station directly from the mobile app. You also have a plethora of options in terms of changing the suction power (i.e. quiet, balanced, turbo, max), the mop scrub intensity (i.e. mild, moderate, intense), the mop route (i.e. standard, deep), and you can even manually customize the way the Roborock S7 will clean based on the floor and room type. A very neat feature within the app is "Remote Viewing". This feature allows the app to tap into the robovac's camera, regardless of your location, and watch in real-time as your Roborock S7 roams around your house cleaning. You can even talk through the app and the robovac will use the built-in mic to reproduce your voice. Although this feature seems more of a novelty, I found it to be pretty neat. It allows people that may not have an existing indoor camera system in the home to take a quick peek at what's going on. For those that have kids or pets, you can quickly say Hi! It also has a feature for pets where it will improve obstacle recognition at the cost of cleaning efficiency. Lastly, I'm impressed by the amount of firmware updates that are regularly released on the app and pushed to the robovac. It instills confidence that Roborock is continously working to improve things like obstacle recognition and performance to ensure that their flagship remains the best possible offering on the market. Overall, I can't state enough how impressed I've been with the performance, features, and practicality of this product. It is, without a doubt, the most innovative and complete robot vacuum solution that you can possibly get. Even the presentation of this product was extremely premium. Not only was it packaged very thoughtfully, but immediately upon opening it, I was presented with a large quick guide with clear illustrations on how to immediately get started with my new robovac. When a manufacturer goes the extra mile to ensure you have the best possible hollistic experience through it's packaing & presentation, ease of product use, well optimized app integration, and the best product performance on the market, it truly makes for a 5 star product. For those that are constantly looking for the absolute best in-class smart home products to automate a lot of life's more mundane tasks, this is easily the best choice when it comes to vacuuming and mopping.

Magnificent! Robot Vacuum / Mop Superstar
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start, I do not write reviews. I do read them, but have never felt the need to contribute until I received the Roborock S7 Max Ultra. All I can say is WOW!! I just received this a few days ago, but have been very, very impressed. Mapped my 3300 square foot main level in 26 minutes. Took me about 15 minutes to make adjustments (2) and name the rooms. The Roborock App is amazing and very easy to use. It took all of 15 minutes to look through all the menus and have a good understanding of what it could do. Sent it out to clean one room at a time and it identified all the couches and beds in each room. Was very impressed that it went under dressers and beds as that is definitely not somewhere I vacuum on a regular basis! I really like the ability to vacuum and mop, just vacuum or just mop as well. Also nice to be able to set the vacuum suction level and mop scrub intensity as well. The first time I had it mop our hardwood floors, I noticed wheel marks / streaks on the floor that were very concerning. I then decided to increase the scrub intensity and sent it our for another pass. The streaks were still there, but barely visible. Sent it out a third time and no more streaks. At first I thought this is not going to work for me if I have to have it clean the hardwood floors three times on every cleaning! There was one small section it could not get to, so I decided to clean that by hand. When I did, I notice there was a film on the floor. Apparently, the cleaner I was using was not being completely removed when rinsing. Anyway, we had a few people over last night, and our dark hardwood floors looked pretty rough. I send Vlad the Inhaler out to vacuum and mop and the floors were spotless and streak free with one pass. The vacuuming ability of this device is amazing. We do have a central vacuum installed, but I can assure you it will not be used very often. This little godsend is doing an amazing job; freeing me up for more enjoyable summertime activities! I know it is expensive, but in my families opinion, it is worth every penny. I cannot tell you how pleased I am and would HIGHLY recommend this unit to anyone looking for the ultimate in robotic cleaning. PS: Sorry to see a few people mention the "44 error" regarding the filter. I did receive it once, and the app actually showed a picture of the unit and two places to look for a potential issue. For me both locations were an issue. When my wife emptied the dirty water tank, she did not secure the lid clip. Also, the water filter float had a small piece of plastic that had lodged in the arm of the float that kept it from opening completely. Obviously, the lid clip was easy to diagnose, but it took a minute to figure out how to remove the water filter, which is just an additional plastic tray with a top with holes drilled in it, and the aforementioned float is in the corner of that assembly. It is very easy to remove and replace once you look at either the picture of it displayed in the app, or by looking in the manual. No more "44 errors" since.

The best robo vac ever
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best robo vac ever built. The senosors work well and it avoids obstacles with ease (there were some hiccups but not too bad). at 5100pa its more than enough with a pet. After about 30 mins of cleaning it left my floors shining and fur free. Also the mop works fairly well. Its not as same as the dedicated vac-mop cleaner like roborock Dyad but it does the job. I would say abaout 70%, which is pretty good for a automated mopping system. The only annoying part is the cleaning the tray. You have to clean it thoroughly as the water tend to get stuck in small places. Other than that i have no complaints. I will probably grab another one for a different floor. Worth every cent.

Going strong after 2 years!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve had it over 2 years now and it’s still going strong! I keep up with regular maintenance which likely prevents issues and certainly means better cleaning. To prevent odors, use a bit of B———l Hard Floor Sanitize in both clean water and dirty water tanks instead of brands soap. It’ll also prevent black gunk from growing in the vacuum’s small tank, which could block tubings. Would definitely buy this exact model again! It’s now available refurbished.

Pretty legit for vac and mop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gave it 4/5 and here’s why. The unit is amazing. Cleans well, and actually mops well. Downside is it’s hard to get the actual cleaning solution, and replacement bags are used instead of just emptying a bin. Price point also knocks it down a star. Apps good. Haven’t got it dialed in beyond zone cleaning yet. It’s pretty awesome at going from hardwood to rugs and using the vac/mop feature is pretty slick. When it transitions from rug to hardwood, it has about a 6-8” delay before the mop touches back down. I have an old stinky golden retriever I acquired when my dad passed away and that’s a hairy messy dog. It won’t clean the rug well. But the more I run it the better it stays clean.

I will never buy an iRobot again!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Roborock - S7MaxV Ultra Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum and Sonic Mop with Empty Wash Fill Dock and I cannot say enough good things about it. I have owned several robot vacuums in the past, including some from iRobot, but this one blows them all out of the water. It does an exceptional job of cleaning my home and has made my life so much easier. I love that it has an empty wash fill dock that allows me to easily empty and fill it when needed. The price tag was a bit hefty, but it was definitely worth every penny. After having such a great experience with this Roborock vacuum, I will never buy an iRobot again!

Everyone needs this
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best thing I have ever bought. I love how easy it was to set up. But the best thing that I love about this is the mop and how well it works. I have been waiting on this for years. It is a little pricey, but over all if you bought a vacuum cleaner and then a separate mopping be about the same pricing I think. Would not except my photos
