Ninja Foodi's 6 in 1 XL (5 at) dual zone smart cook system air fryer is the newest product that Ninja just released. The first thing that stands out on this air fryer is the size of the two big baskets which are enough to cook two dishes simultaneously for a large family. The second thing I noticed is it automatically adjusts the start time (match cook) on dual baskets (different food, different temperatures, different cook times, perfect doneness) to make sure they are ready at the same time - this is the best part of their smart cook system! They definitely took the cooking in the air fryer to a whole new level. This one still has the nice functions that you want in a single air fryer- Air Fry, Air Broil, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate. The third best thing is its IQ boost function that automatically distributes the power across each basket to quick food in both zones as quickly as possible without selecting the match cook or smart finish - haven't tested this function fully with meat products. This comes handy when cooking a whole chicken + fries at the same time -my next meal! My initial reaction was the right crispiness I saw on all the food (chicken wings, veg tempura, whole chicken, fries, roasted vegies) I cooked so far, took the guess work out of the equation. The meat thermometer/temperature probe attachment that came with the air fryer is pretty handy. The baskets and grill plates are dish washer safe. Digital screen, touch controls, right shape and size adds to the aesthetics of my kitchen appliances - yes, I love tech on my kitchen appliances and nothing wrong in showing off the big air fryer to the guests :-) Nothing beats the value to the price on this air fryer compared to what's in the market today. This was a major upgrade from my one-year-old XL air fryer, and I am thoroughly enjoying it, amazed at how fast it cooks and the crispiness I get on everything I cook. I pretty much use it every day now!

Can’t get any easier to get a perfect cook. 2 different foods at different temperatures and cook time finished both foods at the same time. This is amazing technology. Not sure why I waited so long to purchase an air fryer. Luv it

I love my Ninja Air Fryer! It's the best kitchen appliance I've ever owned. I use it almost every day to cook everything from chicken and fish to vegetables and fries. It's so easy to use and the food always comes out perfectly cooked. I love that it has two separate baskets, so I can cook two different foods at the same time. This is perfect for busy weeknights when I don't have time to cook two separate meals. I can just throw everything in the air fryer and let it do its work. This is also very easy to clean. The baskets and crisper plates are all dishwasher safe, so cleanup is a breeze. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my air fryer. It's a versatile and convenient kitchen appliance that makes cooking easy and enjoyable. I also bought this to replace my six year old air fryer (that was also a Ninja) so I am confident that this will last me many years as well.

I’m so glad this item exists!! It has two 5qt chambers that have so much space inside. It give you so many cooking options and allows you to cook each side as if they were separate or you can choose to match them and cook on the same setting with the same cook time. It has been so convenient and such an energy saver so I don’t have to waste electricity heating up my oven to cook something small. Best part is the food is cooked quickly, without oil unless you want to spray some, and comes out crispy (when using air fryer mode as desired)! This is a purchase I have not regretted at all. Note: to keep it as clean as possible I did purchase some silicone inserts which have still allowed the food to come out as desired. Also, it’s large (which is fine by me) so rather than having to take it out or put it away, it has earned a permanent place on our counter since we use it so much for so many different foods! Enjoy! And try to buy it when a deal is going on if you can! PS. My pictures show it brand new on our counter but that was 2 or more months ago! It’s bigger than it looks and takes up a decent amount of space but it’s worth it.

Foodi Smart Thermometer probe is game changer

How is it that Air Fryer products and technology continue to advance the state of the art? Here is an excellent example of what’s new. I have long been a fan of and recommended “bucket” or basket style air fryers. The other popular style, countertop air fryers, typically with glass fronts and an open cavity, easily become filthy. An upscale countertop oven, they are a more modern version of a toaster oven. The self-contained “bucket” design that I prefer places the heating element at the top, above an enclosed bucket at the bottom of which is, typically, a crisping rack The rack also allow air flow all around the food. All liquids, splatters and debris are contained within the “bucket”. The bucket and rack are non-stick coated and easily cleaned by hand or in a dishwasher. What’s new with this Ninja Foodi model? The major upgrade to this double-basket model is a feature not seen before. This DZ550 is a dual basket 10-qt design with something extra. The left bucket has a helper, a temperature probe on a wire. Use the probe to alert and automatically shut down the DZ550 when the probe’s set point is reached. How is this different from other models? It’s the “Foodi Smart Thermometer” probe! An entire six-pound chicken with probe fits in the left basket and may be cooked on the roast setting. Another up to six-pound chicken may also be simultaneously cooked in the right side bucket, say, on the AirFry setting, then the unit may me be set so the food in both sides can finish at the same time. That’s genuine convenience any way you slice it. • The Ninja XL air fryer with two independent cooking baskets tips the scales at about 20 pounds. • With 1690 Watts of available power, it is expected to cook whatever is in one or both baskets as quickly as possible, all the while consuming less energy than a conventional oven. Temperature settings range from 105º - 450ºF. **WHAT’S IN THE BOX** • Ninja Foodi 6-in-1 10-qt. XL 2-Basket Air Fryer • Dual 5-qt Cooking Baskets • Nonstick Crisper Plates • Foodi Smart Thermometer • Documentation **THE SETUP** READ everything, then re-read everything. There is much to learn and apply in order to experience a comfort level with repeatable successful outcomes. A probe that connects to a port at the left front above the left bucket is the only obvious visual difference between this model and others with a similar look. Using the DZ550 in AirFryer mode, there is no easy way to determine the doneness of meat, fish or poultry. I use the tried and true method, which is to open the bucket and insert an instant-read thermometer in a few spots. With practice, I have become adept at estimating the correct cook time of my fan favorite whole chicken preparations. But now, the probe changes everything and takes the majority of guesswork from the equation. For a six-pound chicken, as an example, I set the temperature to an internal doneness of 160º, not the recommended 165º, “with the probe inserted horizontally into the thickest part of the breast, parallel to, but not touching, the bone. Make sure the top reaches the center of the thickest part of the breast and doesn’t go all the way through the breast into the cavity.” I don’t like dried out, overcooked chicken breast. Press the button and let it happen. At the same time, another food, perhaps AirFried wedge potatoes that everyone here loves, can be set so that both buckets are done at the same time. Built-in intelligence rockets the DZ550 to a higher performance level with new options not available on previous air fryers. Ninja calls it the Smart Cook System. Versatility is the name of the game. Use the DZ550 with or without the probe, with or without both “zones” (buckets), i.e., DualZone Technology, with or without Match Cook. Functions include Air Fry, Bake, Roast, Air Broil, Reheat and Dehydrate. The provided Quick Start Guide includes instructions and many recipes. After hand washing both baskets and crisper trays, I set them back in place, set the operation to Roast, the temperature to 400º, and set the timer for 12 minutes. This was to burn off any debris or oils coating. And now, it’s time to . . . **PUT IT TO THE TEST** Always the first thing I make in an air fryer, I prepped an over six-pound chicken. Seasoned well and with the probe inserted as instructed, I cut a few russet potatoes into wedges and soaked them in ice water for 30 minutes. Rinsed, then pat-dried, I tossed them in a large prep bucket with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoky paprika and Lebanese Za’atar. Next, set so the chicken and fries would be ready at about the same time, with the push of a button, the cooking began. Sure smelled great! Practice, practice, practice, and more practice. Once again, family and friends are enjoying the ever-expanding repertoire of wonderful dishes made with my most recent AirFryer. I can see daylight ahead! Pretty soon, everyone here will enjoy this versatility of deliciousness. **CONCLUSION** This Ninja Foodi 6-in-1 10-qt. XL 2-Basket Air Fryer with DualZone Technology & Smart Cook System is a big hit here. The product appears to be durable and well-built. Yes, it takes some dedicated, uninterrupted study of manuals to become comfortable with the different procedures. It has been absolutely worth the time AND effort. **WARRANTY** Ninja DZ550 comes with the manufacturer’s one year parts and labor warranty.

This was a gift - but the recipient responded that he likes it very much. He is impressed with how easy it was to learn and how great the food is. He started with hamburgers and French fries, and he says they are some of the best he has had. He is branching out to steak, bacon, and other things. He is impressed with out little odor there is, and it is clear that someone who wasn't entirely comfortable with cooking is quickly branching out and becoming more self sufficient. This is a great product!

    Good Solid Air Fryer

Available now is Ninja's Foodi Smart XL 2-Basket Air Fryer. It offers a variety of cooking options. The package comes with the air fryer and paperwork only. The manufacturer's warranty is for 1 year. PROS: --------- * Solid build, durable construction * Easy-to-use controls, Ninja keeps it simple * Included is a food thermometer which you can use for certain foods while cooking (ie. whole mini-chicken); however, I did not use this option since I did use food that required this. * Having the option to cook 2 things at once but finish at the same time is the best feature about this small appliance. * The bins are non-stick and clean easily * The removable pan at the bottom of each bin has rubber pieces at the corners to keep it in place when you need to shake the bin or empty it out. This keep the bottom from falling on top of your food if you turn it upside down. I'm unsure how the rubber will hold up over time though. I found that using tongs to get some items out worked great too. * Dishwasher safe bins and inside trays may make it easier for some people. Given these have rubber stops on the corners of the inside plates, I personally like to hand-wash those so they will last longer. * If you have 2 of the same item to cook (or "like" items) that require identical temps and times, there is a function you can use called Match Cook which will match both bins' temp/times with the press of a button. CONS: --------- * The rubber feet/grips holding the bottom plates in the bins can create enough friction that might make them a little tough to pull out because of the limited space to put your fingers on the center "pull" area. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ------------------------------------ * A misconception regarding this machine's Smart Finish function (and one I had at first) is that if you enter 2 different items to cook at different temperatures with different times, this machine DOES NOT cook them both at the same time while adjusting temperatures so they finish at the same time. It's a much more BASIC concept. The machine simply doesn't start cooking the less-timed item until the clock counts down from the other time and hits that time. While the longer-timed item is cooking, the other item is simply "On-Hold" and sits there. Now depending on how long that hold time is may determine whether or not you want to cook both at once (if an item can't be thawed for extended time). * It has spacers on the back side to prevent the unit from being flush against a wall or other item. See picture. * I found that most of the cooking times are usually on the upper end of the time range to get to the correct "doneness", especially raw chicken wings and raw potatoes. On "already-cooked" frozen items, this was not an issue. CONCLUSION: ============ Disclaimer: I only used this small appliance as an "air fryer". It claims to have other functions like bake, reheat, roast, and dehydrate, but frankly, if I'm going to bake something with LESS of a mess, I can simply use a small portable oven. It's much easier to clean a baking tray (or no mess at all if you put down aluminum foil) than have to clean an air fryer basket and tray. So for my purposes, I only air-fried items since that's really the main function of the appliance. I cooked raw cut potatoes, frozen chicken wings, frozen chicken strips, frozen chicken nuggets, and frozen fries. Everything turned out great, and cooking 2 different items at different temps/times worked out really well. All items were cooked thoroughly including the raw items, and they turned out very tasty. If you like a more crispy french fry, you will want to cook on the upper end of the time range suggested in the booklet. Be sure to toss the contents of the basket 1-2 times during cooking or they may cook uneven or stick together. Overall, a great product that gives the options for multi-food cooking. With my other air fryer, I could only cook 1 thing while I baked my other item in a nearby small oven. Now I can do it all at once while using Smart Finish to have it complete at the same time. Great product! Definitely recommend.

This is our first air fryer and we love it. The instructions and set up are straight forward. It is a little tall so if you don’t have a lot of space between the counter and cabinets above them, know that it will likely get quite hot under the cabinet. The dual range drawers work exactly as described. Each fryer can be made to cook for different lengths of time and temperature. Probably what I like most about it is that you can pull the drawer out whilst cooking to check on the progress so you don’t overlook.

One of the best kitchen gadgets I have purchased. Instead of slaving over a stove I just pop in the air fryer - watch TV or do a puzzle and it’s ready in minutes. Even better I can cook two items at a time and they finish at the same time. I only have it about a month or so therefore speak of longevity but so far so good.

It’s a good sized air fryer(well 6 in one really not just air fry)… First thing that impressed me was how much cleaning is required. It might be large but really all you have to worry for the most part is the two baskets. The display is very simple to use but if something is confusing there is always the instructions that come with it. I love the thermometer especially for meat and poultry. Today I made two big baked potatoes and they came out delicious (air fry setting at 400f for 41 minutes. The features that I can’t wait to use is cooking two different items and having them finish at the same time. How that works is it recognizes that something in 1 needs more time so it will put the 2 in hold or standby mode. Size wise it fits our small kitchen fine and actually looks really nice. Built quality seems good. It has a lot of plastic portions but feels and looks sturdy. I was surprised that I still needed 40 min for the two baked potatoes but that is standard across most cookers. Overall I love it. If you don’t like the design of the two cookers side by side I get getting something else but if you want a good one with all kinds of neat tech get this one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****Review***** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have owned my fair share of air fryers, from Ninja Foodi, Bella Pro to Philips, and I have to say, this one is great if you need to cook a lot of things at different temperatures and fast. First and foremost, it heats fast, crisps nicely, and cooks evenly and thoroughly. The unit is extremely quiet compared to the other units I’ve owned - I can’t even hear this one when I have my tower fan on. I also appreciate that the unit stays cool, especially for a dual fryer. I found this unit can hold quite a bit of food in each basket. I was able to pop in 15 dino nuggets and a good serving of fries in each. It filled up the basket about 1/2 of the way; I could have easily thrown more nuggets and fries in. To get into the features, I really like that it has a digital screen instead of a dial; it takes the guesswork out of temperature and time. It has two settings, one for each basket and they can be set independent of each other and use the “Smart Finish” to make sure both baskets are finished at the same time. For example, if one basket is timed for 15minutes and the other basket is set for 10minutes, basket one will start first then the second will kick in when 10minutes remain. Aside from that, the presets (Fry, Broil, Dehydrate) are typical for a Ninja. I do appreciate that they are independent buttons rather than a single button/cycle function. I did notice that the temperature range on this one is far wider than any air fryer I’ve seen to date. 105F~450F - I can’t imagine when I’d use above 400 but the option is there. Also, the inclusion of a thermometer is a nice touch, especially if you plan to cook raw meat. The basket and rack are lightweight and non-stick so oil was very easy to wash off even after it was cooled down. In saying that, I did find the basket design could be better because I like to dump out the content if it’s a lot of small biters like fries, pizza rolls, popcorn chicken, chicken nuggets, etc.. Because this unit has a rack instead of a removable inner basket, if you pour the contents out, the rack may come out with it. Although I found that if the rack is firmly pushed down, this does not seem to happen. I also think some features could be improved. Compared to my previous air fryer, it does not have a preview window - which I found really helpful because I didn’t have to open/close the basket to check on food. My previous air fryer also stopped running when the basket was removed - this one does not have this feature. It’s not a huge deal breaker but because I have young children, it would be nice to have this as a safety feature, just to make sure that my kids don’t get burned or injured if the unit continues to run without the basket. Overall, it’s a nice looking dual air fryer that is amazingly efficient and has nifty features. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****What's in the box***** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ninja Food 6-in-1 10-qt. This is my third Ninja Air fryer. This one is excellent. It has 6 cooking setting. The dual baskets allow yiu to cook the same or different foods with match cooking time and temperature settings or they can have different cooking time and temperature settings and finish simultaneously. This unit is very easy to clean. It also has a excellent guide book with cook time and temperature for different foods! I highly recommend this appliance. I use it practically every day. This is the fourth one of these we have bought in the last year. We bought ours and loved it so much we have bought 3 more for presents this year. It’s so awesome to cook things fast. Our recent favorite is cooking steaks at 145 degrees using the thermometer. Shuts off when temp is reached and they are perfect!

Absolute must buy! We use this more than any other appliance. Easy to use, and the smark cook function is super ideal. Makes perfect tri tip, crisp veggies, anything -- too good to pass up the dual buckets.
