Caused a fire.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT BUY! This product caused a fire in my apartment having my family and I lose almost everything. It was not being used at the time and was cleaned after both uses. Ninja customer service basically said too bad and did nothing even with the FD’s report stating the product was the source.

Next Level Air Fryer for All Your Cooking Needs!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Air Fryer has really swept into people’s kitchen lives as the next “must have” small appliance for your Kitchen. I have really liked using them but this Ninja Foodi 6 in 1 XL has been an incredible upgrade to the air frying realm! PROS: - Unboxing is super easy. The whole air fryer is already ready to go you just need to take some protective packaging off of it and thats it! - First impression is that the Air Fryer looks really great! It does not have a cheap look to it, I like the sleek design, and it would look good sitting on a counter most of the time. It is big but it does not feel unnecessarily big. I mean it is an XL air fryer with 2 baskets and a digital dashboard so I feel that given all that it offers it is actually in a nice compact design. Especially since it is a square design and not a circle one, square designs are more space effective in your cabinets or countertop. - Also the baskets themselves are really nice! They are one piece with a small tray that sits at the bottom to promote airflow. The tray comes out an the tray/basket are a really easy to clean. Another perk I like is how since there are two trays, you only have to clean the basket you use aka if you just are making a small batch of something you do not need to clean one giant large tray after. - Immediately I love how easy it is to use! There are a lot of controls and options compared to simpler air fryers, but you are getting a LOT more functionality from this. It has 6 different cooking options (Air Fryer, Bake, Roast, Reheat, Air Broil, and Dehydrate) and you can set a precise time and temp on those options which is great. - With the two baskets, its easy to do two different items at once on different temps & times OR you can just “match cook” if you have a large amount of one item you want to cook in both baskets. Of course it also has this really cool “Smart Finish” feature where it will sync up your two different items to make sure they are both ready at the same time. - The Meat Thermometer/ Probe is an awesome accessory too! It stores nicely on the side and easily plugs in and is used for the “1” basket. I like how it checks the temp in two areas on the probe to ensure great quality as well. - And lastly, of course the food tastes great with it! I mean I can not say enough how great Air Fryers are as a purchase for your kitchen, I like using them more than I do an over with how fast and easy they are to use and how they just give you a perfect taste all around with the way the air flow works. CONS: - When you pull an basket out, the Air Fryer does not automatically “pause” and instead you need to click the “Start / Pause” button instead. It’s minor, but I like being able to quickly pull the basket out to view it instead of pausing it first. - There is not a great way to tell which basket you are viewing on the display. Yes it’s easy because you just click the “1” or “2” and it changes to that basket’s information. But the “1” or “2” is not highlighted in some way when you are viewing that basket. Just a minor design change I would have liked to see. BOTTOM LINE: - I really do think Air Fryers are a great buy for your kitchen and the Ninja Foodi 6 in 1 XL is truly the way to go! It offers incredible options in terms of how you cook your food, cooking two different items at once, and just being fast and flexible with what you are making. This Ninja Foodi really packs a punch and will be a stable for my daily kitchen needs!

Fun and Easy to Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve used an air fryer from time to time and have had great results in cooking. The biggest problem I had before is that with a single basket cooking a meal for family took an extended amount of time. So needless to say my previous air fryer wasn’t utilized as much as I would have liked. When I came across the Ninja Foodi 6-in-1 10qt XL 2 Basket Air Fryer with DualZone Technology & Smart Cook System, I had to have it. This Ninja Foodi air fryer came with loads of features. Some of them are dual zone technology, smart cook, air fry, air boil, roast bake, reheat and dehydrate. It has two independent cook zones with a wide range of temperature for cooking. My favorite of all, is the two independent cooking zones utilizing the 5 qt. cooking basket. First of all, set up was practically nonexistent. I read over the provided manuals and washed the basket and grate. Then to sanitize the system I placed the baskets back into their slots, turned the Foodi to air fry at 400 degrees, pressed the match cook button and ran that for about 10 minutes. Once I run that cycle I was ready to try it out. The first thing I cooked in my new Ninja Foodi Air Fryer were some tater tots and chicken nuggets just to see how the dual zones worked. Utilizing the match cook feature, I was able to cook this meal and have both items finish cooking at the same time. It’s quite impressive to set the two zones to cook different foods and have them both finish cooking at the same time. So no more food getting cold waiting to cook on thing or another to cook. My favorite meal so far in the Ninja Foodi was fried chicken thighs. For a family of 4, I was able to cook some of the best fried chicken I have made to date. After letting the thighs marinate in some olive oil and spices. I was able to place 4 thighs per basket and within 20 minutes I had perfectly air fried chicken. My wife and kids loved them. Before cooking them, my wife wasn’t convinced that they’d be any good, but after eating them she raved about how good they turned out. I have to say, Ninja knocked this one out of the park. I have thoroughly enjoyed cooking with the Foodi dual zone air fryer. It quickly cooks a meal and at the end cleans up easily. I now look forward to cooking because it takes most of the work out of cooking. Fun and easy to use, you won’t regret picking this unit up.

Remarkable Cooker Easy and Functional
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is excellence in a countertop cooker. The functions are very intuitive but you should read the included Quick Start Guide to get a comprehensive look at all the features – this is an extremely well-written guide and does include recipes. This little wonder can Air Fry, Bake, Roast, Air Broil, Re-Heat and even Dehydrate. It can cook with time and temperature setting or you can use the included thermometer to cook to a desired internal temperature of your food. The thermometer has its own onboard cubbyhole. You get 2 separate cooking ovens but they interact in remarkable ways. An example is if you set one for 7 minutes to air fry hotdogs (which come out delicious) you can set the other to cook frozen curly fries for 9 minutes. You can set different temperatures for each food ‘and’ you can tell the cooker to magically cook such that both items will complete preparation at the same time – neat and convenient.. The baskets and crisper plates have a completely non-stick coating for a really easy cleanup. I’ve had several cookers of this nature and the quality and functionality of this unit tops everything by a wide margin. Tip of the cap to the engineers who came up with this one. Of course there are safety options, for example if you pull a basket out the cooking stops. The front panel has an array of controls that are simple to understand. The ability to use only one of the ovens exists. Your max temperature to Bake, Roast or Air Fry is 400 degrees. The Air Broil function can be set up to 450 degrees. I’m not a good cook, but I did take 1.25 pounds of skinless chicken breasts and soaked them in a can of beer with BBQ sauce added. Took them from this marinade and covered them in EVOO, added salt, pepper and Adobo. Tossed them in under the Roast function at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Super moist chicken, completely cooked perfect with a caramelized coating (see my photo). I also tried hot dogs, curly fires and asparagus. This cooker makes everything tasty, relatively fast and with simple quick clean up. I highly recommend this device. You will be delighted with all the ways to use it. Take your time to get to know this device because it can perform magic on food. I guess you can sense I loved this cooker and am using it for everything.

10 Stars Absolutely great unit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first discovered the air fryer, it was a game changer in my kitchen. I praised this technology to anyone that would listen. I use mine several times a week. I've gone through a couple since then, purchased all from best buy, and loved them all. But taking this Ninja air fryer out of the box, I knew it was a much better machine. The look and feel screams quality. Most Ninja products are. By being a 2 basket fryer it did take a little more real estate than my previous one, but it wasn't as tall. The last one by Bella looked great but looked like I had R2D2 on the counter, LOL. The Gourmia looked like a big ugly egg. I guess looks are subjective. I really like how this look on my counter top. What's important is how it works. Since both basket equals 10 qt, making each one 5 qt it didn't have the room that a single 8 qt. But how often do you use the whole 8qt? I realized not that often. The single basket on the ninja was sufficient for my every day use and if I really needed to do more, I just used both. I also noticed since the basket was smaller the cooking time was greatly reduced. That took a little getting use to. The ability to cook or re-heat 2 different food items with 2 different temp was awesome. I wish I had gotten this sooner. As for the functionality of this unit, it was much easier to understand than the previous ones. The buttons are straight forward and if you've ever used any air fryer, the learning process is quick. If you've never used one, I think this unit would be very easy to learn. But 2 things really stand out for me about this unity. First is the match cook button. Literally press to have both basket to the same temp and time. Easy. Second and this really got me happy, the unit comes with a temp gauge built into the side of the unit that plugs directly into the unit. Also on the left side basket, there is a little opening so the wire can come through (look at photo). How cool and thoughtful was that? Absolutely worth the money and I would give it 10 stars if possible.

Impressive Dual Zone Air Fryer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are a few constants every fall: pumpkin spice, football, and a new batch of kitchen gadgets and gizmos from Ninja. Over the last week, I have been testing out the Ninja Foodi Smart XL 2-Basket Air Fryer (DZ550). The device is basically two air fryers in one. The Smart Cook System helps ensure food items cook the same in both trays or that each tray finishes cooking at the same time. Over the last week, I have air fried frozen fish fillets, French fries, and chicken strips. I have roasted a chicken, made pork chops, and baked mini calzones. Cleanup could be simpler, but the food I have made has come out well. If you are in the market for an air fryer, I think the Ninja Foodi is a solid pick. Setup: In the box, you get the Main Unit, the probe, nonstick crisper plates, and two nonstick baskets. If you are concerned with countertop space, the air fryer is about 15.5 inches wide, by 13 inches tall, with a depth of around 14 inches. There are small tabs on the back near the exhaust fans to keep the unit from resting completely against your wall or backsplash. Experience: I started off simple: frozen fries and chicken strips. And they worked well. It was nice to be able to cook both at the same time and with smart finish, they finished cooking at the same time. Many frozen items now come with air fryer instructions, and I found those instructions worked well. I cooked battered fish fillets, and they came out perfect. They cooked quicker than a conventional oven and they cooked better. After the simple stuff, I decided to try my hand at some of the recipes included with the instructions. I roasted a 4lb chicken and the skin was super crispy while the meat was nice and juicy. This was also where I encountered a small glitch. I made the chicken with roasted potatoes. The dishes were supposed to finish at the same time, but the potatoes were done well before the chicken. I really enjoyed the chicken, but I was limited to a 4lb bird because anything much bigger probably wouldn’t have fit inside the basket. Next, I made pork chops with butter squash and green bean medley. Both the chicken and the pork chops used the smart probe to get the meat to my desired doneness and both times, the probe worked well. Cooking the pork chops to medium well worked perfectly. The pork chops were juicy and tasted great. The squash and green beans were bland. But I guess not all the recipes can be winners and that was clearly more of a recipe gripe than a problem with the air fryer. Using the bake function, I made small calzone pepperoni pockets. They baked up well. I guess my biggest problem with the unit is cleanup. The crisper plates and the baskets are supposedly dishwasher safe, but Ninja will tell you that “to extend the life of your basket, we recommend hand washing them.” I really enjoyed the pork chops, but I could make them just as easily in the oven and my baking trays are dishwasher safe. So, there’s a balancing act, do I enjoy making a dish enough with the Foodi that I am willing to deal with the cleanup. For a few items, that’s an easy yes, but for others, I will probably stick with the oven. Conclusion: I have enjoyed the air fryer over this last week. I’ve eaten well. The roasted chicken was very impressive. The pizza pockets baked well. The smart probe worked well and helped my pork chops cook to the perfect temperature. I see myself using this air fryer mostly for fish fillets, chicken strips, and fries. But I look forward to trying new recipes in the weeks and months to come. The Ninja Foodi Smart XL 2-Basket Air Fryer works well and you can makes some really good dishes with it. If you’re okay with handwashing the baskets, I think you will find a lot to love in Ninja’s latest air fryer.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this product! The possibilities are endless. Having two zones to cook two different things at different temps different ways is awesome. Not having to preheat an oven in this 100+ summer heat has been so nice! I haven’t tried all the features yet but so far have baked, air fried, reheated, and roasted and have loved it. Only wish there were specific recipes or a recipe book that came with it to help gauge more accurately what temps and length some things should be cooked for. So far it’s been a lot of trial and keeping an eye on the baskets. Which is fine! You have to keep tossing and moving your food around to ensure it’s evenly cooked anyways. Do yourself a favor and get some parchment liners. It makes clean up a breeze.

Amazing time saver, great for dual dishes
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Ninja Foodi 6 in 1 10 qt XL Dual Zone fryer mainly for the dual zone feature. As a single guy, the 5 quart capacity is plenty for any single thing I would like to cook, but by far the best aspect of this fryer is the ability to cook 2 different things at once, different temps or cooking types, that take a different amount of time per item. The Ninja Foodi has a feature where it can syncronize the cooking times so that they finish at the same time. This is really awesome as other cooking methods just don't do nearly as good a job as an air fryer, so you would otherwise have to settle for cooking your 2nd menu item in the microwave, on the stove, or in the oven; and then of course you still have to figure out when to start each thing. With the Smart Finish feature, you just tell the fryer what each side needs to be cooked at and for how long, and it delays one so that they finish simultaneously. I tested this feature out immediately doing Fish and Chips; frozen fish filets on one half at 11 minutes; with french fries in the other half at 17 minutes. Both turned out crispy and hot, much better than what the oven could do for either one, and significantly faster as well. A few days later, my next big test was bacon wrapped jalepeno poppers, stuffed with a mixture of cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and paprika. I have included the before and after photos, which don't do the final result justice as all. The bacon was perfectly crispy, the jalepenos had a wonderful crispness as well, and the filling turned beautiful shades or gold, orange and brown, creating a perfect crust on top while leaving a hot, creamy center. They were the best popper I have ever had, and have made a 2nd, equally delicious batch this evening which motivated me to write this review. The final thing I noticed about the fryer, which I think is due to the smaller individual sections, is that it cooks faster than my previous 7 quart fryer. Not sure if that's because with less surface area to heat, it's more efficient, or some other reason, but if you get this fryer, check your food a minute or 2 earlier than what you normally air fry for, you might find that this saves you time compared to whatever you used previously. Not only does this do an amazing job, but I believe it looks better than every other air fryer out there. The dark gray and stainless combination is very sharp. The display is bright and easy to read with large text. In closing, whether you need an extra large capacity fryer and will be using both sides to cook a super sized portion of one thing; or you often cook 2 dishes and want to use the air fryer for both, this is exactly what you want. I have several Ninja appliances and even Ninja Foodi cookware; everything they make is of top notch quality. Ninja products often cost more than similar products by competing brands, but in this case you truly get what you pay for. The quality and features are worth the cost, and I predict that I will get significantly more life out of this fryer compared the ones I have owned previously. I give it an enthuiastic 5 star rating and would recommend this product to everyone.

For healthier cooking!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new Ninja Foodi 6-in-1 dual basket air fryer. It comes in handy during the summer when it's hot outside and I don't want to heat up the kitchen and for when I want to cook healthier with little to no oil. It allows me to cook two things at once so I can cook wings and tots or a whole chicken and a vegetable. One side has a thermometer so I can put bigger cuts of meat in that side and feel confident it'll come out perfectly done. The air fryer is easy to clean, too. The drawers can be cleaned with soapy water, or if you don't want to do that, you can use paper or silicone inserts to keep the inside of your air fryer cleaner. The air fryer isn't overly tall either so it will easily fit on the counter under cabinets. It would make an excellent gift for newlyweds, or college kids, or anyone who wants to eat healthier. It's so versatile!

This is the best XL Air Fryer...period.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have three air fryers...a single bin XL Pro, a Gourmia 9-qt 2 basket, and this one. I had the Gourmet for 6 months before I purchased this one. Cooking with the thermometer is a complete game changer. I love being able to set and forget (for the most part) poultry and steaks in this thing. I wish I could use the thermometer in either basket, but it's not that big of a deal. The ventilation on this is much better than all the others I have. This honestly just cooks better than all the rest and I'm not joking. My fried and baked foods taste better and come out juicier, smart cooking options are so easy too. I am surprised at how much we use this thing. We went from using an oven/Gourmia combo to strictly using this Ninja air fryer every day. I haven't turned on my oven in at least a month. This one made the Gourmia get put away.
