Overall good keyboard. Little price for what it is but within norms. I like the tactile feel of the keys but i find myself hitting the key next to it and is a bit annoying. Could be me just getting used to it. Wish the backlighting was a bit brighter. Feels like a quality built keyboard.

    World Class Typing/Terrible RGB

The Good: The switches on this keyboard are absolutely amazing and the typing experience is second to none. What really drew me to this keyboard was the reduced height in they keys to another mechanical keyboard that I was using. It's a total dream to type on and has a real premium feel to it. The volume knob is extremely useful and smooth to operate as well. When the RGB is functional there are some really cool things that you can do with them in the G Hub. The USB passthrough is also nice, having the ability to plug a USB enabled device into your keyboard is a bonus, note it does split out as two USB cables in the back, one for the keyboard and one for the device, so you're not really adding another port, just moving it closer to you. Lots of customization options with hot keys and different profiles you can set up and switch to. The Bad: My big pet peeve with this keyboard is the RGB lights, which should matter when you're paying $200 for a keyboard, and it's an RGB keyboard, will shut off after the computer goes to sleep and will not turn back on. At the time of writing this review currently none of my lights are working on the keyboard. You can uninstall the drivers/reinstall to get them back on, or try to restart your computer but that won't always do it either. With an issue like that, I don't feel this justifies a $200 price point. Tried contacting logitech through their G Hub to see if there was some firmware but never heard back from them. Something else to note that's annoying with regards to the RGB is that the secondary functions of keys aren't highlighted by the lights when/if they do work. For instance the 1 key will be lit up but the ! will not be, that's in the design, nothing to do with failing RGBs. Ultimately : If you're looking for an incredible typing experience but don't really care about lighting for your keyboard then go for it, otherwise you can save money and get something with back lighting that works.

Hi Kyle, Thank you for this honest and fair review of the G815 LIGHTSYNC Gaming Keyboard. So sorry to hear about the issue you're having with the RGB lighting. In regards to firmware updates, you'd see a red dot on the settings for your G815 in G Hub. It sounds like there's a setting that is causing this problem that you may need to check with your computer. At this time, customer service is experiencing delays in service due to the current global situation, so response times may be delayed. You can always check the support page for the G815 which has some helpful FAQ's for most problems and also there's access to a live chat for any problems that aren't covered. Hope that this was helpful and that you'll be able to fully enjoy your G815. Thank you for being a Logitech customer. - Richard from Logitech

Doesn't work out of the box with icue. Supposedly there is a way to sync them up. Other than that, it is a great keyboard if you are looking for a flat laptop type keyboard.

The keyboard itself is great, but strangely the keyboatd was slightly warped in the middle , returned and got another one, same problem. Wound up giving up altogether and getting a black G915 instead.

Comfortable to use and has excellent color customization, but having two USB cables (one for the keyboard to work and the other for the RGB) is a bit clunky, so wouldn't recommend for clean/minimalist desks.

It feels premium for the price. I use it for work, and being honest I enjoy the everyday typing experience. It feels smooth to type, no jitter, not much accidental typing. Clean design. I feel the value is justified for the price even though I was indecisive for a while to pay the price (I paid $130+tax). One downside is, the cable is so thick that it feels obstructive and ugly (if you’re aesthetically concerned).

The Logitech G815 mechanical gaming keyboard is a stellar example of innovative gaming gear. It is a masterfully engineered piece of technology that caters to both hardcore gamers and general users alike, deserving of a 5-star rating. Its LIGHTSYNC RGB technology is captivating, creating an immersive environment that syncs with your gaming or entertainment content. The G HUB software allows users to fully personalize the lighting, from custom animations to individual key colors, choosing from a spectrum of ~16.8M colors. The low-profile mechanical switches are a treat for the fingers, offering the responsiveness and performance of traditional mechanical switches at half the height. However, as much as I appreciate the options of GL Tactile, GL Linear, and GL Clicky, I found myself longing for a tactile variant in black. The G815 is a marvel to look at and use, with a premium AL-MG build that's both slim and robust, thanks to the aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. The available colorways, white and black, cater to different aesthetic preferences, but the addition of tactile black keys would have taken the design to the next level. The programmable G-keys offer a high level of customization for game-specific macros and commands, simplifying the user experience. The dedicated media controls, including an edgeless volume wheel, further enhance usability, allowing for quick adjustments to media settings. An appreciated feature is the USB passthrough, which offers full-power throughput and data speed. This added convenience speaks volumes about Logitech's commitment to delivering a comprehensive user experience. Lastly, the G HUB software allows users to customise by game, connect to third-party apps like Discord, or share custom game profiles with the Logitech G community, enhancing the gaming experience overall. In conclusion, the Logitech G815 is a top-tier gaming keyboard, offering an array of features that place it in a class of its own. However, I do wish it came with tactile black keys, which would only enhance its allure. Nevertheless, it certainly earns a solid 5-star rating.

At first, I was worried about how thin it was. I wasn’t sure how fragile it would be. But once I got it out of the box and on my desk, those worries vanished. It’s built very well and the keys are not unpleasently flat, unlike most laptop keyboards. Paring it with the G Hub software helps manage RGB profiles for different games, and the volume and music playback buttons make thing a lot easier.

Awesome keyboard. I don’t game but wanted some fun features. Programmable G keys for everyday computer commands like opening explorer. I do this about 50 times a day. I only have to push one button now. Being able to program a different color for each button was awesome. Regular letter keys being one color and the rest another color was so nice. It made control alt delete so much easier. The volume roller and play pause fast forward are awesome. Beautiful design without being gamy. The downside. G Hub. In order to program the keys different colors you have to connect to Ghub every time. Ghub is riddled with issues and doesn’t always work. Especially if you hibernate or sleep your computer too many days in a row. You have to constantly mess with it. There is a feature where you can use the keyboard independent of Ghub but the keys must all be one color. Crazy stupid programmers. Gimme a break. A few more keystrokes in your program would allow me to have the colors I want and be free from Ghub. Ghub is for gamers not for guys like me. It has all sorts of complicated programming necessary for gamers. I’m sick every time I turn on my computer just hoping Ghub loads and does what I told it to do. Bummer. I want to program my colors and be done with Ghub. This company can grab so much more market share by changing this one simple issue. No regular computer user wants to be forced into an unreliable software that takes features away when using it independently of the program. My fear is that one day Ghub will get worse or be discontinued and I’ll be stuck with one color for every key. I will no longer want to use the keyboard that way and be forced to spend another $200 for a new keyboard. Keyboards can last 10 years but because of Ghub I don’t think it will.

Amazing keyboard, G Hub software is buggy

    Posted .

I don't game as much as I used to, but I'm glad I got this keyboard because it is a dream to type on. The low height means I don't need a wrist rest, and the shorter key travel and gentle springs mean less work for my fingers as I type. At first, I found the price daunting, but I remember buying the original mechanical keyboards for over a hundred dollars back in the early 1980s. If you adjust for inflation, that would come out to 300+ or 400+ in today's dollars. Those membrane keyboards changed our perception of what prices are reasonable. The G1 - G5 macro keys are fairly useless for me, although I can see how useful they would be for certain games. Unfortunately, their use for regular productivity tasks is extremely limited because when you use a macro to launch an application in G Hub, none of the arguments are ever passed to the launched application. This means, for example, that you can assign a G key to launch Windows Explorer, but you can't have it open in a particular folder (which would be much more useful). You can assign a G key to launch a browser, but you can't have it go to a particular URL or launch in private mode. The macro interface clearly has a box for arguments, but nothing you put in there actually gets passed to the launched app from what I can tell. There are plenty of complaints on the Internet about how buggy the G Hub software is. Also, it's a bit of a bummer that the lighted keys do not show secondary key symbols (such as the @ on the 2 key). That makes it inherently less useful in low-light settings. On the plus side, I like the lighting customization options. For example, most of us are instinctively trained to go to the bottom left of the keyboard to find the Ctrl key, but that often results in hitting the G5 key as well. By changing the colors of individual keys (they even animate to go back and forth between different colors), I no longer hit any G keys on accident. Furthermore, it's easier to find certain other keys with the right colors on the right keys.

Went into the store looking to spend around 130, but when this keyboard was brought to my attention, even at 200, I couldn't say no, I enjoy everything about it, the fact that it's a full size board, very nice keys, the volume slider, aluminum top finish, addressable rgb, it really helped finish off my set up and I would gladly but another logitech brand keyboard based on the quality of this one
