Awesome printer
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The power of the big office printers in this little machine. But at what cost? So I bought this printer when it was on sale. It was still pricey compared to the cheaper printers. Setting up this printer was easy. Just hook the power cable and turn it on. That is it. To use all features connect it to the internet and do a printer update. The update option is on the printer screen. It prints really fast. This is the black and white version. The printer with color toner is more expensive. Note, this printer is kinda heavy. I gave them all 5 stars.

This All-In-One Wireless B&W Printer Does It All
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My current LaserJet printer still works, but I can no longer find printer cartridges for it. I hated to do it, but I realized that it was time to replace it. There are a lot of options on the market, and after an active search I came across the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw. I have always owned HP printers, so I stayed with the brand out of loyalty for their quality products. What attracted me to this printer were the following aspects: • It is a printer, scanner, copier and fax machine • There is auto, two-sided printing • It offers fast printing (42 ppm) • You have the option of wireless and USB connectivity • Laser cartridges versus inkjet means cheaper cartridges and better quality copies The unboxing was easy, and the initial setting up went well. There is a YouTube video from HP that takes you step-by-step through the unboxing and setting up of the printer with USB. My husband and I have a newly designed office with new desks and a bookcase. At 16.54 x 15.35 x 12.72, the printer doesn’t take up a lot of valuable real estate and fits nicely on the middle shelf. To avoid having an unsightly cable extending from the printer to my docking station, I chose to connect the printer to my laptop wirelessly. I logged into my pre-existing account with HP Smart and I’m using the HP Smart app to manage this LaserJet printer and my color HP DeskJet printer. I can see the supply levels and I have the option to scan, print documents and photos, mobile fax, and modify printer settings. I see that I have the option to add my husband as another user who can connect and manage from the dashboard. While I purchased this printer for home, it is equally appropriate for a small business. As an adjunct professor for an evening class, I often find myself making copies at the last minute. Though it won’t staple packets, it does collate double-sided copies. No more turning over one-sided copies and re-feeding the paper into the tray! The two trays (250- and 100-sheets) make it easy to do large task copying. With 42 ppm, it won’t take a long time to do larger print jobs. On the downside, the multiple short attempts to complete the printer set up were not as helpful as spending considerably more time to focus. I ran into some issues and got frustrated. Tt took time to work my way through them. I couldn’t find where the printer cartridge was to access the Printer PIN to set up wirelessly. I finally printed out a Printer Status Report at a prompt and found the PIN there. I also printed a Quick Start Guide from the device control panel. As part of the process, I went to the link provided to follow the directions to set up the printer and download printer software. I wasn’t comfortable giving access to HP. I haven’t been able to set up the fax or connect to my mobile yet. Another thing is the device control panel is small and not user friendly. It is hard to see, particularly when trying to scroll down and difficult to navigate. Plus, it is easy to press the wrong icon. Important to note: there is a USB cable, but it isn’t very long. My old printer had a longer cable. In summary, I find the printer to be a miniature of the workhorse I use at work. It multitasks nicely and is very convenient. It is a relief not to have to go into the office to accomplish certain tasks, such as scanning, printing, and faxing.

Awesome laserjet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being a relative older person, I'm able to remember many ways of printing throughout the years. I've been a small business owner for many decades and I still giggle thinking about those old dot matrix printer going back and forth making that familiar noise. LOL. The very first print of this machine made me smile. It was probably the fastest "personal" computer I've owned and the prints was sharp and clear. I touched the print and none of the ink smeared. That's my old guy mind working, haha. Unboxing was straight forward with not a lot of parts besides what you need to get going and some information papers. After plugging in the unit and powering it on, just follow the instruction on the display and you should be ready to print in a relatively short period of time. Not a lot fuss which I appreciated. Speaking of the display, I was a little hesitant about it because my older hp inkjet has a display just a little smaller than this one and I would once in awhile have issues pressing the selection I wanted. Maybe it's my big sausage fingers, lol, but I didn't like it. Messing with this unit for awhile, I have never had this issue. It was a lot more accurate and responsive. I chose to set this up using the wifi and had no issues btw. This unit is capable of printing, scan, copy and fax. I tried all 4 features and it all worked flawlessly. Yes, I even faxed something LOL. My end user on the fax told me he received the fax quickly. Running a quick test, I took one of my sons old reports and put it in the feeder to copy. Probably 20 or so pages and it just zipped right through. No jams. Made me smile. This unit also has a usb port in the front of the unit so you plug a usb drive to print directly through. I did not try this, but felt good to know it's there if I want to do this. The unit is a front loading for paper and is easy to access. Also has a front door to replace toner and to access the interior if there is a jam, which I did not have any. I really liked how roomy it was because I kept thinking if I ever had to check the inside for any issues, it would be easy. Again, maybe my old thinking. LOL. There is also an app from HP that you can download to your phone and control the printer. It is featured pack and worked great. I mostly us the HP Smart app on my windows computer and it is so easy to use. If you are a medium/high volume user and want something that prints quickly and quietly, this is the unit for you. So easy to use and very quiet as well. I really recommend this printer and with the HP name behind it, I think it's also gonna last a long time.

Professional Compact Printer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Laser Jet Pro MFP 4101 fdw was super easy to unbox and install. Weighing at just under 28 lbs. and being just 16.54” W x 15.35” D x 12.72” H, it the right size for a home office, small business, or student who needs to print any significant amount of material. The printer will print, copy, scan, and fax, but does so only in black and white. The speed and quality of the printing makes it idea for reports, documents, graphs, etc. It is capable of printing forty-two pages per minute at 1200 dpi and it prints and scans on both sides. Even with the laser speed, there is no damp ink or smudges on the printed pages. The HP Laser Jet Pro MFP 4101 fdw is designed to print 750 to 4,000 pages per month and can manage up to ten wireless connections that can include a combination of laptops, desktops, and mobile devices. This is the first laser printer that I have ever owned and the crisp clarity of the document and the speed in which it is printed, makes me smile when I remember using my first dot matrix printer which was noisy and awfully slow in comparison. Setup was so easy, and I did most of the setup from the 2.7” wide color display on the printer. From there I could set up the internet connection automatically. I was impressed that the printer came with a USB cable, but I chose to set it up wirelessly. The printer found the router almost immediately and took the password on the first try making an instant connection. From my computer device, I then went to the HP website and downloaded the updated drivers, etc. Through the app, I sent this information to the printer, which in turn started updating so fast that I do not even know if a firmware update was necessary. If it was, the update was so seamless that it just took a very few minutes to complete. The app that was available for download on the HP website helps control and manage the printer. I also downloaded the mobile app version to my phone and tablet. Doing so allows for printing documents straight from those devices. The paper tray operates smoothly and there is also a document feeder for up to ten envelops, etc. It also has a 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and 150-sheet output bin. I really like that the physical form of the printer is designed to be inclusive for all the paper storage without additional plastic paper tray attachments to hold the copies and the original. From day one, those attachments are all so flimsy that I am always knocking them off on the floor. The copies and documents stay neatly on this printer. Standard memory for the HP Laser Jet Pro MFP is 512 MB. Printing can take place from the USB port on the printer situated right under the display. Ink cartridges are not part of this design, but instead this printer uses a toner cartridge which can print greater volume for less and is less like to clog or dry up if there are periods where the printer may not be in use. The toner cartridges designed to work with this printer are based on HP’s Dynamic security system and all toner cartridges contain an HP chip. Sometimes this is difficult if the toner cartridge is not readily available. An advantage to the HP Dynamic security chip is that they not only help regulate how many potential copies are left with the toner installed, but they are a means to maintaining the printer with firmware, etc. updates. I see both points as a plus. The printer is designed and built solid, and I think it will last me for a while. It has already saved a great deal of time with its speed, and I am incredibly pleased with it and would definitely recommend it. Copies look very professional. I wish that I would have had this when I was in graduate school and was paying quick copy stores to print my dissertation over and over for review. This printer is a dream compared to those days.

Easy Setup, Easy to Use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unpacked the printer and the first thing I noticed is it came with a cable to connect my computer directly to the printer if I wanted. I have a wireless connection, but I like the direct connect option. Next, I looked in the box for the printer cartridge. I was surprised to find it was already in the printer and ready to go! Plugged in the Laser Jet and was prompted to connect to my network. Then I went to my computer to see about loading printer drivers, etc. I was pleasantly surprised when the Laser Jet simply showed up as a printer choice. Sent a Word document and it printed neatly, completely and very quickly. Next was the scan functionality. This is the feature I will use frequently. I went through the setup of the scan to email. I double checked the settings for the smtp server. If you have email on your phone you can retrieve from there or you can simply search the internet for smtp server settings for your email provider. I double checked my email login and password. Everything seemed correct, but I continued to get an invalid login/password message. After searching both the support site and the internet in general I reached out to HP. I had the best experience with their support team. In less than 20 minutes the support representative had corrected the setting and tested the functionality. The support representative was very helpful and asked if I needed any additional help. He made sure I had the case number in case of any other concerns and then asked if I wanted to keep the case open while I continued to test. This was one of the best, if not the best customer service experience I have ever experienced. Way to go HP! Turns out the setting that was not active is purposely sent disabled for security purposes. It is very easy to activate (a checkbox) if you know where to go. I am including screenshots. Also, the password you enter for your email login is not the password for your email account. You’ll need to create an “app password” to use. Search for “yahoo app password generator” or “google app password generator” and you will find easy to follow instructions. Overall, I really love the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw. Printing in fast and clean. The scan to email and network folder are exactly what I need to quickly do expense reports and other business activities.

Great For Blk & Wht Docs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is basically an insta-printer. What I mean by that, is simple. You pulll it out of the box, plug it in and go. There's no ink to install or any real work. Just connect to your PC and get your wifi going and everything else is falls into place. It holds a large amount of paper and with the pre-installed toner cartrige, you should have a long life in printing. It's easy to locate on you printer and get your documents printed in no time. I guess that's what I really love about laser jet. They are blazing fast. The drawback here, is that this only in black and white. This means that I have to have a whole seperate color printer, if and when I need to print color copies. This happens often. This works well when I'm printing out copies for pull ticketss, to givee to my warehouse guys to end up throwig away after they've pulled everything on the list. Then I have to go to the other printer to print out the color copy that I'm giving to my customers to sign.Copying is a also simple, but again, the only real time I'm using it for that is pul tickets or making a sheet to allow my grandkids to color when they're in the office. Double sided printing is easy and useful when printing pages to give lesson plans. I plan on doing that when the school year starts. In the end, I find this to be really fast and affordable unit, albeit, the toner ccartrige replacement will cost at least $80. And the fact that do have to have another color printer for that kinda color prints, makes this large space hog a little hard to swallow. But if you've got the space and are planning on printing the majority of blk & wht prints, I would whole-heartedly recommend this printer to you.

Quick No Smear Double Sided Printing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not expecting this All In One Laser Jet Pro to be so quick. It was easy to set up and took up less space than my previous one. I sent sent the 60 pages data sheets from my laptop to the printer. It quickly printed on both side faster than I ever expected. It keeps the printed material in the printer without a long arm sticking out in the way. The print was smooth with no smearing. The first day the all in one had a terrible electrical smell and it kept disconnecting from my WI-FI. I kept a close eye on it because I feared it may start a fire. I kept having to reconnect to the WI-FI which was frustrating. I must admit I did not think much of it the first day. The smell was gone the second day and so was the disconnection issue. Now it runs smoothly and I love it! The touch screen panel is well lit and icons fairly large so it’s easy to view even with my aging eyes. It took using it a few times to get the hang of how I had to touch the numbers and letters. The first few times my fingers would graze the wrong ones causing me to delete them. Then I realized that I had to push my finger straight forward and not from the side. Now I don’t have a problem. There was a learning curve but with trial and error I’m a master now.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great MFP at a wonderful price!!!!! Our previous HP MFP finally laid down and died after many years of reliable use.
