Perfect mid tier gaming!!!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can say that dell has built a very good product here and since I got it at a discount, it's just an even better value due to the quality of this laptop. I love it. I'm a regular gamer, from medium tier games to AAA's this pc will run them. Productivity is not hurt either, I would prefer a keyboard with a numpad but other than that, it's perfect. I did have 1 grievance to report and it has to do with windows 11, you must make sure to install all the updates before doing anything else or you will suffer my fate and end up with a bunch of corrupted system files needing a reset, honestly the pc is amazing and dell is not at fault here but microsoft and me.

Great Gaming PC for New Owners
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great graphics and supports majority of triple a games. Loud laptop with fans on. Needs to be mostly connected to power as full battery gives 60mins or so.

Dell G16 (2022)
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up a month ago as an open box deal. It came with the original power adapter (a very large 220W brick) and other than a few cosmetic markings on the lid, it worked perfectly out of the box. It plays current generation fighting games (Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8) at high settings 2560x1600 resolution 60fps with frame generation. It does run a little hot, and the battery lasts a bit over an hour, but this is more meant to be used as a desktop replacement.

Good laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the quality is really good, really quick on the games I usually play. The only problem with it is sometimes it gets overheated. But a good laptop for its price.

no regrets.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely great. Better than expected. No regrets. Recommended. Averagely 90-100 fps on Warzone 2.0 on ultra graphics. Worst part is the battery....

Exactly What I Expected, Very Nice!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted a powerful processor to be able to edit photos (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) and video, while away from home! Very sweet, much more fancy than my earlier Dell Notebook(s)... Alienware was a good influence on this model! Thrilled with everything, so far... coming up on 2 weeks and I am so very impressed with both the value and performance!

Great gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this gaming laptop. Easy to set up install updates. Also great visual for gaming and that’s from Steam to EA to Microsoft games and it’s fast with good battery life. Like most gaming laptops it is heavier than Chromebook tho or regular laptop. So I have it set up at home and use my steam deck OLED to game on the go

Cool, Quiet, Fast, and runs everything I have well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop for the price. I purchased it while on sale and am very happy with this item. I've included some benchmarks to this review, and was very impressed with the SSD speed. I was expecting a slower/average NVME, but this was reading over 7K and writing over 6K. For a laptop, this is pretty powerful and it does not overheat. I've kept an eye on the exhaust fans and power brick, and although they get warm, there is nothing that concerns me. The one thing that I consider a drawback is that I was hoping the keyboard would have larger keys since they removed the 10 Key pad. Its bigger than my other Dell G7, it's just less than I expected. I've ran games on this laptop and on an external 4K monitor without any problems at all. The keyboard has a nice feel and backlight is bright. On the performance screen shots, the DDR5 rating is a bit low, but I found that is the case for desktop DDR5 also when using Passmark. I recommend this for a good basic gaming laptop. Don't waste money on 3050i and below graphics, you won't be happy. The 3060 will do the job well. The 12th Gen i7 processor has 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores which seem to work very well. If you have more to spend, I would recommend the 17.3 screen with a 3070 GPU, but for anyone looking for the best 'bang for the buck', this is your best choice.

Great Laptop w/ Usabiltiy Flaw
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very powerful laptop and has all the features I was looking for. It's fast for gaming but has a pretty loud fan. The single worst part of this latop was the decision by Dell to swap the way characters are printed on the keyboard. You can see in the picture that they are upside down. So you basically have to relearn which keys you push the "shift" key in order to strike the correct key. I would have returned this laptop purely for this flaw but the discount I recieved was just too good and decided to connect a separate keyboard. I would have expected better from Dell and I do not know hot this got past QA.

a good performer at a reasonable price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an early review....If there are issues down the road, I will add in comments. I have trying - and returning - a number of laptops trying to find a reasonably priced gaming machine. Most in the mid priced range have suffered from an assortment of ills, from software, poor screens, etc. Latched on to this Dell at a good price on sale. So far, very pleased with almost all aspects of the machine. The screen is bright, good resolution 2560 X 1600, 165 Hz refresh, however, there is a tiny bit of light bleed at bottom of screen. Gaming performance is quite good with the I7, 16Gb DDR 5 ram, 6Gb Nvidia RTX 3060. And a number of games can be installed on the 1Tb SSD. Trackpad feels smooth, and the clicks are very positive. The keyboard has a good feel and travel. Backlit keys are bright, and the WASD keys are outlined for gameplay. Speakers are not at the top and lack a lot of bass, but get reasonably loud. Headphones sound excellent however. The computer is heavy, solid, and looks to be well built. Little flex in lid, almost none on key bed. The computer does have RGB programmable keyboard, but does not have all the other case / edge lighting. I prefer an understated computer, rather than one with a lot of exterior lighting. Battery life is what it is - on a big machine and running any demanding apps, don't expect more than 2 or 3 hours. And if gaming, it could drop to under 1 hour.... All is not perfect though.... It would have been good to have an SD slot for extra storage. With the size of today's games, even 1Tb can fill up fast. It has quite a selection of ports, but would have been nice to add another USB C or two.... All in all, very nice computer for any everyday work, and does well with gaming also. Recommended.

Quality Gaming Rig That Focuses on Important Stuff
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is a STEAL at the sale price of $1199. I am running raids on WoW on 8 graphics, with 120-135FPS. It connects well. It stays connected. The Alienware app and the Geforxe app make it such an easy laptop to adjust for you and your gaming. It impressed my friend who has been building PCs for years. Dell knocked it out of the park. Major Pros: The graphics, speed and FPS are amazing. The computer works exactly as it specs(arguably better since Alienware and GeForce together have made it AMAZING! Game Mode and Automatic overclocking) Two cons…. The built in mousepad is garbage. It’s unresponsive and needs deliberate movement. (Which isn’t an issue since almost everyone uses a wired or wireless mouse anyway. But should still be mention.) The other con is more of a personal thing…. The screen. It’s great in medium to dark rooms. You aren’t going to love it playing anything at noon in a sunny window. But it also seems to put a VERY MILD strain on my eyes when in a dark room with medium-high to high brightness. Either way, it’s a great laptop. You’d be struggling to find anything in the $1200(sale price) price range that beats it. (I won’t run AMD, I know there’s AMD options out there)

Superb.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reading reviews online for this machine made me rather skeptical to purchase this laptop, however the current deal of $1100 for a laptop with a 3060, i7 12700h and a QHD 165hz display was a no brainer for me. I've generally only ever had 14 inch gaming laptops before, 2020 G14, tested out an open box Alienware x14 before this as well, and let me tell you, having a 16 inch 16:10 display is amazing. I feel as if I can actually see everything without having to move closer to laptop. Now for specifics to this G16: The power limit on this RTX 3060 is 130w I believe, and on MSI afterburner I was getting around that consistently while gaming. This makes for an almost inconceivable difference from this laptop 3060 to the desktop version. The CPU is extremely fast and powerful as well with 14 cores.\ The screen is very sharp and the 165hz is amazing as well, the colors are bright and vibrant, my only issue is the brightness isn't super bright for outdoor use, however I never use it this way and 300 nits for indoor use is more than enough. Thermally speaking, this laptop surprised me, when just browsing the web the cpu was around 40-50c which is very cool, my g14 on the other hand would be in the 70-80s doing the same task. While gaming the keyboard deck and WASD keys got very slightly warm to the touch, but nothing compared to how hot the keyboard got on my G14, while under the load the CPU would be around 75-85c which for a gaming laptop is very respectable. Battery life on the other hand was very poor, getting around 4-5 hours on battery saver mode, Intel is considerably worse for battery life than AMD at the moment so this is expected, however on a gaming laptop I generally have this plugged in to the wall more often than not so I will not be too hard on this for having less than ideal battery life. Overall, for the price I highly recommend this laptop, there are some minor shortcomings, but after installing all bios updates and drivers I have had no issues with this machine.

Very Powerful Machine, a few minor issues
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great computer, for the price. Very good specs out of the box, and easy to upgrade RAM to 32GB, and the SSD is easily upgradable too. It's a gaming machine, but I use it primarily for Photoshop, Lightroom, and the Topaz suite. It breezes through AI tasks. The screen is gorgeous, big, and fast. Just know what you're getting. It's no lightweight and the battery won't last very long if gaming on the go. If hours of mobile gaming is what you're looking for, look elsewhere and get more $$ ready. 2 issues: The power is via a barrel connector, not USB-C. Additional chargers aren't cheap, and they're also very large. The other issue is more frustrating: it's very weak on ports. Ethernet and audio - fine, 2x USB-A (not great), 1x HDMI, and 1x USB-C (with Thunderbolt) - not great at all. If you have a monitor plugged into the USB-C port and you want to plug in anything else, you need to get a hub or dongle. Additional USB ports of both types would make this a 10/10 computer for it's size.

GREAT LAPTOP WHEN ON SALE
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product! If you can get it on sale like I did I can definitely recommend. Battery life sucks if you’ve got the backlit keyboard, and high performance mode on, but if you turn down the performance (still runs plenty fast) then it lasts for several hours. I really pretty great, but I don’t think I’d ever pay the retail $1600 for it personally. One thing to note (this is my first laptop) is that it automatically throttles down performance as a whole when it’s not plugged in to try and save battery

Grear laptop overall
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent laptop overall. I've had it for a year and a half now and it still work as new. It had a few issues in the past, but they all got solved with software updates. The keyboard is good, the screen is perfect for gaming or working and the speakers are good enough. The touchpad could be better but is easy to solve using a mouse.

Worth it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think it’s great. It runs very well, can process a lot of apps at once, even upon start up. As another person said, it does indeed overheat for me but only when plugged in and in sleep mode. While gaming I have no issues with heat level. But leaving it idle while charging is something you want to avoid. Does exactly what I need it to and then some. Great purchase, no issues that I’ve found beyond the idle overheating. Battery lasts a while, love the keyboard layout.
