Old web cam snapped off, so I bought this upgrade to take part in online class, work discussions. Image is good, response rate is not glitchy. I didnt realize web cams were now this expensive, but it was important to me to not use poor performing equipment professionally.

Camera has been overall amazing nothing to really pick at mount works well has a ton of adjustment and the customization in the logitech software for the fov of the camera and the quality presets are awesome for anyone that is not so savy with cameras. I know the price is what may stop some people from buying it. And if you are going to do any type of streaming with this camera on twitch i or any platform I definitely recommend it i have it mounted on my ultrawide also so if you are worried that the mount would not work for your ultrawife it definitely will

Cam is fine. But misled by an error in the specifications listed on Best buy website. Specs say 1080P @ 60 FPS. Once I got it, the first thing I saw was right on the front of the box: 1080P @ 30 FPS 720P @ 60 FPS

My line of work requires me to be in person. That being said, I have monthly virtual meetings with my supervisors who are unable to travel to me due to the amount of offices within our organization. In the past, I’ve attended these virtual meetings on my laptop, which has the most atrocious built in webcam. I wanted a webcam that would make me look at least marginally better than a grainy blob and that I could plug into my office desktop which has multiple monitors. The Brio 500 fit the bill perfectly. During our most recent meeting last week, I received multiple comments on how much easier it was to both see and hear me clearly. I’ve been really happy with other Logitech purchases that I’ve made, and the Brio 500 is no different. So what sold me on this camera? Is there anything not to like? The Positives: - Made of plastic, but build quality is good - Color matches most devices/setups (gray with white speckled body, black around the lens) - Easy plug and play setup - Magnetically attaches to its mount - Picture/video quality beats most built in webcams - Built in microphones that aid in peripheral noise reduction - 90 degree FOV - Built in privacy cover physically covers the lens - White light indicates when the camera is on/in use - Has some extras that improve the overall user experience (light correction, auto framing, and show mode with Logi Tune software) - Priced appropriately for a 1080p webcam with the aforementioned features What’s Not to Like: - The only real thing that I don’t love about this webcam personally is that the attached cable is USB-C. I know this probably sounds weird, maybe even a little blasphemous. But I got the Brio 500 to use with my desktop, which doesn’t have any USB-C ports. Luckily USB-C to USB-A adapters exist. The Brio 500 works just fine with an adapter with no visible loss of quality or access to the extra features I mentioned above. For those who will be using this with a device that has a USB-C port, it’ll be a non issue. All in all, I really like the Brio 500 and as my title suggests, it is more than adequate for my needs. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who spends any time in face-to-face virtual meetings or classrooms.

So many of us work from home now but often forget that having the right equipment matters, especially a strong webcam since that is how we are viewed everyday. The Logitech Brio 500 has been a really strong webcam and makes a good impression! PROS: - Unboxing and setup is a breeze! The only thing in the box is the camera with connected chord and the mount. Thats it! And the camera connects to the mount via a magnet so no hardware required. Just plug it into your computer and it’s that easy. - On that note, I really like the magnetic mount it has! Its easy to rotate the camera from side to side, up mount it if you want to show something random in your office, and its nice and sturdy. - The Camera connects simply with a USB-C connection. I like the future proof USB-C connection for it! - It is not essential to use the camera, but I highly recommend downloading the “LogiTune” app. It is on Windows and just an easy way to do software updates, change camera settings, and video quality. - The Brio 500 is designed elegantly! It is simple and clean but I really like the rounded style of it. - The Privacy shade on it is fantastic! Love the rotated dial, the ease of use, and how its rotates inside of the camera and is not large and clunky. - The camera quality is exceptional! It produces a really clear image and the auto light adjustments because it makes the image look great during any time of the day or lighting in my room. - The Ultra Wide field of view is great too! The LogiTune software lets you change the zoom and angle placement if needed but overall I like the wider range so the camera is not so zoomed on my face. - The camera also has “RightSight” which will auto frame where ever you are sitting to the center of the frame. It’s a nice feature and has worked well for me, plus you can change how far it zooms out when it pans or how fast it pans too. - The Microphones are also an excellent feature! The people on my calls say I sound really crisp and that any background noise of my dogs barking is muted when I talk. - Lastly, I love how the Brio 500 is certified for Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams! Covers all of the heavy hitters in the work realm. CONS: - The “Show Mode” hinge on my Brio 500 can present some issues. Since the hinge is stiff, it requires some force to tilt it down. But since the camera is attached to the hinge via magnets, sometimes the camera just pops off instead of the hinge moving. I like the idea, but it is hit or miss for me so far. - This camera does have HDR but does not have 4K. I know not everything supports 4K but it would be a nice future proof feature to add. It is also only 4 megapixels and would have been nice to be something more like 8-10 MP. - Lastly, there is no Windows Hello support for Face Recognition login. I feel like that should be standard on these cameras! BOTTOM LINE: - Looking good in video calls is important to make a good impression in the work from home era, and the Logitech Brio 500 has made me look the best I have on calls! It is packed with high end camera features, is very simple to use, and has Microphones that focus on your voice and nothing in the background. The Brio 500 is an easy choice to make for Webcams and will be used by me every day at work!

What’s great about this device is it’s super minimal. Out of the box you have the camera unit, cable and mounting component. It’s super easy to setup and get connected. I downloaded the Logi Tunes app, updated the camera and was ready to get my Zoom on! The company I work for uses Zoom and I was pleasantly surprised with how easily it connected. The picture was clear and everyone told me they understood what I was saying. Honestly, what more can you ask? It does its job and it does it well! I keep my window blinds open to let in natural sunlight and this camera did a great job adjusting the picture to minimize the glare I normally have from my laptop cam. A welcomed improvement! Even though my company has Zoomed for 2 years, I feel like I’m moving up in the video conference world. I really dig that this has a built-in privacy shutter. You slide it up/down to activate the camera. There was a moment I had to get off screen during a meeting, and I was able to flip the privacy shutter down and mute no problem. This camera is a USB-C connection to your computer. I know this is the future and many businesses are moving toward that; however, I think this limits the customer. Those that have older computers won’t be able use it. The cord is only 5 feet, which seems like a big distance for a cord. However, it really isn’t. I have a dual-monitor setup and had to readjust where the screens were so the cord would reach the floor where it’s plugged in. Pros People reported my mic was very clear Privacy shutter Downloadable app Computer mount does the job! Logi Tunes 1080P quality Auto light correction auto-framing Dual Noise reduction microphones Facial Tracking with app (still in beta) Cons USB-C Short Cable from Show Mode – ability to tilt the camera down so that it can view your keyboard Overall: This can be great depending on what you hope to get out of it. Many people are still working remotely due to the pandemic, so this device an be right up your alley. Consider your needs and really look at different options, there are plenty of cheaper options that pack a better punch.

Needing to be on camera for work isn’t my favorite; this camera proves that I have a face for radio. TL;DR for my frequent readers and details below. Good: USB-C Built in privacy lens cover Magnetic connection to mount Software (G Hub & Logi Tune) Camera rotation when pointing down Meh: USB-C (yes, both good and Meh) Cable location on camera 2 pieces of software needed Bad: Nothing I came across Arriving in a compact box as expected, having ordered a few of the C920S cameras from Logitech in the past, it was a cinch to get it ready to install. With this camera, the mount to the monitor has a tape you can use to keep it stationary but I elected to not use it. It’s also held on with a magnet, vs being all one piece. When going to hook it up to my computer, I see a USB-C connector which in theory is great, but I don’t have any USB-C ports open; my extra USB-C port is an extender adding more USB-A ports for accessories like my mouse & keyboard. Luckily I had a USB-C to USB-A adapter and plugged that in & got up and running. Turning the right cap of the camera backward, uncovers the camera and doing the opposite allows for video privacy. I found that the camera has the cable going right out the back in the middle, which interferes with my top monitor (see pic), so I had to shift it to the side; not optimal but not horrible. Neither Logitech Options or Options+ showed the Webcam, so I needed to install G-Hub on my MacBook Pro. Once installed, it said I didn’t have any firmware updates needed for the camera and I found that odd, but I went with it. I was able to adjust how wide / zoomed in the camera should be & it even had some not-really-useful filters (B&W, “zombie” and a few others). I stuck with the widest view & a Normal filter and it seemed good for me. Off to the features that make this a reason to buy … the camera flips when pointing down from the monitor to display things on your desk & the ability to track / re-center you when you move. Right off the bat, tilting the camera down showed things right-side up vs upside down and that’s pretty slick (see pic). If I need to show something, I don’t have to take the camera down, string the cable and show it straight on, I can just tilt the camera and get the same type of result! Next was the tracking and boy I had no idea what it was supposed to do or look like. Instructions said that if you’re using Zoom, to turn off background blurring and you should be good to go – except I wasn’t. Then, I found ANOTHER piece of software has to be installed: LogiTune. Once LogiTune was installed, it saw my Brio 500, however it told me that I had a firmware update! Seems like G Hub and LogiTune aren’t in sync - but the update was applied and I found “RightSight” - the software that adjusts and tracks you if you are … moving, shifting your body weight or sliding around in your chair. Things like default field of view (wide), Zoom, Image adjustments (focus/exposure/HDR), Show Mode (which worked without the software / tilting to show your desktop) and the LED light telling you that the camera is on, are all readily available in LogiTune. With a few extra pieces of software, you get a camera that has some great features and a price that I don’t consider “premium.” Recommended? Yes!

A simple to use webcam with great features

With today’s world being more remote, it’s always important to look your best whether it’s for work or parent-teacher conferences for the kids. The Logitech Brio 500 Webcam is the tool that can help you do just that. To make things even better, there isn’t a ton of setup needed to get you to that point either. Upon opening the box, I found the webcam with attached cable, the mounting clip, user documentation, and instructions on the top of the cover. I took the webcam out and plugged it right into my USB-C and it began to set itself up. From there, I downloaded the Logi Tune app to see what it had to offer. The Logi Tune app gives you plenty of options to fine tune your appearance as well as have some fun when on camera with the various filters. My first test was to use the Logitech Brio 500 Webcam in very low light. Since I have some poorly lit rooms in my house, I was really curious how it would perform. By default, it was pretty good, but then adjusting the brightness, contrast, and using a filter really made the picture pop. It was quite impressive. From there, I wanted to see how the sound performed while on a call. The friends that I worked with said they could hear me just fine over the TV that I had on in the background. It’s good to know that the dual noise reduction microphones work well when there’s noise near you. Now, let’s focus on a few of the special features that really impressed me. The first is in beta, but I look forward to seeing it in its final release state. RightSight sets the webcam in a mode to auto-frame and center on you while you are moving around. I have a sit-stand desk and I do tend to move around when standing so I am very happy with that. The second feature that I really liked was the privacy cover. By just spinning the dial on the right side, I can easily open or close the cover. Considering some webcams don’t have a cover or have one that you slide, I much prefer this because I can clearly see whether it’s opened or closed. Lastly, the Show Mode allows me to easily adjust the camera to tilt down and show off what’s on my desk. The fact that I can easily adjust the webcam on the fly is great. Throughout the course of my time, I have used three different Logitech webcams for various reasons. They have definitely gotten better with each iteration and the Logitech Brio 500 Webcam is one of the best ones yet. I look forward to using it on more meetings and during online gatherings with friends near and far.

This mounted camera is definitely an upgrade for my work space. Working for a global company with facilities across the world has made video calls an every day thing, so having a good webcam is an absolute must for me, I just hadn't gotten around to trying anything different. I've gravitated towards Logitech for a variety of things including keyboards, mice, and speakers in the past and always loved the quality of the products. Right out of the box, this comes already put together with an adhesive strip to mount to the screen. The privacy screen is closed, turn the knob on the side to open and reveal the lens. Plug the webcam USB C cord into your computer then download the software and you are ready for your next meeting! I would have to say that the best feature of this is the RightSight auto-framing. Toggle this option in the software and the webcam will focus on you even if you are moving around. This feature is amazingly accurate! It struggled a little in really low lighting, but that is to be expected. There are several other features and filters to apply to provide the desired lighting, color, sharpness, etc. When I'm not working in the finance world, you can find me at home with my hobbies in various arts and crafts. With the Show Mode on and having the webcam tilted downward to the desk, the camera will flip the camera to present the items on your desk like a sketch or blueprint. Tilt back up and the camera flips back upright to return to you. Though I'll use this option more for my personal hobbies, this was helpful for my co-workers to see a reference sheet that I had on hand that related to our discussion without having to run to a scanner to email to everyone in the meeting. High quality resolution that promotes a professional image and makes virtual conversation feel iterative and lifelike (or so one of my co-workers said when asking what new camera I was using). Sound and mic are decent, none of my co-workers seemed to be able to hear things going on around me like they usually would if I wasn't wearing a headset. The sound never cut out while another was talking over me or me talking over them as if I was wearing a headset. Overall I am very satisfied with the quality of this product and would recommend it.

    ## Setup It’s important to note that the built-in cord for the Brio 500 webcam is USB-C. If your computer has a standard USB-A (rectangular) port, you’ll need to use a USB-C to USB-A adapter (not included). And if you’re purchasing an adapter, make sure it supports both power and video (data), as some adapters only support power. The Logitech Brio 500 comes with a monitor mount that’s meant for thin laptop or LCD monitors. The mount has a reusable microsuction pad that can be made sticky again with a little mild soap and water. The webcam itself attaches magnetically to the mount, making it easy to mount and unmount quickly. The dial on the side of the webcam can be turned to engage the privacy cover for times when you want to be sure the webcam is off. If your work computer is locked down like mine, you probably won’t be able to install the Logi Tune software. The Tune software allows for some advanced features, such as “RightSight” which can track your face and frame you in the center of the picture. It also aggregates your meeting links into the software. However, the webcam can still perform its basic functions without admin rights. The one thing that bugs me is that the webcam has a speckled design that keeps making me think it is dusty. ## Performance The issue with many web cams I’ve used is that they do not have a wide-angled lens, so my face appears zoomed in, focused on my nostrils. Thankfully, the Logitech Brio 500 is more zoomed out, so even if the webcam is within a few feet of me, I still appear to be sitting back from it and I don’t appear so close. The webcam performs well for calls and seems to keep my face well lit and focused in situations where my laptop’s built-in camera fails. I also like the physical privacy cover that is easy to flip up when I’m done and it’s a light gray color and is easy to see when it is engaged. ## Overall The Logitech Brio 500 has a wide-angled lens and does a very good job keeping my face focused, handling varying lighting conditions well. It’s important to note that the attached cable is USB-C and an “regular” USB-A adapter is not included with the unit. The physical privacy cover is easy to use and easily visible when engaged.

The Logitech Brio 500 is good web camera with some unique features that can up your game when it comes to your next Teams meeting or video chat. The physical camera and boxing come in a carbon neutral packaging if you care about that sort of thing and the camera itself appears to be made of recycled plastic, since it has little imperfection flakes in it. Resolution on the camera is 1080P at 30 FPS, but if you lower it down to 720P, you can get 60 FPS and it has a 4 MP camera sensor. The camera connects to the pc via a USB Type C connector and the cable is a bit short in my opinion at about 4 feet or so. Installation was very easy and if you install the Logitech Tune software, you can change the settings on the device and explore the multiple features it offers. The main feature is what Logitech calls Rightsight and it currently is in Beta mode and can track your movements around the room and the camera will keep you focused. I found this to be a neat feature and it works pretty well, but you do notice some digital artifacts when it moves at times, and I look forward to the full version being even better. Show mode, is another big feature, this mode allows you to flip the camera straight down (assuming its mounts on the top of your monitor) and focus on something you want to present on your desktop. It will auto adjust the image so that it is oriented correctly for your audience. The software also includes settings to adjust your lighting, zoom, field of view (90/78/65), a wide range of preset filters such as Bright, blossom, film, etc. There are also the expected settings for color balance, tone, etc. that is in there. However, I found that the camera was able to self-adjust the light to be just about perfect no matter what situation I was in thanks to the RightLight 4 technology that this camera has. Video and sound are very good on this camera. The dual microphones that are built in have noise reduction properties that can help drown out the background noise. I did test this out with my two young kids in the background and it was able to suppress them a great deal, but the other party could still hear them, not perfect, but really good in my opinion. Using this camera during your video meetings will definitely give you the professional look and sound and make your fellow attendees jealous as you confidently walk around the room while being framed in the shot and sound great!

I can honestly say that this is the best webcam I have ever used. The quality is unlike any that I have ever owned, including several Logitech webcams. I love that the box is easy to open, versus previous models that had way too much packaging. It is easy and minimalist, which is better for the environment. The camera itself immediately feels sturdy and high end, right out of the box. It includes a mount for your monitor or laptop that snaps in via magnet and easily adjusts to your device. I loved how easy this was and took absolutely no effort. My favorite feature is the privacy cover that allows you to simply rotate the side and cover/uncover. I then plugged it in via the USB type C connection and it was ready to go. The performance of this webcam was amazing. The first thing I did was open my camera application on my laptop and checked out the image quality. It was spectacular, especially given the fact that it was in a low light situation. I then clicked the HDR button on the application and the picture quality got even more sharp and clear. I was very impressed. I then setup a video call using Google Meet. The picture quality remained outstanding and the built in microphone was crystal clear. The user on the other end even commented on how great I looked and sounded. I can easily say that this webcam is a must have for anyone who actively engages in any type of conference calls or web meetings. The image quality and audio quality is excellent. I do not have any cons at all for this webcam. I love it!

Video conferencing is a part of every workday for me and my laptop’s built-in camera was just adequate. My co-workers immediately commented on how clear the video was on the first call I made with the Brio 500! The field of view, brightness, and clarity are excellent. Sound quality and volume are also very good. That would have been enough for me to like this camera, but I also love the design. I have owned a lot of Logitech products and use many of them every day; they have all been reliable and solid - this camera is no different. The mount had no trouble adjusting to both my monitor at work and at home with no movement after I had it setup. The mount allows you to flip the camera down to show your work surface or a document - pretty useful for a quickly sketching something out in real-time (the movement to tilt the camera down is a little stiff, but I prefer that over it being too loose). The body of the camera looks good, and the matte gray color is a welcome change from the gloss black / chrome combination that many cameras have. The camera has a privacy shield that is well hidden and easy to flip down. It also has an indicator light to let you know when your video is on. The Logi Tune software is easy to use - allowing you to quickly toggle features on/off and make adjustments while previewing the image. The only issue I had was that my computer’s dock blocks the one USB-C port on my old computer, meaning I needed to purchase a USB-C (female) to USB-A adapter to connect the camera (a cheap fix).

Nice but pricey refresh of the 1080p line

Ever since the pandemic, Logitech has seemingly dominated the webcam market. Other than the Brio, and a few outliers, they haven’t really given us a new “basic” 1080p webcam in a while. Finally, the Brio. I’ll be honest, I was happy with my C920 1080p series Logitech, but I became more frustrated with the inability to adjust the image. I was stuck with what I had. The newer programs, like Logi Tunes, that works with the Brio 500 just weren’t compatible. Bottom line is, if you’re in need of a new webcam from a trusted brand, this is one to look at. But don’t expect major improvements over other (non 4K) webcams. Yes, low light and HDR performance is nice, but I find those rarely translate well over video conferencing. My biggest complaint is the absolute tragedy of having too short of a USB-C cable. I’m all for new peripherals moving to USB-C, even though my desktop only has one such port, but I can not stand these short cables. For laptops they’re fine, but if you have a large monitor and a desktop that sits under a desk, forget about it. It won’t be long enough. Which undoubtedly requires an extension cable. In the box you get the camera and mount. That’s it. The camera has a magnet in it that sticks into the mount. You can tilt the mount all the way down so the camera faces your desk. This doesn’ fit into my line of work, but I can see someone else finding it useful. The mount has an adhesive pad to help it stick in place, which I don’t use, but, I can see if being nice for some people who adhere to a stick protocol in the setup of their video conference room. The stand is similar to every other Logitech stand in that it sits on top of the monitor, and has an arm that extends backwards and rests on the backside of the monitor. It’s easy to turn the camera left and right or tilt it down. The privacy lens is a nice feature. Older Logitech cameras had privacy lenses that you could snap on and off, and while I never lost mine, I like it being built directly into the camera itself. It might be one of the reasons why the camera itself is so big, but it’s simple to use the privacy cover and there’s no mistaking when you are using it (there’s a shield in front of the lens). Plugging in the camera is really all you need to do. It should work just fine. I found the performance to be pretty good, especially in low light settings or at least settings where I had a lot of shadows on my face because of the positioning of the sun and my window. I’m the guy that always insists on the highest image quality, so Initially balked at 1080p at 30 FPS or 720p at 60 FPS. But honestly, the video looks great. I have to remind myself that everyone is watching the video streaming over the internet live and the resolution of the video feeds will be scaled down to save bandwidth. The Logi Tune software provides some adjustments. The software is ok, I like how it’s kind of hidden until you need it, it pops up on the bottom right of your screen for a video preview; it doesn’t take up all your screen real estate. There you can change the FOV, zoom settings, and other color/saturation/brightness settings. Honestly, I tried tweaking the settings, and other than FOV and zoom, I’d leave everything else on automatic. I thought the software/camera handled everything pretty well even if different light settings. CONCLUSION This is a welcome refresh to the Logitech webcam line. However, it’s much too expensive. It’s not worth buying just to upgrade, but if you are in the market for a webcam that has versatility, this is one to look at. The Logitech software will allow you to make basically all the adjustments you’d ever need and it’s easy to navigate. The privacy lens is also a big bonus as there can be no mistake when your camera is on or off.

It's ok and most likely you won't find a better product unless you either buy a better logitech cam or some other fancy overpriced brand, as the webcam market has almost no competition. This can be seen by the fact that their webcams have stayed the same for so long without any major improvements. It's built well, easy to use, and reliable.

The quality of this camera is a huge upgrade from my webcam on my laptop. I have very low light in my bedroom and this shows true colors and brightens my face up. My patient stated that my new camera has excellent clarity. I do seem to have issues where my settings I did on the computer do not seem to be carrying over to my zoom sessions but that could be an issue with zoom or an ignorant user who is not tech savvy. My primary use for this camera is zoom sessions for work. I have to use it for up close portrait work but also have to step back to demonstrate full body exercises in stand and on the floor. I don't have to adjust it at all when changing positions which is a huge bonus compared to how I was managing before.

I'm just going to get the bad part out of the way first. This thing requires an app. A Logitech app, to be exact. It's called Logi Tune, and if you have had any newer Logitech headphones in recent times, you know about it. Granted, that's not too much of an issue, as I'm sure you've got the space for it on your PC, tablet or Chromebook. Once it's downloaded and installed, you're on your way streaming glory. It does all the things you'll require from a great webcam. Great HD visuals for all of your Zoom meetings. Facial tracking for those times when you need to physically express yourself and you want the camera to keep up. However, that is still in BETA. But it still works. The cylinder shape is really cool, because it makes it very portable. It also has a magnetic base that will securely attach itself to it's mount. Leaving you ultra comfortable with the knowledge that it's there until you move it. Even if, for some ungodly reason, someone were to knock it off the monitor.( Yes, that happened to me.) It will stay affixed to the base. If you want to be more upclose, you can take the base off and affix it to a tripod and place it on your desk. There's a mode where you can angle the camera down and the picture will change to give the viewer an image from your perspective. This helps when yo're trying explain a product or even unbox something while going live.( All my content creators know what I'm talking about.) Once you're one, just flip the camera back up and it will go back to normal. On the side of the cylinder, is a knob that will give you privacy mode, by closing the lens cap. Beind a little hardheaded, it took me s few moments to figure that out, rather than reading the instructions like a smart person should. I feel like this is 5 star product, but the need for an app drops the score, but is by no means a deal breaker. I totally recommend this webcam to streamers, students and office workers alike.
