The crayon that writes like a pencil
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech Crayon is compatible with my iPad 11. Since it’s Bluetooth enable, setting up the crayon is a breeze. If you currently own an Apple Pencil, you will not be able to use both the pencil and crayon on the same device. I would recommend the crayon based on cost and it’s compatibility to the iPad.

A cheaper price for the same function!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am loving this Logitech Crayon so much! I think it has the same purpose and overall function with Apple Pencil, but minus the pricey pricetag. Bought it alongside with my iPad Air 5th Gen and Logitech keyboard case. Powerful combo!

Great Alternative to an Apple Pencil
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the new Logitech Crayon Gen 2. This is a digital stylus for your iPad Pro and other iPad models. It comes in a tasteful silver finish that resembles Apples original iPad color, and also goes nicely with any of the new colors as well. Like the first Logitech Crayon, this still has the same flat shape that is great to prevent it from rolling off your desk. I also find it very comfortable to hold as it fills your hand a bit more than a typical round pencil. It has an on / off toggle that is much nicer than the originals push and hold button. It’s quicker to turn on and off and the red line that shows in the off positions let’s you know it’s truest off. This is also a nice touch as it resembles Apples red lined silent switch on the iPhone. It has 3 LEDs for your battery life, and two minutes of charge will give 30 minutes of power and 70 minutes to full charge, which so far has lasted me the week using a couple hours a day. One of the other biggest improvements is USB type C charging. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a cable but as all new iPads currently on sale other than the 9th gen original are all Type C so more than likely you already have a cable that’ll work. This Crayon does everything the Apple Pencil does with the exception of pressure sensitivity. If you’re really into art I’d recommend you get an Apple Pencil. If you just doodle, use coloring book apps, write and take notes, on occasion take notes things like that this does just as good as Apple Pencil. The writing experience with this is just as fluid as with an Apple Pencil with very little input lag and the way it feels as I use it. I love they have tilt sensitivity if the tool tip in question has that function. It does have a very nice response time on par with that of the Apple Pencil App no issues and this is a good addition to anybody who doesn’t wanna go out and spend $100 on a nice stylus.

Decent Alternative to Apple Pencil
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using the Apple Pencil with my iPad Pro for the last couple of years but wanted a second option to keep at home or in case I lose the Apple Pencil. The Logitech Crayon is a pretty good alternative, but it's missing some features that make the Apple Pencil so convenient. === PROS === - The Logitech Crayon writes and draws almost identically to the Apple Pencil. The feel of the tip is very similar. Like the Apple Pencil, you can adjust line thickness by tilting the Logitech Crayon so that more of the tip touches the iPad screen. - Once paired with your iPad, the Logitech Crayon syncs instantly once it's turned on. There is a convenient power switch at the top to turn the Crayon off or on. - Battery life is very good. Logitech says you'll get 6.5 hours of writing/drawing time on a full charge, and that seems accurate to me so far. - I actually find myself preferring the size and texture of the Logitech Crayon over the Apple Pencil. The Apple Pencil is smooth and skinny, which can sometimes make it feel slippery or hard to hold. The Logitech Crayon has a a brushed metal texture which allows for a better grip in some cases. It also feels thicker and more substantial. The downside is that it's a bit heavier than the Pencil, so your hand might get tired more quickly. === CONS === - If you have an iPad Pro, you cannot charge the Logitech Crayon via magnetic connection to the side of your iPad. In fact, there's really nowhere to store the Logitech Crayon if you have an iPad Pro. Logitech has Combo Touch and Slim Folio cases for the 10th gen iPad with a strap that holds the Crayon in place. Otherwise, you'll just have to toss the Crayon into your bag with the rest of your accessories. - Charging the Crayon with a USB-C cable feels a bit awkward after having used the second generation Apple Pencil. It's just one more thing you have to remember to charge once in a while. With the Apple Pencil, you never have to think about it's charge level since it charges every time you attach it to your iPad Pro. - The Logitech Crayon does not appear in the batteries widget on iPadOS, so you will have to rely on the three LEDs at the top of the Crayon to determine its battery charge level. - The Crayon does not work very well with the new "hover" feature of the M2 iPad Pros. I don't see the "hover" effect kick in until I'm about 2 millimeters away from the screen, which sort of defeats the purpose. === OVERALL === If you have a newer iPad Pro, I would probably stick with the Apple Pencil that attaches magnetically to the side of your iPad. The Logitech Crayon works perfectly with my iPad Pro, but it's not as seamless of an experience compared to the Apple Pencil. If you have a new 10th generation iPad, this is probably a much better choice than the first generation Apple Pencil that you have to use an adapter to charge. It would be even better paired with one of Logitech's cases that can hold the Crayon in place.

A comfortable & accurate digital pencil for iPad
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Crayon for my wife to use with her iPad Pro and she loves it. Just as advertised, it connected with the iPad immediately and was ready to use with no setup at all. She already had a Logitech Folio (keyboard) case which has been great, so choosing Logitech again was easy. The Crayon is lightweight, and the flat design is very comfortable to use for hours writing and drawing. It also doesn't roll, so it stays were you put it down. It has 3 easy to read LEDs that indicate how much battery is left and the stated 6.5hrs of use is accurate. It goes to sleep to save battery but wakes up as soon as you pick it up again and it has a simple on/off switch when you are done using it. It charges quickly with a USB-C charger (~45min), but my wife was a little disappointed that you can't use it and charge at the same time since it doesn't require (or have) inductive charging. She has been using it with a Paperlike screen protector on her iPad and it worked well with her go-to apps (Good Notes and Procreate). The tip is not pressure sensitive, but the tilt tip feature worked great in Procreate for shading (once you get the hang of it). Tilting the tip did not work to change the line size in Good Notes for some reason, but that is not a deal breaker. Overall, drawing and handwriting were smooth and accurate in every app with no gaps or lag.

Great digital pencil (minus pressure sensitivity)
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Crayon does everything it says it does well. It’s a good, slightly more affordable offering to take advantage of Apple’s active stylus technology and palm rejection that’s built into modern iPads, with exactly one big caveat: No Pressure Sensitivity. It does everything else very well, including responsive and accurate strokes that appear without any percevable lag, while also offering some unique perks: 1. Simple USB-C charging - It’s USB-C port is ready to charge with your existing cables without odd adaptors or lost caps. 2. Aluminum body - It also sports a nice, and likely durable, aluminum body. I assume this could help in longevity if using in a school or shared environment. 3. Battery indicator - The battery indicator lights are also a welcome way to know when you’re low on power, something that the main competitor tends to forget to tell you before you’re completely out of battery. Not Really for Drawing: Logitech doesn’t market this for drawing, and probably for good reason. The Crayon is best for marking up documents, getting precision when you want it, and other drawing-adjacent activities. That said, It’s certainly suitable for sketching up an idea that doesn’t require attention to line stroke, but I wouldn’t call that drawing. They did include tilt-recognition that can allow you to trigger a thickened stroke when held at an angle, but this isn’t a replacement for pressure sensitivity, IMO. When drawing or learning to draw, I’d definitely recommend a stylus that provides this ability. Overview: Logitech provides a great offering here, as long as you don’t intend to draw creatively. This new-generation Crayon is nicely made, compact, and ready to do accurate mark-up on your iPad.

Nice weighted pencil
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Logitech pencil is probably the nicest iPad pen I have. It has an aluminum body, and the fat flat shape makes it really comfortable to hold. It’s a bit meatier than I’m used to, but I actually prefer how that feels. The metal is feels smooth and makes it a joy to hold. The pencil sets up almost effortlessly. You simply connect the USB-C cord to the lightning port on your iPad and it instantly connects. I haven’t had any issues with the device disconnecting, and the pen has an off and on toggle switch that you can use. The switch also has a battery display gauge, which is really useful. Oddly, my son has been stealing this pencil from me over my other one. He says it’s much easier for him to hold, and I can see that because of the shape. If you have little ones in mind, I think you’ll find the shape of this pencil to be a bit more kid friendly. Overall, really happy with the pen. It looks nice, feels nice, and does exactly what it’s supposed to. The battery life seems to be true to advertised as well.

prefer over Apple Pencil
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find this Logitech Crayon easier to use than the Apple Pencil Pro. (I don't do detailed drawing). It doesn't roll off the i-pad or table--stays where you place it! USB-C charging and holds charge longer. It can be turned off when not in use. Three visible red dots indicate the charge level. Unfortunately, BB only has grey color. No special actions needed to use it. Recognized by iPad as soon as it's turned on. It does not fit magnetically on the iPad as does the Apple pencil. The price is much less also!

Excellent!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my wife after she lost her Apple Pencil, and Best Buy was out of stock in store of the Gen 1 version, and honestly this thing is awesome! I do like that it can be turned off when not in use to conserve battery life, and it feels very nice to write with on the iPad. It’s cheaper too! I’d definitely recommend this if you want a cheaper option that functions just as well as the Apple Pencil.

A fun and pro-quality drawing device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech Crayon (circa 2022) is a nice-in-the-hand product for amateur and professional digital artists. Marketed proudly as being "pixel-precise" and "versatile", my opinion is both are true. It uses Apple Pencil technology, so no special software is required. However, you do have to disassociate one device from the other if you happen to use the Crayon AND the Apple Pencil. Not a big deal to me, but confusing during my first use set-up. Note that the manufacturer states the Crayon works on all iPads from 2018 on. Mine charges with a USB-C port. More specs before getting into the review- while there's an on/off switch and LED indicators, the product does go into battery-saving "idle mode" after 5 minutes of inactivity. The three LEDs indicate both battery remaining during use and charge status when being charged. I got around 6.5 hours of active time when drawing or writing. The manufacturer says you may get up to 7. It charges quickly via the cable. The flattened elliptical sectional shape of the aluminum body feels nice in the hand, and is nicely balanced and weighted. The tip is plastic (of course!) and replaceable. Ok, the important stuff. Yes, you can use it for writing and navigation on your iPad. Depending on the app, you might get to enjoy some flair in your handwriting- as in varying thickness based on pressure and/or angle of the Crayon. This carries into the artistic uses. Tilting the Crayon adjusts the weight (width) of your lines or brushing, depending on the virtual instrument you've selected in your drawing app. I found it to feel and produce my intended results quite naturally. I'm a big fan of watercolor and chalk drawing and this was really enjoyable with the Crayon. Oh, and yes, palm rejection is also a feature. If you haven't figured out by now, I like this product from Logitech. Good feel, nice results.
