I recently got my hands on the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, a 16-inch gaming laptop that stands out in the crowded market with its impressive specifications and solid build quality. The laptop features a 165Hz Full HD display, which is perfect for gamers seeking smooth and immersive visuals. Powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor, it comes with 16GB of DDR5 memory and a Radeon RX7600S graphics card, ensuring top-notch performance for modern gaming titles and multitasking. The sleek OFF BLACK design adds a professional touch, while the robust build promises durability. The keyboard is backlit and provides a satisfying tactile response, making it ideal for gaming in low-light environments. The 512GB PCIe SSD offers fast load times and quick boot-ups, though it might feel limited for users with extensive game libraries, necessitating additional storage solutions. Performance-wise, the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 excels, handling multiple applications and games simultaneously without lag. The high refresh rate of the display significantly enhances the gaming experience, delivering smooth and fluid visuals crucial for fast-paced games. The cooling system is another strong point, efficiently managing heat even during intense gaming sessions, with relatively quiet fans preventing thermal throttling. However, like many gaming laptops, the battery life is a bit of a letdown, as it drains quickly under heavy gaming loads, making it best to stay plugged in for extended sessions. Despite its powerful hardware, the laptop remains relatively portable, with a well-balanced weight that makes it easy to carry around. In summary, the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 is a superb choice for gamers seeking a powerful, reliable, and stylish laptop, though potential buyers should consider additional storage and be prepared for frequent charging during long gaming experience.

I used this laptop all through college, and I loved it! It was super reliable and had everything I needed. Long-Lasting Battery: The battery life was one of the best parts. On eco mode, it lasted 8-10 hours, which was perfect for long school days without needing to charge all the time. Great for Gaming: I’m not a big gamer, but I played Rocket League on it, and it worked great! The laptop had good enough specs to run the game smoothly, which made it a lot of fun. Perfect for School: It was amazing for taking notes, working on assignments, and watching videos. Even when I had a lot of things open at once, it ran without any problems. Worth Every Penny: The price was super reasonable for what you get. It’s a powerful, dependable laptop that doesn’t cost too much, which made it a great choice for me as a student. If you want a laptop that can handle school, gaming, and everyday stuff, this one is a great pick. I’d recommend it to anyone!

Superb laptop for the price! Stock specs are as follow OS: Windows 11 Home Processor/CPU: Ryzen 7 7735HS Graphics Card/GPU: Radeon RX7600S (8GB VRAM) RAM: 2 x 8GB DDR5 SODIMM (16GB total) SSD: one 2280 500GB SSD, WD SN740 It has 2 ssd slots which can be upgraded for more storage space, the ram is upgradeable as well, up to 32GB (2 x 16GB SODIMM sticks) i put a 2TB Samsung 990 pro ssd on the second ssd slot, and the RAM i upgraded with 2 x 16GB 4800MHz Corsair sticks. The CPU and GPU are, as expected on most laptops, soldered into the motherboard and are not upgradeable, which is fine since both are fairly powerful (the Ryzen 7 7735HS is comparable to a RTX 4060 laptop GPU) General use: This laptop is speedy and quick while browsing and watching videos, no issues at all! Gaming: So the main reason i got this was to game, and it does it very well! Plugged in and at full power (Turbo), almost every single game i have ran at high/ultra settings at either the laptop screen's 1200p resolution or if like me at 1080p on a external monitor. Recent popular games like Baldurs Gate 3, GTA 5, Fortnite and CoD all run at ultra/high settings at a solid 60 fps. Some recent games you can run beyond 60fps, but i personally always prefer to lock it at 60fps. MMO's, like WoW and FF14 can easily run at a locked 60fps, or 120fps in most of the game! The fans do get a bit loud when running at full power (think a soft hum) but if you wear headphones it's barely noticeable. The system has the Armory Core app, from which you can adjust the amount of power you want (Silent, Performance and Turbo) and the fan curves as well. Screen: The screen is 1920x1200, you can choose between 60Hz or 165Hz refresh rate. The colors are nice and playing in a bright or dark room is excellent, and has no glaring. my only gripe is that the screen is not super bright, but it's serviceable. i personally play on a 1080p monitor and i have not had any issues! it also has a 720p webcam on top. Keyboard: The keyboard is serviceable, it has white lights underneath (No RGB) which can be adjusted to 3 levels or brightness. It's silent and responsive, even though i mainly play with a controller and use a external keyboard, the main keyboard has no issues either! IO/Ports: On the left side it has the charger port, Ethernet port, HDMI 2.1 port, 2 USB-C ports (1 has 40GB protocol), and 1 USB port. On the right side it has only 1 USB port. i have not has any issues with any of the ports, a personal nick pick i have is that the charging cable itself has a odd L shape instead of a normal straight one, but it works well and i have not had any issues with it. Laptop shell: The laptop shell itself is made of plastic, but it feels premium and nice. My only gripe with it is that, because is has a matte finish, it fingerprints and smudges super easy, but it can be cleaned with any microfiber cloth no problem! Final thoughts: This is a great and superb laptop that will reasonably handle almost anything you throw at it, this is definitely a 1080p/1200p gaming machine, anything beyond that resolution will struggle a bit, i recommend getting a fan/cooling laptop pad to keep it nice and cool while gaming for hours! The performance is incredible and stable! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gaming laptop that won't break the bank but has reasonable and great performance for current gen games!

I was actually really disappointed when I first booted up the computer. The display seemed washed out, text was difficult to read, and the trackpad was weird--jittery in some strange way. After installing Fedora, though, it was like a totally different computer, and now I'm really loving it. I haven't had any overheating problems yet, but I also don't play very demanding games. I think this computer is a pretty awesome deal---and it's lightweight enough that I could actually take it to work (I especially appreciate that it doesn't look like a flashy gaming computer). Nvidia is much more omnipresent in gaming laptops, but Nvidia doesn't play nice with Linux (I tried), so I couldn't be more grateful that this product exits. I'm pretty impressed with the battery life too, although of course it's nothing like an ultraportable. I only wish the keyboard had a snappier bounce.

Good mid range gaming laptop with a great display

I was looking for a good mid range gaming laptop for my son for Christmas when I discovered this one on sale for black friday. For the price of $749 I feel that it is a good deal. You get a good AMD CPU and GPU which can run the latest games well on it's 1200p screen. It comes with an acceptable amount of RAM, 16gb, which is upgradeable if you wish. Many other laptops at this price point skimp out and only have 8gb of RAM. It does only come with a 512gb ssd which is the norm for pc's like this, but it does have a second m.2 slot for you to add more memory. The screen is backlit and feels good to type and game on, good key travel, but there is no rgb lighting, only white. The battery life is very good when using the pc for web browsing, email, school work, etc. as it automatically turns off the gpu when not needed. If you want to play games you will want to have the charging cable plugged in as it only will last under 2 hours on battery power. One of the best things about this laptop is the screen, it was the final selling point for me when comparing it to others in store. I highly recommend comparing laptops in store if possible so you can see the build and screen quality. I found that this Asus TUF book has a better screen than it's competitors in the same price range, something very important if you are going to be playing games on it as what's the point of great hardware if the screen is only mediocre? The colors pop and the resolution is good for the screen size, 1200p as opposed to 1080p on many other laptops. One last recommendation is to update the drivers for the GPU to make sure the laptop is running at it's best when you start it up for the first time.

Works well for playing any games does get hot but I was told this is normal for AMD setups Battery doesn’t last too long while doing work so keeping the charger close is smart. The only real issue I had is the display has a couple light spots but I believe that is expected with these panels and really isn’t distracting unless you are in a dark room trying to look at a very dark image.

I actually bought TWO of these, after tons and tons of research. They came out on top for us in terms of everything we needed for gaming, and I was sold by the option of a payment plan and the fact that they can BE UPGRADED, which is so rare for laptops. My husband and my mother both love them and are so excited to play games on them. They run fast, graphics are gorgeous, and the inclusion of two different graphics cards mean the PC runs everything exactly how you need it to!

I bought this laptop for 730(before tax) and am pretty happy. Got this for a really good price. Good for gaming(60fps in quiet mode), if you need more fps, that laptop will give you that. Tekken 8 ultra, easy 60 fps, Like a Dragon: IW, easy more than 60fps, and don't forget, you always can use FSR 3.0, and that give you more more FPS. Some +: Really good battery for working 5-7 hours Love the screen size and that 16:10 aspect ratio Style of laptop Sound And good temperature control Some -: No sd card slot

I purchased this laptop for my daughter, so she will use it as her main laptop for school (MS Office, Emails etc), video editing (Adobe Premier \ Adobe After Effects) and gaming. I have added 2TB SSD, and will add more RAM later on. I loaded Adobe Premier and tried editing few test videos from GoPro, laptop can do it without any issues. The only drawback is 16GB of RAM. When Adobe Premier is loaded with project (which means added effects, transitions etc) I see only 1.5-2GB free. This is an easy fix, will add more RAM later on. What is nice, when launching Adobe Premier or After Effects, laptop is switching from build in video card to Radeon, when closing Adobe, it goes back to defaults. So far laptop has been stable, I did not see any issues with stability, overheating etc. For Web Browsing, Email and Word Documents battery life is very good ! Fans are quiet! For video editing\gaming - charger is required, which is ok :) For the price 814$ tax included, this is an amazing value with options to customize it later on with RAM and Second SSD. The only con is lower screen resolution, but for the price it is ok. For Video Edit - external monitor is a must, but for word\email\pdf - screen resolution is ok.

Love the build quality of this laptop! Very sturdy, feels great to touch. My personal favorite is the look of A16, it's black, and from the first look you can't tell that it is a gaming laptop. Performance is great! Love how laptop switches between internal and external GPUs depending on what are you working on. In normal use mode laptop is very quiet which is a great plus. Overall great choice in this price range! Highly recommend!

So far so good, I bought this for my son as his first gaming pc. For the price it’s great fps during game play are amazing for a laptop, battery life is okay when doing normal tasks such as surfing the web. The only two downsides I would say this laptop has is the hard drive is a bit small, and it gets really hot when gaming definitely want to get a stand to keep it elevated so the fans can suck in cool air. But overall amazing for the price. I paid about $820 after taxes.

It’s a fantastic gaming laptop for the price that I got it for, which was 749.99 before tax. Performance is spectacular on this thing. It’s comparable with my desktop setup that has Ryzen 9 3900x and a RTX 3070. Solidly built as well.

Was not sure if this laptop would work out for all my needs. I had an issue with another laptop and needed a replacement ASAP. I wanted a gaming laptop that also had long battery life while on the road working as a graphic artist/illustrator. It does the job very well for work. And Cyberpunk 2077 plays smooth. Also can use a high power usb c charger for road work as well. Can keep the power adapter at home.

This laptop is a serious competitor against prebuilt desktops. Performs as well as most pc’s i have built in the past. Like the fact its all AMD. I would say the only disappointing thing that is easily upgradeable is the preinstalled small 512GB ssd. You basically have about 450GB’s i downloaded 3 games and was almost out of storage space. That alone is keeping me from 5 stars cause theres nothing else to be disappointed about. I did end up buying a Samsung 990 nvme 2 TB ssd sonce you get another 4x4 ssd slot inside
