Great laptop for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop contains all the elements that I require: 8 MG RAM, 512 GB solid state drive, a keyboard number pad, touch screen, and, most important, a strong wifi card. I replaced my 6.5 year old HP laptop because the WiFi reception was spotty even after replaceing the WiFi card, so something was amiss in the wiring. Now, even with the laptop on a different floor than my router, the Internet is smooth and zoom calls no longer get slowed or dropped. So far, so good. This was a discounted item so it was a great laptop for the price.

Mostly good
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall mostly good, but sometimes the touchscreen freaks out and presses the corner of the screen until you touch it and fix it, and the touchpad gets stuck occasionally.

Bad speakers and touchscreen, but fine for work
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works fine for college work, but a couple of problems. When you use the touchscreen, sometimes it will make a couple lines across the screen appear. When watching videos with volume, the speakers will also make a cracking noise every 20-30 seconds. Also, at one time the bottom row of letters on the keyboard were just not responding at all in the middle of an in class writing assignment, even after restarting the laptop. They did eventually start working again though. So basically don't plan on using the touchscreen a lot or streaming videos on it because the speaker cracking is very annoying, but for basic work or school work it does the job.

So Far So Good!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been long overdue for a laptop upgrade and was thankfully able to snag this one on sale just under a month ago! My old HP decided to kick the bucket a few years ago, but I needed something strong enough to get me through my master's program. I'd been using an iPad up until recently, but with the introduction of new software needed for classes, it ended up being a bust as well. Four weeks into using the Inspiron 15 and everything is smooth sailing so far! The specs are more than enough for my work and school needs, while still allowing me to play a few games that don't require too much power during breaks. It's a nice, sizable laptop with a full keyboard and touch screen display (that I accidentally discovered since I didn't see that beforehand haha), but is travel friendly since it doesn't weigh much at all. The keyboard is nice to type on and I haven't had any issues with dropped inputs, or keys getting stuck while in use–an issue I've had previously with my old laptop. The trackpad is smooth and easy to use, but is a bit sensitive if that's something you're worried about. So far, the battery has lasted me full 8 hour lecture/lab days without dying. I personally prefer to always keep power saver on and when I do, the laptop tends to be at around 54% by the time I leave. I only had two very minor issues with the laptop, neither of which were a deal-breaker. The fan was incredibly noisy upon start up (makes sense considering updates and the like) and during the first few uses. If a noisy fan isn't your cup of tea, there is a way to change the setting to quiet it down for less intensive use. My other quip is that the finish on the body picks up fingerprints like it's no one's business, but they can easily be wiped off with a microfiber cloth. Overall very happy with the product so far and can't wait to keep with it!

It's alright laptop when on sale.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for my mom as an early Christmas gift. After looking around for something that was budget friendly, I came across this lifesaver. The specs for this computer were pretty decent for the price at the time. Storage was more than enough since it is being used for internet games and the like. I would recommend this laptop for anyone looking for something that just gets the job done, but buy only on sale though. Dell has this nasty habit like most manufacturers by putting bloatware and other crap on their computers. Not needed at all. Slows everything down to a crawl. Uninstalled most of it myself. Also, the fan cooler for the processor runs pretty loud, even while just idling. Not sure why at the moment.

Overall, it was worth what i payed for it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for the purpose of doing research and occationally playing games with my sisters. Overall, its very good at that! The only reasons I'm giving this 4 stars and not five is because the fan does tend to get a little loud sometimes but that can be easily fixed by putting something like a pen under the back of the laptop to help circulate the air a bit more, after doing that the problem is fixed completely for me. The only other thing is that the battery doesn't last as long as my previous laptop but it still lasts quite a few hours.

Great laptop for a great price & cheap DIY upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good price and works well. Added another 8gb memory stick and it was the best and cheapest way to get 16gb memory for a good laptop at a great price.. Buying a 16gb laptop of this model would have cost a lot more than going the diy route. For only $19 for 8gb.. Good Specs with Good Price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fortunately, I was able to buy this laptop on sale, $330. I think this price is a good deal with the specs (Ryzen5 7530U, M.2 512 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM). You may feel the center of the keyboard is a bit too soft. Since my local store didn't display this model, I didn't have a chance to check this point. But it was not a big deal. I am getting used to type with this keyboard. I noticed that the memory usage became 80%-90% with some tasks. Then, an 8-GB memory was on sale in BestBuy ($19) so I added additional 8 GB. Taking out the bottom panel may be a bit tricky. Don't rush, use thin plastics (such as a used gift card) to take the panel out. Once you are able to open the bottom panel, it is easy to install a RAM (don't forget to disconnect the battery before the installation). The operation with 16-GB RAM is very comfortable. As a summary, I believe I did a nice pre-holiday shopping.
