    I've always felt that the printer manufacturers should just give us the printers since the ink that we have to use is ridiculously expensive...but such is the way of life. The printer works and the ink works.

    The HP 62 runs out of ink quite quickly, so the 62xl lasts much longer so you are not always running to the store. The person who sold us the printer at Best Buy told us to go with the XL previously.

    The HP representative at Best Buy suggested I purchase the extra large black since I print mostly black. I am anxious to see how long it lasts. I write the dates on the cartridge box to monitor.

    The XL cartridges are the way to go and using Genuine HP. I have tried several off brands and for printing photos, HP brand is best.

    The 62XL ink cartridge is a much better buy than the regular size as there is more than twice the ink inside. However, prices could still be better for this and all hp ink cartridges. I think the hp instant ink is probably cheaper, but I don't like the idea of giving "control" of my printer to someone else.
