What more can I say, it's a thermometer. This really helps take the guesswork out of cooking things up to temp, so no more opening and closing the grill or the oven every so often. It's a fantastic value compared to many other options out on the market that cost considerably more. It's very easy to setup and use. The App is informative and does great job at helping with getting your Beef products to the ideal doneness and temperature. It allows you to even choose what type of Beef you're cooking, be that a Strip steak, T-Bone, Ribeye etc. There's also options for Poultry, Pork and Turkey. You really can't go wrong with having something so handy and versatile in your kitchen. The Thermometer itself rests inside the Charging cradle and it holds it in there very firmly so it's not going to fall out and get lost. The cradle does use a battery to recharge the Thermometer. This is one place I could see room for improvement. It would have been nice to see the cradle have a USB-C port on it to allow the Thermometer to charge instead of having to rely on a battery that's only going to last for so long and have to be replaced. I suppose in order to get the price to an affordable point some compromises need to be made which are understandable. Hopefully in future versions this is something included by default. It really is a great product has certainly helped me in the kitchen and outdoors when I'm needing to get something cooked just perfect. Ninja once again giving us another excellent product.

Saved my steak on the first try

The Ninja ProChef™ Wireless Thermometer has definitely helped my cooking. Its wireless feature allows me to monitor temperatures remotely, freeing me from being tethered to the kitchen. The app integration is seamless, giving real-time updates straight to my phone. On my first use, it saved me from overcooking a steak because the steak reached temperature before my timer went off, ensuring it was perfectly done. The build quality is premium, and the user interface is intuitive. Although the only downside is the size of the thermometer. Its just too big if you're trying to cook anything less than meat that's 1 1/2 inches thick. The thermometer’s range allows for multitasking, and its accuracy ensures every dish is cooked to perfection. The app is well-designed, offering cooking tips and saving preferred settings. The battery life is impressive, handling multiple sessions without a recharge. Despite minor setup challenges, the Ninja ProChef is a great addition for any kitchen, providing convenience, accuracy, and peace of mind. Highly recommended for cooking enthusiasts!

When I first got this thermometer, I was a little skeptical. I thought you use it like a traditional one where you put the tip of the unit in the food to check it's temperature, but I was wrong. You actually put the probe in to the center part of what you're cooking so if you're cooking a roast, you'll want to insert it in to the thickest part of the meat and leave it there while the meat cooks. The unit pairs easily with the companion smartphone app to let you see the temperature of your food as it's cooking so you know exactly when to take it out. That is very handy because you don't have to take the lid off or open an oven door and lose the heat inside. The unit stays with the food. It seems strange, but it works and it works well. You can also use it traditionally of course. I've used it to check the temperature of chicken wings to make sure they're done. The app has various features that help as well so food gets done perfectly. Cleanup is also very fast. I think I'll be using this thermometer for a very long time to come.

The Ninja ProChef Wireless Thermometer is a handy little device that allows you to wirelessly link it to your phone so that you can easily check the temperature of the food you are cooking! Whether you are air frying, grilling, or baking, this is the thermometer for you. I love the app. Sometimes it can be difficult to remember exactly what internal temperature a certain type of food needs to be cooked at. With the app, you can select different types of food and the app will suggest the appropriate temperate and let you adjust the target temperature! It has never been easier! Food safety is important and this thermometer contributes to your health and wellness by making sure food is cooked through the center to the right temperature. With a 700 degree temperature rating, this device is more than capable of taking care of your needs during your cooking sessions. The battery charger/case is a nice touch. It has a magnetic base. I conveniently attach it to my refrigerator so that I always know where my thermometer is. Setup was a breeze. The app instantly connected with no issues! While using the thermometer, you must be sure to insert it deep enough into the food you are cooking. There are two lines on the thermometer that show you the depth it needs to be inserted. If you are in the market for an easy to use wireless thermometer, look no further! Order the Ninja ProChef Wireless Thermometer today!

There are a lot of good things to say about this device, and I think the people at Ninja were trying to cover all they're bases when they put this together. Getting the app setup and everything synched worked flawlessly. The app then walks you through pretty much everything, which is pretty great because there's no other place you need to look for information - no manual needed to reference. You pick the type of meat (or manual), then the cut, as well as the temperature you're looking to hit. I wanted to try the gambit of options I'd be most likely to use, and here are the results: >8oz Sirloin (on the grill) This was my first test, and took me through all of the great features. First off, I had no idea the base had magnets on it, so when I brought it to sit near the grill (the base has to be 5 feet near the thermometer) and it stuck, that was definitely a bonus. The thermometer tracks not only the meat temp but the ambient temp as well - I could see that my (mildly out of control) gas grill was really getting up there - 600+ degrees at one point. The app gave me an estimate on cooking time (which was pretty accurate), told me when to flip, told me when to pull because the meat would continue to increase in temp on its own, and even a rest timer. My iPhone would vibrate at each stage (even get notifications on your iWatch), as well as a minute before it would be done. The steak came out great, my only mistake being that I put the thermometer in the larger of the two steaks so the other was a little over. >Chicken Breast on the bone (in the oven) 2nd use - all sorts of issues. I put the thermometer in the thickest part of the breast, avoiding the bone. I got an estimate of 17 min (in a 350 degree oven), which seemed like madness to me (normally it'd be like 40 minutes minimum), and I figured it would readjust given some time so I let it go. I don't recall how long it actually was, but the chicken just didn't look done. I checked with another thermometer and it read something like 137, goal was 165. I had to do some gymnastics with a fork and silicone glove to pull the thermometer and reseat it - back in the oven it went. I had to do that one more time before the chicken got done. I still cannot explain what happened, but it's in part why I can't give the unit 5 stars. >Pork Loin (in the oven) 3rd cook - no issues with this one, even checked it with another electric thermometer just in case. Cleanup is easy - just wait for the thermometer to cool (the app will remind you) and hand wash. No worries about dunking the thermometer entirely. You don't have to replace the thermometer, and depending on what you're cooking, I'd guess you could probably use it 4-5 times without charging it in the base (the app also tells you what % charge). Here's why I give this a 4 instead of 5: >Issues I had with chicken as noted above >Though the base is magnetized, the magnet at the top of the unit is not strong (or maybe not existent), but you may not be able to place it sideways without it sliding down >I couldn't find any mechanism to provide feedback through the app. I don't mean like app doesn't work kind of thing, but feedback on how well or poorly a cook went >Price is probably a consideration but if you're looking at something like this anyway, maybe it doesn't matter

I’ve always been reluctant to take on cooking – especially grilling – an expensive cut of meat. It’s really hard to monitor internal temperature with a conventional probe, and checking too often lets a lot of heat out of the oven or grille. As a result I consistently overcook everything. So that’s why this Ninja wireless thermometer should be very useful. It’s really an ingenious design with a probe that clips into the base unit where it gets recharged. When in use the probe communicates with the base by some sort of wireless signal and then the base communicates with a smartphone app via Bluetooth. The base has to be kept near where the probe is being used but the smartphone can be at some distance away. What amazes me is that the whole assembly is powered by just a single AAA battery, which has to both charge the probe and power the wireless connections on the base. How do they do that? The app has a lot of features that I have only begun to explore. It of course has its own internal guide to how to cook specific meats depending on degree of doneness and can even take into account the required “resting time” after the cut is removed from the heat. Another advanced feature is that the probe measures the internal temperature and also has an additional sensor to measure the ambient temperature inside the cooking appliance. This is what lets the app give an estimate of when the cooking will be complete. It’s really nice for once to not have to keep opening the oven and stabbing the meat with a probe while it’s cooking. The one negative about this product for me is that it really only seems usable on a fairly large cut of meat such as a roast, whole chicken or turkey, etc. The problem is that the probe is much thicker than a typical handheld probe and has a minimum insertion depth of around 2.5 inches. The instructions say that the minimum thickness for using it is one inch and that it has to be inserted sideways up to the insertion line for best results. So it’s not going to work for a typical steak, chicken breast, pork chop and the like unless they’re particularly thick or otherwise large. A bit of a disappointment for me but it should still pay off at Thanksgiving or for that beef tenderloin roast that’s hanging around in our freezer!

The ProChef Wireless Thermometer offers some nice features for cooks and grillers as it utilizes the Pro Connect app to keep one informed in real time about cooking progress. The app provides some informational videos related to use, yet it is user friendly and intuitive. One is ready to go after allowing the thermometer to get its initial charge via the charging base that is powered by one AAA battery. Within the app, there are manual or pre-set options to choose from. The steps for use are simple - insert the probe in the side of whatever protein you’re cooking, select the meat type in the app and select from various pre-sets or a manual option. It’s important to keep the charging case close to the cooking appliance to achieve the best signal possible to avoid interrupting the cooking status information. Ninja states the signal is good for a distance of 165’, but users may find their success varies from this based-on walls and other objects that may reduce the range. As the cooking progresses, the app will show progress and eventually alert one when it is time to remove food. Be careful as the thermometer will be hot so handle appropriately. The build quality is good and includes stainless steel and aluminum materials. In reviewing the specs on the Best Buy website, it mentioned that the thermometer includes PFA substances which gives us some pause as we typically look to avoid PFAS where possible. To what extent this should cause any concern with a food thermometer given its fairly compact size, I'm just not sure, but additional information from Ninja would be nice. For those that cook or grill a lot I think the flexibility of a wireless, indoor/outdoor thermometer will be appreciated and the Pro Connect app makes use very simple. It withstands temps up to 700 degrees and Ninja states a 30-hour battery life. We’ve had good luck with other Ninja products we have used so we’re looking forward to an easier, informative cooking experience with the ProChef Wireless Thermometer.

The Ninja ProChef™ Wireless Thermometer Indoor & Outdoor, 700◦F, extended battery life, long range connection, waterproof was super easy to get working. 1st I downloaded an app, then paired the thermometer, the app has a few fast instructional videos to help get started, then I speared a nice Ribeye steak to throw out on the grill. The Ninja ProChef Wireless thermometer app has user adjustable and preset settings for a few various types of meat. I selected the Beef setting then dialed it down to Med Rare and put the meat on the grill. A few minutes into the cook my phone vibrated so I took it out and the App said it was time to flip my food over. I followed the instructions and flipped over my steaks. After a few more minutes it told me to flip again so I did. The display for the App is easy to use and understand and displays the internal temp and external temperature. It also displays the expected remaining cook time, as well as the anticipated rest time also. Overall I foloowed the instructions on the app and pulled my steak when it told me to, then let it rest for a few minutes. When I cut into the steak it was perfectly cooked med rare just like I wanted it. 5 stars, easy to use, does what it says it will.

Became the main thermometer for my kitchen

I like that in the instruction book, it mentions if you're using two thermometers, and the temps are different, it could be because of their placement, and the food being at different temps in different areas inside, or it may just be that the OTHER thermometer is inaccurate. No mention that it could be THIS one that is inaccurate. I like that bravado. After installing the app on my phone, I was forced to watch a "before first use" video. No way to skip it until it completed through its end. Annoying. Then I had to watch another video about how to insert it. This one was longer, and again, cannot be skipped. But those only seem to be during the pairing process at least. But if you try to get out of either of the videos, pairing will be cancelled. But once you can finally get in the app, it's straight forward. Although the "charts" option on the bottom selector has nothing at all in it for this item. I would have liked if the app would see what product I've got and not give me options like this if my item isn't even in the list. The cook option is easy to read and manage. Manual lets you select your temp manually by dragging the temp indicator up or down to the desired temp. Or there are options for Chicken, Beef, Beef Roast, Pork, Turkey, Lamb, Plant Based, Veal, and Fish. Once you select a specific type of meat like that, then it gives you options for specifics such as roast, chop, and your doneness points. Rare, M. Rare, Medium, M. Well, Well. I have to say, the options within each type of meat are quite thorough and should cover anything I'd ever need to do. The app also gives the battery level of the thermometer on the top right. Under Settings, you can modify your account details and your appliances, and opt out of uploading anonymous data or allow push notifications to your device. There you can also change from F to C, get instructional tips and even enable warnings for the thermometer being too hot (which is enabled by default). Finally, as the last step of beginning the cooking, there is a "don't show me this again" option for the videos. And after disconnecting, and reconnecting, they don't show up again so it's only during the pairing process. This isn't my first wireless thermometer, but it IS the first one that needs the charging case to be "as close as possible to the cooking appliance" - can't be more than 5 feet away. And from what I've seen searching online, the reason for the charging case nearby is that it is also a Bluetooth repeater, so it's apparently increasing the signal for better reception wherever your phone or tablet are. Nice thinking. I compared this to the other one I have doing a steak tonight. I prefer my steaks medium well, and I had both inserted as near as possible to the center without being on top of each other, so that I could compare and contrast. So both were about the same depth within the thickness of the meat, both had about the same length sticking out. And while it cooked, both seemed to pretty much parallel each other both food and ambient temp consistently through the cooking, generally within a degree of each other, although at random times it seemed much larger of a variance since this Ninja one updates itself MUCH more frequently than the other one did, and that is one fact that I really appreciated. I could look and get an instant idea of what the temp was. With the other, I have to wait like 8 or 10 seconds for it to see if it is changing or not. The charging case is nicely done and solid, although it's annoying to have to have a coin or screwdriver or something to twist open the battery cover rather than having one that just slides open. But since that isn't something I should have to do to often I can live with it. Build quality is excellent for both the charger and the thermometer. Compared to the other one I have, the thermometer is SO much more solid and weighty, doesn't feel cheap. Definitely a good addition to my kitchen. This will be the one I use now, with the other simply being a fallback if something happens to this one, or if I actually have multiple things going at once (single guy whose kid moved out a couple years ago so I'm cooking for one now). If you're looking or a wireless thermometer like this, of the four or five I've had, this one is definitely the best. Another case of getting what you pay for.

This wireless thermometer, aptly named the Ninja Pro Chef, delivers the results of a “pro chef,” ensuring cooking perfection every time. As a seasoned user of wireless thermometers for several years, I eagerly anticipated the latest innovation from Ninja. They didn’t disappoint. Whether barbecuing, using a griddle outdoors, or cooking a holiday turkey, the Ninja Pro Chef Wireless Thermometer is a valuable tool to achieve culinary excellence. The package includes the Ninja charging case, an AAA battery, and the Ninja temperature probe. Setup is straightforward. Simply insert the battery into the charging case, place the temperature probe inside until fully charged, and download the companion app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The Ninja Pro Thermometer is compatible with various meats, fish, and other ingredients. Insert the probe up to the indicated line to avoid damage and obtain an accurate reading. Select the appropriate meat and doneness (including plant-based options). You can also manually enter a target temperature, and the probe will notify you when to remove from heat and let it rest. It’s that simple. If you trust the Ninja Pro to perform its task, you’ll achieve cooking perfection consistently. My only complaint with other wireless thermometers is their limited range. However, the Ninja Pro eliminates this concern with its impressive up to 165-foot range. I can walk around the kitchen while maintaining a connection to my phone and app, monitoring the cooking process. Your family and friends will soon be calling you a “Chef” thanks to the fantastic results the Ninja Pro will deliver.

The Ninja Pro Chef Thermometer is an absolute must for anyone who loves to grill or smoke meat. It was very user-friendly. The phone app's user interface was very user-friendly, and easy to understand which made the whole set up process that much easier and fun to use. This thermometer makes cooking/ grilling/ smoking meat for a person who gets distracted by.....Hey, look something shiny! Anyways the way you customize it for how you want your meat cooked does make it a lot easier. It also helps since it does give you notifications to your watch / phone. Again for people that are very ummm.....Let's just say distracted very easily. Overall I am very impressed with this thermometer, it has made things a lot easier on my grilling hobby and now I am going to need to add a smoker to my collection of things. It's easy to set up, it's easy to use and it makes life easy. So easy to use that anyone in the house hold could pick it up and insert into the meat, connect to their phone and boom they're up and cooking with it in no time.

Where has this tool been all of my life? As someone who is fairly new to smokers and grilling, this has become a must have! I’ve used it when grilling mostly chicken and turkey. What’s so good about it is that you can choose what type of food you’re cooking. It’s all there in the app. You can choose the type of meat and it will let you know the temperature you need to reach and how long. Set up was fairly easy. It took a few tries to connect to the bluetooth but once it was finally connected I was good to go. Staying connected was tricky. I would walk inside which is about 20 ft from the grill and lose connection. I ended up just placing my phone down close by so I wouldn’t lose the connection. I hoping this part gets better with an update. I have yet to use it in the oven. That’s my next project. The convenience of having to set it and forget it is a great idea. No need to keep going to check on it as often. It’s very well built too. I would recommend this to someone just starting out or a pro at grilling.
