The best addition for my kitchen!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the perfect addition to my kitchen. I do a lot of cooking, and already had an air fryer, but decided I needed something with more features. I love Ninja products, I own a few, and this one does not disappoint! First, I needed something that was not bulky. This one is shorter in height and doesn’t take a lot of space. You have the feature to flip it in order to create more counter space. I can air fry larger amounts of food that n my previous air fryer. I can roast, bake, broil, and more. I am extremely happy to have found this product and highly recommend it.

Love This Air Fryer! It's the BEST!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love, love this Air Fryer! It's very user friendly. Very quiet, and preheats in about a minute. I have used the toaster and it's toast perfectly. Fish fillets come cook perfectly! I use this Air Fryer everyday! You can select the darkness of your toast. Very easy to clean up. . I love that it flips up and stows away to save so much counter space. I have recommended this Air Fryer to all my family & friends.

Ninja Flip
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like how versatile it is with different settings. It works great too. Flipping is pretty awkward though and the depth or lack of depth makes it inconvenient.

Does Everything Perfectly
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my old toaster oven stopped working, it took me almost 6 months to replace it. I read conflicting reviews on so many toaster ovens that it was hard to make a decision. Finally, I decided to get this one. I have the coffee maker and blender and love them both, so I went with the brand I trust. It seems that I made the right choice. Every function works efficiently, it heats up fast, is easy to use, and I love the digital display that tells you when it’s done preheating and even when it’s still hot (after it’s been turned off). I don’t always flip it, but it’s definitely a space saver when needed. Great purchase for sure.

Plenty of Air Fryer, Plenty of Counter Space
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.– OVERVIEW– The Ninja Flip Toaster Oven and Air Fryer is quite simply a very effective, space-saving air fryer. It can air fry, roast, broil, bake (cookies), (bake) pizza, and even dehydrate. It comes supplied with, from top to bottom: air fry basket, sheet pan, wire rack, and a crumb tray. Each one of these options can be seen on the front of the unit so there’s really no confusion on what you’re trying to achieve. What’s unique about this air fryer is that you’re able to stand it up after use to free up some much needed counter space. Air fryers today are large and bulky; this tries to solve that problem at the expense of a little bit of air frying real estate. But don’t let the size fool you as it can get many jobs done. – LOOK/FEEL – The entire unit is made of brushed aluminum; be careful to not ding it on the top or sides! The front panel sports a viewing glass so you can see how your food is doing, and it even has a nice light to illuminate the cabin. The buttons are all analog push buttons, so none of that touch capacitive stuff here, and the buttons themselves are made out of aluminum. You’ve got mode, temp, time, start/stop and a light button. Very simple. The only exception to the names on the buttons are when you’re making toast; Temp becomes shade level, and Time becomes # of slices to be toasted. All this information is seen on the Time and Temperature Display. The unit will also tell you when it’s PREheating, when it’s HOT to the touch, and when it’s ready to be FLIPed. – SETUP – Setup is quite simple and depends on what you’re cooking. The wire rack is a mandatory install and the basis for placing the sheet pan and ultimately the fry basket. Ninja includes a very straightforward manual that explains each mode and what accessory needs to be installed. For instance, pizza would only require the wire rack, broiling would entail the addition of the sheet pan, and french fries would be all three (wire rack, then sheet pan (optional), then fry basket). The Flip is about a 13”x13” space, with about 4-5 inches of head clearance. – PERFORMANCE – Because of its smaller dimensions, cooking is actually much more thorough as it is able to move hot air easier than a much larger unit. Upon use, I’ve learned that some things cook much faster on the Flip than my much larger air fryer. With all air fryers, going through a few trial runs will help you narrow down the optimal temperatures for cooking. I’ve done wings, fries, chicken nuggets, pizza and even toast. I trusted the units’ modes and just watched the food cook occasionally (Ninja suggests you do this as you get used to using it). Obviously some modes will cycle the fan on, and some modes will be whisper quiet. Overall, the unit is very quiet. Food is cooked evenly and comes out very crisp. – GOTCHAS – As I mentioned above, with each accessory inserted into the air fryer, the headroom diminishes. It’s clear when you look at photos with the fry basket in place. So keep that in mind if you’re looking to air fry types of foods that are taller in nature. The popular foods such as fries and party wings are able to clear the roof just fine. – CONCLUSION – I’m extremely happy with the Ninja Flip; I just realized that not only does it save space on my counter, it also replaces my dedicated toaster oven. There's plenty of space for the family for their favorite foods and cleaning up is a breeze (I just throw the basket and sheet pan into the dishwasher). Ninja provides some starter recipes to help those new to the air fryer market get a good feel for how an air fryer works and to maximize its potential in your home.

Multi-tasking master of every one of its features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ninja Flip (SP151): I must confess that our family has had several versions of this style of Ninja Air Fry Toaster Oven. Any concerns we had about size, form or capacity are a distant memory. The most significant impact has been on how we use our pro quality double ovens which have become more decorative and less used. The stand alone toaster has been abandoned. Maybe it’s our diet, but this multi-tasking, fryer-toaster, oven meets so many of our meal preparation needs. SIZE: This new NINJA toaster / fryer /oven requires 15.75”W x 17.1D x 7.68”H which represents a narrower appearance on our counter. And, the FLIP is in the name; these unique Ninja Air Fryer Toasters tilt it up when not in use. Then the height and depth dimensions change places. The size has never been an issue because this design is even more attractive and sleek looking. I’ll get my one complaint out of the way, here. Ninja moved the controls to the bottom. Great. However, they also had to remove the plastic inset grab element and left a simple indentation. This makes lifting the oven into its vertical position trickier, especially now that there is no space under the front of the oven to place my fingers. Moving on. PIZZA: We’ve become fans of a variety of cauliflower pizzas (frozen and fresh) and will indulge in just about anything remotely pizza-ish. There is the one button pizza selection that selects the temperature for you. Adjust the time as required by experience or box instructions. You can always choose Bake or Air Roast and choose your own time and temperatures. Temperatures range from 200-450 degrees. TOAST: Select slice count and the Ninja does the rest. Adjust shade with the Temp/Shade button. Perfect every time. SALMON FILETS: Line them up on your sheet pan (included) and dress with some marinade or other toppings. We’ve Air roasted, broiled, Air fried and delicious meals always result. You cannot make a mistake. You will quickly learn how to adjust so the outer finish and inner doneness meets your desired presentation. And it’s quick and easy. GRAB & GO MEALS or FROZEN foods: Make sure the provided dish is not combustible and just slide it onto the rack. NINJA provides a great Air Fry cooking chart that gives reasonable suggestions for time and temperature. It’s easy to keep an eye on your food through the large glass front door and doing a taste test only takes a few seconds with such easy access to your food. FROZEN FRENCH FRIES: Place French Fries in the basket. You can leave the bottom pan in or choose not to use it. Because this will employ the AIR FRY FUNCTION (dial and press) which uses the convection fan, it shouldn’t matter. Any amount of fries cook to perfection but you will need to modify the recommendations from the time/temperature chart. Wonderfully crispy outside, soft and potato-y on the inside. SUMMARY: You will discover that there are few dishes that don’t readily submit to the intense, low oil, hot air driven frying/cooking that the NINJA delivers. The well engineered cooking environment is remarkably efficient. It reduces cooking time, and therefore energy usage. The Ninja FLIP is much quieter than the typical stand-alone fryer. We’ve had competitor units that howled! The NINJA is easy-to-use and very attractive with solid build quality, looking very special on any kitchen counter. This is a wonderful addition to the fanciest of kitchens. NINJA delivers truly helpful instructions, help guides and recipe recommendations to fully exploit this unique appliance. It adds practical versatility to the average kitchen. And, this nifty device actually adds an entire suite of cooking capability to the smallest apartments (or even a dorm room if that’s allowed). Highest recommendation.

Works great, but kind of gimmicky
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a big fan of Ninja products. I’ve owned lots over the years and have been pleased with all. However, some of their products try to do too much. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of versatile kitchen appliances (you only have so much kitchen space) but they can sometimes feel gimmicky. You might need a replacement air fryer, and then you think, why not get a 8-in-1 device that air frys and does other things. So you spend the money for the all in one product and don’t find yourself using it other than air frying. That’s how I feel about the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven and Air Fryer. It works great, but I don’t find myself using all its features (like dehydrating). I feel like if you’re into that, you already have your own means, devices to dehydrate food. In any event, inside the box you’ll find the oven, air fryer basket, sheet pan, wire rack, crumb tray and a quick start guide. Luckily, when not in use, you can store all these items inside the oven. The quick start guide is unlike some other guides from Ninja - I’ve been spoiled by Ninja giving a lot of recipes for specific kitchen appliances - here, there’s only one recipe and an air frying chart (both of which are still appreciated). The quick start guide is just that, it’s there to give you a lay of the land so to speak on how to use the various functions. It’s less about recipes and more of giving you concepts. For example, it gives you a template to build a sheet pan meal (which would be a protein and vegetable starch). It helps explain the different types of cooking methods, like air roast, which is for a crispy outside and juicy inside, or broil which provides top down heat for a crispy finish. And it shows you what pans to use depending on how you’re cooking food. For the experienced cook, you might already know this information. But I find it helpful. The design of the toaster oven is nice, it looks modern, sleek and dare I say professional. The lid shuts via magnet and it holds up well whether the oven is sitting on the counter or tilted up on its backside. The buttons on the front are clear and easy to understand. So long as you know HOW you want to cook, figuring out the settings is simple. There’s a mode, time, temp, start/stop button. I very much appreciate this simplicity. There’s also a light, similar to that of an oven light that lets you see your food while it’s cooking. It has a big footprint however. It shouldn’t be surprising given the size of the oven. In short, it takes up a lot of counter space. Now you can tilt it up to lay on its backside (with the oven door facing up). I will say that I appreciate the design and ability to “flip” it up, but it still takes up some counter space. It’s better than having it sit on its bottom, but I wouldn’t one anyone to get the impression that it becomes invisible so to speak. The big pros of this oven are the fast cooking times, large capacity and ease of cleaning. It’s large enough to fit a 12 inch frozen pizza, 6 slices of bread (for toasting), or up to 4 lbs of food. You should be able to feed a small family in one go. But even if you need to make more food, it cooks surprisingly quickly. I air roasted 2 chicken breasts and it took 20 minutes. All I did was put it on the sheet pan, turn it on air roast, set my temperature and “forgot it.” I ended up with two perfectly cooked chicken breasts. No preheating required. Cooking that chicken in my oven would have taken longer - not to mention preheating - and same goes for grilling. Cooking a frozen pizza, you still need to follow the packaging instructions, but a pizza that takes 16 minutes to bake in your traditional oven, might only take 12-3 minutes. And without preheating. Cleaning is a cinch too. Once everything is cooled down, you can pull out the air fry basket, sheet pan, crumb tray and clean them with ease. I’ve cooked with mine several times - cleaning it after each use - and it still looks brand new. The cons of this oven is the price. I don’t think this oven is overpriced, base on what it can do, but going back to my original comment, if you only use the air frying function, you could get a dedicated air fryer cheaper. Then there’s the complexity. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t some complicated appliance. But it takes a little bit of trial and error cooking dishes as it cooks things differently (often quicker). I did burn a pizza once and had to throw it away - but I wasn’t watching it as I should have (when using it the first time). In short, it’s easy to use, so long as you know how you want to cook and realize that until you get the hang of it, you’ll need to monitor your cooking food. I’ve only had it a short time and don’t really have any durability concerns. But that’s primarily based on my past experience with Shark kitchen appliances. I’ve never had any issues with them. I guess the only concern might be the constant flipping it up to store it, but I honestly don’t see that being an issue at all. In short, this Ninja Flip Toaster Oven works surprisingly well. Again, I’m still blown away with the air roasting of my chicken. I would just want to make sure it works in your kitchen as some of its features can be found in your typical oven. But if you want something that can cook up some meals for one, 2 or maybe even a small family, and do it quickly this would be a great purchase. Storage is an issue, if you don’t have much counter space, and even with the flipping function, it will dominate your counter space. I find that if I don’t keep my appliances within easy reach, I get to the point where it becomes too much effort to get it out of storage. But everyone’s different.

Space saving, turbo cooking beast!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Flip Air Fryer and Toaster Oven is almost TOO good, based not just on the 8-in-one functionality, but the lightning speed at which it does everything. The “flip-up” wasn’t what I expected and honestly feared; I *thought* that meant that it used a swivel to flip up and out of the way, which for me could be a bad thing. I have a cat that has claimed the entire house as her own, including countertops. If it was on a swivel, I feared that she could knock it from the storage position and have it crash down to the cooking position, but that is not the case. The Ninja Flip has rubber feet for both positions, so you have to purposefully flip it down where it sets securely on the counter, and when you’re ready to get it out of the way, you flip it up and it rests on the four rubber feet and is very secure in that position as well. The 8 functions include Air Fry, Air Roast, Bake, Pizza, Broil, Toast, Bagel, and Dehydrate. So far, I have just used the Air Fry and Pizza functions which work great, and I wanted to get an initial review posted as I feel these are going to be among the most heavily used functions. The controls couldn’t be simpler to use; you have the power button on the far left, you then use the Mode button to switch between the 8 functions, then use the Temp and Time buttons to set those, and hit start. The final button turns on the light so you can see how what you’re preparing is doing, and believe me, you’re going to want to do this your first few cooks at least. I first tried a frozen pizza, as you can see in the photos. When you turn it on, it defaults to 20 minutes and 350 degrees, which I then set to the 425 degrees that the box suggested. It also suggested a cooking time of 15-18 minutes, so I left it at the default 20 minute setting and kept an eye on it every few minutes. As you can see from the picture, there was just over 11 and a half minutes remaining and the pizza was done! 8 and a half minutes cut the cooking time in half, and it was perfect! Oh, the other thing I need to mention is the pre-heat time; once you hit Start, it goes into pre-heat mode and lets you know when it hits the temperature. It took just under a minute and a half for this to get to 425 degrees, which I think is incredible. I have also used the Air Fry function for Pagoda pot-stickers which didn’t have cooking instructions for air frying, they suggest pan frying 10 to 11 minutes. These were air fried perfection in 6 minutes. Finally, I did some tater tots which the directions say to bake in the oven for 15 minutes, flip them, then cook another 10 to 15 minutes. I cooked them for 10 minutes, shook the basket, and 5 minutes after that, they were perfectly cooked. In short, the Ninja Flip is going to save you a lot of time, besides saving the counter space when not in use. My only warning is to check what you’re cooking and keep a notebook on the REAL cooking time using the Ninja for the things you prepare often, otherwise I’m afraid you’re going to burn your food. The Ninja Flip is perfect for a single guy like myself where the smaller fry basket size isn’t an issue, and counter space is a premium in my small kitchen. It’s easy to use, super fast, easy to clean, and stores out of the way when not in use. I enthusiastically recommend the Ninja Flip and give it my highest rating.

One of the best toaster ovens/air fryers I’ve used
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re looking for a small toaster oven – air fryer that does a good job and can fit in a tight space, the Flip just might be what you’re looking for. I think it does an outstanding job. I’ve owned many toaster ovens over the years, and I have reviewed several for TIN too. The Flip is one of the best and the most unique design. I’m not going to relist everything it does, how it cooks and what all comes with it. That’s what the product description is for. I’ll be discussing how well it worked for me and my family. It’s common for any new appliance that cooks, especially a toaster over or air fryer, to emit an odor they first time they are used. In fact, most manufacturers state this in the instruction manual. Heat it up the first time without food in it, is recommended. However, my Flip had a very strong odor on its first empty run. I’m not sure exactly how to describe the odor, but it took me several times over a few days of heating it up and letting it air out before I cooked anything in it. I almost sent it back because of this. Once the odor was gone, it was gone for good. My wife and I cooked several things it that most people commonly cook or reheat in one. Here’s the cooking list: Tater tots and crowns, hash brown patties, French fries, sliced potatoes that are like fries, biscuits, cookies, garlic bread, garlic bread with cheese, toast, open faced sandwiches, and homemade pizza. Here’s the reheated list: Fried Chicken, takeout pizza, fried and grilled fish, fried and grilled pork chops and a couple of hamburger patties I had grilled the day before. It did a good job on everything I put it. But from what can tell from how some of the tots and bread cooked, it gets a little hotter in the back corners. Not enough to be a deal breaker. See photos. With its size being a big part of the Flip’s appeal, other things that I like is the button layout and feel of them when pressed. The display is invisible unless the unit is on. Operation is dead simple for selecting cooking modes. Just press the Mode button to cycle through the cooking modes. Forward or reverse to get to the one you want quicker. Time, Temperature, Start/Stop and Light are the rest of the buttons. The light is a nice feature that you didn’t know you needed it until you have it. Display read “Hot” until the unit cools off after use. I like that it pre-heats very fast too. It’s also quieter than any other toaster oven / air fryer that I’ve ever used. I like how the door opens, and it looks good! Build quality feel sold and everything appears to fit together well. I didn’t notice any slop or gaps where pieces went together. Its rubber feet keep it from sliding around too. The only things that I didn’t care for was the afore mentioned smell issue. The loud beep that can be annoying. It’s a Ninja thing. I have other Ninja products that have the same identical loud beep. Deep pans could have a problem with air flow reaching down in them, depending on what you might be cooking in them. Conclusion: The Flip does what it says it will and does it very good.

Great Space-Saving Oven w/One Hitch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already am a convert to the joys of owning a toaster oven. I have a great one now that I love but I had been looking for one with a bit more cooking area but without the added bulk that normally comes with such an increase and what do you know, the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven comes through! I can't tell you how much time and energy I have saved by doing most of my cooking with a toaster oven. It heats faster, cooks faster, and doesn't bake the entire house while running. I have two, yes two, regular ovens in my kitchen and I have NEVER used the big one under my stove top, and only use the smaller one under my microwave for baking big items. Virtually everything else is done in my toaster oven. Like I said, I loved my previous oven but I've been wanting a bit more space for about the last year now, because I have either had to do cooking in batches or just scaling down recipes, when I'd rather just have some leftovers. You can see in the picture of the respective baking trays that the Ninja has a much nicer and larger surface area to work with. Also in the pictures you can see how a baking test with the Ninja compares to a batch done in my regular oven. I have never tried to do cookies just in my toaster oven, but after this test, I will be doing my cookies ONLY in my toaster oven! The bake was faster and more consistent across the baking tray than the larger regular oven. This thing heats up wicked fast. I started both ovens at the same time and the Ninja hit the proper baking temp just before my regular oven hit 200 degrees. The first batch of cookies was almost done before the bigger oven hit the proper temperature. That's also because the Ninja also bakes even faster than my other toaster oven. And that is the one catch I mention in the title of this review; I'm going to have to learn all new baking times for all the things I make. I had it down to a science before and new I have to learn a whole new advanced quantum version of that science. I actually don't care about flipping the Ninja Toaster Oven up to save counter space, because I have tons of that and the toaster oven just shows a bunch more stainless steel with smudges and fingerprints (the bane of my existence). I was even worried about having a device such as a toaster oven flip up or even being so close to walls and cabinets, but the Ninja Flip has some great thermals on it and it puts out less heat than my previous toaster oven does. It's actually very impressive. I only have one other little quibble with the Ninja Flip, and that is that I wish that the handle on the left side could be swapped to the other side. I'm left handed and normally have a utensil or my oven mitt on that hand and open the door with my right hand. I can't do that without it being awkward now. Having the option to move the handle or putting a handle on both sides would make this thing absolutely perfect. I can't wait to try out all the other modes with the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer, but it's going to be fun, tasty, and fast doing so!

Versatile space saving multi-function oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Flip Toaster Oven and Air Fryer is a super versatile appliance that can take the place of several appliances with a small slim footprint. In addition to the included detailed owners guide there is a color tri-fold reference that I found to be the most helpful. It outlines for each function what types of food it is for, which accessories to use and some best practices. On the back side there is an awesome cooking chart to help with temperature and time settings for different food types. Start with the toaster. This thing will toast up to 6 slices of bread or 2 large bagels with ease. I did have to do a little experimentation to determine the optimal shade settings to crisp things to my liking as the shade settings did really correspond exactly to what I was used to with our old toaster. I found that a setting of 3-4 out of 7 was the sweet spot. The air fry feature works awesome for French fries which I make a lot. I have the best success with just the basket. If you have food that might drip a little like wings, I recommend using the sheet pan to catch the drippings. Air roast works for thick meats and fresh veggies. The broil feature works every bit as good as my oven with a much quicker heat up time. I baked some canned dinner roles, and they turned out perfectly. The pizza mode is like the bake mode but with some moderate air flow, so it works like a regular convection oven but again with a faster preheat. I have not tried the dehydrate feature yet but would like to soon. The accessories are easy to clean, and the crumb tray catches most of the crumbles that fall through the basket and rack so you can keep the bottom inside of the unit clean. The owners guide an everyday and deep cleaning routine. The tray and rack are hand-wash only while the other pieces are hand-wash recommended. Controls are well laid out and easy to navigate without having to refer to the instructions. Toast settings are 1-6 pieces and shade 1-7. Time can be set from 1-59 minutes and temperature range is from 250-450. There is a button to toggle the light on/off and it will also come on automatically for the last 30 seconds. The front panel will also let you know when the unit is still hot to touch and will also tell you when it is cooled off and safe to flip up into the vertical storage position. If you do want to store your unit, vertically be aware that you must leave it plugged in after using it and wait until it says flip before storing. I found that it can take quite a while especially if cooking at high temperatures. 30 minutes or more was not uncommon. If you are a type A person that feels the need to put things in order immediately after using it, this might bother you. Otherwise, I really cannot think of a negative thing about the unit.

My new favorite kitchen appliance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started cooking in this ninja flip in order to test and review this toaster and now I’m hooked. There is so much to love about it. A couple quick things I’ve learned of note. When unboxing, there are several things inside the toaster wrapped in plastic wrap. Make sure you remove the plastic wrap. Secondly, the black metal tray, it says to leave it under the basket when you are cooking in the basket, this is because your food will drip moisture or pieces will fall into the bottom burners and smoke and burn up. It also suggests which oils to cook with in the manual to prevent less smoke too. Follow the directions and this isn’t a problem. There are 8 different cooking modes that are easy to scroll through with the press of the mode button. Each are preset for you and you can then add or subtract time/slices, and temp/shade depending on what your cooking and how much. It has cooked all of my food so perfectly even. Currently I have salmon air frying with garlic potato wedges. It does suggest and I concur, spray the basket first to prevent your food from sticking. Frozen pizzas come out perfectly even and it preheats in a matter of seconds. No waiting to warm up when you’re hungry! When you’re done cooking, the fan stays on to cool it down and the toaster will read “HOT” until it has cooled so you don’t put anything on it or burn yourself. Lastly, besides it working great, it also looks good. The stainless steel matches our appliances. It’s not tall and in a pinch if you need extra counter space, it’s designed to be able to “flip” up and give you extra counter space and the crumbs don’t fall out of it all over your counter. I’m not sure how much I’ll use this feature, but convenient that it can. Overall, this Ninja flip toaster air fryer works great, looks great, and I am thrilled to cook more in my Ninja!

Another great product from Ninja
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best features of the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer is the Flip up option, which greatly reduces the countertop footprint, freeing up valuable space for cooking when you need it. The LCD display even displays “FLIP” when the oven is cool enough to safely rotate into its vertical position. The display will also display “HOT” after turning off the oven, reminding everyone not to touch to prevent burns until it cools enough to be safe to touch. The Flip Toaster Oven and Air Fryer comes complete with a non-stick baking pan and mesh air fryer basket. Both pans measure roughly 10 x 12 inches, and there’s plenty of room for cooking casserole dishes and the like. Obviously, it’s not tall enough for cooking large food items like a whole chicken for example. But for everything else, the Ninja Flip does an excellent job of cooking, toasting, and air frying, and bakes quickly as a convection oven. The well-labeled control buttons are easy to see and use. The Temp and Time buttons also function as Shade and Slices when making toast. I toasted some English muffins at a medium shade setting number and they came out perfectly toasted. I also used the air fryer mode to reheat leftover pizza and about four minutes was all I needed for perfect crisp crust and hot toppings, much better than using a microwave oven in my opinion. Preheating the Ninja oven is super fast as well. Ninja added some subtle but really welcome features, one being that the door can be opened just slightly to allow the oven to cool quickly without having the door wide open. On the back of the oven, there are clips to organize and stow the electrical cord. The infrared heating elements are protected by vented covers to prevent damage. The interior light makes it easy to check on your food as it cooks. Lastly, the crumb tray on the bottom of the oven is easily removed for cleaning. I was impressed also with the solid build…shipping weight was something like 40 pounds! I have always been impressed with all kitchen products from Ninja. I personally own some of their frying pans, air fryers, and a coffee maker. The Flip Toaster Oven and Air Fryer meets my high expectations as another high-quality cookware item from Ninja.

Worth every penny
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We upgraded from an old Cuisinart air fryer that had stopped working. This one is soooo much better. The digital display makes everything so much easier to set. The inside is really easy to clean and the flip feature, while gimmicky, does save counter space and make life a lot easier.

Great toaster oven / air fryer overall
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great toaster oven / air fryer overall. This toaster oven can be stored vertically, but after using it make sure it says FLIP insuring it has cooled down enough to be safe to move vertically. Hence the name Ninja FLIP Toaster Oven and Air Fryer. The toaster oven is about 16” tall when in its flipped back state, it literally can be tilted back to save some storage space on a countertop. It even has extra feet on the back of it that lifts it off the back and I like how the feet have some grooves to manage the power cord. In my kitchen, it is too tall to fit under my kitchen cabinet. However, I believe this would fit under most peoples' countertops. It is too bad, as this would have saved me some counterspace, and it looks really nice from the bottom when stored upwards. Still, I like this toaster oven enough that it isn't a deal breaker for me. This toaster oven/air fryer comes with an air fry basket, sheet pan, wire rack (must be used at all times, it holds the other accessories), and a crumb tray that can be easily pulled out for cleaning out. Usage steps are essentially: you turn the entire unit on, select one of the 8 available modes: Air Fry, Air Roast, Bake, Pizza, Broil, Toast, Bagel, Dehydrate. Depending on the mode you choose you can set the actual oven temperature, it will preheat for some modes, and then you select how much time you want it to go for. We really liked using it for reheating leftover pizza quickly in the oven’s pizza mode. Air frying was pretty good for us for things like fries and vegetables. It crisps very well using the air frying basket. While of course you can obviously do things like toast bread, we find we have to run the toaster twice to get as toasted as we like, even at full toasting settings. Wish it just got toasted darker, setting it just once. Overall, if you have the counterspace for this, and want something that can also air-fry this is a great buy for the money.

Versatility in a Compact, stylish package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer is a versatile and stylish multi-functional toaster oven and more...I only had it for about a week, so I didn’t have that much time to try all its features thoroughly but enough to appreciate a great toaster oven that does it all - roast, broil, bake, pizza, toast, bagel, air-fry and even dehydrate. Overall build quality is decent, though the outer sheet metal feels kind of thin and can bend in and out. Despite being well packed in form-fitting styrofoam and double box, mine has a ding on the top panel towards the back. The stainless steel finish is very stylish, modern looking, and the control panel is well laid out and intuitive. Moreover there is also an interior light that can be turned on and off to check on your food progress, and it also automatically turns on about 20 seconds before cooking time is over - a very nice touch. Ninja was brilliantly able to cram so much technology in quite a compact package, and the ingenious idea to “flip” it up and out of the way to give back countertop space when not in-use. The OvenCrisp Technology works as advertised with internal fans that circulate the hot air at variable speeds to provide faster, more even cooking and crisping. My bread toast and bagels come out just right every morning. I would recommend turning down the shade setting one notch on your first try just to make sure you don’t over-toast until you get a better feel for it. I’ve also cooked some frozen sweet french fries and came out great, better than some restaurant fries and only took 20 minutes. I also cooked some Salmon lightly dipped in egg/flour and Panco bread crumbs and it came out great, cooked at 350 F in 10 minutes. It would have taken a lot longer to preheat the range oven and cook the same fish, and would have consumed a lot more electricity in the process. Even when toasting bagels the outer panels will get hot to the touch, so do leave enough space all around for airflow and cooling, especially when using the broiler/air fryer oven functions, the sides and back will get very hot to the touch. This Ninja will display “Hot” for a while it’s cooling, then will display “FLIP”, when it’s cooled down enough for you to flip it up on its back for more countertop space. All in all, if you don’t mind frying smaller portions than you would in a full-size oven and want to get it done more quickly, less greasy and with less energy consumption and more countertop space when you’re done, this Ninja could be a great addition to your kitchen.

Good, but not the best value from Ninja
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ninja’s latest compact toaster over has gotten back to its traditional roots, but still impresses with a top temperature of 450 degrees. The high temperature plus the convection fan allows this to also act as an air fryer. The results stacked up very well against my parents’ air fryer in terms of crispiness and speed. One of the nice features of the Ninja over is the timer starts only once the temperature reaches the set temperature, guaranteeing the food is cooked for the appropriate amount of time. It’s large enough I was able to cook a supermarket frozen pizza in it. For fun, I cooked another pizza at the same time in my standard oven. The toaster heated up faster, but the results weren’t as well done as from the full size oven. I had to put the pizza in for 3 minutes longer (added to the 10 min on the box) before the pizza was crispy and slightly brown on top. After the extra time, the consistency was just as good as the full sized over pizza, with significantly less energy usage. The toaster was a little faster overall, as the full size over took 4x longer to heat up. As it’s a toaster, that’s always a question on an appliance like this. Toasting 2 or 6 slices, I found the results to be even and within the range I was expecting. #3 is slightly brown and crispy. 2 is crispy, but not brown. 4 is darker and crispy throughout. Crumbs fall nicely on the removable crumb tray, which makes cleaning easy. There’s a flexible piece which keep crumbs falling between the door and the oven portion. There’s also a decent gap between the door and over, when its open to assure that crumbs don’t get stuck there. All are thoughtful touches as Ninja has matured in this market. Similar to other Ninjas, this will flip up when not in use, to conserve precious counter space. It’s slightly narrower than some predecessors, with the controls mounted on the bottom. The controls are daily easy to use, though I would prefer a knob to dial in what I’m looking to do faster. This is a good combination for someone with limited counter space as it can serve multiple purposes for a weekday dinner prep. However, if you’re investing this much in a toaster, you’re likely better off going with Ninja’s 11-in-1 model which adds higher heat, better non-stick tray, and dual heat cooking. It’s much more versatile for a relatively small increase in cost. While you can’t go wrong either way, sometimes it’s worth it to splurge.

5-Stars! Just Don't Buy for the Flip!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially purchased the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer for its unique flip-up feature, hoping it would help with saving counter space. However, I found the flip feature a bit underwhelming—it’s just some rubber feet on the back that let you tip it up manually. I imagined it would be more of a mechanical flip, but that’s on me. Luckily, this didn’t take away from the fact that this is a fantastic toaster oven. One thing that I love (and I think should be a requirement on all toaster ovens) is the built-in light! Being able to check on your food without having to guess is a game changer. The buttons are well-designed and super easy to use. Switching between modes is a breeze, and adjusting the cooking time is quick and responsive. The depth of the oven is great for things like frozen pizzas, and the large air fry basket makes it easy to spread out fries or other snacks. I was also worried it might not be tall enough for a 9x13 dish, but it handles it just fine, which is a win in my book. Overall, I’m thrilled with the Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer. Even though the flip feature wasn’t quite what I imagined, the performance and convenience it offers more than makes up for it!

Good for the right kitchen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It can toast, air fry, bake, and dehydrate. The fact that it flips up to save counter space is really the reason why you would want to get this oven. But, you can’t operate it while it’s standing up so... anyhow, let’s talk about operation first. Setting it up as straightforward. It’s easy it is to switch between functions from the menu and it’s obvious how to set them. The oven comes with a crumb tray, an air fry basket, and an oven rack. It seems to handle the basic functions of a toaster oven and countertop oven fairly well. The air frying feature is moderately great; my fries came out crispy but in my first set of tests the insides were somewhat cold. I guess I’m not that good at air frying. The cooking time is somewhat impressive. It preheats quickly and cooks faster than a regular traditional oven, making it pretty good for one off cooking or small meals. The oven functions came out with food evenly cooked... which is table stakes for an oven. Cleaning is relatively easy too, thanks to the removable crumb tray and easy to reach surfaces. I haven’t had it long enough to spray oven cleaner in it... not sure how something that caustic would affect the finish, but my impression is that cleaning with oven cleaner would be about the same as in other small appliances. So here comes my full opinion of this device: “Who is this oven for?” You need enough space to use it fully horizontal so your kitchen has to be very very small to find something like this useful. So why not just get one of Ninja’s regular size ovens? Because it needs to be slim on its side, you give up a lot of vertical space, so the oven top will get dirty fairly easily, and don’t think about baking a casserole in this oven... it’s just not big enough for the standard size casserole dish. It’s just about right for a 12-14 inch frozen pizza if you’re ok with it touching the oven door. It’s small. BTW: Beware of moving or flipping it right after cooking or you’ll burn your hands... Duh! If you happen to have a need for this type of oven, you will see this and know it’s the only one of its kind. It’s definitely niche and if it fits for you, you’ll love it.
