Versatile cooking for this novice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my new favorite kitchen device. I have been into air frying for some time now, and our recent air fryer is great but we can only really cook one item at a time. With this Ninja DoubleStack XL, we can cook up to four different items at the same time. I love the double stacked look as it does save space in our small kitchen. The control panel is very simple to use. The display gives you which tray you want to use (One or Two), as well as six different cooking styles. The Temp and Time knob is easily adjustable, and if you want to use the Double Stack, the options are there for additional adjustments. Also, the best feature is the Smart/Match Cook features. Even though it is a double stack, my initial thoughts were if you are cooking two items in the same tray, it has to be the same settings. I was wrong. The air flow is designed for the double stack with either a Smart Finish feature where you can control cooking two foods with two ways, or the Match Cook feature which mimics the settings for all of it. I love that my foods come out crispy and cooked all the way through. So I did try putting a whole chicken (which they state a 5lb bird can fit), so it's a Cornish Hen basically. It did slightly burn the top because of the size of the bird, but it was cooked all the way through. I also did put sweet potato fries and asparagus in the other tray using the basket and it cooked them really well. Cleaning is a breeze as very efficient. as it is non-stick and dishwasher safe. I don't use the dishwasher, but washing in the sink is effortless. As a novice cook, this really helped and elevated the amount of food and reduced my time. Cooking multiple items at the same time was once daunting and took too long, but now, this really helped lower that time and bring more food to my plates faster.

Most efficient ever!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the most efficient piece of appliance I ever had. Every so often, we heat up pizza, fish sticks, fried / rotisserie chicken, fries, calamari, fish, and almost any leftover. There are so many advantages of this air fryer versus our current “all-in-one air fryer: 1) This air fryer ONLY USES THE SPACE WE NEED. In our old one, you heat the whole thing up, and use probably max 70% of the tray. With this air fryer, I can opt to only use one tray. 2) Because we only use what we need, it is very ENERGY EFFICIENT. It does not draw up too much power that I can use it alongside my microwave. Before I cannot use my previous air fryer with the microwave at the same time. 3) I want to mention the SPACE it saved. It reduced the size of my current air fryer by almost half, and this doublestack air fryer still does what we usually use the air fryer for. It takes up the same height but the least width. And it still does the job for us—a family of 6 at less time. 4) I can cook TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT dishes at the SAME TIME. I know I have a microwave as well, but this appliance makes me focus on what I need to do by doing it all on one machine, and I can easily time it too. Plus, the size on each tray is deceiving-- they actually hold a lot. 5) Moms, please pay attention. This one is VERY EASY TO CLEAN. I have not found an air fryer that is easy to clean. The grill, the tray, the under tray—this one, has components that are easy to detach, clean and run in the sink! 6)It LOOKS GOOD on the counter. It saves space and it looks good—I think it’s a no-brainer. I don't think I have any con to mention with this appliance. Ninja has come way far from when it started making powerful blenders. Now they are making efficient air fryers too. I think this one should be a home requirement.

Good for what it does - air fry a lot of food
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this unit for what it was - a high capacity unit with the ability to cook a notable amount of food. Having used an air fryer previously, I anticipated that this would be the equivalent of having a couple units - which it is. But I also anticipated that the cooking durations would be roughly equivalent of having a couple units - which in my initial experience is not the case. My initial view was favorable of this unit. It is slender enough to not take up too much counterspace, while still fitting under a cabinet. The unit is light enough to shift around, including placing it away in storage when not in use. It is a very intuitive unit to use, with simple displays and a clear understanding of how to control one or both of the cooking trays. Giving it an initial run with frozen sweet potato fries, the unit took closer to 30 minutes to crisp up the fries versus the advertised 20 minutes. These were standard-sized fries, so there was nothing out of the ordinary. The experience was the same with cooking additional food in the unit. The food comes out great, but with the realization that it just takes longer than the advertised amount of time to fully cook up (and crisp) the food. Overall, I like this unit. It does what it is intended to do - cook a lot of food within a single unit. I do recommend this air fryer, but with the awareness that - in my experience at least - it will take longer to cook than defined in the manual and cook sheet.

Ninja continues to produce quality applicances
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Ninja air fryer. I've had a 2-basket Ninja for the last few years it has seen a lot of use in my kitchen. It's only shortcoming, in my opinion, was it was a bit too small to feed a family of five. But now Ninja has the DoubleStack XL, a 10 quart, 2-basket fryer that also has the ability to stack ingredients using elevated grills to take advantage of even more space within the fryer. In addition, there are bake, roast, broil, and dehydrate functions, making this a very versatile unit. I generally use the air fryer function the most, and the Ninja DoubleStack XL excels in doing so. Last night I had company over and needed to make chicken breasts for 6 people. The Ninja had enough room (doublestacking the top basket) to cook all 6 breasts at one time. And these were 3/4 pounders. I rubbed them with olive oil and seasonings, and 20 minutes in the fryer was enough to kick out amazingly juicy breasts with a nice seared outside. I've air fried pork chops, green beans, asparagus; I've baked corn bread, even made s'mores. The Ninja DoubleStack XL is a great appliance to have in the kitchen and keep from having to fire up the big oven or cook in hot oil over a hot stove. Next up for me is trying to roast a 5 pound chicken. The Ninja says it can do two of them, one in each basket, at the same time. I look forward to giving it a try! Highly recommended.

Very nice upgrade
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are a family that have always loved shark and ninja products. They always try to balance innovation with a tried and true design. With everyone trying to one up each other Ninja has always tried to innovate without forgetting what makes their products so good and reliable and I appreciate that and this is no different. I think you can only go so far with an air fryer but maybe not. Ninja updated the visuals which was a good thing as this blends much better visually with the current trends. The stacking design is definitely a game changer especially when counter space is at a premium. I also love that both chambers now are completely independent of each other as on the previous version you were still sacrificing heat and cook times when using one drawer. Feature wise it’s very much the same as previous generations and that’s a good thing. The improvements they have made is game changing. Cooking times are improved and the new rack system is great. Sometimes small improvements wind up bigger than what shows up on a specs sheet. Nice work Ninja.

Ninja DoubleStack XL: Space-Saving and Versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja DoubleStack XL 10 QT, 6-in-1, 2-Basket Air Fryer has quickly become a favorite in my kitchen. With its space-saving design and ability to cook multiple foods simultaneously, it’s a versatile appliance that has transformed how I prepare meals. At first glance, its stacked design might seem unconventional, but it cleverly maximizes counter space while offering the functionality of two air fryers in one compact unit. This is particularly beneficial for smaller kitchens like mine, where counter space is always at a premium. What sets the Ninja DoubleStack XL apart is its DoubleStack Air Frying technology. This innovation allows you to cook up to four different foods at once, thanks to the stacked meal racks. These racks create two levels per basket, ensuring that superheated air surrounds each food item for an all-around crisp. I found this especially useful when preparing a variety of dishes for a family meal, as I could cook proteins and vegetables simultaneously without compromising on texture or flavor. One of the standout features is the Smart Finish and Match Cook options. The Smart Finish feature synchronizes the cooking times for different foods, so everything finishes cooking at the same time. This has been a game-changer for my meal prep, as it eliminates the guesswork and ensures a coordinated, hot meal. On the other hand, the Match Cook feature is perfect for larger, single-batch meals, easily replicating settings across both baskets for full 10-QT capacity. The DoubleStack is not just about functionality; it’s also about efficiency. With six versatile cooking programs—Air Fry, Air Broil, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate—it has replaced several appliances in my kitchen. I particularly enjoy the Air Broil function, which gives my dishes a beautiful, crispy finish without the need for excess oil. This air fryer claims to reduce fat by up to 75% compared to traditional frying methods, and in my experience, the results are just as delicious and much healthier. My initial skepticism about the new design was quickly dispelled after testing it with various meals. One of my first tests was cooking chicken and waffle fries. Despite my concerns about even heat distribution with the heating elements positioned at the back, the DoubleStack cooked everything uniformly. The chicken tenders were evenly cooked, with no noticeable difference between those placed at the front and back of the basket. Cleaning up after cooking is a breeze with the DoubleStack. The baskets and crisper plates are easy to clean and dishwasher-safe, which is a huge plus for someone like me who prefers minimal cleanup. This ease of cleaning has made the air fryer an even more integral part of my cooking routine, as I’m not deterred by the prospect of a lengthy clean-up process after meals. Over the past week, I’ve used the DoubleStack to prepare a handful of different meals, and it consistently delivers impressive results. Whether I'm cooking chicken, fish, vegetables, potatoes, or even experimenting with baking, the outcomes are always satisfying. The ability to double stack food has also reduced my reliance on the microwave and stovetop, streamlining my cooking process significantly. In conclusion, the Ninja DoubleStack XL has exceeded my expectations in every way. Its innovative design, versatile functionality, and efficiency make it an invaluable addition to any kitchen. While the smaller basket volume means I often use both baskets for a full meal, the convenience of cooking multiple items at once far outweighs this minor drawback. For anyone looking to enhance their cooking experience with a reliable, space-saving appliance, I highly recommend the Ninja DoubleStack XL.

Almost Gave It A Low 3 Stars
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have love ninja products for quite some time now, so I was excited when I seen the double stack with two baskets instead of just the one! I have a few ninja products that I have purchased over the years and still used to this day. I'm trying to eat a little bit more healthier nowadays, so I try to find better foods to eat and better ways to cook them. Air frying your foods are one of the simplest ways to help lower calories. So when I received the air fryer, I was anxious to look at what I normally look at first which is the recipes. And all the recipes were pretty simple and straightforward, so I figured I would Cook one of the things I love to cook the most, which is a skinless chicken breast. I usually make these in one of my other ninja products all the time, and I wanted to see how much simpler it could be with this air fryer. The first thing I did was open up the booklet with the recipes in there, and seen that to fully cooked the chicken breast you would need to temperature at 390°. So I popped it into one of the baskets set the settings to broil, the time to 30 minutes the recipe says and push start. So when the air fryer beeped, I opened it up and pulled out the chicken to find it was overcooked and somewhat dry. So I thought that I originally had it set too high and thought that I didn't do 30 minutes and thought I made a mistake. So I plopped in another piece of chicken and did 30 minutes again with the same result. So at this point, I was going to rush and do the review for this at 3 stars. I decided to continue cooking a few more meals and not looking at any of the recipes Time limits and set my own, and the food came out perfect! So after cooking chicken legs, chicken thighs, Country style ribs, and a hamburger that all came out perfect, I decided to change what I was going to originally rate at 3 stars to five stars! My recommendation to whoever wants to buy one of these, is not to follow the recipes Time limits.

Good size...but
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, so this is a REALLY nice air fryer...but I think it should be a little bit bigger. Hear me out. Okay so let's start with the size of each tray, they are not nearly as big as I thought they would be. But they are still big. The pictures shown, make them look really huge. So knowing that, I still think they are a decent size. Whole chicken though? Maybe a small whole chicken, not a big one at all. You can for sure stuff a medium size chicken in there, but you will not be able to get anything bigger than that in there for it to cook properly. The trays are nice and deep when you remove the grills inside, so that is good. You will be able to cook a LOT of food in there, and it cooks evenly too. Cooking instructions: They are very simple, just look on the box or look on the fryer. They are listed all over it. I like that too, but after a few uses...you will be able to decide how long you want to cook your food to your taste like all things. Food takes great, and is not greasy at all. Like most air fryers, they cook your food quickly and it comes out great every time. The price is very competitive for what you get, and this is a well known brand for high quality products. Build quality is strong, and solid. No issues. Buttons are tight, and easy to understand. This is a solid purchase to add on to your kitchen collections, it's worth it. Buy it now...

Almost perfect....
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this is an excellent air fryer. Ninja makes excellent products and this is no different. The only personal drawback for me is the design of the control panel. Again for me personally, I wish it could have been more strategically placed. Maybe across the top or something. So that is the only reason I gave four stars instead of five. Otherwise this is a very powerful and effective cooker. You can do it all with this unit. Cook in dual mode, cook 4 things at once and even time multiple items to be done at the same time. The metal trays that come with it are extremely handy. It allows you the comfort of being able to actually separately cook your choices without having things clumped together in one pot. You can also broil, dehydrate, air fry, reheat bake and even air broil. I've made chicken, hamburgers, fries some minor baking and it all came out perfect. It also comes with a nice recipe book to show what all you can do with this particular fryer. You definately need to review the instructions to make sure you are setting up everything the right way. As a man who doesn't like to use instructions, lol, this time it was very necessary. Now that I know what im doing, makes the product that much more versatile in all the cooking I will be using this for. I honestly like using this more than my oven. Definitely recommended.

Good for set and forget cooking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My desire for a multi-zone air fryer grew substantially once I had more than one child. The ability to cook more than one thing at a time whether it be because they feel like different food or I'm cooking some dino nuggets and tater tots, this makes things a lot more convenient.. once I reorient myself to cook times, that is. Setup was as simple as plugging it in. There's a nice quickstart guide included that gives you the run down on a lot of types of foods and the timing suggestions for them. They give you a timing suggestion if you're only using a single zone and another one if you're using both because you basically have to double the cook time. Using the controls is fairly intuitive.. to me. I didn't have any issues. But I can see how some people might be a bit confused. You have to select a zone, then turn the wheel to select the type is cooking you're doing, then when you want to adjust the temperature and time, you need to press the temp and time buttons to adjust those. Then you can set up another zone if you're cooking multiple things. Once you're done with all that, you can select a "smart" cook option if you want to set up another zone so it'll keep the zone with less time on hold until the timer on the other zone gets to the same point. Another nice thing is the included wire trays that separate each zone into two. So you can feasibly cook 4 different things at once if you plan it right. The top is supposed to come out crispier than the bottom and they include more suggestions about what kind of things you can cook in the same zone together. Cleanup is pretty nice and easy. Most of the air fryers I've use in the past have been things with flip up lids or mini oven styles. I feel like the pull out tray style is more common but I've never used them before. It's very nice to be able to just pull out the dirty compartment to clean it and put it back. A couple downsides.. Like a lot of other Ninja gadgets, the beeping noises when starting up are obnoxiously loud. It's not the first or only Ninja cooker like this and I don't understand why it needs to be so loud when you just turn it on or it starts to heat up. It's not a deal breaker but it's striking every time I use them. The hot air that gets spewed out of the sides while the unit is cooking really does warm up the area around it so you need to be careful what you have nearby and that there's enough space around it to vent. With cooking times up in the 40+ minute range, it's not in insignificant amount of time to be heating up your house. Overall, once you get used to some new cook times, the convenience of being able to cook a bunch of different foods at the same time is really nice. It might take longer to cook so you need to plan ahead a little bit more, but since most of the food is easy to set and forget while it's cooking, that's not really a big deal. If you're in the market for an air fryer or find your current air fryer limiting by how much you can cook at the same time, this might be one for you to look at.

Love Ninja but this is a poor air fryer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this air fryer as a Christmas gift for my wife. We love ninja and have the Foodi 14 in 1. Its such a great air fry experience that this was a perfect compliment to make a full meal. It is compact and for a small amount of counter space we get two air fryers in one! We have used it aeveral times before New Years and its easier, fastr, and with better results, to use the oven. Heres an example. In our foodi 14-in-1, it takes 7 minutes at 360 degrees to make up some mozarella sticks, perfectly crispy. After preheating this up, it still took 14 minutes at 375 degrees to cook these through and they still werent crispy. This is with the lower tray, the higher position and using the racks. We have cooked four different things in this and all of them take forever to cook and still arent crispy. For all of the food we cooked, they were strangely undercooked and took 2 to 3 times longer than they should have. We are returning this and will try another. There are a number of reddit posts about this same issue. Poor design as it seems the air doesnt circulate properly around the food, since the heating element is at the back. This is my first Ninja product (of very many) that is a pass. Uts a great idea and exactly what we want, if it worked right.
