Let me just start with the obvious, this is a novelty appliance that I really thought we'd use a couple times with friends and then it would sit idle. However, we've actually found ourselves using it in those situations and then using it for several other bonuses/treats just for the family because it's so easy and convenient to use. Setting Up: It could not be easier to set up straight out of the box. It comes pre-assembled, you remove a few pieces of shipping tape and plug it it. That's it. We chose to wash everything before the first use (and it tells you to do so). It's so easy to disassemble and reassemble that you won't mind. First Use: We went simple and did a straight lemonade slushy to begin with. The instructions are simple. You pour a liquid in, tell it what consistency you want along with what kind of liquid is going in and the machine starts running. About 20-30 minutes later, the slushies were ready to be eaten and they did not disappoint. No adding ice, no long start-up time, no fuss at all. You put your cup under the spigot, pull the handle and it slowly feeds into your glass. Couldn't be easier. First Clean-Up: We'd already taken it apart to wash it before the first use, but this time there was left over slushy and we werent sure how that was going to go. We were not disappointed! You rotate a handle and the holding tube slide out, but if you do that with any liquid inside it will pour out. So Ninja did the intelligent thing and put a reservoir at the bottom to catch that liquid. It is removable and slides right out so you can dump it without causing a mess. I recommend removing everything over the sink as we had too much for the reservoir to safely hold. It's lightweight and is really easy to move to the sink. Subsequent Uses: Since that first use, we've used it to make alcoholic drinks and vanilla milkshakes. The alcohol drinks take just a few more minutes to slush, but they taste great and are blended to a great consistency. It has an alcohol sensor that will alert you to too much alcohol in the mix, but we never ran into that. Milkshakes are great as well, but there is one caveat. You have to use sugar in the mix as stated in the instructions. We didn't try sugar free, but we did use 2% milk and a low calorie heavy cream. There is also a low sugar sensor, but we didn't run into that either so it must be pretty flexible. Final Overview: While the size is a bit bulky to have on your countertops all the time, it is still compact enough to pull out when needed. It holds 88oz of drinks and you can add more to it as you use it making it virtually endless. Not having to add ice or other thickeners is great and allows it to be a quiet machine that can just run in the background while you're visiting with friends or family. It allows for alcohol, but is definitely not limited to only adult drinks. It's dishwasher safe, easy to disassemble and reassemble, and works quickly in my opinion. It's everything you want in a slushy maker and I bet you find yourself using it more than you think you will!

It can be as simple as pouring in soft drinks hitting one button. It also comes with a pretty good recipe/idea book to make more complicated slush drinks. The preset buttons cover pretty much any kind of frozen drink you may want to make, and you can use the manual override to make it colder or not, should you choose. It certainly isn't a silent machine, but I didn't find it terribly loud. It's similar to a stand-mixer on low. Cleanup isn't too bad as it's quick to rinse out and fully cleaning the tank and refrigeration cylinder takes about 5 minutes. My biggest complaint about it is the instruction/recipe book doesn't have much info on low fat or low sugar recipes. You can't simply use a diet beverage with only artificial sweeteners because then the mixture freezes too quickly and you end up with ice chunks instead of smooth slush ( or the machine just ices over ). Sugars and fats in the beverage lower the freezing point so the mixture freezes at a desirable rate. The only info you get in the book is that a minimum of 1g sugar to 1oz of liquid is required. However, even that amount seems too low for a lot of things I've tried, and the machine still ices up. If you want lower calorie slushes, you'll have to do a lot of experimentation. The machine lists a maximum capacity of 64oz, and you tend to get best results when using large batches. A minimum of 16oz is required, though I've found it more prone to icing up around the cooling cylinder with small batches, even when using official recipes. The front of the helix paddle also has a hollow between the blades where ice tends to gather, making it hard to get all the slush out of the tank and into a glass. Other considerations are that this is a large and heavy machine, so it takes up quite a bit or counter space and isn't the easiest to move to storage. But if you're someone who really likes frozen drinks and doesn't mind paying for a specialty kitchen appliance, the SLUSHi mostly delivers on its promises.

I didn’t buy this through Best Buy because it is never in stock, but I was able to get this elsewhere and it is a huge hit! From frozhe mimosas to milkshakes to slush drinks and more, this is a must have. Easy set up, easy clean up, straight to the point directions.

I have purchased many slushie makers trying to find that commercial grade replicator at a reasonable price- this is it! Love how you can literally do anything from a slushie lens. The milkshake was not as good as something youd get out, but still decent quality. It over delivers on slushie expectation and makes the perfect one everytime.

My review is not for the actual machine since I have yet to be able to use it. Unfortunately, the ninja slushie box came with a large hole in it, as it looks like someone may have got mad and tried to kick the box in with the size of it, or maybe they just threw it around alot during delivery. Its not just the outside packing box, but both it and the actual machine box. Since I'm not sure if this could have actually did some damage to it, instead of risking it and ending up with issues with the machine, I'll be returning it to try and get a new one.

Great product wanted one for a long time and great price and arrived on time

Last year, it was the creami. This year the slushi takes the crown for the 2024 not needed but most wanted appliance. Great for summer parties outdoor with friends and family.

Milkshake and slushie machine, spiked drinks doesn't work well

Why did you guys increase the price? I understand demand, but to raise it $50 after it took forever to get back in stock is wrong. I had it in my save for later ever since the holidays. Now, I wont be buying this.
