The Shark - SpeedStyle™ Pro FLEX Professional Performance High-Velocity Hair Dryer System is amazing. First of all, it is lightweight which makes drying very long, thick hair so much easier. It is compact and during drying does not feel heavy or cumbersome. This is a plus when drying times are longer. It also has so many great attachments. I have naturally wavy hair, so I use the diffuser if I want to dry my hair and keep the natural wave. The diffuser keeps the hair from blowing all over the place which keeps the hair wavy. When straightening my hair, I use the narrow drying tip to direct airflow down from the root to the tip. This allows for quicker drying and less fly aways. For an ultra-sleek finish I use the smoothing attachment that magically lessens the static and fly aways from already straightened hair. This tool is amazing. Not sure how it works, but it does. My blow out looks smooth and sleek. The brush attachment works great for curling the ends under and for a thorough blow dry. It helps accelerate the drying time and controls the airflow through the hair. Overall, this is an amazing hair dryer. It is light weight and easy to switch the different attachments to achieve different looks and styles. I also like how fast my hair dries with this hair dryer. I would highly recommend it for those who have long, wavy or straight hair.

When choosing a product, it comes down to it doing what you want it to do and the quality of the product. The Shark - SpeedStyle™ Pro FLEX Professional Performance High-Velocity Hair Dryer System doesn’t disappoint in quality and design. The “fit and finish” is superb. The Shark - SpeedStyle™ Pro FLEX Professional Performance High-Velocity Hair Dryer comes in different sets of combinations of attachments. Mine came with the FrizzFighter Finishing Tool, QuickSmooth Brush, Turbo Concentrator and DefrizzFast Diffuser. In addition, there are a couple of other attachments that were not part of my combination pack. The attachments are, of course, primarily there to help dry and style different types of hair – it’s not a one-size-fits-all product, nor should it be. By the way, when you attach one of the attachments to the dryer, the IQ function built into the dryer automatically sets the heat/air flow for that particular attachment. Of course, you can then set the heat and air flow buttons to your own preference if needed. I especially liked the ability to fold the dryer’s handle up and pack it away. The first time I tried folding the handle, it took a minute to figure it out. By the way, the Styling Guide booklet that comes with it explains everything you need to know very well, but it helps if you read it first! Because I have very fine straight hair, I love the FrizzFighter Finishing Tool. It helped to lay down the fly-aways giving my hair a shiny, sleek finished look. It took a few times using it to learn how to get a style that looked sleek and not flat. My suggestion is to use an appropriate hair product before styling your hair. The dryer is powerful, but you have control of the airflow and heat with easy-to-use buttons on the dryer handle. This allows for quick hair drying without damage from too much heat. In terms of improving the design, I feel that repositioning the Cool Shot button in the dryer handle would be helpful. The way I hold the dryer (nearer the top of the handle) I found that my thumb would often hit the Cool Shot button when I didn’t intend to do so. Another suggestion would be to reduce the stiffness and thickness of the power cord, if possible, to enable easier packing away – the present cord size may be necessary because of the powerful dryer, but the cord situation should be looked at by Shark to see if improvement is possible. What makes me pick “This unit over THAT” is the build quality and hair styling variations built into the Shark - SpeedStyle™ Pro FLEX Professional Performance High-Velocity Hair Dryer System. This system will last a long time, and if I choose to change my hair style, it will flex with me!

I got this for my wife, wanted to upgrade what she was using. It has been off and on working as well as she wanted, then not. Wanted to return but the return period ended after 14 days, which is not enough.

The Shark SpeedStyle PRO Flex is a fast, sturdy hair dryer with a sleek look and relatively small size. The handle swivels so that it more easily fits in a drawer or suitcase. The heavy-duty cord would likely reduce the chance of it kinking and wire damage, which offers an added safety benefit, although the heavy cord does add to the overall weight of the dryer. The cord does include a loop for hanging the hair dryer on a hook. The model I reviewed comes with four attachments—a Frizzfighter Finishing Tool, Quicksmooth Brush (half brush), Defrizzfast Diffuser, and a Turbo Concentrator. All easily and securely attached to the dryer and easily removed by clicking a button. Depending on hair type, you may find some attachments more useful than others. I have fine hair just below shoulder length. Both the concentrator and the half-brush attachment pivot, making them more ergonomic. The finishing tool does not pivot and seems a little more difficult to use, and its rubber edge tends to grab my hair. The defuser has extendable prongs for use with thick hair. Although very sturdy, the diffuser feels heavy to me (6.9 oz.). The manual includes photos and descriptions for additional attachments that users may purchase separately, including a full brush, which would be useful for my hair type. The box and product labels include QR codes to videos showing how to use the attachments and maintain the hair dryer, including instructions on how to clean the filter. The ability to disassemble the filter and clean it is a new feature for me. Regular maintenance should help reduce the risk of overheating and extend the life of the dryer. The Shark SpeedStyle PRO Flex includes three settings for air flow and three settings for temperature. The lowest speed seems quieter than a typical hair dryer, while providing a strong enough airflow to dry my hair quickly. The highest speed setting is loud and has a high-pitched whine, which terrifies my pets. To me, the highest temperature setting is too hot, even though the dryer has a Scalp Shield Mode. In short, the Shark SpeedStyle PRO Flex is a durable, relatively small, visually appealing, fast-drying hair dryer. But, as with almost any product, it comes with a few cons, which, for me, include the weight of the dryer (in spite of its size), excessive heat, and cost.

Shark recommends that you dry your hair 80% by using the dryer with or without the diffuser. Then fully dry your hair using the attachment that works best for your hair type—a concentrator for straight styles; a smoothing brush for volume; a frizz fighter tool for finishing straight or straightened hair. Some users will find they still need to use a straightening or curling iron after drying their hair. This hair dryer is quiet. All you hear is the air flow; there is no loud or high-pitched motor noise. The dryer is compact and folds for storage and has a heavy duty power cord with a velcro keeper. With all of the attachments and the high price point, you might expect the package to include a storage case. Sadly, a case is not included. Shark offers the optional Shark Beauty Storage bag for an extra cost. I tried the Shark SpeedStyle Pro FLEX on thick, shoulder-length hair. It dried the hair quickly. The turbo concentrator tool was easy to use, much like those on other hair dryers. The frizz fighter took a little more practice and the hair looked great, until hair was exposed to high humidity and the frizz was back in a few minutes (I live in the humid South). With the Shark hair dryer system, like with other hair dryers, I recommend using a styling product to protect hair before you dry it, and hairspray or another finishing product on the dried hair. While this hair dryer's name says "Pro," and offers professional drying and styling features, it is labeled for home use only. From my wife: "I have very long hair and my biggest issue is the amount of time it takes to dry my hair as well as the concern for heat damage. I usually let my hair air dry because I simply do not have the time. And my hair gets very unhappy if it is over dried or heated too much. After having a baby and with the greys starting to increase my hair has become a bit more porous and sensitive to different conditions. My biggest issue with attachments is that they usually take too long and the damage from brushing my hair with the tools when wet. This dryer addresses all those issues and I’m very very happy with it. The power setting is amazing. The low, medium and high are actually low, medium and high. The heat setting and the cooling are also just on point. I love that it folds and rotates to take up less space. That’s the biggest gripe I have with most dryers is that they are so bulky and hard to store. The one brush attachment has boar bristles on it along side with the hard plastic bristles so it really helps to protect my hair and keep it from getting frizzy. The smoothing attachment actually smooths. I still need to play with it all a bit more to perfect it but for the first time I have a dryer that is strong enough to actually separate my strands and dry my hair in a short period of time. The one thing is it is definitely is a different kind of loud than most other dryers and has a higher pitched whine like a vaccum almost. So for those sensitive to auditory stuff may want to take that into consideration. Overall I’m very happy with this dryer.

The compact fold-up design makes for easy travel and storage. It is also relatively light weight which also is a big plus. I like the fact that it comes with a long cord (about 9 feet) with a built-in Velcro strap to keep it neat when storing. I’m not sure what the purpose is but there is a large block about 12” from the plug built into the cord that can make it a little bulky though. It dries hair quickly yet does not feel overly hot. I find that I am spending less time drying than I had been with my old hair dryer. There are 3 heat settings and 3 fan speed settings along with a cool shot button to turn off heat while depressed. Overall it is one of the quietest units that I have ever used. The scalp shield sounds fancy, but it mainly just seems to be a heat setting lower than low along with some fancy blue additional lights that come on. The 4 attachments are really nice, and I wish that some sort of bag was included to hold them all. The ones I find the most useful are the QuickSmooth brush which does a great job keeping hair nice and straight and the Turbo Concentrator for getting the job done in a hurry. I’ve tried the FrizzFighter attachment a couple of times on my daughter’s hair which is really frizzy and was happy with how it helped tame her hair and made it much easier to style. Overall, it is one of the best hair dryers that I’ve ever used, however, it is a pretty big investment if you are used to the thirty dollar commodity variety.

For those who have never handled a Shark SpeedStyle product, it is a huge upgrade over the standard $30-$50 TJ Maxx hairdryer. Besides giving you better temperature controls and MUCH better air velocity, the build quality is much higher. The lifespan of these products should be much much longer. One should expect to get well over 7 years of life if this product is handled well. This product has excellent velocity, I love having the speed control buttons, and the flexing allows for much easier storage and travel possibilities compared to hairdyers which don't fold (this isn't exactly a common feature). Even with the high air velocity, the noise levels of SpeedStyle products is not bad at all. I am the very proud owner of a Shark SpeedStyle RapidGloss (model HD331). Excellent product. High quality as well. This Shark SpeedStyle Pro Flex improves upon that product in a couple categories, most notably is the flex feature of the head and the added attachment. Interestingly, I literally bought the diffuser attachment for the RapidGloss only a month ago since I really needed it, so it was nice to see that it was included with this package - that right there is worth $30 (as crazy as that sounds). Shark always seems like the gimmicky brand you'll see on QVC, but trust me, they make high quality products that are worth the price and the SpeedStyle Pro FLEX is another successful product.

If one were ever going to feel intimidated by a hair dryer... this would probably be the one to fear. At first glance, there doesn't seem to be that much to the SpeedStyle. It's about half the size of a normal hair dryer, and only gets smaller when folded. It's relatively lightweight. And when you turn it on, it's not particularly loud. The moment you actually point it at your head, however, any illusions about what it is will quickly be blown away. In terms of both wind speed and heat the dryer packs an impressive amount of power - and with the right attachments, it can also make for a great styling tool. To give you some example of my use case, I have fairly short. fine hair that's quite thick around the edges and thinning somewhat at the top. My girlfriend, meanwhile, has long hair which is much more coarse and significantly thicker overall. This dryer works very well on both - albeit requiring very different attachments and settings. The ability to dramatically dial down the heat and rely only on air movement for drying makes it a lot more tolerable on my scalp than pretty much any other dryer I've used, and makes styling it after a shower significantly easier. And in my girlfriend's case, it can give her even more volume than she already has with a minimum of fuss. There are a few downsides that one might want to consider, though. First up is perhaps somewhat obvious, but there's a definite learning curve to this that I don't think you get with most hair dryers. Shark has done their best to hold your hand through the process. Every attachment has a QR code attached which can take you to an online tutorial explaining what it's for and how it's to be used, and there's a booklet included explaining the basic function of every one available for the unit. The second thing to be aware of is that they've only included the attachments for some of the most common hair types. If your hair is straight, lightly styled, or thick and curly, you are definitely going to be covered. You may need to invest in some more parts though if you have really wavy hair or loose curls.

The Shark speedstyle Pro Flex is a hairdryer with an attitude. It’s a one stop shop for all or your hair drying needs. First let me say, I was not blessed with wavy locks of hair. However, I was blessed with two girls who are very into how their hair looks and seem to always want to change it in some way. One day they want curls, the next its something straight or whatever. I hear them fuss all of the time about getting their hair just right. Well, the Shark Speedstyle Pro Flex can address a whole lot of their issues. This hairdryer comes with a multitude of attachments for just about any type of hair. If you want to eliminate frizz, there is a tool for that. If you want to add volume and smooth your hair, well, there is also a tool for that. It even has a diffuser that can produce bouncy curls if that is what you are looking for. And as a hair dryer, it also dries your hair. The Shark also has what they call scalp mode, which seems to me like an automatic way for the dryer to adjust its temperature and air speed so that it can dry your hair without damaging it. The unit specifies that it can measure and regulate temperature 1,000 times per second and that temperatures will never exceed 230 degrees. The Shark also folds easily for storage without taking up a lot of room. Looking at the packaging, there are other attachments available that can be purchased separately , so this dryer can really become the only hairstyling took you may need. Now, the only fussing I am hearing from my girls is when is it going to be my turn to use the Shark. If you are looking for a way to tame that head of hair you have, then this unit holds a lot of promise.

It comes with most all the attachments anyone would need. The following attachments were included in the box: The FrizzFighter Finishing Tool, the QuickSmooth Brush, the Turbo Concentrator and the DefrizzFast Diffuser. The only attachment that was not included was the Flex Express Touchup Brush. We love that it’s compact enough to fold up and fit in the drawer. Also the DefrizzFast Diffuser works really well and its great that you can adjust it. The scalp cooling feature works really well and makes drying our hair much easier as well as faster while protecting the scalp. The first time my wife used it, her hair looked so good it was like she had been to the salon. She was extremely impressed. She said it saved her so much time and made her hair feel good. It brought out her natural curls. There are plenty combinations of heat and speed settings as well.. There is an auto shutoff feature for safety and a nice heavy duty cord that is 8 foot long. The two year warranty that is provided shows that it will be a long lasting, well backed product. This dryer seems like a lot of bang for the bucks.

Kira Elyse Earnest 5 stars! I love this hair dryer so much– It’s lightweight, compact, and is very easy to use. All of the components were labeled and showed exactly how to use them and each part had its own QR code with a how-to tutorial. Whether your hair is curly, long, straight, wavy, or short, there is a way for you to style your hair in an easy, comfortable and quick way. As someone who has short straight hair, it was a little difficult for me to use the diffuser, however, if you are someone with longer hair, who likes it wavy, I’m certain you will have more luck than me. Aside from the attachments, there are many other ways to adjust the dryer. There is a fan button on a scale of 1-3 and a heat button ranging 0-3. All of the different settings are adaptive and depending which attachment you use, the dryer will adjust itself. Not to mention the scalp shield button is VERY handy! I HIGHLY recommend you try this out because it is super quick, efficient, and fully customizable for every person's needs!

Love size of hair dryer and that it folds up. Unfortunately, the power bank attached to the cord is very cumbersome and kept banging into the wall as I was drying my hair. Did like that there was an attachment on the hair dryer base so you can hang it Packaging was nicely presented and it was easy to remove all the pieces. I liked that each attachment had the directions on them or link to a video tutorial. I was impressed on how easy it was to add and remove each attachment. I used the brush and defrizzer. Amazing. Without even a lot of heat it smoothed my hair quickly. The brush attachment was easy to use and it’s great that you can rotate it 360 degrees. I was impressed that the directions showed the “cool” spots on where to hold when taking attachments off. Being relatively light weight, able to use it for a longe period of time, to style and maintain my hair. The base unit is smaller than our previous hair dryer, so it can sit easily on our counter and not need an elaborate storage.

I really can’t overstate how much I like the fact that this thing is so compact. I don’t have much bathroom space, and my previous hair dryer dominated a drawer all by itself and it’s attachments. The fact that this thing is so compact has absolutely helped with cutting down on clutter. Honestly, if your bathroom is cramped; I’d recommend it on that alone. However, there’s a lot more to like here than just that. It’s got solid construction and performance, but it can also tell what tip you connected to it and adjust the settings accordingly so you don’t absentmindedly melt your hair or use a temperature too low to be helpful via the IQ mode. That’ll also help keep you from burning your scalp. It comes with all the tips I’m used to for a hair dryer, and all of those are compact as well without being too small to be useful. Overall, I liked using this thing. I have really thick hair, and it was able to get it dry before my arm started to hurt from holding the dryer up, so I’m pretty happy with it. It also looks like it’ll be a lot easier to pack for any trips I go on, which is a plus. I’d absolutely recommend this, especially if you need to save space in your bathroom.

Holy Moly at the power of this little thing! I’ve tried and enjoyed some other smaller hair dryers and their power could not touch this one’s power. I have shoulder length, actually about an inch and a half past my shoulders, naturally very wavy hair and a lot of it. My strands aren’t necessarily thick, but I have a lot of hair and drying it tends to be something that I have to really budget some time for. This has cut my previous routines by, at least, a third of the time. I took it with me when I traveled for work and loved how easy it was to rough dry my hair, without any of the attachments, and then go about getting ready before finishing up. I REALLY like the concentrator attachment as it’s super easy to maneuver around and use with a round brush to completely straighten my hair. Also, the smoother attachment is awesome when you just want to touch up and keep some volume. I’m not great about watching videos and/or tutorials to “learn new tricks” but I love the idea and each attachment comes with a QR sticker that you can scan for ideas to try out. I also LOVE that the dryer completely folds on itself, it’s SO easy to pack and go!

This is a very slick and useful hair dryer. First, it comes with 4 different attachments, including one for curls. The unit itself is slick with it able to fold at its handle in the most unusual way. It has speed and heat setting, including "scalp protection" which reduces heat to not burn your scalp but still providing air. The hairdryer is very quiet and makes more of a sonic sucking sound unlike most other hair dryers. It does work quickly and does a decent job as hair dryers go. The assortment of attachments also go a long way to customizing how you want to dry and style your hair. A females (and males) dream ! I will say that this is one of the highest possible heat hair dryers I have used, which probably explains all the levels and scalp protection. One thing I noticed, is that aside from the GFI plug, it also has an additional 'box' along the power wire which is about the size of a remote. This does add some issues to moving around the cord, but so far that is all. All in all, this has to be fanciest hair dryer I have used, besides the vacuum cleaner brand. It works and hopefully to an advantage....its quick !
