Amazing Picture

I had to get a different stand to put it on. I do like the fact that the stand or feet are in the middle, instead of on the ends. It made finding the right stand easier. I considered mounting it, but decided to go with the stand. The initial setup was easy. I have a Samsung phone, so that made it even better. I already had a Samsung sound bar, so syncing everything together was pretty simple. It took about 30 minutes for me to get everything set up and connected. Now for the picture quality. The picture is amazing. I feel like I can reach out and touch everything on the screen. The colors are very vibrant and crisp. I am very pleased with the picture quality. Watching movies on the screen is amazing. I am in love with this screen. I have another Samsung TV, but this TV’s screen is much better, far superior. I haven’t hooked up the PlayStation to this TV yet, to see how games look on it, but I am sure that will be awesome. Adding all of my streaming services was effortless. It is very easy to navigate this smart TV. I’m still playing with it, and learning all of the features. The sound is great, I added a soundbar for sound effects for my movies, but it was not a necessity. The sound quality is very good without it. The TV is heavy, but not too bad. The packaging made it seem heavier than it actually was. It was a little cumbersome to get out the box. It took 2 of us to get it out of the box, put feet on, and put on the stand. Overall, I am very pleased with this TV. It has amazing color and sound. It is very nice. I highly recommend this TV. Great job Samsung!!!

Why Did I Wait so Long?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This Samsung S84D OLED SmartTV offers excellent color, picture and resolution. The picture is more than bright enough for my very sunny west facing living room. This 77 in TV is both big and heavy but quite beautiful - having a very thin bezel. Assembly was complicated by one stand leg failing to stay snapped in place whenever we lifted the TV, but a little strip of masking tape took care of that. The TV was heavy enough that it took all of our combined strength to get it positioned on top of the TV cabinet. I suspect mounting it on the wall might be even more challenging. Regardless of how or where you mount it, you are most definitely going to enjoy it - hopefully as much as do I. The Tizen UI is a bit different from what I am accustomed to, but it is still quite intuitive to use and provides a wealth of useful functions to assist in making a viewing selection or changing the TV configuration. Adding apps is easy but not all of my favorite apps were available. Fortunately, my streaming devices (Roku 4K, Blu-ray player) were also easy to get connected and provided the missing app. I am not a gamer, so cannot offer any advice about it's suitability for that. The out of the box TV sound is pretty good but improved considerably when I connected my Q Symphony eligible Samsung 5.1 soundbar. Once connected and configured, the TV rendered incredibly good sound for TV shows, movies, and music by combining both TV speakers and soundbar speakers. The unlit remote is quite compact yet still provides all needed functions. However, it did take me a while to figure out that the volume and channel buttons are actually levers. Pushing the volume lever will mute or unmute the audio while leaning that lever up will increase audio volume and leaning it down will reduce the same. This TV is considered by the manufacturer to be an entry level OLED TV, but it seems high end to me and I am quite pleased with it. I hope it lasts a long time.

Quality OLED at Reasonable Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Samsung S84D TV is a mid range 4K OLED tv that features a high end picture and utilizes the TIZEN operating system. I have a couple of other OLED TVs including a more expensive Samsung and an LG. The picture quality on the S84D is better than the LG and at least as good as the Samsung. The picture is sharp and bright even with non 4K content, contrast is excellent, blacks are true blacks as with OLED tv, and motion for sports, games, etc. are handled well. Although Dolby Vision is not supported, movies and youtube videos are amazing with the HDR10 support. The TIZEN operating system is a homegrown operating system that can replace Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, etc. with additional hardware support. I found the TIZEN operation system to be fast and easy to use and navigate and all major apps seemed to be supported. In summary, I find the OLED Samsung S84D tv to be an excellent performer and an excellent value. If you are looking for great picture quality and great performance, it is hard to beat.

Too small remote.

It also needs a contrasting color to show the directional arrows. It is not very user friendly due to being so small and all black in color.

Terrible quality.

I'm confused about a majority of these comments that praise the quality, it's giving LCD 2010. I don't understand if whether I have a falty tv or this is the image the tv produces. It's very pixelated. I have to adjust the colors every time I watch a different movie. It's annoying. I tried changing the aspect ratio, it's the most difficult thing to do I don't know why. The colors were not impressive even with the boost. It was good for some movies, and not others. I'm coming from a 2020 Bravia which is pretty outdated, and I think my Bravia produces better quality than this TV. I'm exchanging this for the C4 LG next, hopefully it meets expectations.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the picture quality of your S84D TV. To ensure you’ve got the latest image quality updates, please confirm that your TV is up to date with the latest firmware version. You can check by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
If the picture you’re seeing is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.
Go to Home > left direction button > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments
2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments
3. Eco: Provided to save energy
4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room
5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).

VERY POOR DELIVERY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid BEST BUY DIRECTLY $259.00 to have a Samsung - 77” Class S84D Series 4K OLED Smart Tizen TV delivered and set-up at my home. The TV weighs 77 pounds and measures 67.5" wide and 41.7" high. When the BEST BUY contracted gentleman arrived at my home he was alone. I asked him if he had any help and he saiud "no". I asked if he needed my help and he said "yes". I am 67 years old and have surgery scheduled for a hernia in 3 days. I did not pay BEST BUY $259.00 for delivery and set-up to do this work. I paid them to have them either do the work or have their contracted representativeS do the work. This is a totally UNACCEPTABLE RIP OFF!!! My hernia enlarged due to the lifting and I did not get what I paid for. I am certain BEST BUY will place the blame on the contractor but I paid the money DIRECTLY to Best Buy. when I made the purchase. Be weary of dealing with these folks. Hopefully they don't expect a frail 95 year old man or woman to help when they deliver something to them as well. A VERY IRATE X CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a Great OLED Tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return this OLED model,because picture quality didn't compare to my my SAMSUNG 55inch QN85 Neo picture.which is much brighter and clearer! This is the lowest model OLED series from Samsung that's why it has the lowest price. Definitely not worth the so called original $3200 list price. I have a older LG OLED That still out performs This Samsung OLED MODEL!

best buy constantly cheats in real price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't understand why people are being deceived: this TV cost 3300 and I got a 50% discount (1700), and after a while I see that the price has changed and the real price is 1700 and it turns out that I was given a discount of only 200 dollars, not 1700. But the TV is good, but not perfect. Sometimes there are slowdowns and image distortion. best buy constantly deceives in the real price of the cost of goods and this is not the first time
