Very easy to assemble and use immediately. Take mopping and sweeping to the next level of ease. With less stress of broom , dust pan , mop and bucket. Less water and the solution smells good too.

As a general rule, I really like all of the products I have gotten from Shark/Ninja, giving the vast majority enthusiastic, 5 start reviews. The Shark HydroDuo has some really great, original features, but some misses that I feel could have/should have been executed better. First the good, which this has a LOT of good: #1, what I think is the most unique feature is the light that appears to includes a blacklight, it really illuminates the fine particles that this combination mop/vacuum is going to pick up, particles you otherwise wouldn't even see! #2, another rare feature especially in something this compact is that it is self-propelled, it is absolutely effortless to use as a result. It makes for quick cleanup, which is greatly appreciated. #3 on the "nice" list is the quality of the clean-up. The tank for the liquid you mostly fill with water, and then add a little of the cleaning solution that comes with the machine. You'll get plenty of fills from the cleaning solution, and it really polishes well, as you can see in my photos. It vacuums and mops all at the same time, with separate areas for the solids it vacuums up and the waste liquid. The roller that is the real "secret sauce" for the HydroDuo has a unique combination of texture and absorbency that makes it equally adept at vacuuming and mopping. #4, the ease of cleaning the machine. You simply pinch the 2 tabs to remove the lid, then there's an easy to grab tab to release the roller. Finally, the waste water bin simply pops out, and you can clean it thoroughly in just a few minutes; dumping the vacuum portion, running the roller under water and squeezing out the dirt/grime for that, and then just use a paper towel or rag to clean the rest of it. Easy peasy. Finally, #5, the charging. The HydroDuo comes with a stand that charges the machine while stored out of the way. I really like this feature because it has charging contacts that attach easily; you aren't bending down to locate a power cord to plug in, which is the case for a similarly sized hand held pool vacuum that I have. But, there are a few attributes of the HydroDuo that I feel make it worth subtracting a star. First, the size of the waste water and vacuum compartments are pretty small. I tested the machine around my cat's automatic litter box which was a target rich environment for this machine. After using it on perhaps a 100 square foot area of vinyl plank flooring, as you can see, both waste compartments were pretty much full. I don't have confidence I could use the HydroDuo to clean the 3 connected areas of hard surface in one go without having to stop to empty it; my entry foyer; the home office area, and the kitchen. The 2nd and 3rd things, both related, have to do with the limits of where it can clean as a result of the design. The head of this machine is quite tall and as shown in one of the pictures, could not clean under the lip of my computer desk. And then, the area between the roller and the sides of the machine make it impossible to clean within about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of walls, furniture, etc. If I were engineering this machine, I would use a spinner such as what you see on many robotic vacuums, perhaps made from microfiber or some other material that could dampen itself first so it could remove dirt and mop all the way to the walls and under obstructions. With that feature, they could make the head unit a bit larger and able to hold more waste between times when the unit needs to be emptied/cleaned. Overall though, the positives outweigh the negatives by a comfortable margin, and I feel a 4 star grade is warranted.

I'll preface this by stating that this is my first "automatic" mop, at least aside from my robot vacuum which is just a wet pad that goes over an set area. The closest thing I have to compare is a manual variation of a of a spray jet wet mop for quick spills. INITIAL SETUP: Straight forward and not complicated at all. Very easy to assemble and lightweight. Charging wasn't too long and I was up and going after I mixed the water and included cleaning solution. Ratio to dilute is right on the bottle unit. *Includes Solution, 1x Shark Hydro DUO, 1x preinstalled roll, and base that requires a charging spot* You can buy a second roll and rotate them. FIRST USE: I'm kind of mixed on this. While the HydroDuo is great for quick spills and clean up, it's not very good for embedded stains.. More of a quick cleaner than a dedicated flooring solution in my honest opinion. I think a manual mop or semi auto pad unit does better here. With that said, it does excels at fresh messes and quick cleaning from my week of using it. CONS: - The Shark unit itself scratches very easy along corners. It's not that big of a deal, but I was shocked to find out beat up it was after 1-2 uses along the sides of my walls and under my cupboards. - Doesn't do well with set in residue or stains via glossy tile flooring as I mentioned above. PROS: - Self propelling. Lightweight and easy to navigate and get into corners with ease. - Easy mix water/solution combo. They give a decent size starter bottle to dilute with water. - Perfect for small crumbs, pet hair, or coffee stains without much effort. - Charges quick, good for a kitchen or dining room. - Product is backed by a 3 yr warranty. OVERALL: I expected a little better, but it's not bad either.. Just wanted more oomph in the floor cleaning department. It does work well for what it's intended use is and anything better would obviously cost a bit more. The value is definitely there and a better quick clean solution than my previous competitor spray jet unit. Overall 4/5.

I have been using this for 5 days now and so far I really like it. It is very effective at cleaning the hard surface floors in my home. I have vinyl, wood, and tile in my home and the HydroDuo does wonders cleaning all of them. I especially like the Debris Illumination Light, which is very helpful finding the small hidden dust and particles on the floor. To fully test the HydroDuo, I first used the dry sweeper to pickup all of the hair, dirt, and food particles from the floor. It worked really well on all of the different surfaces. However, cleaning in tight corners, against baseboards, and under the stove/refrigerator it just doesn't have the suction to pull dirt out. So, I still needed to use a duster. My floors weren't terribly dirty, so I could do my kitchen, entry way, and 3 bathrooms without filling the particle receptacle. Next I filled the cleaning solution tank and mopped all of the same floors. The HydroDuo cleaned really well here too and it was so much easier than using a regular mop. The Debris Illumination Light helped here too because I could easily see what areas I already covered. Also, with the Brush Roller, it picked up a lot of the water, so my floors dried a lot quicker. However, I did have to empty the wet receptacle several times and I had to refill the Cleaning Solution Tank once. Since it was my first time using this, I may have used more water/cleaning solution than I needed. But, it still had plenty of battery charge left (50% +/-) when I finished. Overall, I feel the Shark HydroDuo is very easy to assemble and to use. It does a very good job sweeping and cleaning my floors that is noticeable. At $149, I feel the price is a very good value for regular weekly cleaning of my hard surface flooring. I did find the Cleaning Solution refills for $19.99 for 1 liter of solution, which I feel is a little expensive. Lastly, I feel the only downsides are the wet receptacle is small if you are cleaning large areas and that it doesn't get corners and under appliances or furniture very well. I also feel this would make a great gift, especially for someone on-the-go a lot or an elderly person with limited mobility.

This Shark HydroDuo with Dirt Reveal Technology is a game changer for me! With my home being 80 percent hard flooring, a good mop is a must and this Shark HydroDuo is a welcome addition to my cleaning routine. (I will admit I have not come around to wanting a robot vacuum cleaner because I actually enjoy the act of vacuuming.) The Shark - HydroDuo with Dirt-Reveal Technology is easy to assemble and use, make sure to remove all of the sticker plastic and cardboard underneath the cleaner bottle reservoir. The charger base is nice and solid taking up very little space. Make sure to charge the cleaner fully prior to using for the first time. I was so surprised to be able to use the Shark to clean the entire house on a single charge. The light really does work to see where the dust and dirt is on the floor helping to get the best cleaning my floors have seen in years. The brush works perfectly to pickup dry dirt and mop the floor all at the same time. It’s like magic to see the wet and dry debris separated in the bottom of the vacuum. I love that if I have a small messy spill I can grab this and clean quickly and easily! Everything comes apart for cleaning very easily so you can extend the life of the device. This Shark - HydroDuo with Dirt-Reveal Technology works quite nicely for the applications I need around my home. I do enjoy using it to keep my floors nice and clean.

I’m pretty happy with the Shark hydro duo floor cleaner. This time of year, the woods floors can get really nasty with the dogs going in and out of the house and tracking the wet backyard back inside with them. I had been using a wet towel to wipe up mud spots, but the Shark hydro duo does the job wonderfully. The dirt reveal light will definitely show you all the dust and surface dirt so you don’t miss a spot. It’s simple to use. Just fill with water and a bit of the shark cleaner solution it comes with and you’re good to go. As you clean it will pick up excess water that you spray on the floor while picking up debris as well. When the dirt and fluid holder is full, you dump it in the sink and keep cleaning. It’s great at removing surface dirt, and the cleaning solution doesn’t leave your floor stick or with a residue. It is lightweight. It really is just a great everyday floor cleaner to have for muddy days or spills, or just to touch up the floors occasionally. The one star I took away was because it’s not perfect at picking up the debris on the floor. It’s not going to replace a vacuum and it’s not meant to. I also thought it was too lightweight to really “scrub” the floor and found myself really pressing down on it to create more friction to scrub. It’s hard to get the deep down grime in the wood grain with this. Overall though I’m very happy with it. It sits next to my kitchen door where the dogs come in from outside and when they make a mess, I’m on it, and it’s easily cleaned up. It’s a pretty great everyday floor cleaner

When we were looking to buy a house way back when you could afford to do that, we made the choice NO CARPET. Hardwood looks nice, its easy to clean, and it’s more durable. Once we had kids, they didn’t see it the same way and you’d think asking them to run a mop over the floor was akin to torture! So I was already halfway to being pleased when I opened the Shark HydroDuo and several kids became excited to get to help try it (I told them no until I knew how it worked so I could write this review). In the box is the unit itself in two pieces and the charging pad, which plugs into your wall outlet and will recharge your HydroDuo when not in use. None of the messes I attempted to clean were large enough to run out the battery, it will work for an hour or more in my experience. Also in the box is a small bottle of the Shark Hydro Multi-Surface Cleaning concentrate. The Shark has a trigger that will spray in front to help with cleaning up sticky or stuck on messes using a mix of water and the concentrate. The reservoir snaps into the front of the Shark and has lines to illustrate how much water to fill then where to fill the rest of the way with the cleaner concentrate (Its approximately a 4-1 ratio. What’s neat about this “mop vacuum” is that you can clean wet, dry, or mixed messes without having to change any settings, you just turn it on and point it where you want it to go. The spinning of the roller gives it a little bit of drive to it, you feel it pulling you forward a little, which my family found endearing given it being a Shark and it attacking the messes like a shark. We started with a spill of chocolate chips and milk in the living room and it took the mess up in one swipe! There was a small scare that on the first 45 seconds of use that I had broken it when it made a loud crunching sound but upon inspection it looks like it just destroyed one of the chocolate chips instead of sucking it up whole like the others. The unit has a blue tinted light in front which I found odd but it actually illuminates the floor in such a way that you can see the debris and mess you still need to clean. That sounds crazy, and maybe my floor was just THAT BAD that it was obvious, but I swear the light was showing me where to go next and eating everything in front of it. After we cleaned the living room, dining room, and hallway all the cleaning was done for the time being. Following the directions inside I squeezed two tabs on the top of the bottom section and lifted the, for lack of a better name or forgetting if they had an official part name, “Crud Collector” out. This was a very clean and easy way of disposing of the solid waste and there is a separate compartment for liquid waste. The instructions advise to rinse the brush roll and dry fully before reinstalling but I found that with the enclosed tool (kind of like a quarter circle shaped scraper with a handle) I was able to “wring out” the brush by pulling the tool across the brush and forcing the water out at the end. A quick pat dry with a couple paper towels and it seemed clean and dry enough to put back in to me, and I haven’t experienced any negative repercussions not following the instructions to the letter. Its a very skinny vacuum mop but tall enough to be comfortable to use (I’m 6’5” so some cleaning tools are hard on my back having to bend over slightly to use) and it packs in a corner very easily to charge if you have the right setup for your kitchen or garage. The cleaning power is impressive and while I’m sure my kids will find a way to clog or choke it eventually, the test cleanings we did the past week were nothing it couldn’t handle! If you have hardwood or tile floors then I highly recommend this for keeping your house clean.

Mops, sweeps crumbs but scratches your floor

I've spent the last week or so using the Shark Hydro Duo to clean the floors in my apartment and I have mixed feelings about it. I really want to love it and use it as my main floor cleaning tool but I feel like it's better off as a "spot cleaner". There in lies the problem for me personally. This doesn't really clean up a mess any better than you can with a mop, paper towels or a rag. You can't really use this to sweep a whole kitchen or living room floor. And you also can't really use it to mop a whole kitchen floor. I mean I suppose you could.. but I ended up scratching up the floor in my apartment with this thing. I don't know If I am using it wrong, or you're not supposed to "pull" it back like you typically would with a vacuum and mop while cleaning. But every time I pull this thing back while spot cleaning, I hear a scratching sound. It' has a rubber "liner" or not sure what you want to call it.. but it's either that or this wheel that retracts / deploys itself when you lift it off the floor. Something under it makes a loud scratching sound almost every time when I pull it back to do another pass over the mess I am trying to clean up. Anyway... I'll share photos of what I am talking about, and the scratch it made. That being said.. it does a decent job at mopping a floor.. but like I said earlier. I don't really feel comfortable mopping a whole floor with this. When I used it to spray cleaning solution on a dusty floor, it just kinda turned it into a bigger mess and smeared it around a bit. The lint / dust stayed stuck on the floor for a bit. So you have to sweep before you use the cleaning solution with this to mop. It does fine picking up bigger things like cereal, food, crumbs and mud chunks, But seems to struggle picking up dust and lint. Therefore, it kind of creates redundancy in my opinion. Because I end up needing to use a broom or a mop to clean up the mess this thing couldn't clean. I like how lightweight this thing is, and that it can spray cleaning solution on the floor.. but it's hard for me to recommend this to my friends or anyone to use for cleaning a whole floor. Perhaps Shark can figure out a way to allow you to put a little elbow grease into it without scratching the floor, and this thing will work better. I typically get excited to try out cleaning tools, anything to help me get chores done more efficiently, but this isn't it.

The Shark - HydroDuo with Dirt-Reveal Technology, Cordless wet & dry hard floor cleaner does a good job of cleaning hard surfaced floors. In my case I have a hardwood floor and I started out by just trying it as a vacuum. It did okay but it is of course not as powerful as a corded vacuum and it is not as powerful as my other cordless vacuum either. However, my other cordless vacuum can not clean the floor by spraying a cleaning solution on it and clean it with a spinning mop brush either. I ended up vacuuming with my other cordless vacuum because I want to only use the Shark-HydroDuo as a cordless powered mop and I do not want to get a bunch of debris on the roller and get it real dirty. This machine is good for the final phase of cleaning your floor and it makes cleaning your hard floor much easier than a mop because it does a lot of the work for you. I would not use it as a machine to skip sweeping or vacuuming first personally unless you have a small area that you do often. The Shark HydroDuo does not have two batteries nor does it have a way to swap batteries out which I think was a mistake by Shark to have an integrated non-removable battery. That obviously limits the square footage you can clean in one session. I was able to do a pretty large area with it probably between 300-350 square feet but I went over it very thoroughly going forward and back. While I was using it I noticed a couple of things. One it sprays out a lot of liquid and I feel like it could either spray a little wider or further out or have a little finer spray. I spent a lot of time spreading out what I had sprayed so it was not pooling. The second thing I noticed was that it hits bumps or the edges of uneven floors pretty easily. While it does go over them I felt like the housing should have a little more ground clearance. The last thing I noticed is that it could use a little more power. I think it needs to be at least a 12 volt not a 9.6 volt. And it needs swappable batteries so you won,t run out of battery before you finish. In the end though when I was finished it did a great job of cleaning the floor but the reservoir that holds the used water filled up before the spray tank ran out and started over flowing on to the floor. I had to stop and empty it the resume cleaning. The idea of it vacuuming while it mops is a great idea that gets the floor really clean. It could just use some improvements in the areas I mentioned previously. I will definitely keep using it and I am excited to get to know it better so I can plan out my sessions with it cleaning one section at a time. Our entire house is hardwood floors so it will take probably three sessions to do it all. Thats okay though because I do not want to it all at once anyway. The Shark Hydro-Duo is like a better version of the Swiffer wet jet and it definitely gets the floor cleaner.

I was looking for a realiable floor cleaner that would be easy to setup and use throughout the day. I decided to try out the Shark Hydro after others telling me its a great cleaning tool. I am so glad I did, it was practically ready to use right out of the box. It is very lightweight comes with cleaning solution and partial battery charge. I really like the base station that it provides a way to dry the roller, a way to wrap the cord and place for the tool. When using it on my floor right off the bat I noticed how well it cleaned up the area. It did not take long for the floor to dry and it was the right amount of solution when using. The handle allows for easy navigation and how lightweight it was I never got tired after cleaning the entire huge floor of my house. After usage it was very easy to take apart to clearn. There are many portions of the attachments able to rinse and clean without things getting in the way. I even like bringing it with me and with an easy to remove handle it provides a travel ability. Overall I really enjoyed using this product and strongly recommend trying out this if you are looking for a realiable cleaning product

As a parent of a 6-month-old baby girl who has just recently started crawling up a storm, is enjoying her infant-led weaning on soft foods, and likes lobbing globs of food like they are grenades, I have been desperate for a cleaning solution that keeps our kitchen and dining room (and my sanity) intact. The Shark HydroDuo has come in to save the day! It offers some of my favorite features of our Dyson V15 Detect Submarine Vacuum and Mop combo at nearly a 10th of the cost, all with the convenience of being a vacuum and mop in one and not having to switch out the attachments to fulfill either role. Unboxing and Setup: As usual with their cleaning implements, Shark has made the setup and use of this hydro duo an absolute breeze. They have handy instructions printed right on the box when you open it, but they also have a booklet included for more detailed instructions as well as clean up and maintenance of the device. I found I was able to set up the vacuum intuitively; there were so few parts needing to be attached out of the box, and none could be mixed up by my reckoning. Once I had the vacuum set up, I plugged in the charging and storage tray and placed the vacuum on there as the battery was completely drained from the factory and needed a complete top-up before use. This is probably best from a battery calibration standpoint. I also filled up the cleaning fluid tank and was pleasantly surprised to see that they included a bottle of concentrate that looks like it will last for at least six full tank clean-ups! More Shark Hydro brand cleaning fluid concentrate with a volume per the marketing that will last about 19 cleanups is available for around 19 dollars or so online from various sources. First-time use: One of the best parts of this Shark HydroDuo versus the Dyson Detect vacuum model is that the dirt reveal light works for both vacuuming AND mopping. My wife and I have stated aloud to each other that we wish we had a better way of seeing the stubborn stains and grit on the kitchen and dining room floor while mopping the same way our detect V15 shows dirt with its fluffy head cleaner. Well, Shark has done that for you here! Putting this to advantage, I first diligently vacuumed up as much dry material as I could see without using the sprayer. Shark advises that you first vacuum up dry debris as much as possible before using the sprayer for best performance. Logically, that just makes sense, and I followed that recommendation to the best of my ability. The vacuum and mop overall did excellent for us. The vacuum was able to vacuum up all the pesky debris and detritus that builds up in our busy daily workweek lives, even (for the most part) my wife’s 3-foot-long curly hairs that she sheds like a husky! The mop with the handy included quick dry fluid to mix into the tank was excellent at getting even some of the more petrified food stains and kitchen messes cleaned up and it generally did really well performing a fairly in depth clean of the floor. When the wet is added into the equation with this mop, though, the drawbacks of the roller system manifest: what was left of my wife’s long hairs got gummed up and wrapped around the roller, and there were definitely a few clumps that ended up just being pushed around and had to be picked up by hand. Admittedly, long human hair is a major challenge for all but the most expensive cleaning appliances, so I do not consider this a major demerit against the Shark HydroDuo. Cleaning up the Shark was intuitive and easy. The dry bin gets dumped in the trash, the dirty water bin gets rinsed and put out to dry, the roller gets cleaned off and placed upright on the storage/charging station in its handy, specially designed drying spot. It was cleaning the roller that made us realize just how severe the spin up of long hairs was, but we weren’t too flustered about it. All in all, I think this Shark Hydro Duo, for its intended price and use cases, gets a solid 5 out of 5. This is the perfect solution for small to mid-size dwellings with sealed hardwood, tile, and linoleum-type flooring that needs good maintenance of both vacuuming and cursory mopping. I just wouldn’t quite throw away your traditional mop, bucket, and broom if you are a person who likes a super deep clean and feels the need to do it the manual way once in a while for a true deep clean. Thanks for reading and hope this interview helps you out!

The shark HydroDuo dabbles in multi functions and is just ok. It's pretty cool looking. Set up is easy. Has a nice base to charge and to hold the spool after rinsing it. It is self propelled which is kind of cool and the laser light is nice for vacuuming so you can see the dirt better. You'd be amazed how clean a floor looks until you shine a light across the surface As a vacuum for floors, it's ok. The squeegee blade for the mopping tends to get in the way especially if you have tile that isn't even or with low grout. Also gets in the way of hardwood depending on how beveled the floor edges are. Found myself getting caught and it lifting up. If you don't need this as your main vacuuming tool and have it as secondary spot vacuum and mostly mop, then it could be ok That being said, depending on how often you mop or how bad your floors get, this may not be for you. Seems more for light spills. While the auto drive is nice, the hinge and the angle of the arm to the head doesn't allow you to actually scrub a mess. You can let it roll back and forth over the floor but do not expect any kind of force to loosen up stuff that is stuck to the floor. Cleanup is relatively easy you can rinse off the top lid and empty and rinse the separate dust bin and dirty water collection. The spool brush is easy too remove and wash as well and you can let it dry on the base The base of the unit however, is annoying to clean to say the least. Stuff will stick to where the squeegee attaches, and unless you have free space above your sink, you'll have an awkward time cleaning it. If you have another main mop for deep cleaning, and another main floor vacuum to scoop a lot up beforehand, you'll be fine with this for light weekly cleans or spot spills. Otherwise, you'll want something more well rounded.

Overall this is just another great product from Shark. We have gotten multiple shark products over the last 10 to 15 years but this is the first one that is a wet floor cleaner for hard floors. We have about 1,000 square feet of rubber vinyl plank flooring downstairs and this makes it much easier to clean. I was surprised when I took it out of the box how small it was but that's also nice because it takes up less room when you have to store it. It came with a very nice base to hold it and charge it while also offering a nice way to dry out the cleaning roller. Out of the box it was set up and charging within less than 5 minutes and after a few hours the battery was charged and ready to use. Pros - Self driven with powerful cleaning roller to grab anything in its path - Charging base and place to store the roller for it to dry between uses - Used the cleaning fluid sparingly with half a container left when the battery was drained Cons - Battery didn't last long enough to mop our entire downstairs but it is a larger than normal area - Small dirty water and debris storage area Overall this is a great option for those quick hard floor cleaning needs. It does a good job to pickup dry debris then hitting the floor with the solution to get that stuck on debris. It left our floors visible cleaner and so far we are very happy with it.

This is the first Shark Product that I have ever been disappointed with. My home is mostly hard surfaces, wood, marble, and tile. The inside steps are carpeted and we have several area rugs. I wanted an all-in-one device to clean the floors and do occasional vacuuming. This aint. Surprisingly there is no vacuum only mode. Whether using on hard surfaces or rugs, you must spray and wash, otherwise it will not work. The product I compared it wo is the Bissell Cross Wave. I visited a local Best Buy store to get professional advise, However, after spending about 45 minutes in the store without professional assistance, I went home and purchased on line. I chose the wrong product. I later learned that the Bissell does indeed have a vacuum only mode. In terms of its effectiveness, its pretty good but does not work as well as other Shark products I have owned. it takes four hours to charge but only provides 45 minutes (advertised but real world seems less) of service. The self clean mode is nice, but I still find myself having to manually remove hair and fiber from the brush roller. The feature that separates liquids from solids does not work well. The solid receptacle retains a good amount of water which makes it difficult to empty into a trash can.

I love this thing so much! The floors are always clean now because I am obsessed with using the floor cleaner! With all of the traffic on our floors between mechanics, farming and pets, our floors were chronically filthy! But NO MORE! This was a surprisingly wonderful cleaning tool that inspires me to clean all the time because it’s now so easy and effective! Thank you for the cord-free life!

Basically, I love this Shark - HydroDuo with Dirt-Reveal Technology. Normally, I only buy Shark products. There are just a few issues that they should improve. The dirt collecting bin is so small, it needs to be emptied often with 2 cats and shedding season. The same with the waste water container, it needs emptying twice while doing the guest bath. The brush roll on vacuum only, frequently scatters things like loose kitty litter ahead of it, making it accumulate against the wall

Does a great job cleaning and the solution that comes with it is great works well. We were able to clean the kitchen and both bathrooms before the charge ran out. It’s self cleaning so when you empty and clean it out it’s not gross to do so. It doesn’t fit under the lip of some of our cupboards so we have to clean those areas separately otherwise the product scrubs very well and picks up debris great. Great for quick cleans after cooking too!! Would recommend

I do really like this vacuum. Suction seems to work well, very different having a textured material roller. Overall to four star. I only give it four because the one thing that I don't like about it is that once you do spray and begin the mopping part, I feel that it is very difficult to just go back to vacuuming. You almost have to wait for the roller to dry for it to do a good job again. It does not pick up dust/hair/dirt very well at all if the roller is wet. I probably won't buy this again once it dies. I almost prefer my dry wood floor vacuum and then just follow up with a swiffer mop.
