5-Stars is not enough! Love it! Use it every day!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am extremely impressed with the Ninja Crispi Portable Cooking System. It is by far one of the best air fryers I have ever used. It's easy to operate, yields consistent results, compact, and easy to clean. This cooking system is ideal for families, and individuals alike. It's modular and portable design makes it the perfect solution for quick easy, healthy meals at home or on the go. Design and Portability: The Ninja Crispi Portable Cooking System is one of the best designed air fryers I have ever used. The 4-Quart Glass container is perfect for quick meals for a small family and the 6-Cup glass container is the perfect for 1 to two people. The cooking system comes with two leakproof lids allowing easy leftover storage. Plus, thanks to the borosilicate glass leftovers can be reheated directly from the refrigerator. Functionality and Versatility: This particular model features 4 cooking modes. Re-crisp, Bake, Air Fry, and Max Crisp. Each mode automatically adjusts the temperature and fan speed for optimal results. The re-crisp mode is perfect for reheating and crisping fried chicken and fries resulting in crispy and juicy chicken, and fries with a perfect snap. The bake mode was perfect for melting cheese thanks to the gentle convection. Air Fry and Max-Crisp are the definite go-to for frozen items,. Ease of Use: This system couldn't be simpler. Place your items, pick your mode, adjust your time, and press start. Keep in mind, cooking times definitely seem shorter than a conventional air frier thanks to the powerful 1500 watt PowerPod. The timer defaults to 10 minutes, but I found that cutting the time in half, stir/shake, and if needed another 5 minutes yielded almost perfect results. Cooking Performance: Cooking performance alone would yield 5 stars. My first go resulted in VERY crispy fries, but I mistakenly followed the cooking instructions on the package... That's when I realized this was no ordinary air fryer. I cut the time in half, gave the container an occasional shake, and the second round was perfect. For my test, I intentionally overloaded the 4-Quart container, and unlike other air fryers I've used, the fries were surprisingly consistent in both doneness and crisp. With other fryers, an overloaded basket would have yielded soggy, inconsistent, mushy fries. Beyond fries, I also tested chicken wings and mozzarella sticks, both of which turned out evenly cooked and perfectly crisp. Cleaning and Maintenance: The modular and compact design and glass containers make cleanup a breeze! Everything (except the PowerPod) is dishwasher safe, but I found it actually takes longer to load them into the dishwasher than it did to wash by hand. In less than two minutes, both containers, the adaptor and power pod were washed/wiped and ready to go... If only everything was this easy... Durability and Build Quality: The TempWare Glass Containers are made from Borosilicate glass making them extremely resistant to thermal shock and breakage. The leak-proof lids are made from BPA-free plastic. Safety Features: The Ninja Crispy features an automatic shutoff function, stopping both heating and convection fan if the power pod is removed during the cooking process. This is further enhanced by Ninja's design decision of not securing/locking the PowerPod to the cooking container. Which means if by some unfortunate circumstances, the cooking system happened to be knocked over, there is very little risk of significant damage to the counter or surrounding areas. It's important to remember, that while the risk is low, like any appliance, it should never be left unattended while in operation. Value for Money: Given the features and performance of this cooking system; in my opinion is well worth the minimal investment.

Excellent small batch air fryer, not portable tho
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third air fryer, also from ninja, and it's also excellent. The first one was a dual zone air fryer which was great, but very large and unwieldy and difficult to wash with a small sink and no dish washer. The second was a large single zone unit, which we still use pretty frequently for cooking mains. It's a bit overkill for something smaller though. This device is exactly what I'm looking for for making smaller batches and reheating. It's a perfect fit. So in the box you get the heating unit, your two glass vessels, little elevation trays, and a few other bibs and bobs. There's also an included manual and recipe book, which you should really familiarize yourself with. Once you learn the cooking times for protein and veg, you'll get a feel for it. Wash everything prior to your first use, it's just good practice. For the inaugural cook I turned to my go-to air fryer dish - wings ... carribbean jerk to be precise. So here's where I actually don't follow the directions, I like to stack my wings a little bit to fit more in there, it's never been an issue. I just rotate them a bit during cooking ... cooking time unaffected. Came out great, as expected. So yeah I don't have much more to say than this is probably the most convenient air fryer I've ever used. The different sized dishes, clear glassware making it easy to see if things are getting overdone, the ease of reheating leftovers with the little stacker plate thing .. yeah it's great. Final thoughts? I think this would perfect for anyone with a small kitchen or limited counter space, or anyone really looking to upgrade their work lunch experience. Whether reheating leftovers or doing actual cooking, it's convenience is unmatched. Also worth considering, older people or people who might struggle with larger bulkier machines will find this much more manageable. That's a big plus. I do have to say "portable" is a bit of stretch though. In my book if something is portable that means I can take it anywhere and use it anywhere. This requires an outlet for use, obviously, so that marketing feels disingenuous. You know what else is portable? Literally anything that I can physically pick up and transport to another place. My living room furniture? So portable lol! It's not worth losing a star or anything over as this thing performs exactly as expected, but come on. If you're in the market for an air fryer for this is a great one.

Perfect Addition for Quick Cooking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box is the control panel, power pod, adapter, Large Glass container with crisper plate and lid, small glass container with crisper plate and lid, owner’s guide, quick start guide and two flyers (one with QR code). First Impression - this system is somewhat easy to store and is able to nests inside each other which is great for me because at this point in time, the kitchen is older and smaller, so I have to save as much room as possible. Disclaimer - I am a huge fan of Ninja products and I already own quite a few of the latest products and use them weekly. I am a family of four but during the week, I usually only cook dinner for 2-3 of us. I am seriously attempting to cook more at home now BUT it is a little difficult because the meals that I cook are normally for 4-5 people and it has been a total waste of money because the left overs go to waste. The Portable Cooking is pretty much the answer to my disclaimer. First off, when my family and I just want a simple snack, we now have the option of putting something in the Portable Cooking System, opposed to going out in the cold (or hot in the summer) to get take out. My youngest adult daughter loves making French fries and she was pleasantly surprised when she was able to cook a large amount of fries without having to warm up the deep fryer and sitting and waiting for the fries to come out. She was able to set the Portable Cooker to a specific time and walk away. The fries cooked well from frozen and the best part, she didn’t have to use a deep fryer with the oil and risk getting popping oil on her. I also cooked a raw salmon with raw broccoli and I was a little skeptical but it cooked pretty well. The instructions in the quick start guide are pretty accurate and it even gives you additional recipes to try. I would like to add that I definitely plan to purchase another because there are times when I am making raw meat and frozen vegetables, so I would love to be able to cook them at the same time. (In the owners manual, for the best results, to make sure you cook the same type of items (raw, frozen or pre-cooked ingredients) at the same time.) Also, this is a great meal planning tool because you can buy the extra containers and prep your same type ingredients and when you are ready to eat, you just pop the power pod on top of the glass container and set it to whatever cooking style and cook it. I would like to note that you can use the glass containers in the dishwasher, the microwave and the freezer BUT it is best to wait for the container to cool before storing. Also, the holder attachment does not come off, however, there is space for the water to drain, so you don’t have to worry about water getting trapped between the glass and the plastic. Overall, I LOVE this product and I would highly recommend for friends and family.

A lot or a little...your choice!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had or currently have other Ninja products and enjoyed them. When I saw the Ninja Crispi Portable Cooking System it really caught my attention. I try to take my own meals to make at work as luckily we do have a small kitchen. There is another brand air fryer there however its not that great. I like that I can prepare my meals in the containers at home then take them to work and cook when I am ready or even just whip something up there by taking some things to prepare there. I of course tried it out at home before committing to taking it to work. I tried making salmon and let me tell you....it came out so perfect. Crisp on the outside and perfectly cooked, moist and flakey on the inside. So next I tried twice baked potatoes and again it did not disappoint! I feel like it cooked them in less time than the oven normally takes. The controls are very user friendly and easy to select and use. The cooking did seem to adjust to whichever container I used which was something I worried about. I use the smaller container for my personal meals but like that I have the option of using the larger one of I want to share with coworkers. The glass containers seem well made and I like that you can also use them to store the food as well...I can't say this for other air fryers. I have yet to try my zucchini fries or chicken wings in it but I am sure I will not be disappointed. I am seriously thinking I may need another one to use at home when I do not need an oven sized amount of food cooked. Several of my coworkers are now looking at getting their own too. With the two included containers it really does give you more flexibility in the amount or size of food you cook versus the one size fits all that is sometimes too cumbersome for single person meals or small amounts of snacks. Thank you Ninja yet another amazing product that I look forward to using for years to come!

A novel option for a second air fryer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Air fryers are everywhere these days, something that Ninja has certainly contributed to with what seems to be their mission statement to add one to every small appliance possible. At first glance, the Crispi seems like it'll be more of the same in a new form factor, but much to my surprise it seems to be trying something new. Rather than trying to be a jack of all trades it seeks to fill a very specific niche with a highly focused design: it's a machine for side dishes and leftovers. There are a few things that you wouldn't even usually think of as features that have been omitted, like granular temperature control. This does have the upside of making it very easy to use, and makes you very grateful to have a way to actually watch whatever you're cooking through the glass container. It's by no means impossible to use it to cook like you would a regular air fryer, particularly if you're willing to use the recipes provided with it, but I certainly wouldn't recommend doing it regularly unless you plan to stick to a few simple recipes where you can work out the exact settings and times that work best. Build quality overall is excellent. The glass containers used for cooking are sturdy and work great for leftover storage too. The material is said to be hardened against thermal shock and seems to be living up to it - going straight from the fridge to the fryer and back again is no issue. The no-stick platforms used to create room for air to circulate are also well made, and everything is dishwasher safe. That said, storage can be a bit awkward. The glass containers can't really nest due to the handles, only the smaller platform has integrated storage, and the air fryer unit itself is a bit of an awkward shape to cram into a kitchen cupboard. All in all, as good as it is as crisping up fries or reheating leftovers, it just takes up too much space and doesn't have enough utility to justify it in a working kitchen. But then I also don't think that's the goal either. This is something you buy for your office, dorm room, or camper as an alternative to relying entirely on a microwave.

Simply Awesome!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No ja has done it again. I love this air fryer. I use it all the time. I own two air fryer ovens, one for larger cooking and the other for the rotisserie feature, but they just don't cook certain things, such as chicken wings, fries, fish and stuff, like a basket air fryer does. The Ni ja Crispi cooks like a basket air fryer but is much easier to use, is super convenient to clean and store leftovers. The design is great. I really enjoy the glass containers it comes with. They are perfect for cooking in and then come with kids to store food in the fridge. It comes with two sizes, a very large one and a small one. The removable cooking grate is easy to put in and take out before and after cooking. Everything washed so easily. It's interface is so simple and easy to use. I have cooked a few different things so far. These are chicken wings, salmon fillets, lobster tails and hamburgers. The chicken came out slightly charred and crispy, full of flavor and juicy. The salmon came out so well, crusted on top and soft and flaky throughout. The lobster tails were awesome. Smooth flavor, very juicy and just cooked evenly through. And finally, the burgers came out a perfect medium rare. I love this thing so much. Definitely a must have.

The perfect portable air fryer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Right up front the only thing I don’t like about it is how many components come with it. Now, to be completely fair, this is also the entire purpose of buying this. We don’t have a lot of storage space so this kind of takes up a bit of room. However, it is absolutely amazing at doing what it does. Leftover salmon tastes way better in this than warmed up in the microwave (Also, after testing this at home, it doesn’t quite have that microwave smell that is so detested at meetings. But even better than that, if you have a battery back that can handle it, this is small enough just to use in your car our outside with one of those unlike carrying a microwave in your car. I did wings in here and they turned out amazing, I did them from frozen so they took quite a bit longer than the recipe book said but to no ill effects. We also did a pile of nuggets in it and they turned out perfect. The small one is perfect for lunch. I put a fillet of fish and a pile of veggies, throw the lid on it and take it to work, then cook it for a bit and it turns out perfectly. The large one the lid is used after as it can be thrown on and the whole thing can be thrown in the fridge instead of putting it in a different container. It is easy to use, and I love the whole system, minus the fact that it takes a little bit more room to store than a regular counter top air fryer.

Love Shark/Ninja Products
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, like my title states, I love Shark/Ninja products. I have many from vacuums to blenders and they all exceed my expectations When I was in the market for an air fryer, the choice was simple when I saw that Ninja offered a portable one Unboxing was uneventful and everything was properly protected and clearly marked Set-up was a breeze with the instructions, and on-line videos as support. I did not need those Now for some of the reasons why I purchased this cooking system My first choice was some simple boneless chicken. Followed the directions and voila, perfect moist on the inside and crispy on the outside chicken without the need to fry with oil Breakfast time and bacon was perfect and sunny side eggs delicious Dinner I tried some frozen/prepared items like taquitos and they were better than fried in oil (and way better than the oven) Lastly, I gave reheating a try with some pizza from last night. I cheated and added a little (OK a lot) of extra cheese and it came out perfect To end the review, clean-up is an absolute breeze. No caked oil to deal with.

Amazing little unit, surprising results
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If there was ever an air fryer that surpassed my expectations, this would be it. The Crispi is a neat little appliance for those with limited space and do not air fry that often. The portability aspect of it adds an additional layer that was not really considered as an option before for me. Ones of the best features of this is it's quick turnaround for reusability. The option to switch containers makes prepping food to be cooked for later such a breeze. One of the biggest drawbacks on air fryers for me has been washing the cooking containers or buckets they are in. For single meals, it is quite a hassle to wash such a large thing. But now, using the small 6 cup container of the Crispi it is easier than ever. Not to mention it is much easier to wash what is essentially a pyrex bowl instead of some perforated metal basket. The compactness of this allows it to be stored without using much space. It was able to fit into the cupboards and out of site, something that is extremely useful when air frying is not a priority in the kitchen. Something to also point out is that although it is small, it is still able to heat up quickly and air fry foods as quick as a full size fryer. The simplicity of it makes it very easy to use and you don't even need to connect some smart app to it. One drawback with this is that you have to be conscious of your container size. If you decide to fill it as much as possible, your food will touch the metal grate of the air fryer. Because there is much less room than usual, the air does not move as well and so you do have to rotate your food when cooking to get full crispiness. Also the metal grate is not removable for separate cleaning, but it is not the most difficult thing to clean with a paper towel. Overall, this has become a staple for making single meals and the ease of use is hard to beat. If you are looking for less microwave and more freshly made lunch/dinners, this is the way to go.

Great Portable Air Fryer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To say I'm a fan of any device from Ninja would be an understatement but this Crispi portable air fryer takes the cake. Just like its larger brethren this thing get the job done. Just without taking up a large portion of your kitchen counters. It's perfect for those times you're not fixing a larger meal or when you may need something "portable" to bring to a party or tailgate. If you're into the "Van Life' lifestyle then this is going to be perfect for you! So far I've cooked up chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, frozen and fresh french fries, and grilled cheese sandwiches with this fryer and for the most part they have come out outstanding. Setup is easy as all get out. Pick one of the two the two containers included based o how much you're fixing and affix the cooker and you're off! The included cook book includes some simple recipes and recommended cook times. As I mentioned just about everything comes to the usual Ninja excellence. The only real exception to this standard for me was how initially grilled cheese sandwiches were coming out and it's an issue I've run into with other air fryers before and that is where they can get slightly over cooked around the edges. Everything else I've cooked so far has been excellent. This is an outstanding portable air fryer that you cannot go wrong with.

Works great but still not sure when I will use it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an interesting product from Ninja. It works very well and has some unique features but it feels more like an extra appliance more than a new staple. PROS Ease of use - For me, the best thing about this product is it's ease of use. The control pod is easy to navigate and control. The best part about it is that you use the same container for cooking, serving, and storing. The time saved there is a nice to have. Performance - This product has a wide variety of cooking methods and they all work great. Much like with anything in the kitchen, it takes some getting used to. In the small container, the heating element can be quite close to the food which can cause hot spots, but overall I was impressed with the evenness of cooking. Cons What is this really for? I hate to take off points/ stars but I really struggle to see myself using this regularly. If you are someone who does not already have an air fryer or other, similar countertop cooker, this is a great buy. Otherwise, it seems to be yet another device to do much of the same thing.

so convenient and more than the paper description
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start by saying that on paper, and at first glance, the Ninja Crispi seems unnecessary and almost dumb. After using it once though, I completely changed my mind. The Crispi comes with 2 different *dishwasher safe* glass containers (6 cup and 4 qt) that have attached heat-safe "feet." Theoretically, the non-removable nature of the heat-safe feet could create some issues with cleaning, but I have not had any issues so far. The glass is PFAS free, and the heating surfaces of the PowerPod cooking unit are ceramic to be non-toxic. In typical Ninja ingeniousness, the pieces all nest together, so it takes up very little storage space in our cabinet. The glass cooking containers come with lids to go directly into storage. With the size and design of the unit, there's no preheating period necessary. Literally set the pod on, choose your cooking setting, and boom! Done. Take the PowerPod off, carry the glass container to the table, and begin eating. Don't need to find a placemat or pad to protect the granite countertop since the cooking containers have heatproof feet already. So so convenient. If I have any food left over, then I pop the lid on, and into the fridge it goes. For people chasing macros and trying to reduce food waste, this is truly a gamechanger. I already own a different Ninja air fryer, and I still use this thing so frequently. The only time I really opt for using my dedicated air fryer is if we're having guests over and I need to cook more than usual.
