Poor Heat Control
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned this for four days and used it four times. It has been a disaster 3 of those 4 times. The green indicator lights that are supposed to come on when it's reached the desired temperature appear to have a mind of their own. The first time I used it, they came on indicating a temperature of 400 degrees - but the thing wouldn't sizzle, and wasn't even hot enough to melt a little pat of butter! The second time, the green light came on immediately when I turned the machine on. The third time it actually seemed to work, although I would say 10 minutes to cook a normal-thickness pancake at 375 degrees doesn't sound right. But at least it cooked something. The fourth time it overcompensated. It preheated for over 10 minutes without the green light ever coming on. It was set at only 350 degrees but must have been far higher, given the smoke that came up from even a little bit of olive oil. This is going back to the store as soon as I get out of work tomorrow. 100% unreliable in every way.

All Hype and Nothing But Junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know where to start. Maybe with the cheap way the temp. controls are designed. Or maybe with how shallow the trays are. Would it have cost them that much more to make the trays an 1/8 of an inch deeper (on both sides) each so the grease wasn't going everywhere? And don't get me started on how cheaply and useless the grease catcher is designed. First thing you should do is by a large sheet pan to put under the grill before you even turn it on. What a mess!!! Dishwasher safe??? Easy Cleaning??? Yeah, if the paper thin coating they put on these trays wouldn't scratch off so easily. I think my finger nail scratch the coating off. I used all plastic cookwear and it already started to come off. Bottom line is that if I had to do it all over again I would never have bought this grill. Not that there are any others that are any better. Let me just say this to the powers to be. You could have spent an extra 20 or 30 dollars to manufacture this grill without cutting all the corners and made it a great product. And I think people would sooner pay a 160 or 170 dollars and have a grill that is worth the money than to spend 140 dollars and have a cheaply made piece of junk. At least I'd sooner pay the extra few dollars and have something I can use instead of having to return it because it is junk. Save your money and wait until they do it right instead of buying something you'll end up returning or regretting that you spent 140 dollars today, and will end up spending another 140 in less than a year to replace it because your 30 days to return it ended.

Great idea gone wrong
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What it does is great when it is working. HOWEVER, killing my 2nd one in a few months time makes it one of the worse things I wasted my money on. 1st one spring release got stuck so i could not put it back together after cleaning. This happened only after a few uses. On the 2nd one was a bit slower death. About a month the griddle switch stop working. So now i have to cook everything using the gill side which isn't so bad until now it decides to turn off whenever it feels like. So a great idea that has gone horribly wrong

Bad performance do not buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks good, but is lousy. I bought it to make grilled sandwiches and to cook thick steaks. When the top closes and adjusts to the thickness of sandwich it knocks the top of bread off and does not toast the bread it just drys it out. And, it is not worth the mess at any price. Stop encouraging people to buy it.
