Go pro 8 protection plan !

Gopro replacement magically turns into this??!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a GoPro with the replacement plan (as I always do), the sales person (as they always do) give you the spiel, "replacements for a year, just bring the broken one in and walk out with a new one" Well about 2 weeks after I purchased the GoPro had some damage, so as I've done several times before I go to best buy with the camera and receipt........ Long story short after waiting around for like an hour for them to figure it out, they informed me that they're no longer replacing gopros despite them selling it to me not 2 weeks earlier with the replacement insurance. Needless to say this was very frustrating, but the attitude the geek squad guy had made it worse.....I had to leave the store because I didn't want to start yelling. So basically I've paid for insurance and best buy refuses to honor it, it's even more annoying because they changed their policy after I'd purchased it. The was no notice warning or anything other than a big "not our problem anymore" from best buy. The only reason to buy a GoPro at best buy is the replacement insurance. Now that they don't honor the insurance they sell/don't do the replacement anymore there's literally ZERO reason to buy a GoPro at best buy anymore. They've literally taken away the only selling point/competitive advantage they had for GoPro sales. Honestly it's a stupid business decision because people who buy a lot of GoPros only go to best buy bc the replacement. If that's gone so are we. It's even more frustrating that they refuse to honor what they sold. If I give you money based on certain expectations, then you refuse to honor those expectations, why on earth would I be happy much less continue to give you money? I'd much rather (in every instance/for every product they sell) give my money to someone else, this experience has really really tarnished best buys reputation and I'm not the only one..... There are a lot of us who are going to be giving our money to other people in the future.

Protection plan worst experience

I had originally a GoPro 9 and after used it under water mic started muffling and sometimes no sound at all. I went to my nearest Best Buy and with the protection plan they provided me with a store credit since the same camera was not in stock. I jusr paid the diffrence and went with a GoPro 10. Now just 11 months after, I’m having the same problem and came to my nearest store and needing my camera for an upcoming trip and they want to keep the camera for about 3-4 weeks to fix it or determine the next step. Basically same thing as sending to the manufacturer. I asked if there was a manager available to assist with option and the geek squad rep declined calling a manager, however he did suggested for me to buy another one for my trip and return it when I’m back from it. Really? I told him that will be wrong from my part to get something, use it and then return it.

Accidental Drop Warranty

Since the $1000 camera is made out of plastic, I purchased the 2 year Geek Squad accidental drop warranty. Of course he dropped it, and the screen wont turn on. I drove to Best Buy to utilize the warranty with the understanding (from our original sales person) that we could exchange the camera if it gets damaged. Unfortunately, that was not the case and the camera has to be sent back for repairs. What really bothered me about this experience was the fact that they would not send the camera back while I was there, but instead, made me make an appointment to then return the camera. Best Buy needs to refine their warranty program. Some items can be exchanged while others can not. I'm assuming it depends on the manufacturer, but sales staff needs to be better informed. Also, if a customer makes the effort to drive to your store to take care of an issue, dont't force the customer to return another time, especially if it can easily be resolved on the spot. I found this the most fustrsting aspect! I will say that the Geek Squad staff was very friendly and this review is about Best Buy's warranty policy.

Disappointed with the coverage.....

With that said, I am extremely disappointed that the Geek Squad protection plan didn't refund the price of the camera. I had used my Best Buy rewards when I purchased it and they don't get refunded so I basically lost them.....lesson learned.

And the sugar didn't refund me, I'm disappointed

Not a good warranty
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.In the past the unit was replaced with a the next model if the one purchased was discontinued, now they don't do that Electronics always changes model numbers, in this case the "newer model" has nothing different I can discern, yet because they don't make the older model anymore, I had to pay almost 100 dollars to get my failed unit replaced. Not happy at all

No longer worth it to buy the warranty or gopro at Best Buy.

Not told about short return policy

I bought it a little more than a week before his birthday as I do not like last minute things. After her got it, he decided he didn’t need this model too as he had the last model. We went to take it back about 16-17 days after purchase but only a couple after his birthday only to be told we cannot because there was only a 14 day return policy, which I didn’t know. We were only able to get store credit.

I truly hope if I need help with his gopro it won't be the fiasco that was

Not needed warranty

Disappointing service

Had issues at the store and was told in return for my more than hour long wait for something that should of been 10 minutes they would one day ship the camera that night. It took three days for the camera to even leave the store then 4 more to arrive at the destination.

THIER managers and supervisors are complete trash? THIER warranty trash best it will be bankrupt in less than 3yrs

Took our computer in to get a cd removed that was in it and they refused saying that wasn't part of the plan. So why did I spend the money? I really don't know.

They cant fix they said ussually they give a new phone and i have to pay the deductible which is just the same amount as u do it in the mall area
