Took a one year old blu ray player that stop playing in, took a month to “fix”. Took it back, another month goes by. This time asked them to show me it was actually fixed, it wasn’t. What did they do with it?? Where’s the QC check? No working player for two months. Their solution was to replace it under the plan, which ‘closes out the 4 year extended plan. The 4 year warranty does not get carried over to the replacement, so 3 years of protection are lost because of their incompetence in two repair attempts. You need to buy another plan for the replacement player. I did some research and next time I’ll get another extended warranties available on the net. They send a prepaid box and return fixed within a week. No trips to the store or appointment needed. Seems like a better value.

The Blu-ray player that I purchased the Geek Squad Protection decided to break on the last day of coverage. I was able to schedule an repair appointment at 6:40pm at the Cerritos, California store but was told that my coverage had ended because at 6:40pm(Pacific Time) it was 9:40pm (Eastern Time) and Eastern Time is what Best Buy uses when their Geek Squad Protection is purchased and not the location of the purchase.

Geek Squad is missing appointments with me. Lost a days work when nobody showed up for an appointment, and this past Friday, 12-4-2020, a second time I had an appointment scheduled, nobody showed up from Geek Squad. What is going on? Disappointed in Geek Squad, Carl J. Niedzwiecki

Waste of money for me, my equipment is pretty good. I'm going to stop adding on these plans because it's money flushed down the drain

It wasn't worth it for the device I bought. The 2 year plan would have been much smarter.

Not need if purchasing gifts, not recommended for gifts.

Gorgeous results BUT with freezing. Tried the same blu ray on the Xbox and an old Sony (which is supposedly notorious for freezing problems) and I had no freezing issues. It was only with this UB420 model that the freezing occurred. Returning and planning to buy from another source.

Piece of junk. No LCD readout. Doesn’t begin play automatically when you insert a disc. Also, as a CD player, will play some but not others—for no apparent reason. If it cost a nickel more than the $35 I would return it but for the money can’t be bothered.

Purchased this player on 17 July 2022. One year later 25 July 2023 it stopped playing Blu-ray discs. I DID NOT SEE THAT COMMING. Stay away from this player. Not worth the hassle to get replaced.

Best Buy totally let me down with this purchase, evidently they have know clue about what hardware they have on hand or when they will fulfill orders this was suppose to be a one hour curb side pick up made at 230 pm it's now 1;AM and don't have an update on when I should be expecting my item. The Apps I want are not loaded on the machine - Hulu, Amazon, and the website to get the apps doesn't work. Registration Code is not available, online help not available. Stupid to have to jump through hoops to load the basic apps I want. I will try tomorrow, but may return the machine.
