Good screen definition for movies. Fast enough processor for all my needs.

I could not believe the deal I got on this. Finding a laptop with dedicated graphics under $800 is near impossible. Runs great, super light, and very high-def screen. Might be my best purchase ever.

Couldn't be happier with purchase. Excellent 2in1. Sleek look, Awesome picture and very fast once I removed bloatware. Sound isn't as good as I hoped but after reading other reviews wasn't really expecting much. One thing I was a bit bummed about, specs showed fingerprint scanner which is not on this model.

Runs everything I've thrown at it sofar, the battery life is fair. Not too heavy for its size, pretty durable considering I lug it with me to school. Been really enjoying it.

I really love this computer as a laptop. It’s a good looking machine with a nice brushed-gunmetal aluminum exterior; it is thin and lightweight but sturdy. It has a well-functioning 360° display hinge that allows the screen to fold back so the machine can be used “in tablet mode” but it’s pretty big and heavy for a tablet (I’ll be using it as a laptop with a nice touch screen). The display is very bright and clear - it’s noticeably brighter than any other laptop I have seen (at least in this price range). But the clarity comes with a drawback - the display has an extremely reflective surface that can be annoying in certain lighting conditions. That’s a minor drawback, though, relative to the brightness and color depth of the display. Yeah….it’s a REALLY nice display! Performance is solid. I’d be surprised if it weren’t - it’s packing a 2.7GHz Intel 6th Generation Core i7 processor, an Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU with 2GB of GDDR5, and 12GB of DDR4 RAM. The 1TB HDD is a drawback, though - it’s the slowest component in the laptop. So it may take a while to load Windows 10 at startup (don’t even get me started on Windows 10) and large app's won't load immediately (and they wouldn't on any machine), but once things are loaded, the laptop is lightening fast. There isn’t an option for a solid state drive (as far as I know). Other plusses: the backlit keyboard is responsive and comfortable and the touch pad works just fine, good wireless connectivity, bottom-mounted speakers that are very clear with impressive volume, three USB 3.0 ports (including a type C port) and a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI output port, a media card reader, plus a useful rocker volume control on the side of the laptop. The rocker volume control is a great feature! Like most laptops on the market, this one came packed with a bit of annoying bloatware that took me a while to remove. And there’s no optical drive in this baby - in 2016 that shouldn’t be a surprise or a deal breaker but it’s something else you should be aware of.

Fast processing. Love how the screen flips and it becomes a tablet.

This is a fantastic system, light, powerful enough for my needs, and feels good when typing. Also, the tablet mode is kinda a trip, but I really like it.

Great all around use. Too much bloatware from manufacturer.

Works great. Really like the back lit keyboard. Great sound and display. The 1 TB hard drive gives plenty of space for pictures and videos.

I bought this laptop a week ago, and have had many problems. The biggest is that after I moved about 200 gb of data and pictures into the laptop, it totally disappeared a couple of days later. I put it in again, and now all the files are marked with checks and X's. The icons on the front screen have started displayed x's, as well. The computer has frozen up a number of times when I've been in the internet, and some of the keys have to be hit several times to make them react. The fan runs all the time and makes a lot of noise. On the positive side, when it works, it is very fast and has a good screen display, but the other problems are so annoying that I'm going to exchange it for something else. Sorry, Acer!

This is my first touch screen laptop. Very nice for the price. Quite powerful. Would recommend it.

It is a good computer. I wasn’t sure about the brand but I liked it.

This computer stopped working at the month of use. I sent to the manufacturer to fix (I cannot return because it has only 15 days period to return, now I understand why), the manufacturer said it is working fine. Still has several problems, the fan makes a huge noise like an airplane. And the worse is that the computer cannot start, so I cannot use it. I had to send again to the manufacturer and I lost my information and time. Too heavy and too expensive for what it is. I regret buying it, I prefer to pay a little extra and buy something that will last at least a year. I will never buy an Acer again, please do not buy this device or similar.

Does everything that I need it to,so far so good! Enough speed to use my programs and great picture! Love the versatility of the 360°,too!

The Acer Aspire R has functioned well during its first month of operation. I am still getting used the fact that it has a touch screen but find that its size (15.6-inch screen) and weight don't lend themselves to treating it like a smaller tablet device. This seems to be an excellent replacement for my former 4-yr-old Acer, which had some odd on/off issues since purchasing it. I decided to take a risk and get another Acer, hoping that problem was simply a fluke or had been resolved over the years. So far, so good. My only reservation about this new Acer thus far is that the power cord plug hardware that plugs into the side of the laptop is probably designed to be flexible and able to accommodate rapid movement, but it strikes me as being vulnerable to bending, or even breaking, easily, if there is a sudden jolt to the power cord line. I preferred the more stable and substantive plug of earlier Acer models.

I am impressed with Acer's performance, like the sleek design, and enjoy its easy adaptability to use in tablet mode - solid and sturdy. Graphics are vivid and sharp, screen size is perfect. This computer is powerful and comfortably portable. It has the features of a top-of-the-line competitor at nearly half the price.

This computer is fantastic.It does so much more than my previous computer....It is quicker and it has a sleeker more sophisticated appearance as well. Of course, it has the latest Intel chip which really makes it fly as previously stated.
