Exceeded My Expectations.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Alienware after searching various places like microcenter for a high end pc that would be future proof and would allow me to upgrade if needed the Alienware aurora is quite simply an amazing gaming pc. As someone who has had many various gaming laptops and some gaming pcs throughout the years it really was to me an exceptional find this Alienware r15 desktop has been an amazing and capable gaming desktop that can play any pc games you can desire the processor is a 13 th gen i7 processor and 4080 RTX video card with 16gb of ram it’s more than capable of playing the latest games for example I am playing Dragons Dogma 2 on the Alienware r15 and it’s running the game beyond 30-50 fps could be possibly higher but I really appreciate how smooth and responsive the frames are. This is the first gaming desktop I have bought in a long time that I can say I feel truly satisfied as a gaming enthusiast please be aware however the Alienware comes originally with 16gb of Memory but you can upgrade the R15 to 32gb or 64gb of ram if desired .Also the desktop is very modular meaning that it’s very upgradable for most of the parts in the pc. I was able to upgrade the memory to 32gb but I would like to upgrade it to 64gb in the future alongside the gpu as well to 23gb of ram. The Alienware also is easy to access and doesn’t take a long time to upgrade parts. Please note the ddr type is ddr5 for memory. Overall this pc has exceeded what I wanted from a pc from its liquid cooled features to the all around performance and ease of use you will not be disappointed if you looking for raw performance and future proofed feature you could not go wrong with the Alienware R15.

Alienware finally got it right on this one
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this PC when it was on sale and even an open box buy and for $2200 its a great deal. Have been playing a lot of Diablo 4 in ultrawide at 240 fps in ultra settings and this PC has zero issues and remains totally silent. Only complaints might be for this price the ram could look nicer other than the plain green sticks and the PC itself is huge.

No regrets, I'm in love.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Anyone debating to get this, absolutely should. I've had this for a month now, and was debating from the start whether or not I'd return it as I wasn't sure a pre built or specifically Alienware was what was best. The aesthetic is beautiful, the pc runs almost silent, it stays very cool and runs all games at max settings at a stable 180+fps. Drop the settings to very high or high and easily get 200-240fps while still having incredible graphics.

Love it.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's better than I expected. It's faster than I expected. The drive score is a little slow, but everything else makes up for it. You won't notice unless you test it.

Enjoyable right out of the box.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When purchased, the computer is plug and play system. I added additional M.2-2TB, with 32GB of RAM, and 4TB internal HD. Future installs, I’ll be upgrading CPU. GPU IS AWESOME and the RGB lighting with customization throughout the computer is AWESOME.

Super nice!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly super good it hasn’t even gone in overdrive mode but it’ll run every game in max setting. Also does not get hot unlike the previous models I remember it making my room 15 degrees hotter but this one never gets hot. Also looks wayyyy better than the older models.

Only worked for 10 days
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought my Aurora R15 from Best Buy 10 days ago and apparently today it decided it didn’t want to turn on. When I brought it into the geek squad counter, they told me that it would take weeks since they had to send it out for service and repairs. So I just decided right there to return it and instead of taking a refund, I decided to order the Corsair i7400. Hopefully I’ll have better luck when it arrives.

Perhaps you should find another brand..
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's get why i'm giving this 3 stars out of the way and likely returning it.. Fans are LOUD and they rattle when they spin up and down, when they are at a steady pace they seem fine but this systems ramps up and down way too often making this very annoying. Even set on Quiet mode, it's a huge problem. Secondly, you CANNOT undervolt this system to keep the CPU in check, Dell has purposely disabled this for NO REASON, 12th and 13th gen CPUs do not have the Plundervolt issue, therefore there was no reason for Dell to do this. Also, overclocking doesn't work properly either, it keeps changing to static voltage from Adaptive just creating more heat. The CPU holds 99c temps during any high loads and there's nothing you can do about it unless you tune down the TDP to the CPU with XTU. Onto the good, the GPU and CPU combo in this machine are fast fast... GPU runs at a cool 67c tops no issues there and the fans on the GPU are quiet (triple fan setup). The liquid cooler on the CPU is loud when spun up as are the chassis fans though. I backed off the CPU TDP to 125w to keep the fans quieter but that's not a real good solution when you're paying for a system that should go full throttle without hitting 99c the entire time (especially being liquid cooled). First run of CB23 is 30,xxx~ which is a decent score for the 13700KF.. but consecutive runs are about 26-27k because it throttles due to the 99c temps. Then further go to about 23-24k because the liquid cooler heat saturates and cannot keep up with the heat. At $2899 they should have at least upgraded to the Cryotech Alienware setup. Otherwise, occasionally the front case fan starts making a high pitched sound from it's bearing.. A fix for the fans would be to spend about another $150 on Noctua replacements (which again, for a $2899 machine you'd think it'd have better quality fans to begin with). I am a Totaltech member so I have some time before I have to decide to keep or return.. so i'll update this review (if it lets me) in another week or two with more findings/fixes. On the overall package value front, you could save about $500 if you built this system on your own.. Normally I do build my own systems but lately have decided the convenience of a pre-built sounds nicer to me.. And i'm overall a bit let down that if i'm spending $500 more that it would be nearly as good as a custom system.

Amazing gaming PC, check GPU wires if fan noise!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC has completely exceeded my expectations. I started off with an Alienware laptop and upgraded to this desktop. I added 32GB of Corsair Dominator RAM (still at 4800mhz come on Alienware give us a BIOS update to unlock XMP). I have it hooked up to a 77" LG C1 with G-Sync enabled. FPS on NFS:Unbound went from 22-55 FPS with graphics mostly on low to 118-145 FPS with everything set on ultra. The DLSS 3.0 that the 4080 offers changes everything at 4k! No more lag, no more dropped frames and even better now that its on ultra the graphics are jaw-dropping on the OLED screen. I've built a few rigs in the past but honestly at <$3k for this it's pretty hard to beat. There are a couple reviews here about fan noise when cycling up and down....mine did the same exact thing. Easy fix, the cables from the GPU were curled up in a way that they barely touched the GPU fan blades. Pushed them out of the way and now it's so quiet I can pretty much not hear it from a few feet away. Much better than my laptop's fans screaming every gaming session. Recommended!

Just Do It
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I see a few comments stating “you’re just paying for the brand.” My peers also discouraged me from going with Alienware, Mostly due to cost vs value. I quickly learned why it was a good idea sticking with Alienware instead of the other options. I purchased a different brand computer from Best Buy and after waiting a week for shipping, it came broken out of the box. That pushed me into the arms of the Alienware R15 and I’m so happy it did. Yes, I spent a little more than I wanted to, but now I have a BEAST of a computer. It is quiet, looks incredible on my 42” LGC1, and can handle anything I throw at it. The lighting options are significantly better than other brands. It’s just a phenomenal product. You also have Dell’s warranty which is a big deal with something this pricey.

Good deal, if it's on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it's on sale it's a good deal and even better if you can find an open box one when it's on sale. I ultimately returned it for two reasons: 1. The ram sticks did not match the picture on Dell's website or Best Buy's. They were the generic green sticks like the previous gen had so I'm not sure what that was about. I bought a brand-new one and even looked at the open-box one in the store; they were both green sticks. 2. Performance was good, but it definitely runs hotter than other setups.

A solid prebuild, but limited upgradability
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To preface this, I likely would have purchased another desktop gaming computer if this one weren't $600 off normal price, and it was a great deal at that point. It's competitively priced otherwise, but I would say that I will have a hard time recommending an Alienware to anyone who wants to upgrade their rig at any point in the future since there are a lot of limitations. The main reason I went with this over the model with the 4070 was actually the power supply, since you can't upgrade it with an aftermarket one and this model comes with a 1350W power supply rather than a 750W PSU which means you'll run into problems later if you want to meaningfully upgrade your GPU and CPU in the next few years. Additionally, the RAM situation is a bit messed up. The 16GB of RAM it comes with is a bit sad at this price point, and it's clocked at 4800MHz. You only get 2 slots for RAM, which isn't a deal breaker for me, but the maximum clock speed the system will accept is 4800MHz. So you got 6000MHz RAM? Doesn't matter to this computer. It's getting underclocked to 4800MHz. Supposedly they're working on a BIOS update to fix this, but I won't hold my breath and I can't recommend a product based on a future update. -1 star for overall poor upgrade support. All this to say, with all honesty I can say this machine is a solid gaming computer. I've barely been able to make it sweat running anything at 1440p at 165Hz with a secondary 1080p monitor and a few random background tasks running. It stays pretty quiet, it's got pretty lights, and it's a decent conversation starter if someone notices it. All in all, this is a very capable computer that will play games and do whatever you want it to do for many years to come, but do be careful of the very low ceiling for performance upgrades, if that's what you're looking for.

Great and fast but intermittent noise
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer is very fast even though ram is only 16 gb. Played hogwarts, 2x palworld split screen, granblue relink, baldurs gate just fine no lag. Only problem is constant rythmic noise as if something is hitting a fan in normal alienware settings. Have to set settings to quiet mode for the noise to go away. It also goes away in performance mode not sure why there is noise in normal mode.
