I decided to upgrade Echo since it was un sale. I love the smaller and more elegant design compared to the previous cylindrical shape. Set up was a breeze and got it working under five minutes.

The Amazon Echo (4th Gen) with premium sound, a smart home hub, and Alexa is a versatile device that combines multiple features in one. The sound quality has been improved compared to previous generations, offering a richer bass and clearer vocals, which makes it great for music and voice commands. Design-wise, the Echo (4th Gen) has a spherical shape with a fabric covering, which gives it a modern look that fits in with most home decors. It’s easy to set up and use, and the sound performance is impressive for its size. Overall, the Amazon Echo (4th Gen) is a solid choice for anyone looking for a smart speaker with great sound and seamless integration with smart home devices. It’s especially good for those who are already using Alexa or have a home with other smart gadgets.

I bought this 4th gen echo with built in hub for myself for my room previously buying the 3rd gen for granddaughters room and dot for kitchen. I love the round look of this new one and looks great with my decor. some reviews said huge but I don’t think so and have no problems when speaking to, saying because I saw in other reviews that alexa wouldn’t respond and had to keep repeating. I can whisper and responds every time. Comparing the two tho I don’t see alot of difference in sound, maybe a little more bass but both are very good, crisp clear sound. Very satisfied and recommend. Now have one in almost every room and can connect to hear music all over house or talk to someone in another room if I don’t want to yell. Nice.

The microphone on this thing is awful.. Constantly confuses me with being a guy, and misses key words if there is noise in the same room.. Besides that... I love this thing!! The sound quality is wonderful (I'm quite a sound quality snob) and the design is fun :) Love this gorgeous blue color!

Not ony does the Echo 4th Gen with premium sound have excellent audio quality, it also has a very stylish design. When I first took it out of the package and held it in my hands, I was impressed by its weight. I knew its heft was signalling the amount of magnets it had driving the various speakers. When I powered it up I enjoyed not only the crisp highnotes, but also the rich full sounding bass notes. We have two rooms that kind of sprawl together over the first floor of our house. I've now connected this speaker with two other Echo speakers into one group. Taken together the three speakers fill our first floor with rich sound. The other speakers, an Echo Plus and an Echo Show also have good audio quality, but I give the edge to the Echo 4th Gen with premium sound as the best of the lot.

I've grudgingly allowed Alexa devices into the home; couple of dots at first. I got hooked on linking my Apple Music to the Alexas. As a man who remembers cassette tapes, I'm still impressed being able to play anything from George Winston to Captain Beefheart by just saying it. This unit is loud. Provides a deep bass. It doesn't look out of place in the room. The equalizer controls are very basic, this is not a Sonos experience but it's absolutely worth the spend.

This is my first full size Echo. I have a 2nd gen Echo Dot and a 3rd gen Echo Dot, so that’s really what I’m comparing this to. So far I’ve been a little unimpressed with it. The sound quality is good and it gets nice and loud, plus I love the new spherical shape. But as far as interacting with Alexa, this is where I have some trouble. If I don’t speak her name clearly and loud enough, she won’t recognize me. With my 3rd gen Echo Dot, I was able to say her name very casually (like a loose conversation with a buddy) and she would hear me — even when speaking at a low volume level and listening to loud music. Maybe that’s due to the new non-360 design? Also, I’ve had some trouble with the Alexa app recognizing my Samsung TV. I was able to turn it off with my Echo Dot, but haven’t been able to do so with the Echo yet. That being said, I mainly just use it to listen to music when I’m in my room. Not sure if that’s worth even the $80 sale price...
