    As many may have heard, the colorsoft launch has been plagued with discolored/yellow bars on the bottom of the device. This has also been a problem for some, but not all paperwhites too. I’ve had to contact Amazon for two replacements because of yellow splotches on different sections of the screen! Comparing all three total devices that I’ve had between the original purchase and replacements, all of the screens are different hues! I was finally given one that was good enough to bare and alllllmost consistently colored throughout, but still not perfect. Aside from that, the clarity of text and speed of the device is a huuuuge improvement from the last generation.

    i returned the colorsoft….awful…i have the basic and love it….but the paperwhite signature i think is a few steps down from the oasis…..they should have improved on the oasis . i just don’t like reading on it….i think it is cheaply made and the screen is not even close to the oasis as far as eye candy….

    Bought this device for my father as a Christmas present, he was really excited to receive it and his face didn’t disappoint! As for the device itself, I think the operating system is a bit too complicated, had to help him set it up and was bombarded with dozens of free trials and subscriptions which you would likely want to unsubscribe after the trial ends! The battery life is more than decent. The brightness of the screen is okay, for its purpose it is perfect. Portability wise, of course it is great. My biggest complaint would be the operating system, personally I’d go for an iPad but my father enjoys this sooo…
